TonyeBarcanista: The court of appeal has upheld the caretaker committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) under the leadership of Ahmed Makarfi, describing the faction led by Ali Modu Sheriff as illegal.
In a judgement on Wednesday, the panel of judges led by Ibrahim Saulawa, set aside the ruling of Okon Abang, a judge of the federal high court Abuja, who declared Makarfi’s faction as “illegal”.
In a ruling on June 29, Abang ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) not to recognise any candidate from the Markafi faction.
But the panel held that Abang’s ruling was “displaced, and most troubling”.
“It is a gross abuse of section 36 (1) of the constitution, particularly the right to fair hearing,” Saulawa held.
INEC has to postpone this election for two reasons. 1. Ibrahim's name has to be removed as the candidate of PDP & replaced with that of Jegede except they envisaged this scenario and had a plan B . 2. They will be unfair to Jegede because he didn't have enough time to campaign because INEC recognised a candidate whose primary they did not attend. I know folks will say that is PDP internal problem. Whatever. If INEC were independent as their name speaks, they ought to challenge Abbang's judgement for compelling them to recognise a candidate whose primary they did not attend. But alas, the willingly accepted the judgement.

The activities of INEC as it relates to Edo & Ondo states speaks volumes. It amounts to double standards. The picked Ize iyamu of Makarfi faction in Edo & Ibrahim of Sherrif faction in Ondo. The whole plot is to douse the campaign of Jegede. He could not appear in yesterdays debate to convince people. Nonetheless, shame to Abang, shame to spoiler Sherriff, shame to Jimoh Ibrahim & shame to DNEC, dependent national electoral commission and their sponsors & supporters. It is time DSS & NJC look up Abbang.

phkka1: You can now see the reason why Adams was fighting tooth and nail to ensure that his man takes over from him. The average Nigerian mentality. I wonder where this can take this country to.
He boasted to the hearing of all that he will never hand over to Ize iyamu. I then started wondering whether the option was his or that of the Edo electorate? Nigeria! I couldn't have imagined Obama boasting not to hand over to Trump when he knew it was the American people that will decide that. God help us in this our jungle.
Governor Ortom announced this today when he received Mr. Ahungwa at the Benue Peoples House, Makurdi.
He described the young man as a determined son of the state whose example should be emulated by others.
The Governor said his decision to offer automatic employment to Mr. Ahungwa was to encourage other young people never to give up on their dreams no matter the challenges they face.
Governor Ortom restated the resolve of his administration to create opportunities for youths of Benue State to realise their aspirations in different fields of endeavour.
Speaking earlier, Mr. Isaac Ahungwa said the life story of Governor Ortom inspired him to embark on the patriotism tour riding a bicycle from Ibadan to State.
If na so I wan ride bicycle without tyre to Markudi make I see whether Ortom go help me get job. Abi which one better pass, make I carry the bicycle for head? Which one go convince the governor now? I wan quick resume work o.
Johnnyessence: abeg it is ur personal opinion ok. Upon d little money ogbeni is collecting, he is till paying the workers salaries. Upon recession projects are still ongoing. U will soon see industrial park. Then u will know how what ogbeni meant for the state of osun.
I can see you are impressed about the man's effort. E no easy sha. All levels of government are struggling. Even the FG want to borrow too. I believe the challenges of today are needed for we Nigerians to know that free meals are no longer available in Free town. God bless you jo.
Johnnyessence: u will always wails pls give us d debt profile of the state with d source. Only for u to be ranting everyday. Keep on the wail work. It pays you. Upon what u said here about fg allocation he still pay the workers salaries hmmm.
No harm intended but one fact you can't contest is that Osun state has consistently received the lowest allocation from FG for sometime now. If you doubt check allocation to states from the beginning of this year. The one shared for this month was shown on nairaland yesterday or the day before. If you question my source then just scroll back to few days. I asked why they were being given such small allocation & it was attributed to indebtedness. Wherever you got your tag of wailing from is up to you. When I made my observation, I ended it by saying it was my personal opinion. Since you have yours, just post it for all to read because its your opinion and you can't Lord it on me just as I can't Lord mine on you.
chloedogie: If only Ogbeni did well educationally, people like you will speak good english. Have a good day my man.
Do not criticise people's english here. Folks rush through write up here & do not proof read before posting. At times when I read my write up here which I post without proof reading I am amazed. Look at the message & not how it is delivered. Looking at the message you are even criticising, the chap used coded language, but he ended up putting his message across. I hail o.
Johnnyessence: Road infrastructure as being executed in Osun guarantee present and future good living. It is the surest way to invite bigger investments as investors desire conducive environments to support their investments. In the face of economic stress, paucity of funds and other..
Living a borrowed life. Good job he is doing but the value of the state in the face of the debt burden makes it almost as worthless as the Zimbabwean dollar. While states are getting billions from the centre, Osun as at last count received about 300M. I pity the governor who will succeed him. He will almost run away from the seat in the face of the debt burden. Just my opinion though. Yours may be different but we are all entitled to opinions.
Ondo People its time to listen to your candidates on what they have in stocks.
They are always absent. They don't need debate to convince people. Since they won the centre, they know the buttons to press, especially the INEC button.
This is why I say INEC is not independent. If they were, Mimiko should be sorting issues with the INEC chairman and not Buhari. If Buhari decides to postpone the elections, you will hear that INEC concur. Where then is the independence?
ade2008: No university will employ him as a lecturer even with HND+PGD+MSC, only polytechnic can. Even to be employed in a polytechnic the PGD should be in the core field(mass comm not in education+ MSC. Academic carreer for HND is very narrow , you can only work as a technologist, so my advice is obtain a degree if you're passionate about working in academic as lecturer. I'm a senior technologist working in a polytechnic , speaking from experience
That is not correct. With an HND, you are taking as instructor in both polytechnic or university. Once you do a 9 months Pgd program, you become at per with the degree & then you can go for higher degree. I had an instructor during undergraduate days. He went for his Pgd in another university while we were still there. When I browsed details about my old school earlier this year, he was already a prof. I am not guessing, but this is what happened. But let me agree with you that the Pgd must be in the course where you have the HND or options of the course.
metronaija2: Ekiti state Governor Ayodele Fayose pictured in a happy mood with Osun state Governor, Aregbesola and Ajimobi during the South West economic summit today in Ibadan.
For them to be laughing & embracing the man that has been insulting their master, Buhari, is an open endorsement of his efforts. It is now clear that the honeymoon is over.

This meeting of SW governors is going on simultaneously with the APC governors forum. Wahala dey o. When old soja start to put him people for all the positions I knew there will be problem. Tinubu obviously is fighting for his people while Rochas is fighting for himself. The SE are worst hit in the lopsided appointments because they are of the 5% yet Rochas dey clap follow them.
Which popularity? If they allow the election to be free and fair, Ondo people will not vote APC because there is hunger in the land. The people who asked that GEJ should come back in Sokoto are not saying so because they love GEJ but because inflation makes it difficult for them to get food to eat. If they insist that their will rather than the will of the people prevail, then we are trying to bite more than we can chew. Dictators do not believe in democracy and rule of law. They are used to giving orders to get things done like directing Ondo INEC commissioner to ensure APC wins the election. They should just know that there so much awareness now. You do anyhow, you see anyhow. Ondo is sitting on a keg of gunpowder.
NgcoboP: what's the unproductive jigawa doing with 3.1 billion.. when Edo is getting 1.9 billion
na debt servicing make Edo small. Edo is 3rd most indebted state in the country. That's what you get when a governor mortgage the future of his state through borrowing. Enjoy today and suffer tomorrow.

crazymommy: Anyone who thinks orubebe did that for the love of nigeria is joking,he is fighting for his own pocket..
when the tide was turning in favour of PMB, Orubebe felt he had to act fast otherwise he may be forced to cough out the millions he pocketed as it is happening now. He foresaw the problem & then suddenly went mad.
