It will be rigged like the one they conducted last and be rest assured 2019 will also be rigged. I can see that from their body language. But if they do, that might be the last straw that will break the camel's back because they will win but won't have a country to govern. Boys are no longer smiling. Pictured is the lady identified as Monica Onokah who was involved in a fatal accident which happened yesterday at Mile 2 bus stop by Festac town in Lagos. A container truck fell on the said lady and crushed her legs in the process as she was about boarding a bike on the road. According to reports, the bike man managed to escape but the lady tripped while trying to run, and the container fell on her legs.

People came to her rescue and when they couldn't figure out how to take the very heavy container off her, they decided to cut off her legs with a cutlass. The lady died as she was being rushed to the hospital.

PoliticsRe: 2019: 4 Valid Reasons Why Nigerians Cannot Afford To Have Atiku In Aso Rock by july66:
TonyeBarcanista:
I have been observing the recent moves by a former Vice President of Nigeria Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who is also a veteran aspirant for the office of the President. Atiku Abubakar has suddenly shifted from his subtle campaign for President to what seem to be like an almost direct campaign for the number one seat in the country. In the Social media, some sycophantic groups and individual with inspiration from their stomach have been making noise by endorsing the Turaki Adamawa-perhaps, with expectation of gratification "when the time comes".

While I am not against Alhaji Atiku Abubakar to exercise his right to aspire for the office of the President in 2019 or any office in Nigeria, I have the responsibility as a young man, a patriot and a youth leader in my own right to enlighten Nigerians and eligible voters about Alhaji Atiku Abubakar's candidacy (just like I would to any other aspirant for the office).

I shall give some reasons why Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is unfit to occupy the office he is aspiring for;

1. Lack of Integrity:
During the period when he was the Vice President of the country, Atiku was appointed to chair the Petroleum Technology Development Fund by the President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo. As Chairman of Petroleum Training Development Fund(PTDF), Atiku lodged over $30million and $164 in Trans International Bank and Equatorial Trust Bank respectively from the account of PTDF according to EFCC's forensive indictment in 2006. In fact, 'loans' that yielded interest as high as 15% to the banks were collected from the said banks by Atiku and his proteges AFTER PTDF millions of dollars has been lodged with the illegal account. It was all business! When the deal was busted in 2006, Atiku simply said that he 'kept the monies for safe-keeping' and even claimed that he deserves commendation. He brought back the PTDF "capital" that he put in private account and benefited hugely from it.

Atiku Abubakar was indicted by EFCC, Senate, and a Presidential Committee. He is yet to clear his name. As usual, a court that he went to never discussed whether he was innocent or guilty, but simply said the FG Committee lacks power to investigate and indict Atiku Abubakar because they weren't courts. You may look these for reference. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/africa/6402241.stm
www.saharareporters.com/2006/09/24/objatiku-scandal-what-efcc-failed-disclose-thenewssaharareporters
www.saharareporters.com/2007/02/28/breaking-news-ptdf-scandal-senate-indicts-obj-atiku-impeachment-motion-looms

It is a shame that we are in a country where we forget easily. Otherwise, how could sane Nigerians be asking for Atiku's Presidency when Nigerians in unison were asking for him to come out clean as for back as 2006.

Apart from the PTDF, Nigerians are yet to understand how Alhaji Atiku Abubakar from a humble background became an extraordinary billionaire despite the fact that most of his productive adult life was spent in the Nigeria Custom Service.

There is also an indictment on Atiku in the USA, I am yet to see him take up the challenge to take a trip to the United States as requested by exPresident Olusegun Obasanjo in 2014.

2. Tribal Supremacism:
One of the challenge of President Buhari's administration is that he is more aligned with his brothers in the north than with the rest of the country, hough Buhari has never hidden where is primary loyalty lies (his north). While many think Atiku is detribalised (we can only be patriotic and not detribalised anyway), the bare truth is that Atiku is a northern supremacist that believe that his northerners should always align with their own. Unlike Buhari, Atiku is pretentious about his- but his sin shall find him out.

In 2010, in their bid to stop Goodluck Jonathan from seeking the ticket of PDP in the 2011 Presidential election, Atiku Abubakar, Aliyu Gusau, Gen IBB and Bukola Saraki(now Senate President) all submitted themselves to Adamu Ciroma led Northern Political Leaders Forum to come up with a consensus NORTHERN candidate to upstage Southern Goodluck Jonathan. Atiku was eventually chosen as the eventual "northern candidate" over Saraki, who wasn't considered "northern enough" by the Ciroma led Forum. Atiku led a campaign in the north that he christened "Naka Sai Naka" meaning "Northerners go for your own".

The record is there for all to see http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-12193681

3. Insincerity And Deception:
Atiku is a very wealthy man no doubt, but of late we have seen a picture of him drinking sachet water aka pure water. When did Atiku start drinking such? Who is he trying to deceive? We won't forget the N40 sacthet Milo/tea gimmicks that the Buhari campaign employed to deceive gullible Nigerians into believing that he was a "poor man". We won't forget the "akara" frying stunt of Mrs Aisha Buhari during the electioneering period in 2015. We should realise that when politicians are desperate, they take to any act just to impress and deceiving the gullible into giving them their votes. #NeverAgain should we be falling for such. It amounts to deception in the part of the elite to continue to use such gimmicks.

Also, Atiku has been making case for federalism and stuffs, but in ALL his years in Aso Rock as VeePee, he never initiated nor suggested such. In fact, Atiku was a very powerful VeePee between 1999 and 2003, as he was in charge of home-front while Obasanjo was travelling the world, yet he never thought of any pro-Federalism/restructuring policy. It is true that he fought against the third term agenda of Obasanjo, but we all know that he did it so that he can be able to succeed the president in 2007- he didn't do it for Nigeria.

4. What Does He Have To Offer That He Can't Suggest To Incumbents?
Atiku is part of the political system in Nigeria. In 1993 he ran for President, but lost to MKO Abiola in the Social Democratic Party primary election. In 2007, he ran for Presidency under Action Congress, but lost to Umaru Yaradua of PDP, and coming behing ANPP's General Buhari. In 2011 he ran for Presidency and lost to Jonathan in the contest for PDP ticket. In 2014, he ran again but lost to Muhammadu Buhari in the APC primary, coming behind second placed Rabiu Kwankwaso. Now he is eyeing 2019! What is Atiku looking for after serving as Vice President for eight years? What did he forget in the villa that he wants to go back to get?

Atiku is already 70, he will be 73 in 2019, he is not an outsider of the system (like the American Trump), what does he have to offer that he couldn't offer as VeePee? What stops him from sharing his "developmental" ideas to the incumbents since 1999 (considering that he was always in the incumbent parties)? What stops Alhaji Atiku from grooming younger, smarter and intelligent politician for the plum job?

Like I said earlier in my first paragraph, I am not against the right of Atiku to seek office, but I am against the idea of him becoming President. Nigeria cannot afford to continue to rotate failures and grannies. We need generational shift in leadership, we need to retire the system elite and bring him visionaries in 2019.

Nigeria has to be great for our own good, and we must make it great!

May God Bless Us All and Bless Nigeria

That is your personal opinion & you are entitled to it. Atiku is more de-tribalised than PMB. No candidate is perfect but among many evil men we can pick a better one. I think I prefer Atiku to PMB. PMB has no solution to Nigeria's problem though his fight against corruption is good but it is lopsided. He is too committed to northernisation agenda as if southerners offended him before. They used SW to get power but since that road appeared closed they are now thinking of using SE. Let's see how that works out with his clamp down on Biafra agitators. We don't know but he may deceive them that he will work for their independence once re-elected. Politicians promise anything to get power after all the same PMP promised 3,000,000 jobs within a year, naira to be at per with the dollar & that a litre of pms will sell for 40 naira. To me, deceiving voters to get power & stealing of government funds are all acts of corruption. QED.

nairalandfreak:
President Muhammadu Buhari again on Saturday said the Peoples Democratic Party succeeded in running Nigeria aground for the 16 years it produced Presidents for the country.

According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Femi Adesina, the President spoke at a meeting he had with governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, APC elders in the state, and national officers of the party before departing for the Democracy Park in Akure for the grand finale of the Ondo APC governorship rally.

Buhari said the nation was mismanaged from 1999 to 2015.

Former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Umaru Yar’Adua and Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP ruled the country during the period.

The President however promised that his government would correct the wrongs that were done to the country by the three previous administrations.

“Buhari assured Nigerians that determined, steadfast and patriotic people in the APC-led government will transform the nation’s ailing economy, which was run aground by the party that governed Nigeria for 16 years from 1999 to 2015,” the statement read.

Buhari & Atiku are APC & both are from the north. I think Atiku will be a better president than Buhari. Both of them have made several efforts to be president. Finally Buhari won but frankly his efforts so far has not yielded the results of a man that tried several times before succeeding. I think its time to give Atiku a shot. By 2019, the natural influence of amnesia will have started taking its toll on PMB & people will begin to use him instead of him using people. No harm intended please, just a personal opinion afterall both of them are APC.

'UPDATE ON THE CASE OF IVIE EDOBOR: THE NEED TO KEEP YOUR EYES ON THE BALL

As the Americans would say: "Always keep your eyes on the ball". The best way for the opponent to defeat you in any conflict is to force you to take your eyes away from the ball. That is is practically the move that Mr. John Edobor has made against Ivie Edobor, once he realized the gathering dangers around him.

When DPA first got involved in this case, I realized that the case possessed every element that is needed for mud slings - sex, scandal, betrayal, power, litigation, violence, pain and suffering. I pitied Ivie because she was clearly at a disadvantage. First, she is dealing in an environment where it is so easy to blame the woman. Second, she faced physical incapacitation with the attendant economic hardship that would prevent her from fighting a good fight. Her enemy took her out in the first round of the fight.

John remained a manager in Zenith Bank throughout the period. For five months, he used his presence and continued employment in Zenith to prepare to battle his estranged wife. It was only a matter of time before John would brandish his weapons of mud and sleaze. He only waited this long because he thought he was in control of the dynamics of this conflict. But he was wrong. The tide turned last week after DPA entered into the picture. (By the way, I use this opportunity to assuage some DPA members who felt that the role of DPA in this case has not been adequately acknowledged. We need not ask for any acknowledgment. Our work speaks for itself). But make no mistake: DPA pushed for the upgrading of the charge from assault to attempted murder. That was the sole reason I went to court last week. (I didn't go to court just to show solidarity) Also, DPA has clarified the narrative and focused attention on the unfortunate and highly questionable position of Zenith Bank.

Keeping our eyes on the ball requires us to stay focused on the issues that matter, regardless of attempt to alter the narrative through manipulated and selective evidence peddled on the personal walls of the accused man. One thing is this: John is defending a case that could send him to jail for the rest of his life. The incentive is too high that he would do anything to escape. Lying is the least thing he would worry about. Once John lost his job and now faces homicide-related criminal charges, you must prepare to expect the worst he is capable of.

Since last week, Ivie has feared many dangers from John. John who had been threatening her since the past 5 months, suddenly began to plead for reconciliation. Ivie was so worried that John was getting to the verge of mental crack up and his stability was much in doubt. She feared for her safety and safety of her children. John was clearly becoming suicidal. I advised her on how to stay calm and on how to be cautions. I must say that if all that John ended up doing was to lie against Ivie with doctored chats logs, then we are relieved that he did much less than we had feared.

Keeping our eyes on the ball demands that we remember the following:

(1) Ivie and John were separated since the past two years without any intention to continue the marriage.

(2) Prior to the separation, John committed domestic violence on Ivie multiple times.

(3) During the time of separation, John has been with multiple women in sexual relationships, as shown by the picture attached in which John and a woman (not Ivie) were in bed.

(4) On that faithful night in June, John came to Ivie's house at night and attacked Ivie with weapons and clearly with intent to kill her.

The above facts are indisputable.

Now let's us consider the fabled evidence that John has conjured up in his defense. John says:

1) That he and his wife agreed to separate in order to evade creditors. (You know that is a lie. John is a banker. He knows that such is not a way to evade creditors when your children remain in the same school for a whole year after separation. Indeed, the reason the children remained in Ajah school, while Ivie was shuttling them from Badagry (where her father lived) to Ajah each day for school was because Ivie did not have money to register them in another school near her father's house).

2) John claims that Ivie got pregnant and aborted it. (Again, you know that is likely a blackmail. John who could not feed three children he already had would not spend nights and days crying that his estranged wife aborted pregnancy with twins. Besides, if that was the case and John felt so bad about that, why would he go to fight Ivie in her house? He should have been eager to divorce her).

3) John claimed that Ivie had relationship with another man during the time they were separated. He uses manipulated social media chat logs to buttress such contrivance. (But, really, even if were true, which I have refused to enter into, it is most unreasonable to expect that after 2 years of separation, your spouse would remain sexually loyal to you, especially when you had started living with another woman).

Now, go over all the excuses and reasons that John has given. The only reason missing is the reason why he attacked Ivie Edobor so viciously? John will never find one reason to justify the attack on Ivie. That is the ball that we must keep our eyes on. What is the justification for his action?

You must know that John was arrested at the scene. He alone was arrested. So, nobody else committed a crime that night. Nobody else attacked anybody other than John. Also, note that after arrest, John made statements and other witnesses made statements. At the end of it, the police decided to arraign him for assault. Note also that even after the case had commenced in court, the government felt that assault was not strong enough. They found that John had an intention to kill Ivie. That was why they changed the charge to attempted murder. It all means that nobody who has examined the evidence from a professional standpoint so far could buy the nonsensical stories John is now peddling. And I urge DPA members to disregards such nonsense. We shall keep our eyes on the ball and we are interested only in one thing - John's excuse for attempting to kill Ivie.

NOTE: You will see among what John attached a letter that Ivie purportedly wrote to Zenith apologizing for allegedly dragging Zenith's name to the mud. You are smart. You would wonder what kind of Bank would go to the extent of forcing a victim who was still in the hospital to write such a letter. That letter is actually a smoking gun against Zenith. In fact, with that letter, we can upgrade out accusations of Zenith Bank from breach of its social responsibility to active persecution and harassment and obstruction of justice. They forced Ivie to call the incident a family dispute that should be resolved within the family, even while the state is prosecuting it as a crime against the Nigerian public. The reason they forced her to describe the incident as such was actually to influence John's indictment and make it appear that it was indeed a family matter. That is called obstruction of justice.

This case is just setting. I think that John has grossly miscalculated what is at stake here. The stories he peddles on his Facebook wall do not cut it at all, and DPA members and the general public will keep their eyes on the ball.

"My Wife Had Sex With A Married Man, Got Pregnant For Him & Aborted The Twin" - John Edobor

John Edobor, the man who was accused by his estranged wife, Ivie Edobor, of violently attacking her and breaking her leg has for the first time since the incident spoken his side of the story. Recall that earlier in the week, his wife's lawyer Emeka Ugwuonye announced that John had been sacked by his employers, Zenith bank in demonstration of their stand against domestic violence.

After his sack, Laila's blog reached out to him to hear his side of the story, and his version (which he has also posted on his social media page) of what happened is totally different from his wife Ivie's version of events. According to him, his wife had allegedly had an affair with a married man, gotten pregnant for him and aborted the pregnancy. He also alleged that it was this married man who was allegedly responsible for her fractured leg, not him.

He also debunked his wife's claims that he has abandoned his 3 daughters he had with her, and attached photos of their school fees payment as proof.

Read the allegations he sent to Laila's blog below.

3. I lost my blood brother to these thieves in January of this year. He was 20, & was coming back from dance rehearsal.

4. He was holding his friend’s Samsung Tab when the thieves approached him & without warning, stabbed him in the neck.

5. His friends didn’t know what happened cus he was at the back. After he was stabbed, he ran towards his friends…

6. And cried for them to help him, that he had been stabbed. Immediately after making that statement, he collapsed.

7. My bro. is huge in size, so it was difficult for his friends to lift him. Even when they did, nobody stopped for …

8. them or offered to take him to a hospital. A good Samaritan bikeman helped and took him to a near by quack hospital.

9. The hospital rejected him. It was a lost cause. So his friends abandoned his lifeless body on the road opposite the

10. hospital. One of them ran 2 my house to call me. I had just come back from d gym, i had only gym pants on, no shirt

11. I did an intense squat programme that day. Mind you, i never do squats in the gym. I flung my phone and ran out as

12. fast as my tired legs could carry me, half naked. I didn’t even know my mum was following me. I got to the hospital

13. and saw my brother’s lifeless body on the floor with dozens of people staring at him like he just landed on earth.

14. I fainted, but some folks revived me and put me on a bike with my bro’s body. They put my mum on another bike.

15. Some of our neigbours who had heard my mum screaming also followed us. It was difficult for the bike to balance cus

16. of my bro’s weight. So our neighbours carried him on their hands to another hospital, which also rejected him on

17. the spot. I heard a medical worker say, eleyi ti ku na, which translates to this one is dead na. I begged for them

18. to check him at least. They refused and told us to go the General hospital. We took off again inside a keke…

19. I was half-naked at the busstop begging bike men, keke & anything on wheels to help lift my brother. None answered

12. Long story cut short, my family is still recovering from the trauma of that night. Sometimes, my mum waits for us

13. to go to bed, before draining herself in her tears. It has been months, but go and see my mum now. She looks frail

14. and has been aging rapidly, thanks to over thinking. When i don’t pick my call, she goes into panic mode. She might

15. never recover. I sent messages to @YomiShogunle and @rrslagos767 and also to @aleeygiwa. @aleeygiwa called back &

16. we spoke for minutes. I complained about that busstop and that we reported to the near by Police station, but they

17. refused to do anything. @aleeygiwa promised to visit and check out the notorious spot himself. I’ve been waiting

18. since January. Now, read carefully. After the murder of my brother, i have heard that close to a dozen people have

19. lost their lives to the same phone thieves at Alafia busstop. I happen to know one. A young and newly married man

12. who had a shop close 2 my street. I have also met people who have escaped these murderers by a whisker. The thieves

21. in Alafia busstop don’t ask for your phone. They stab you and then take it from you. On Saturday, i was preparing

22. to head out for a soccer match when a friend called. He sounded excited, like he just won a lottery. ”Obi, he said

23. i just witnessed the lynching of a thief in the same busstop your brother was murdered.” My mum was close by. so

24. i told her what my pal just told me. This was what she said ” The spirit of Obinna(my brother) will not rest until

25. his killers are dead. I didn’t heed 2 calls to go to a shrine. I know my son can fight for himself, dead or alive”

26. See, it is easy to speak up against lynching when you’ve never been a victim of these fuckers. You don’t have

27. nightmares like my entire family does. You can speak up because you have never ever seen your dad cry like a baby

28. over the death of his son, or your mum continuously deteriorating as a result of over thinking. Praying day & night

29. that she doesn’t loose another child 2 these murderers. I was defending d thief, thinking it was truly a 7 year old

30. It just connected, when i saw the tweets from @YomiShogunle confirming it was the same thief that my friend called

31. about. If i was there, i would have personally bought d fuel used in burning him. The thieves had no plans to stop

32. Hopefully, when the community starts to take matters into their hands and show these retards that we mean business,

33. they might stop making families miserable. And oh, these guys once threw a man off that Alafia bridge for refusing

34. to hand over his phone. I am against lynching by the way. But this particular issue is very personal to me. Thanks

I guess people just poured their anger on the thief but what lead to the death of this Obinna may have been caused by something else. With the description of his size, he may have bullied somebody who waited to take his pound of flesh. Not right though but some of this folks do terrible things.

'SILENT WAR ON THE CHILDREN OF THE NIGER DELTA (SPDC STOP KILLING OUR KIDS AND THE UNBORN GENERATION)

It is with pain and tears in my heart I write this piece, just a few days back I went to see for myself the disaster caused by crude oil at Ekole creek in Ogbia Bayelsa state.

This spill was from a Shell pipeline that is 42 years old, the lifespan of every pipeline is 20 years and the blatant neglect of this fact has brought untold hardship on the people of Otuokpoti and Agbura communities of Bayelsa state.

What you see vividly in these picture are kids scooping crude oil filled water, the drinking water is polluted, I could barely stand for long as the strong pungent smell of chemicals in the air made breathing difficult.

This spill which happened on the 27th of October 2016 was caused by sheer carelessness on the side of SPDC, and my people now suffer untold hardship from strange sicknesses and diseases.

I have raised a matter of urgent public importance in the House of Representatives, and I want to use this medium to ask SPDC, Ministry of Enviroment, NOSREA, and NEMA as a matter of urgency to start the process of cleaning up the area, doing a baseline study and sending relief materials to those affected as well as medical aid.

The people of Ogbia are peace loving people, but if we are pushed to the wall, no one can tell the outcome.

This is not their drinking water. Even if this water was clean, as far as it is close to the house they won't drink it. They can use it for washing, flushing & maybe they carryout home treatment before consumption.

No be God send am but my God is a merciful God who can decide to show mercy on any soul that repents. Apostle Paul was a wicked killer but God had mercy on him. Do not get me wrong. I am not saying it was right for the guy to peddle drugs & I am not saying he will not be killed as planned. What I am saying is that should God decide to show him mercy, the whole world put together cannot stop God from doing setting him free if he so decides. Not trying to engage you in argument because you will win but just trying to prove the awesomeness of our God.

With God nothing is impossible. Even at this stage, God can turn it around if he so desires. He can shake the whole of a country to set one man free.
