Health / The Most Exciting Healthy Meal Plans For Weight Loss That You Need To Know by Jumkye: 11:16pm On Nov 27, 2018
A lot has been said about how much you need to exercise for a healthy body. However, your diet should be part of your weight loss plan as much as exercise is. Usually when dieters talk about food as a part of a weight loss plan, they talk about what you should cut out rather than what you should keep in. However, healthy eating diets did not have to exclude your favourite foods. Here is a one day meal plan that you can use as a guide for your healthy meal plans in order to maintain your weight loss target.

Breakfast

Oatmeal with Fresh or Frozen (No Sugar Added) Fruit
javascript:void(0);
You can add lemons or grapes as they make a great snack to go with your healthy meal plan.

If you swap a bowl of your regular cold, dried cereal to one of hot whole-grain cereal and fruit, you would reduce your calorie count by approximately 100 every day. That one simple change to your daily diet could help you drop about 10 pounds in one year. Also, hot cereal has more “staying power.” It is regarded by dietitians to be more filling. That way you won’t feel hungry and lapse into your former unhealthy eating habits

Tea or Coffee

If you desire tea, add a little non-fat milk or soymilk and a packet of sugar substitute. Putting sugar in your tea around this time is unhealthy dieting and will likely cause you to revert to your former bad health habits.

Mid-Morning Snack

Veggie-Salsa Tortilla

1 steamed 6-inch corn tortilla with fresh or grilled vegetables (such as onions, green bell peppers, and tomatoes) and no-added-salt salsa. It is generally better if you steam the tortilla between slightly moistened paper towels in the microwave for about 1 minute, then top with veggies and salsa. You can enjoy this with 1 Navel Orange or 2 Tangerines.

Lunch

2 Cups Mixed Greens with 1 Cup of Other Vegetables.

It is usually better if the mix is chopped and dressed with Aged Balsamic Vinegar.

For your salads, break out of the lettuce-and-tomato box. All kinds of veggies and fruit can go into your salad. In order to spice the mix up you can try adding in diced sweet potatoes, yellow squash, red bell peppers, cucumbers, red cabbage, red onions, and more. These are the best diet foods that can substitute for all the carbohydrates and proteins for when you are on a health regimen.

It is important for you to realize that no oil, even so-called “good” ones, should be considered a weight-loss food. Coating your salad with oil can tally up as many calories as a scoop of premium ice cream. So if you desire that healthy diet you should be careful of oils.

Hearty Italian-Style White Bean Soup

This soup is great for a healthy meal plans, and nearly all dietitians recommend it. It might sound exotic but it is actually easy to make. From one 14-ounce can of no-salt-added cannelini beans, spoon out 2 tablespoons of beans. Puree the rest. In a medium non-stick pot, sauté 5 cloves of chopped garlic until translucent. Add 2 cups low-sodium chicken broth and 1 head of escarole, chopped, or a package of frozen chopped spinach. Simmer for about 15 minutes. Add pureed beans, red pepper flakes and black pepper, to taste, and cook 1 minute longer. Garnish with the beans you spooned out plus, if you desire, a little chopped red bell pepper. Refrigerate or freeze what you don’t eat for easy soup prep for a future lunch or dinner.

Mid-Afternoon Snack (enjoy only if hungry)

6 ounces of non-fat plain or no-sugar-added yogurt with your choice of berries swirled throughout

1 Apple

While Desserts like yogurt and berries are considered as unhealthy foods, and dieters are always advised to stay clear of it, but if the meal is properly plan there is no reason that they should be part of your healthy meal plan. You’ll still lose weight.

Dinner

Salad

A gigantic farmer’s market-style salad with a variety of fresh seasonal produce and fresh herbs, such as fresh baby arugula and radicchio, and red wine vinegar sassed up with a little horseradish. Enjoy visiting your local farmer’s market every week and talk to your vendors about what’s new and tasty and what would make the best ingredients for your salad?

Mustard Coated Salmon (3½ to 4 ounces)

When dining out and ordering fish, request that your fish not be salted or basted in calorie-dense ingredients like olive oil and butter. Those kind of foods are not good for you and will only make you go back to craving for the bad health habits you are trying to leave behind. You can try healthier cooking options include steaming, broiling, or grilling.

Baked Potato with 2 Tablespoons Fat-Free Sour Cream and a Sprinkling of Chives or Scallions

Contrary to popular belief, potatoes are a great food for helping you lose weight. So don’t be alarmed if your recommended meal plan has potatoes in it. It is what we put on top of our potatoes – butter, cheese, and bacon bits those food that are synonymous with bad health habits, that turn them into waistline-busting foods.

It is very important that as a dieter that you make sure to imbibe good health habits along with whatever you are doing to lose weight. Healthy eating diets are important to weight loss as exercise or getting the right amount of sunshine is. A healthy diet does not always involve you going without food, that is considered bad health habits. Also it is important for you to know that a healthy meal plan also depends on the type of your body and your conditions and allergies. Therefore, make sure you consult your doctor and your dietitian as to what healthy eating diets go best with your regimen. And do your best to avoid bad health habits.

Celebrities / Re: Fake News Alert: The CIA Did NOT Kill Bob Marley by Jumkye: 9:26am On Aug 28, 2018
As much as Nairaland is a forum, Seun and other moderators should try as much as possible to verify news sources before posting it on the front page.

"Don't post false information on Nairaland." is one of the rules, you cannot make a conspiracy theory that has been circulating the internet for years and make it news. It is completely wrong.

Same way, accident dead bodies and nudity is moved to the front page without warning or regard for the families of victims involved. I know you guys cannot control what people post, at least give a warning for graphic content and respect the dead.

Thousands of people depend on Nairaland for information, you guys should try as much as possible to put some form of accountability to the things that get moved to the front page.

Celebrities / Fake News Alert: The CIA Did NOT Kill Bob Marley by Jumkye: 9:19am On Aug 28, 2018
A story on how Bill Oxley, said to be an ex-agent of America’s Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) killed Bob Marley, reggae legend, is currently circulating on the internet.

In a story reproduced by NAN on Monday, Oxley reportedly confessed to assassinating the singer.

But this fact check by Channel 4.com shows it’s fake news.

Incredible revelations about Bob Marley are circulating on the internet.

According to the story, a retired CIA officer with weeks to live has confessed to assassinating the singer.
But it’s fake news.

THE ANALYSIS

The report was first posted online by YourNewsWire.com.

It’s one of the most notorious Fake News websites. For instance, it spread rumours that Hillary Clinton was linked to a paedophile ring.

Another time, it claimed US authorities were plotting to assassinate Donald Trump.

The site is registered by Sean Adl-Tabatabai, a former BBC producer who went on to work for the conspiracy theory website of David Icke, who believes the world is controlled by predatory lizards who demand human sacrifice.

The Bob Marley article is written by Baxter Dmitry, whose other articles include fake claims that the FBI carefully deleted evidence from the Las Vegas shooting, the Pope believes Jesus has turned into Satan, and that Britney Spears had admitted to escaping from the Illuminati.

Health / Company Behind Flint Water Crisis Coming To Lagos by Jumkye: 2:16pm On Aug 12, 2018
LAGOS, Nigeria — There’s a supreme irony about Lagos, Africa’s most populous megapolis.

Named after the lagoons that thread its shores, the city endures lashing annual rains and its flood-prone coastline is constantly being eroded by the Atlantic Ocean. And yet, 70% of its 21 million inhabitants lack access to drinkable, piped water.

This month, the state government is set to launch its solution to the decades-old problem by bringing in private companies to fix the crumbling water infrastructure. Top of its list for the multibillion-dollar contract: Veolia, the company whose alleged “botched” role in the cities of Flint and Pittsburgh exposed residents to dangerously high lead levels in water.

In theory at least, bringing in private providers makes sense for elected officials, who can offload the huge costs of repairing infrastructure onto companies with deeper pockets and technical know-how. As it stands, the state-run water company pumps out 220 million gallons of water per day. But there’s still a shortfall three times that amount — enough to fill up roughly 900 Olympic-size pools. So, when their taps run dry, citizens turn to private water hawkers and water trucks, bore their own wells, or use polluted rivers and streams.

But the answer, activists say, isn’t putting it in the hands of multinationals like the French-owned Veolia. In the worst-case scenario, it foreshadows a future in which drinkable water is up for grabs to the highest bidder rather than democratically accountable officials. And it underscores a dystopian threat that campaigners have worried about for decades: that one day every last drop of water, whose scarcity threatens cities from Australia to Asia to Latin America, will be controlled by profit-hungry private companies.

“With a private company, there’s no direct line of accountability,” said Satya Conway-Rhodes, managing director of US-based Mayors Innovation Project, which helps cities find sustainable water solutions. “You’re just basically hoping the company will be a good actor and do what they say they’ll do. That’s not a good way to run anything — just based on hope.”

Veolia, which is the world’s largest water company, is under investigation in at least three different countries, including an complaint filed by the state of Michigan for its role in overlooking contaminants in Flint’s pipes and making the situation worse. Veolia denies those allegations. "Veolia has consistently maintained that the crisis in Flint is a tragedy, and we find it disappointing that certain news organizations continue to recklessly portray the extent of the company’s work there," the company said in a statement provided to BuzzFeed News after publication of this article.

In Lagos, Veolia is being considered alongside three other companies for the flagship Adiyan II contract, per the Lagos Water Corporation, which would hand over almost two-thirds of the city’s water system to the winning bidder. One, the Spanish multinational giant Abengoa, was behind a disastrous privatization attempt in Bolivia that sparked months of protests before being scrapped. Another shortlisted firm, the Dubai-based Metito, has links via its largest shareholder, Mitsubishi, to investments in the controversial Dakota Access Pipeline, which threatens Indigenous communities in the United States. When the Lagos contract might be awarded is anyone’s guess — a July deadline has since passed, and information on the process isn’t publicly available. (Veolia, for its part, said in its statement to BuzzFeed News that "Veolia has not submitted any proposal to provide services in Lagos."wink

That lack of transparency highlights, environmentalists say, the kind of profit-driven process that undermines good governance and democracy.

“Rather than looking at water from the human-right perspective, the government is looking at 21 million residents and the revenue they can generate,” Philip Jakpor, project manager at Friends of the Earth Nigeria — the local branch of the global environmental group — told BuzzFeed News from Lagos. “The reason they’re not compelled to do the right thing is because a lot of decisions so far have been taken in the dark.”

Music/Radio / 3 Life Lessons Every Lady Should Learn From Davido’s Nwa Baby by Jumkye: 1:43pm On Aug 10, 2018
The 30 Billion Boss, Davido himself has released another blockbuster music video, pardon my french titled “Nwa Baby,” the song tells the story of a gangster armed lady who locked up Davido’s heart, used him for her personal gain and eventually let him go when lost interest in him.

As ladies, we tend to be so clingy we forget that we actually hold the keys to a guy’s heart. Now I am not saying you should use and dump a guy, that is just absolutely savage.

Men often make us think that they make the rules and they can do whatever in a relationship, when in actual reality, we hold the keys to their hearts and there is absolutely nothing anyone can do about it.

“What is my, what is my crime?
Buy you don thief my, don thief my heart
What if I, what if I die?
You must be a bomb o, you blow my, you blow my mind
No be my, no be my mind
But you don change my, don change my plan”

Nwa Baby held Davido’s heart in such a way that she even got him to drive the getaway car when she robbed a store, she was so bold and assertive to the extent that she was not afraid to dance Shaku Shaku at a local bar in broad daylight and at the end, she knew it was time to cut it off and move on.
First lesson

When a man is truly in love with you, he will do anything for you but to get there, you have to make him love you. You have to be amazing enough to make him love you.

Second Lesson

Fear will not get you anywhere, be bold and assertive, never be afraid to take what you want. I am not saying take up armed robbery, I am just saying don’t be afraid to go after what you want. A lot of you are still stuck in jobs you hate because of fear, don’t let fear eat you up. Make a boss move today and be grateful forever.

Third lesson

Know when to cut a guy off, yes a lot of you are still in abusive relationships because you couldn’t figure out when to cut the guy off. Cut him off if you have to, you will be better for it in the end.

Romance / Joro Olumofin Contradicted His Contingency Boyfriend Advice Two Years Ago by Jumkye: 10:30pm On Aug 06, 2018
Two years ago in a blog post titled What is your “Plan B” aka Contingency Plan?, the self proclaimed Love Doctor who is also an alumnus of University of Lagos wrote

"In my Opinion; although a plan B or contingency gives you a relationship insurance which makes a sudden breakup less lethal or detrimental because some people after long relationships don’t find people to date or are even no longer interested in dating I.e emotionally scared. There should be no need for a plan B because it diverts your attention from your primary objective and creates less commitment or devotion. Going into a relationship with a Spare tyre mindset brings extraneous variables and may must times lead to SideChicks/SideGuys. Do what works for you in your own situation and environment."

Fast forward to 2018, this is the advice he now has for young ladies,

The question is what changed?

He won’t have time

Yes, you’ve heard the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote complain of his inability to make time and that is why he is twice divorced in his 60s. Well, guys that is what you get for dating a very rich man who knows that time is money. Every time spent with you affects his money.

More money, more problems

You have to be able to keep up with the lavish lifestyle, the girls, the constant clubbing, the hard drugs and booze, you cannot predict what his mood requires and dating him will become harder especially if you are not that kind of girl.

Money is his answer to everything

He will use the money to buy your anger and disappointment every single time, and guess what, you won’t be able to help that because well, that is why he is a millionaire in the first place, to be able to use the money to buy anything.

Health / World Breastfeeding Week 2018: Three Breastfeeding Myths You Should Know About by Jumkye: 2:05pm On Aug 02, 2018
The World Alliance for Breastfeeding Action (WABA) is a global network of individuals and organisations concerned with the protection, promotion and support of breastfeeding worldwide coordinates the annual World Breastfeeding Week campaign which is slated for August 1 – 7, 2018.

During this week, maternal healthcare workers, nurses, clinics, hospitals all over the world organise activities to foster and encourage infant breastfeeding among nursing mothers. In its World Breastfeeding Week 2018 press release, WABA explained that the 2018 event focuses on how breastfeeding helps prevent malnutrition in all its forms, ensures food security even in times of crisis and breaks the cycle of poverty.

Here are three breastfeeding myth you should know about

Small Breasts don’t produce enough milk

Size doesn’t matter, the breast tissue you need to produce breastmilk grows in response to pregnancy regardless of the breast size.

When breastfeeding, watch the baby not the clock

There are certain myths about the length of time you are allowed to breastfeed for. This doesn’t matter, watch the baby, not the clock. Whether long or short, ensure your baby has had enough to eat. Talk you your doctor if you are afraid the baby is not getting enough to eat.

Breastfeeding is a very reliable form of birth control

Romance / Dating A Cheap Guy Is Way Worse Than Dating A Broke Guy by Jumkye: 1:56pm On Aug 02, 2018
The unemployment and underemployment rate in Nigeria is crazy, you have graduates working N50,000 jobs for four years without a promotion. Their monthly salary is not even enough to buy a good phone or rent an apartment. Majority of the guys you know are broke because of the economic conditions of the country.

But dating a broke guy is way better than dating a cheap guy. Cheap is different from broke because broke is limited by his current financial situation, cheap is not limited by any financial situation, whether he is broke or rich, he is just cheap.

Financial Surveillance

A cheap guy is all over you, he questions how you spend money, tells you what to spend money on and how to spend your money. He is the kind of guy who tells you a 25k watch is too expensive knowing fully well that you can afford it. In his mind, some things are just way too expensive and out of the league. Same class of guys who keep asking you why you are spending 20k on your hair when you have 2k options.

No Value

Cheap guys have no value, they don’t understand the concept of value. He will buy the cheapest pair of jeans he can find and keep replacing them every six months rather than buying a good pair for a good price. He is not frugal, he is just stingy.

No bills to pay

A cheap guy has no bills to pay, he is not interested in helping you pay the bills or offering to pay, in fact, he doesn’t mind spending your money for you. His presence as a man in your life is all the recipe you need to achieve anything. He is the guy who doesn’t say no when you politely offer to pay for lunch. He has no courtesy and he will justify himself by telling you he doesn’t want a liability but hey, he is the liability.

He is too cheap to spend on you

Part of feeling loved includes kind gestures that make you feel human, well don’t expect this from a cheap guy, he will not spend a dime on you and he will justify it by telling you he cannot afford it. He makes no effort even the tiniest effort to spend a dime on you. If you are in this situation, well, spoiler alert, you are dating a cheap guy.

Romance / 3 Reasons Why Money Is Very Important In Marriage by Jumkye: 7:53pm On Jul 25, 2018
Popular musician, Timi Dakolo recently posted about the importance of money in marriages on Instagram. Here is the post.

This got people talking and many gave very valid comments about the importance of money in marriages. Despite the fact that we want to believe that love conquers all, we cannot deny the luxuries money affords us and why it is an important substance in a marriage.

Love might cover all but love needs to pay bills, pay rent, drive a car, have a stable source of income, go for summer.

Money dictates the financial limitations of every couple irrespective of how much they love each other.

Here are three reasons why money is very important in marriage.

One person cannot carry all the financial burden

While this is always the case in most African relationships, it is very unfair for one person to carry all the financial burden of a marriage. To live comfortable these days, couples are expected to make a lot of money, enough to pay bills, entertain each other and afford certain things. If the person expected to carry the financial burden cannot provide, then what happens to the “love”

Love turns sour when there is no money

90% of marriage woes stem from lack of money. Couples fight more when there is no money. Check all married couples around you, just quietly observe them. You will notice that they fight more when they are “broke” but all the fighting stops when there is money. There are so many ladies that stay in unhappy relationships because there is money. “He provides all my needs”, “he gives me a regular monthly allowance,” even if he beats you black and blue.

Financial Future

I always tell people that rush to get married to stop considering what people say and consider their own wellbeing and happiness. You cannot rush into a marriage when you know that you are not sure about your financial future and the quality of life you will be able to provide your kids.

Money allows you to live well, provide for each other and give your children a good life.

Celebrities / Falz “child Of The World” Is A Powerful Masterpiece by Jumkye: 1:27pm On Jul 21, 2018
In 309 seconds, Falz delivered a powerful masterpiece. He passed along three important messages that young girls across Africa need to learn.

Featuring popular actress Toyin Abraham and Bamike Olawunmi, Child of the World is absolutely genius.

Shola’s story is a reflection of our present society’s decadence and the victims of realities that are beyond their control.

Shola’s intention was not to become an aristo girl, she just wanted to make some money and support her mum. Uncle Peter took advantage of her and that opened up an untamable beast and this led to several abortions and eventually HIV.

In a bid to find the easy way out, Shola almost killed herself but she found the courage to tell the world her story and share lessons she paid a huge price to learn.

The first time I listened to the song, I argued that it is not realistic because I know many aristo girls that are happily married and their husbands know nothing about their past.

They drive the biggest cars, married the richest guys, live a good life and from the outside, there are absolutely no consequences.

But hey, it is not the same narrative. Some are not so lucky, some lose their lives in the process, some suffer from infertility because of a botched abortion they did a few years back. It is all about the narrative and Shola’s story is a striking example of the consequences of things going wrong.

Her father left, her mum raised her to be a trophy daughter and one day changed her life, from then on she made a choice that almost cost her soul then she found the courage to tell her story.

This masterpiece that could have only come from Falz the Bahd guy himself teaches us three lessons which are rolled at the end of the video.

Rape is a wicked act and should never be condoned, the victim is never at fault.

HIV/AIDS is not a death sentence

Suicide is never the answer, let your situation make you better, not bitter

Speak up

In an interview with Bustle, she explained that she wears Fulani braids because of her daughter North West who also loves braiding her hair.

When asked what she thought of the backlash, she said “I actually didn’t see backlash. I actually did that look because North said she wanted braids and asked if I would do them with her. So we braided her hair and then we braided my hair.”

She built a $900 million fortune in less than 3 years. This Self Made Woman is gracing Forbes August edition.

Kylie Cosmetics launched two years ago with a $29 “lip kit” consisting of a matching set of lipstick and lip liner, and has sold more than $630 million worth of makeup since, including an estimated $330 million in 2017.

Even using a conservative multiple, and applying our standard 20% discount, Forbes values her company, which has since added other cosmetics like eye shadow and concealer, at nearly $800 million. Jenner owns 100% of it.”

Crime / Matters Arising From The Death Of Female Corps Member, Linda Igwetu by Jumkye: 2:06pm On Jul 05, 2018
Linda Igwetu went out with her friends to celebrate 11 months of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), after all, they will all match to the stadium the next day to collect their certificate.

The dreaded NYSC has come to an end, Linda didn’t envisage that what started out to be a night of fun and laughter will be her last day alive.

She was gunned down by a policeman named Benjamin Peters. She died at the hospital.

It’s an unfortunate incident but one that calls to question the role of the three arms of the government.

First, Why are police officers walking around with guns indiscriminately

We have a security issue but this should not excuse the fact that our police officers move around with guns. Every single day, you will see a policeman who is not on duty moving around with a firearm.

I have taken Danfo with a policeman who had a gun. The question is what is the purpose of holding guns around openly in a civilian administration.

Should policemen be allowed to carry guns when they are off duty? What is the protocol for carrying guns around in public places when there is no imminent danger at hand? Should policemen going on illegal patrol be allowed to carry guns?

The brutality of Nigerian Twitter

Nigerians started pointing fingers at the hospital for not treating the victim. When they had clearly explained that it wasn’t their fault. Nobody called for the prosecution of the officer that fired the shot, everyone was out to roast the hospital for not treating the patient.

When a Twitter Celebrity tweets pray for Nigeria in light of so many unfortunate events, Nigerian Twitter will jump on it, no one would bother to critically analyse the failure of the Nigerian state.

The herd mentality is usually in full force, however, why do we always have to pas around the blame and roast someone, why can’t we just ask ourselves critical questions and profer solutions.

Even the Nigerian senate joined the conversation without all the facts when the hospital is in the same town. All you have to do is properly investigate first.

Mandatory Treatment and Care for Victims of Gunshot Act, 2017 makes provisions for compulsory treatment and care for victims of gunshots and for other related matters.

The question is after signing this bill into law, has the Nigerian senate created a helpline or anything to ensure this is enforced?

NYSC

According to 2015 figures, the government budgets between N70 and N74billion annually to mobilize, orientate, and pay allowances of corps members nationwide.

Every year, no less than ten corps members lose their life during orientation or after orientation either due to the healthcare at the NYSC camp or road accidents or political violence occurring in their place of primary assignment.

Why is a N74b commitment a potential death sentence to the thousands of graduates that serve yearly.

Has the government put any tangible regulaton in place to adequately protect the lives of her young graduates?

The NYSC oath reads

In pursuance of our Aspiration to build a United, Peaceful, Prosperous, Hate-free, Egalitarian Society and a great Nation and of our motto “Service and Humility”.
I
Member of the National Youth Service Corps
Hereby pledge to follow at all the times the leadership of those in Authority irrespective of their social and educational background and in particular, I shall:
(a) At all times and in all places think, act, regard myself and speak first as a Nigerian, before anything else;
(b) Be proud of the fatherland, appreciate and cherish the culture, the tradition, arts and language of the nation;
(c) Be prepared to serve honestly, faithfully and if need be, pay the supreme sacrifice for the fatherland;
(d) Be well-informed about the history, geography, economy and the resources of Nigeria;
(e) Regard fellow Nigerians as my brothers and sisters and myself as my brother’s keeper;
(f) Have a healthy attitude to work and play. I shall not only be ready to work in any part of the country to which I am deployed, but also genuinely identify myself with the problems and aspirations of the people of the area in which I work;
(g) Tackle difficulties and challenges in a disciplined and self-reliant manner, constitutionally pursuing grievances and properly channeling such for redress;
(h) See myself as a leader who must give effective leadership by my transparent, honest and selfless service; (i) Detest and shun bribery and all forms of corruption and nepotism;
(j) Be courteous and polite to all and sundry;
(k) Be obedient without being slavish;
(l) Always remember the motto and strive continuously to live up to the ideals of the National Youth Service Corps during and after my service year.
So help me God: AMEN

Be prepared to serve honestly, faithfully and if need be, pay the supreme sacrifice for the fatherland;

Linda paid the supreme sacrifice for the fatherland but her fatherland didn’t pay the supreme sacrifice for her.

May her soul rest in perfect peace.

Ugandan social media users now have to pay a total of 200 Ugandan( N18) shillings per day to access social media services like WhatsApp, Twitter, Facebook and Skype.

The social media levy came not long after the President, Yoweri Museveni complained that the idleness of youths on social media was costing the country time and resources.

Telecoms providers in the country MTN, Airtel, and Africell recently issued a joint statement informing customers of how to pay the new tax with mobile money services of MTN and Airtel.

According to the Uganda Communications Commission, out of Uganda’s 41 million people, 23.6 million are mobile phone subscribers and 17 million use the internet.

Education / Federal University Lokoja Expels 13 Innocent Final Year Students by Jumkye: 2:33pm On Jun 30, 2018
Facebook user cries out after being expelled by Federal University Lokoja.

Read what she wrote

"My name is Lydia Lawal, I studied Economics at Federal University lokoja.
After 4 years of blood and sweat my university handed me an expulsion letter unjustly. Please I want all well meaning Nigerians to help share my story till we get justice.
I gained admission to Federal University lokoja in 2013, as an orphan I had to work in Lagos during the long vacations to pay my school fees. And from my first semester to 400 level first semester I was on second class upper with a 4 point cgpa. The issue that led to the expulsion of 13 students in my class started during my final exams when there was an alleged examination leakage where some students were said to have bought questions from a driver. I happened to be the departmental president at the time of the crises and I was called by my head of department to answer some questions concerning the issue which I knew nothing about (prior to my exams I lost my kid brother which made me lose interest in social gatherings, I kept to myself through out the exams). All this happened last year we called back in October to rewrite all our papers under 4 days with less than a week's notice. The university management refused to release the result of the new exam, refused to convok my department with others and didn't mobilize us for NYSC. I was shocked that after almost 9months the university management called 13 of us which includes the best student in my class with a cgpa of 4.9 to come and pick up an expulsion letter, and our names pasted all over the school as expelled students. The Vice chancellor claims that as long as you were invited to the exam malpractice committee, then it's enough reason to believe one is involved.Please I am asking for an human right activist to take up our case. My mother is a poor widow that cannot afford the services of a lawyer.
Please don't let this injustice be swept under carpet , we believe they are playing politics with our lives"

Celebrities / King Tonto On Linda Ikeji TV Is A Glimpse Into The Movie Star’s Private Life by Jumkye: 2:24pm On Jun 28, 2018
Tonto Dikeh is one of the most controversial movie stars in Nigeria. She is known and loved for her ability to be vocal about her beliefs and her larger than life lifestyle that is all emcompassing work, family and philantrophy.

https://youtu.be/OR7PEhZ6qT8

Love her or hate her, you can’t help but wonder how she is able to combine all these facets of her life and still be as amazing as possible.

I have been fascinated with her for quite some time now especially after her marriage saga, I loved the way she handled the aftermath and the courage it took to even come out in the first place.

So fast forward to a few days ago, Linda Ikeji announced that her TV app was available, I rushed to Google Play to download the app so I can finally watch King Tonto after months of replaying teasers.

The first episode was quite interesting to watch, I liked the way each episode picks a facet of her life to focus on.

There was an episode where the Camera followed Tonto to church and we saw the religious angle of her life. She even got a special welcome from the Pastor himself, lols.

The episode where she threw a house party after moving into a new serviced apartment gave us a glimpse into the harsh realities of celebrity status. Tonto wanted to throw a party, she doesn’t have a lot of friends in Lagos because she is not based in Lagos.

She revealed a cetain level of lonliness only celebrities understand. As a celebrity, you don’t really have lots of friends because obviously there are so many haters in the industry.

Now the part where you have all been waiting for, the cosmetic surgery part. Currently there are only five episodes of King Tonto on Linda Ikeji TV. I have seen every clip in the trailer except the full cosmetic surgery clip.

In Episode 3, she did have a consultation with Dr Ayo, the Plastic Surgeon who explained the duration of the procedure to her.

During a conversation with Tonto Dikeh, Halima Abubakar also talked about her Fibriod, an illness she was battling with at that point.
Big Ups

Tonto was real every step of the way, she was straight forward and she was just Tonto. So we got the reality TV experience.
Thumbs Down

Some scenes were unneccessary, they just made us bored then Vugo is a spoil sport, it was just excessive.

All in all, I will give King Tonto a 5/10 but don’t take my word for it, I am no expert and I don’t like dashing out accolades.
