Yeah, I comprehend, just as Bespokeset was able to identify his canine out of for sale. This words of his got me so emotional the very first time I read it

"When you've owned a dog from 7 weeks old till almost 6 months old you can almost sniff it from afar not to talk of markings."
yeah yu just cited a perfect example

I'm not talking about exercising the dog, it's sure to exercise a dog "sometimes/most times"
Won't they release the dog at night? That's where I'm hitting at. You can have a cage or chain it but will you cage it at night or chain it?
Chaining a dog at night has cause so many dog owners losing their dog to wild animals or infected ones, even to burglars.
yu have a point though

Bro, kudos keeping your thread running...... I read up that Basenjis are ranked top among the least trainable dogs..... Have you tried teaching your canine obedience command (sit, stop, go, come)? If yes, how did it go?
it is true that basenjis are among the least trainable dog and they don't bark my dogs bark and are not basenjis but mongrels(unknown origin/breed) or as people like to call them ekuke as for commands the older dog understands simple commands it was not too difficult though, as for the little guy the only thing he knows now is his name and he took to it quickly as from next month I will start obedience training

Wow. Been a long time on this thread.... I guess canine communication was being referred to by the SIGNAL.
My man, long time no see, how you dey?
okikiosibodu my man I greet yu too...... Ohk now I get It well it's true dogs use their tails to show humans how they feel but if yu are very close to yur dog yu can tell their reaction without their tail I for example notice how my dog moods changes when faced with different people and situations and most times tails of dogs are not fully docked it is usually dock at the 3rd vertebrae am not talking from what I read online but from personal experience

quite educational
PetsRe: Having A Dog In An Unfenced House/Crib Is Bad To Worst. by Jungpablo: 2:53pm On May 24, 2018

People need to understand the fact that if your crib / shade isn't fenced, it's prior to the dog, going about having various diseases, bitten by wild street dogs or other stray animals.
Chaining your dog from morning to night ain't gonna do justice to the fact that, it need to be loose & have its own free time & space in having fun in the compound. People tend in giving excuse that it doesn't matter but of course it does matter. Or else you want to have it inside your crib for life.
Feel free to give your opinion on here. wink wink
there are dogs living in fenced yards that are always on chain or in their crate(i have seen and i still see many) they rarely get any form of exercise other than barking all day reason becos neighbours or some family members don't like dogs so they must be kept far away on The other hand yu live in an unfenced yard but make it a habit to exercise and tire out your dog daily before sending him to its cage which is better?

Tail ducking has its advantages and disadvantages.
The tail of a dog is used for swimming, balance when they run and hit a curve and its for signals.
I won't like any part of my dog to be tampered with except for healtt issues.
how many dogs have yu seen swimming in Nigeria? have yu seen a dog without tail that ran and fell? and which signals are yu talking about

I tend to look at it as a symbiotic relationship...they benefit from us and we benefit from them as well.

My dogs offer me friendship, loyalty, security, and may also endure a little pain on my behalf...and I'm okay with this since I also have things to offer to them like food, shelter, love, healthcare, etc. And, by the way, I also go through all sorts of pain from time to time on their behalf including financial pain, emotional pain and even physical pain occasionally.

All I'm trying to say is that I don't consider a once in a lifetime act of ear cropping or tail docking as cruel, as long as I fulfil my own part of the relationship. I love my dogs to bits and they know it.

It would be a completely different story, however, if I continuously maltreat them, like maybe not feeding them, torturing them, making them engage in dog fights, not caring about their health, or the way they feel, and so on.
I agree with yu there are other things to offer a dog other than labelling aesthetics procedures as cruelty

and ehm yu can go through my thread yu will love it

Na so una go Dey deceive gullible Nigerians with your ignorance. How did you come about the Lion Cubs? Do you think it’s that easy to walk into her den and pick a lioness’ cub?

Young man, those are spotted hyenas and please stop fooling yourself.
this is too harsh how can yu talk like this when yu are not so sure at least yu could have gone through his profile and yu would have seen he is into exotic animals and now everybody is proving yu wrong that those are actually lion cubs

And, by the way, all of these procedures are carried out on our children on a daily basis without any form of anaesthesia...
very true Doc very true as for me I can't buy a Rott or a BB with intact tail or a doberman, cane corso, Pitt bull, Caucasian etc with full ears partly becos when I knew those breed I knew them with docked tails or cropped ears, growing up I even thought that was how God created them. docked tails or cropped ears is their traditional look & right and I will always uphold doggie tradition there is no cruelty in it people still circumcise, pierce and do other things to their body all in the name of beautification which is not bad so I don't see anything wrong in trying to make our pets beautiful and in the end the pups will not remember anything and it won't affect it temperament or anything becos there are intact dogs that are haywire + some breeds are even prone to ear infection so cropping even helps to avoid things like that in the future plus many other benefits all this cruelty talk is just appeal to pity

To everyone:
What I did was.......

Get a bottle(can, rubber )of condemned oil(used engine oil). This can be gotten from Mechanic's workshop or ur Gen engine oil.
Get a pack of cotton wool.

Apply d oil with d cotton wool on the surface.
This helps drives d flies away.
They won't perch on the injury allowing it to heal properly.

Do this twice a day at first (depends on the severity)
Then once a day when it has reduced.
Once in two days and so on.
Discontinue once the surface is dried up.
Re-apply once it continues to bleed again(due to play or scratching ) or u notice flies perching.

Do not try dis on humans or any other animal.

It worked perfectly with my three dogs. All their injuries have healed. You will only notice d stain of the oil wen it has healed.

I know it will work for you guys. If u have any further questions just mention me. Later.
injury to the ear is always frustrating for every dog owner thanks for the tip

I took my 11 weeks old Alsatian Pup for a jog yesterday . . . He was gasping excessively afterwards . . And I fed him milk and water after the exercise. . . . Hope am doing him some good. . ??
a jog at this stage should be too much he is not strong enough to jog yu should take him for walks short walks, teach him tricks and commands, teach him to retrieve as time goes on yu can take him for long walk and incorporate jogging into his schedule
