juniorsworld: Hello all,
I'm looking to depart Nigeria to the US, soon, where I know they don't require any PCR test, at least, for Texas. The plane I'm boarding also doesn't require a PCR test.
My question is will Murtala Airport or the Nigeria govt require that I get one?
Arrival in Nigeria means you must get one but I have not seen anything for departure from Nigeria in the US Consulate website, in any airline website or online. Plus, it'll make no sense to get one even though the airline and my destination don't require it.
Oh, also the layover country does not require it. Nevermind. For the people curious, the NCDC states that getting a PCR test depends entirely on both the airline and travel destination. |

Chromex: both of you are dumb
Black live matter started during Obama presidency which Biden is vice. Because trigger happy white cops won't stop killing blacks. shooting like this has pretty much become almost daily thing in america since 2000 while most go unprotested because no video like this to get people outraged.
Now thanks to social media and smartphone, people can get this video out to let people know what is going on in america.
But stupid people like you two have to make it about politics. Go and check the stats instead of talking. FBI stats show that black people getting killed unarmed by white cops is at best double digits. In 2019, it was 9 but for white people it was 19. The most killing of black people comes from overwhelmingly other black people. Shay you've heard of Tony Timpa? No, you haven't cause CNN only shows when white cops shoot black people. The problem with us black people around the world is we are too emotional, logic no dey. This is why Africa is the way it is, this is why African Americans get surpassed by immigrants in their own land. How will you be protesting for Jacob Blake not you won't protest for Secoriea Turner, small pikin killed in gang shootings, which has killed more black people than the KKK could have ever done? Senselessness never commot for black people head I swear |

nigeriainfo: This guy is armed and to the best of my knowledge the two police officers need to protect their own life too. But they should have shot him in the leg though American police are trained to eliminate the target by shooting center mass because it's easier to hit and you won't worry about missing, which can kill bystanders. In addition, shooting at the leg when adrenaline is high is almost a guaranteed miss unless you're highly, and I mean, highly trained. Also, shooting the leg can be almost certain death is the person isn't sent to the hospital quickly and the bullet hits a femoral artery. The shooting was unfortunate but justified. |

There was a generic mail sent to to me and upon arrival at Isolo, they didn’t have any of our passports. Go to VI DHL office (Muri Okunola) which I believe it’s not blocked by protesters. Thanks. Muri is where I do my pick ups. |

Abiodun95: Good day Erudite Scholars... I want to make an inquiry:
Can I attend the visa interview without having the sevis receipt but only the the transaction receipt from the postal order?
I have scheduled an expedite interview with the Embassy but the sevis fee receipt is not forthcoming... You should be able to print out the SEVIS receipt from the DHS.gov website which is what I did. They should've sent an email to you when you paid it as well. Then you can print it. But you won't get the visa without the full SEVIS receipt. |

RukayatAkanji: Hi guys, pls anyone here that I've made use of FedEx for shipment. I made the payment for the shipment on Friday lastweek, through UEMS eshipmentglobal.com. I've been checking the site since then, still the same information I'm seeing on it, info like: not yet shipped, your university has been notified. I wonder if the document have been received from the university at all. Anyone that have used them or know how they work should say something pls. You should receive constant emails from when it begins shipment. But it all depends on when your DSO sends the I20. Communicate with your DSO first turn contact UEMS. |

I just wish Nigeria was in a better international relationship with the world, so people won't be getting denied in such embarrassing ways like I saw. |

Earlier this day, I got my visa approved.
My case is likely drastically different from a lot of people which helps.
I moved do the US in 05 as a dependent under my father and pretty much did my schooling there from teenage years to Masters.
I actually came to Nigeria for an immigrant visa interview since my family qualified but it was denied due to the petitioner's death. Hence this interview to travel back.
I am pretty familiar with the process and the tough interview plus I can speak with a US accent. All these things pretty much helped and is probably unique to me.
For the things that we all share, make sure to not tell stories and even if they ask to describe something for them, make it short 30 words or less.
In my interview, I literally spoke in words or very short phrases and answered exactly what was asked. Also, match the level of directness and volume of the VO.
Sometimes they will ask you a question once and then again, after asking other questions. If your answer to the same question is different, it's over.
Breathe and calm down so you can answer questions quickly and concisely.
Oh, again I stress, don't tell long stories. They are not interested!!! Keep it short and simple (KISS). |

Honestly to be safe, you should just get the real, original I20 cause that email that went around last week was very clear on their expectations. |

Please complete your transaction at this time. What could be wrong please? There's a limit to how much you can view the calendar page: twice. That's it. Once you pass that limit, you won't see the page until 12AM D.C. time, which is basically the next day. |

Cocao: These dates are fast filling. When i first logged in it was November 9th,now its up to 13th Smh I arrived on the scheduling page at 10:20am and didn't see any dates. Is it because I've originally been selecting Lagos as my interview and pickup place? I selected Abuja as my interview place and Lagos as my pickup place but it showed no dates. Do the two have to be both in Abuja or both in Lagos in order to see scheduling dates? |

It is so annoying especially since I cannot schedule an appointment with the old ds160 form. Can someone try this from their end? I will like to know if it is something I am doing wrong... abeg edaakun. That usually happens. Just wait for later today or the next day. kastgeraldino: I wish you all that are going for visa interviews goodluck. I can imagine how stressful it is preparing for the interviews. Thank goodness my school gave me a deferral because there is no way I would have had the energy to go through any kind of visa-related stuff, especially given how terse and intense that email sounded. Good luck folks! Practicing, in most cases, is not a good idea because you will come off sounding rehearsed to interviewers. Just remember your talking points, be confident and go into the interview. You need to be natural. Ofc, some people here will disagree which is fine. |

fairheart: No need to rush anything, so you'll not make expensive mistakes that you jeopardize your chances. They just opened the site, and I am sure that before the end of the day, those who need dates will be able to book.
The 6-day slots are more than enough for all F, J & M applicants in Nigeria. I am sure that during normal operational hours, the U.S embassy interviews more than 100 applicants per day. So, if that figure is close, that is like 600 F, M, J applicants for the entire slots. Guys, all of you will have date! Relax. Also, I think they only want to interview in Lagos, which I think is fine.
If date is not showing on your appointment-scheduling profile yet, give it time, or wait 7PM or tomorrow. The dates will not finish. Is this really the case? All I've been getting is false hope since this lockdown started smh. After all, they just mentioned those 6 times and nothing else. So how do we know if they will have any more slots? I even went to pay for the MRV even though I've had one that the US Embassy was supposed to re-verify but didn't. I thought there'll be multiple slots for each time, not just one, which seems like it was the case. Very disappointing, can't lie. |

Sharon8: Hi everyone, I have previously submitted my ds-160 form which had the school's resumption date which has passed now. Please, do I need to fill another ds-160 form or can the previous one suffice? By the way, my program has been deferred to spring 2021 but I am yet to receive the new I-20 It will be safer to fill out another DS 160 honestly, but use the same MRV to do that if it hasn't expired. You'll need to wait for the new I-20 and it has to be hard copy and original, not emailed. For your start date, you're fine. For people like me whose start date has passed, we need to ask our DSO to help change the date. |

Right now, because my interviews were cancelled by NIV, in June, they told me that they would look into reverifying my MRV receipt once US Embassy opens and they've been telling me to wait for an email from US Embassy.
But with this email coming out now, I might as well get a new MRV payment. Does anyone know if this is something I can do? Waiting for a response for something that's taken months right now is too much of a risk. |

slimmy2005: Go and defer your admission, no America for you this 2020. No matter how many motivational speech you drop, it does not change anything.
Put your time to good use. Embassy not likely to open till September (Fall semester resumption gone ). If you're chasing a BS, you would be right but if it's a Masters degree, the professors and advisors tend to be amazingly liberal, at least in my case. I had professors who were fine with me not showing up for in person courses and only doing things online, due to covid19, only if I was sure I could handle it. I have two online courses and one in person course this semester, which my International Advisor said is fine. For the one course that's in person, I'll simply convince the professor to let me take the course online until the consulate opens, which is no problem. I don't think this will work for Bachelors because in the US culture, people who take masters tend to be looked at as adults who may have jobs, children and other obligations thus they are given a huge amount of freedom by professors. |
