Depending on the charging / power requirements of the tricycle, one can have charging stations for recharging the batteries.

How long can a full charge run the tricycle on average & what is the average battery lifespan are pertinent questions.
I will build one if the patronage will be high

Well you need to check up with jumia again. I bet you they can't sell it for 130 because they don't even buy it for that price. The colours doesn't make any difference as I told you before. We are the cheapest reseller of PRAG product. We're the only one that can give you PRAG 4kVA 24V/48V H for 136k. The inverter comes with Standard Battery Cable and AC IN/OUT wires so you don't have to bother yourself with the cable sizings.

If you are interested contact us it and for any other PRAG products you see on www.buyright.com.

I honestly believe no one is doubting the US batts. Most of us including myself are always afraid of change. I have personally r esearched the US batts and I discovered its no diff from our beloved trojan.
Let me share my experience:
pls note: all I write here 2nite is my personal opinion and does not in any way mean I am 100% correct.

Few months ago, I discovered one of my trojans had an internal injury which made the batt read zero volt. I tested all 3 cells and discovered one of them is not connected. (I don't know what caused it).
I knew that if I open the battery, ill be able to fix the problem. As an academician, I began seroius research to find out how the internal structure of the T105 batt look like. My research led me to us batts. I can boldly say that" its either trojan copied us batt or vice versa".
I used the schematics I found from us batt to repair my failed T105 . I observed that both batts are d same in cell technology and internal design. it contained all the feats advertised by trojan. I dont know who is copying who among the two giants.
I even saw a video of how us batts are made but trojan kept theirs a secret. Trojans remain the market leader maybe because of their "packaging" but I believe us batts are similar to trojans.
I hope to use the us L16 for my next client.
Though, I don't think I have ever posted on this forum that I install for people but by d grace of God, I'll do this with us batts to show everyone that there's nothing wrong with them and I personally is not in doubt.
I am aware a friend (pharyn) is likely to be the first to use them within the nairaland solar forum, I want to encourage him to tell us how it went since he has now tasted both worlds.

And for those who cant afford both usa batts, I can boldly say that the mercury tubular being peddled by that aggressive marketer is a very good alternative. I had d privilege of installing 12 units of them with 15 units of 300w yashi mono panels and the result was impressive. I took time to observe the cells and was amazed as I doubted if they were mercury or trojan L16. (pls don't argue except u av seen both side by side).
But I have a strong feeling that mercury may reduce their standard in subsequent batches but the MADE IN USA BATTS(trojans and US) can never compromise standard.
I think cell efficiency will be the difference. But one must outlast the other

Run out before morning? That shouldn't be happening. My 5pm to 8am consumption varies between 1.8kWh and 2.8kWh depending on usage of fans and the number of them running. At that, I still run a 1kW kettle for 30 - 60 minutes almost every morning. Never gone below 50%, that I can recall. That's an open-circuit voltage of roughly 48.4V (estimate) and around 48.0V - 48.2V with an idling 3kW inverter.

For you ...

48V (nominal system rating) * 200Ah (bank Ah capacity) * 0.5 (anticipated DoD) * 0.85 (estimated inverter inefficiency)
= 4,080Wh bank capacity till you reach 50% DoD

If load estimates are right, (4,080 - 2,450)Wh = 1,630Wh to spare.
Granted that the CC and inverter have some self-consumption, your reserve to 50% DoD would be lesser. Unless they have quite high self-consumption (I know my PowerStar 3kW consumes nearly 100W when idling in a closed circuit and about 10W in standby mode), you shoudn't be exceeding 50% DoD, much less running out of power. Look for some rogue consumption somewhere in your system (backfeeding of panels in the dark, AVR left on, parasitic loads, etc). Give feedback. Let other members contribute their experience and data as well.
@ bolded should be looked into

Hi JUO,
I desist from using several units of Charge Controllers together on same batt bank to avoid Cut-Out interactions.

When one Controller sees voltage from another (instead of batt voltage) as High Enough Voltage and then cuts charging.
This is similar to what you get connecting a batt charger to Solar setup.
ok sir. Noted

Since your solar is 3.2kw and your system is 24v. Why not use 3*40a? I have 40a epsolar that can max out 1000w on 24v. You can even start with one or two and upgrade as time goes on. Good luck

A motivating story too. Abunafiu here is aware I ran a modified sine-wave inverter for about 13 years until I switched to LED lights (which don't do well on anything but pure sine-wave power).

My initial package was a 12V QVC (Chinese product) inverter with two truck batteries. Nifty product with surprisingly robust performance. Made my fans hum like crazy though. Over the years, I swapped out many of these 200Ah 1V truck batteries only to realise both the type of battery and charging current were wrong. My bad. I had to work within both my budget and knowledge. And "available resources" (who had ever seen an RE battery then?)

Then came in this Mercury inverter. 24V with a lot of promise. Didn't take long for me to trash it and return to the QVC. Moved on to a 24V Sukam Falcon. Beautiful inverter with excellent performance. If only the charge current could be higher, I'd have stuck with it. All these were done with max expenditure of N150,000 at any point in time. Somewhere along the line, I discovered LiFePO4 batteries. I kid you not when I say they are the best there is. Four of these babies would power my house nonstop for 60 hours. Best of all, they can be discharged up 80% (20% SoC) with insignificant degradation in performance. Mine even had automatic cutoff at 90% discharge. They also cost a fortune so I wouldn't recommend them unless you have a need for them.

Then I met Abunafiu. I had never seen anyone use 16 RE batteries for anything other than commercial purposes before then. I found motivation and, with his urging, I tossed out my batteries and inverter and went for broke. Equipment supplied by Frankie. 8 RE batteries and a 3kW PowerStar inverter later, I was smiling to the heavens. Heck, the inverter even had variable charging current adjustment. Didn't come cheap but certainly affordable.

Two months later, I acquired 240W PV panels × 6 and an iTracer IT6415ND CC. Double-shielded 10mm telecom cables link the panels to the CC. CC, inverter and interconnects are linked via 35mm cables. Batteries linked via 50mm cables. Courtesy of extensive research and Abunafiu's urging that I should get the best I could afford. A month later, I added 3 more solar panels.

While writing this article, power supply has been muck in my neighbourhood and this is my 7th day off-grid with uninterrupted power supply. My record is 10 days (not because I had to switch but because grid power was restored).

Boil water in electric kettles in the morning (1kw and 1.2kW ratings), fridge and freezer come on by 9am - 10am, pump water around midday and I power the washing machine whenever I desire). Routine devices are powered at will. Even when there's grid supply, I routinely switch to backup power at night because at some variable point during the night, the power would go off and I can't be bothered to get up and switch over.

CF bulbs are important and I spent about N45,000 five years ago to change all my bulbs to A-grade types. Two months ago, I spent much more than that to swap them out for LED bulbs and lamps. No regrets. Interestingly, most of my original CF bulbs (now five years old) are very alive. Changed about 10% in five years. Had to give them all out.

My point? It's true going green is capital intensive but you really can start not only small but equip yourself in stages. With the mounting global energy crises, we all should give renewable energy more than just a thought (wind and micro-hydro are viable alternatives I've seen in action).
