Shma2020: Here, We talk with evidence. we were on pictorial show before the topic was suddenly shifted to countering the lies of your brother.
I told you KU and Uon are above that university. UOn has more or less 15braches (all with concrete infrastructure) for KU, I've given you the stats. It's beyond UOG.
For the case of comparison, we can start down here with mkU(mount kenya university)
And is it a new world standard? Or it's a Kenya standard?
KNUST Mall is called Jubilee Mall and its located at their commercial enclave. Would you say it's not their because it bears a different name?
Why am I surprised? even Legon City Mall saf ischock you
The kid is shocked that a university mall can be that big Soon as he saw 20,000 square meters he started making noise
Funny enough, a mall does not even count as university infrastructure... Because infrastructure on a university campus mostly are it hostel facilities, teaching and lecture halls, offices, sporting and health facilities, roads, electricity, water and internet services, labs and etc
vankelvin: You guys are confused bunch. We know Kenya have more public Universities(numbers) than us but we have the top most, bigger, beautiful and more organized unis than you. That's the argument.
When we talk of number of Universities we mean number of individual University institutions not satellite campus. Are those satellite campuses not under the main campus/ administration?
How many public unis do you have in Kenya? How many private unis do you have? And how many technical unis do you have?
funny people When did you guys start university education in your country? mtsew
Shma2020: Read to understand. There are 30 public universities , 30 chartered private universities and 30 universities with Letter of Interim Authority (LIA).
In a nutshell, we have more than 90 recognized schools of higher learning in Kenya.
I counted only 24 public universities
if we are adding unis with interim authority letter, Ghana will be having 110 institutes of higher education
If we were to go by satellite campuses, you'll run because KU alone has branches in nearly every county - more or less 20 some which stretches outside kenyan boundaries. UON the big goat itself has its branch in nearly all east african countries.
For instance, these are KU branches.
Kenyatta University The following Research Profiles are affiliated with Kenyatta University: (Re)searching the Middle Class in Subsaharan Africa: A mulitdisciplinary Kick-off Workshop
Kenyatta University (KU), is a multi-campus public university in Kenya. The main campus of Kenyatta University is located at Kahawa, Kiambu County in Ruiru Constituency, approximately 18 kilometres (11 mi), by road, northeast of the central business district of Nairobi, the capital city of Kenya, off of the Nairobi-Thika Road.
The university offers bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral degrees through twelve campuses, as of March 2016. The degrees awarded include those in medicine and law. The university has open-learning, e-learning, school-based, part-time and full-time teaching. Kenyatta University is accredited by the Kenya Commission of University Education, the Inter-University Council for East Africa, the Africa Association of Universities, the International Association of Universities and the Commonwealth Universities.
The list of KU campuses includes the following locations:[7]
"Main Campus – Kahawa, Nairobi Ruiru Campus – Ruiru Parkland Campus – Parklands Kitui Campus – Kitui Mombasa Campus – Mombasa City Centre Campus – Nairobi Central Business District Nyeri Campus – Nyeri Nakuru Campus – Nakuru Kericho Campus – Kericho Dadaab Campus –Dadaab Embu Campus – Embu Arusha Campus – Arusha, Tanzania Kigali Campus – Kigali, Rwanda"
vankelvin: You don't get it? You Kenyans count satellite campuses as part of the number of Unis you have but we don't do that in Ghana.
University of Ghana for instance have 3 different campuses in Accra alone but we count them all as one University since they are all under one administration.
We have University of Ghana, Atomic energy campus University of Ghana, City campus University of Ghana, Main Campus and other Learning centers
Same with other Universities of which UCC and UEW have the most satellite and learning centers
oh! So they count satellite campuses as different universities?
The smallest Region is now the most populated region in the country now.
I think it's about time they spread development evenly across all regions.. And also discussions on relocating the National Capital to the central part of the country should start.
If care is not taken Greater Accra will face a serious land and security challenges..
The mall I showed you is labeled as university city mall - unicity mall. It's inside the campus and fully owned by the campus.
For your case, you're really struggling to defend your dwarf country. That mall is very ugly and it's not inside the university, It's located in the boundary where the campus sit. Furthermore, it's not owned by the university, university is just acting like a supportive business for market boost and the owner of the mall is the one who benefits not campus.
Your best uni can't stand our number.
See how you are struggling, all because there is no university mall in your country that is bigger than the Legon City mall. Ask google map for help and you will see that it sits on the university campus , just beside the University hospital
It is called Legon City Mall because it sits on the university campus ( hence named after the university).
Shma2020: We're talking about university malls. Malls that universities own, not a mall close to the campus. Should I also post garden city mall because it's located near KU?
And don't fool yourself, your biggest university cannot appear anywhere in top 5 in Kenya.
We are talking about universities malls and the university does not necessarily have to own it.
Once it sits on the university campus, it is a campus mall. Legon Mall sits on the university campus...
Good you know you've lost
My biggest university does not need to appear in the top 5 secondary schools in Kenya ( that is what your universities are compared to Ghanaian unis)
Now, be bold and post an Olympic size pool on a Kenyan university campus or stadiums or various sporting court.
Shma2020: swimming pools, basket ball courts, tennis courts, football pitches, student shuttles, hostels are compulsory for any big university.
Now show us those malls & stadium you're talking about .
Good you said big universities
Since Kenyan universities are small, one building universities, I can automatically say they all don't have them..
You can Google Legon City Mall for UoG, Jubilee Mall for KNUST, UCC has it own and so has UDS and several others These malls are bigger than any University mall on your country
Shma2020: Ku has a mall, a hospital, brt busses etc inside it.
KNUST has several malls in it, several hospitals, several football pitches and a stadium, several basketball courts, tennis courts ... Olympic size smimming pools, several student shuttles, over 20 huge hostels on it campus
rvp20182: To learn about what. This your pathetic situation as of 2016
The Ghanaian government still acts as a large provider of skills in the country and there are approximately 200 public TVET institutes, with about 40,000 students; the Ministry of Education’s technical training institutes account for over 70% of this enrolment
Learn about what TVET curricular looks like, what govt policy framework should look like to support it growth and what programs to offer.
Ghana runs the most successful TVET program on the continent..
