Warning! If you don't want to be chased after by a Lady with a premature long D"I"c-k called BK/Male babe 97-90, STAY OFF THIS THREAD! He/she is in his/her heat period! Stu'pi'd A's's "G'AY" Mofo! |
Gayigaskia:If Yar'adua was as "clueless" as Jonathan, we'd have been able to implement technologies that has been in existence for years but have not been implemented in Nigeria. You better go and bury yourself cos' he is joining the race. I prefer a half Jonathan than a thousand Yar'aduas and IBBs. |
Syenite:What the heck is Ahmed Musa doing in that team? What happened to Sanni Emmanuel? |
canuck:When you dint make a proposal to him, how do you expect him to find u? Bring out a modern proposal and present, let's see if he will not invite you. Don't just sit at home and call this a scam, when a Nigerian youth made an effort to be heard. Yes! GSM Tracker is not new, but at least an effort is being made by the government to ensure it is used to solve a disturbing situation. This is good because it is giving the Nigerian youths a sense of belonging. canuck:Your statement in bold is very ironic and hypocritical. Would you prefer that he doesnt tackle the issue at all? Going by what you are saying, our past leaders that refused to tackle even the symptoms were better than GEJ. Does it seem to you like he is not making some effort to tackle the problems that you mentioned? Since you know better, why not propose your way of tackling the issues so that he can call you to come and apply it? |
The problem with Nigeria is that majority of Nigerians suffer from "ITK" (I too know) when it comes to soccer. It is this "ITK" Virus that is holding our soccer back. Worst of all is that those with "ITK" actually know nothing. Siasia has proved himself. He should have been the eagles coach a long time ago because it would ensure his transition to the National team with the boys that he groomed from the U-20 level. But "ITK" did not allow NFF and some blind Nigerian soccer supporters to give him that chance. Now they are judging him with his failure in Egypt, with a team that the same "ITK" people begged him to save from the edge of hell, which they fell into anyway. |
It is a heck of a ride to get married to a foreigner as an Igbo man. Even getting married to a lady from another tribe in Nigeria is really not easy for an Igbo man due to the antagonistic consequences that will follow. It is all about culture However, this trend is changing because most Igbo parents have started developing global mindsets. For an Igbo man to marry a non-Igbo lady, he needs to deeply convince his parents with alot of insistence, or simply damn his parents and go ahead with his marriage with a foreigner. Can you honestly continue to live with him when your chemistry with him has reduced, and the stress of marriage is on you? In that situation will you remember that he has been disowned by his people? He is probably aware of how easy it is to divorce in the U.S., If that happens to him, don't you now that he'll be in a heck of a bumpy ride? He is not American remember? Well, I think if he knows that you can stand by him no matter what, he'll be able to damn the consequences. As it stands, he is not sure that getting married to you is the best for him. @Poster: The Igbo guy may really love you, but simply CANNOT marry you because of the above stated reasons. I'll advise you to move on with your life. |
philip0906:Yeah, the guy is sick. He is an epitome of moronic Personality. |
Becomrich0:Was he appointed because he is Igbo or Nigerian? So ethnicity must be a basis for appointment? Becomrich0:What will be the point of your argument if the 22 states are shared by 3 parties candidates? |
Becomrich0:With this type of statement, one cannot help but wonder how Nigeria will ever move forward. One Nigeria my backside! |
@Rethink: I used Nigeria as an illustration of the role that intense diversity plays in the underdevelopment of African nations. The point of my comprehension is on the fact that as long as we remain in Nigeria, in the arrangement that we are presently in, We are going no where. There will continue to be electoral malpractices, Inter-ethnic clashes, ethnic-religious motivated appointments, circulation in a circle without moving forward etc About your military, Don't be deceived. The Hausa infested Nigerian army can do nothing without the help of foreign military. In fact, a well armed, disciplined and competent man "O" War unit can defeat the Nigerian army. Go and look at their battles with MEND. They were butchered, drowned and made to beg like babies on their boats and on raided oil platforms. Don't equate Niger-delta militants with Sierra leon and Boko-haram. The Nigerian military is good in places that they are not well known. The MEND fighters were well paid "hungry" unemployed youths that fought to retain their flow of income, well armed and very determined. Imagine if they are joined and boosted by other citizens from the East? And If they are effectively supported in oil exploration and supply of weapons? I don't pray for that because the British will definitely not want to be involved like they did during the civil war. Trust where capitalist America would prefer? At present, the Nigerian army is too unprofessional to deal with tactical brute force. I respect your view about wanting Nigeria to be one even if it means that we have to be stagnant. You have the right to believe what you want, so I respect that totally. However, the truth remains that Nigeria has never moved forward, we are not moving forward and we may never move forward if we continue deceiving ourselves in the present union. Ask yourself why something like electric power seem insolvent despite all the billions poured into it till date, and simple roads cannot be made to be of world class standard. Ask yourself why there must be federal character consideration over competence in everything that Nigerians have to do? Then ask yourself If we are really one, and can we really move forward? The worst sort of deception is self-deception, cos in such a case, you'd be both the "guy man" and the "maga". |
One of the Single biggest issue that serves as an impediment to the development of African nations is the issue of Ethno-religious marginalization. This is a direct consequence of a huge disparity in Culture, religion and ethnic background. The Question is, Why must a country with a diverse ethnic composition that serves as an impediment continue to foot drag about the issue of getting a better arrangement that can make their diversity workable? I will use Nigeria as a case study; I have heard many people say that Division is not a solution to the problems of Nigeria. The fact remains that Nigeria's unity is a bigger impediment to the resolution of the problems of Nigeria. How can a nation that claims to be united be continuously bickering about ensuring equity through following ethnic/religious lines, at the expense of qualified Nigerians who are ready and willing to ensure development? Imagine if there was an Oodua republic, would someone like Fashola have any problem trying to lead the nation, with his credentials as a governor as an evidence? The fact is that he is having a problem doing same as a Nigerian in Nigeria. There can never be progress in a nation without relative social peace and political stability. Let us say that Nigeria divides, and there are 1000 nations from it, with some nations as small as 200,000 people, don't you know that the issues of Zoning, Federal character, Religious killings, deliberate marginalization of a section of a nation, appointment of unqualified individuals due to ethno-religious considerations etc that are killing the so-called giant of Africa will cease? The fact remains that when the people feel recognized, and have a say in their nation's affairs, they work towards it's progress. Look at Obingwa in Abia state, where the Kidnappers took the journalists to, there is little or no federal government's presence there. They were deprived and unrecognized. So they took to Kidnapping, which they have been doing unabated for long until the journalists were kidnapped. Would such a negligence of an entity be possible in an Igbo nation? This is the same situation I saw in some local governments that I did my NYSC in, in the West. Completely neglected. If the North is lacking in education, Why slow down the South for them to catch up. Why don't they stay on their own and develop their type of education, at their own pace. Why "Boko haram" for Nigeria as a whole? They have political stability and more advantage in Agriculture than any section of Nigeria. If Niger-delta has oil, and want to be their own country, why not let them go and do what they want with their oil? Who knows they may bring meaningful development to themselves with the oil If Igbos feel held back in Nigeria, why not let them go to determine how they want to live? They may actually be able to utilise their commercial expertise to become organised, create jobs and reduce crime. If Northerners feel that their urge for a Sharia system of governance is proper and impeded by Christians, and that they can't allow infidels to lead them, why don't they go and lead themselves in their own type of system, in peace and harmony? If Yorubas feel that their development and progress is impeded by the influx of people from other ethnic nations, Why don't they get their own nation and control this influx to ensure their progress? At the end of the day, if a Biafran goes to Oodua republic and commits a crime, the Biafran can be hung/deported or even flogged without raising any ethno-religious questions. I don't think being together in Nigeria will ever allow us to move forward because Nigeria can be likened to an obese that is being dragged to different directions at the same time by lumps of fat at different parts of his/her body. Who says that it is not possible to dissolve a nation in Peace? In Nigeria, it will be possible only if every section of the country comes together and agree to do so. Don't bring up the North's military bull crap story, cos the military is nothing without unity. Even in their present composition, they died like ants while trying to crush a ragtag force like MEND. In conclusion, there is need for the re-organization of African nation's boundaries to ensure cohesion, peace/stability and progress. After all Europeans, North Americans and Asians don't have six heads. |

What do you expect from youths; 1. When they are born under very difficult situations, and into a very harsh social environment 2. When in their primary school days, they learn under trees, roofless classrooms and mud houses, without any library experience 3. When they had to hawk after school at primary level, sometimes to extremely rich people who see them as unworthy of benefiting from any sort of wealth 4. When they are arrested and brutalised at will by the police that is meant to protect them. 5. When they go through secondary education and are discouraged from studying because it is easier to bribe in order for them to pass their WAEC exams 6. When they have to steal or do menial jobs to pay compulsory bribes in order to gain University admission which is based on the list of top University officials or ethnic background, rather than merit. 7. When they have to belong to Secret cults, become love-peddlers, peddle drugs or belong to robbery gangs in order to survive through university 8. When they have to bribe to become capable of serving in the NYSC 9 When they spend one whole unproductive NYSC year in terrible conditions teaching children that may not even know how to communicate with them because they have no connections to be posted to better places. 10 When after suffering for a whole year and saving their "allowee", they burn all their strength and savings while searching for jobs 11 When they cannot find a job because they have no connections and no employer considers their certificates to be good enough 12 When in that situation, they see some rich men flaunt ill gotten wealth and sometimes intimidate them with it. 13 When they can easily go to a policeman and buy an AK47 gun to use and acquire ill gotten wealth to flaunt like the rich men that stole too 14 When they can go and burst a pipeline and use their knowledge in school to brew crude oil for sale to available buyers 15 When they can easily kidnap a rich man and hide him comfortably, ask for 20 million naira and get it without spilling blood If this is how the situation is in the U.S, UK etc, the same social vices that we see in Nigeria would have been rampant in those places Many youths that Kidnap now are doing so because they prefer it to robbery. When that way is blocked, they will start their robbery biz. To end this trend, there should be Provision of basic facilities/ functional environment, Provision of jobs for youths, an equal opportunities for them to compete in the employment market, Provision of good learning environment and encouragement of entrepreneurship. If these are not done, Onovo and co are wasting their time.

Tell that individual that he/she is a full blooded Nigerian, both by right and birth. The only difference is that the place of birth confers another citizenship to him/her. |
Kennyblues:Are you the one that will give them jobs? Where are the dignifying jobs? Why was a state of emergency not declared in the South west because of the spate of political assassinations there? Is kidnapping not also going on in the S.west e.g Ondo state and S. South? why was South East Singled out? |
@BK/MALE BABE90: Dude! You are getting randy again? Have you deactivated the last "Homo" Nairalander that poked your A'ss already? Dude, you are a "NYMPHOMANIAC" Freak. Errrm, one more thing. Let's say he is an Igbo man, and so? He can contest if he wants. As long as he has the potential to deliver, who cares? |
If AC wants a landslide victory, they should just present T. Fashola. A bad Fashola is a million times better than a good IBB. Jonathan is not even a match when compared to Fashola. IF PDP wants to give Fashola a good fight, they should present R. Amaechi. It will be a real battle then, cos voters like me will become confused about who to vote for. However, they will not even be considered. The Political system in Nigeria needs a Lulu/Ogunjobi treatment. |
How can a brand be built positively without the passion and will to build it? The people called Nigerians today believe more in their ethnic identity, than their national identity. My point is that, the Nigerian brand cannot be positively built when it is constantly dissected in the form of ethnic division e.g Zoning, Federal character etc which gives rise to the political manipulation of everything at the expense of quality and qualification, so much that our present youth just know the way to crime due to the deprivation of basic/advanced infrastructures and social benefits. So forget it! |
Kx:Oh! because you queued in the rain to vote him, he should not have time to sit in front of his computer to browse?! Personally, If I was him, those free browsing moments would be very precious to me. I'd use them for strictly personal things, than just registering in Facebook and giving Nigerian youths assurance and acting upon their suggestions. For God's sake, the Man takes time to read the comments there. He points out ordinary Nigerian youths with good and reasonable views and suggestions to act upon their request. Is that not a sacrifice? Did you vote him into power to go to Facebook and try to listen to what the youths have to suggest? Anyway, you have your view, I have mine. |
rotflmao. . .are you saying that jonathan wouldnt have reverse his blunder if he is not on facebook.how many peoples' voice did he hear when he has less than a hundred thousand friends.what if millions of nigeria that dont have access to internet had supported the banning.
And what gave you the assurance that he would have reversed it if he was not on FB? Even if it was another reason that made him to reverse it and he came out stating that it was because of the comments on Facebook, do you expect me to doubt what he said when I have no evidence to prove it? Like I said, this "I too know" attitude by some Nigerians is killing the country. Too much of cooking hands in a pot, spoils the soup. I am not suggesting that you should be gullible. I am suggesting that you should criticize constructively. I dint want him to reverse it sha. But he did and gave a good reason. He din't need to see 150 million views to get a sample of the general views of Nigerians. If you know how to get samples for a research work, you will know what I mean. |
cdz:L. Sanusi has completed his reform. He must be an undertaker. ![]() |
Another reason why Nigeria will never move forward is extreme skepticism among Nigerians. It is so bad that even If Goodluck Jonathan makes electricity constant, he will still face insults and senseless criticisms. I read his status, he said that he did it because of the outcry of many Nigerians on his page. Ofcourse, he must have compared those views with the views of the politicians that were encouraging him to ban the team. He listens to ordinary Nigerians. That is something new. Is Obama not on Facebook? So because GEJ is a president he should not have a time of his own to browse. To even think that he spends those times to still speak with Nigerians should be appreciated. Sometimes I wonder how good all these critics would perform if they were in the same position. I bet most of you would be worst than IBB and Abacha. Anyway, before you say I am from PDP, I support APGA. But I will vote Goodluck Jonathan If APGA does not bring out a good candidate, and if Fashola/Amaechi does not Contest. |
I like the fact that the south-east governors wants to stay out of the presidential election. At least, they know their priorities for now. Instead of trying to answer presidents or vice-presidents at all cost, they need to reduce the crime rate in the south-east and put the region on the path of meaningful development. I am happy that they know this. |
I had to post this topic because I remember having a heated argument with some Nairalanders on the importance of entrepreneurial development to the realization of true development in Nigeria. I remember a certain Kobojunkie , Depilot and some other nairalanders accusing me of being only after making money. Infact they proposed volunteer service over entrepreneurial development. The argument took place in this topic : https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria?topic=366272.msg5110146#msg5110146 This was culled from Vanguard newspaper. Enjoy. Source: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/07/05/mdgs-and-2020-goals-nigerias-hidden-potentials/ MDGs and 2020 Goals: Nigeria’s Hidden potentials This is an excerpt of UNDP comments on Nigeria on the progress of its Millennium Development Goals following a 2006 status report. Of the eight goals, UNDP foresaw only the achievement of universal primary education, environmental sustainability and global development partnerships. UNDP, which is official monitor of the UN declaration, goes on to say that availability of current data and limited funding for further data generation are critical barriers in the programme. Bad news for a country that has more that just the MDGs to meet! Former president Olusegun Obasanjo initiated the ambitious 2020 plan – of taking Nigeria to the top 20 world economies by that year – after being democratically elected to power in 1999 following decades of political uncertainty and civil unrest. If the MDG targets are hard, considering both Nigeria’s current and projected fortunes, the 2020 goals are much tougher. The extreme contradictions of Nigeria’s economy are part of academic lore. The second largest economy in the African continent earns an estimated $2.2 million every day from oil exports alone, yet its GDP per capita at just over $1,400 is comparable to some of the poorest nations. As of 2007, it has proven reserves of over 36 billion barrels in oil and 5 trillion cubic meters of natural gas, yet more than 54% of its population continues to live in extreme poverty without access to fundamental necessities. Added to these are far less than optimistic human development indices and the latest threat of growing Islamic militancy in the Niger Delta region. The MDGs that Nigeria is unlikely to achieve, according to the UNDP, are: • Eradicating extreme hunger and poverty • Promoting gender equality and empowering women • Reducing child mortality • Improving maternal health • Combating HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases The goals are part of the UN Millennial Declaration of 2000 that sets out to achieve universal basic human rights concerning health, education, shelter and security in a time bound manner by 2015. They call for genuine progress and reflect holistic development from the bottom up. For Nigeria, they present gargantuan challenges in terms of innovative strategy and effective execution. At the very basic level, Nigeria’s goals presume a paradigm shift and large-scale overhaul of its legal, financial, energy and educational institutions. This will require overriding commitment on two critical aspects: effecting a mindset change at the grassroots level and working out radical policy changes for accountability and effective implementation. For a country riddled with ingrained corruption and administrative ineptitude, these can be defeating challenges. For Nigeria to have a realistic shot at meeting its twin objectives, history holds the strongest argument in favor of entrepreneurship development. Enterprises have been the backbone of rapid but durable economic growth the world over. |
