johnkent:@Johnkent: Your name sound foriegn. You are a perfect husband for immature girls like "Sugarbelly" ![]() With the way you are talking, then there should be no problem with the woman servicing the car engines/changing tires, washing the car, ensuring repairs in the home. She can as well protect the family from external threats. Nonsense!!!!!!!!!!! Abeg no dey justify rubbish. When the Man is opportuned to wash his cloths, he will do it. If not, the Woman must always do it. The house chores are to be done by the woman, except her husband wants to help out (Which almost every husband does) You are promoting eating junk food (like a barchelor) when you are married. Na wa 4 u o! ![]() |
Crude Oil:I can see that you are willing to share your man with Ekaette ![]() |
woye77:Gbam!!!!!!!!!!! Rastamann:Career Women abi? They should look for Gigolos not husbands ![]() |
Now I can see why the divorce rate is skyrocketing in Nigeria. ![]() "Oyibo" influence. It is the husband that should choose when to wash his cloths or not. The wife must always look out for her husbands dirty cloths, and wash them if they have not been take care of. If you want to experience real and unreserved Love, you need to do your God given duty in the family. It has been that way since the days of Eve. On sunday na una go dance pass for Church, meanwhile simple family rule una no fit obey! It is our culture. Go and marry a European or North American if you need a man that will do the house chores for you while you are watching America's next top model. Nonsence!!!! It is not tolerated in Igbo land. Thank God that is my root. |

Katsumoto: I was surprised to see that too, but aint in a mood to argue, it may turn tribalistic. ![]() |
SEFAGO:@SEFAGO: You are very wrong man. It is the nations that can consistently produce good leaders like Lee Kuan Yew, in a good and conducive leadership environment that will succeed. It is not the amount of resources or geographical location. For instance: If the North can produce alot of Fasholas/Donald Dukes and the Southern countries produce many Alao Akalas/ T. Orjis, the South's crude oil will be refined in the north because there may be no refinery in the south due to mismanagement, thereby making the south dependent on the North, despite the lack of oil in the North. It is the ability to carve out good leadership that matters. |
Wow! This Nigeria of a country sef! Only bad bad news and predictions!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the heck! ![]() Why don't we just remove the enormouse political power from the Federal govt or Simply divide to avoid all these doomsday predictions!!!! Na wa o! |
Alot of Nigerians exhibit enormous knowledge when it comes to the issue of ensuring development through proper political practice. However, most Nigerians like Adams Oshimole and co, that radically criticised the politics and government in Nigeria for many years, seem to become inactive as soon as they get the politcal power to ensure change. It is important to understand what Nigerians really think is the problem with our political leadership, and proffer solutions on how we can ensure proper/effective leadership If you happen to get the political power to lead Nigeria, What steps will you take to ensure change? You must avoid answers like, "I will provide electric power!" Please Give brief details of the steps you will take to ensure that, so that it can be realistic. Don't make it look like you are dreaming. This is important because it will expose your understanding on what you know about Nigeria, her problems and possible solutions. Who knows, you may just be the next president. No tribal sentiments please. |
Ephesians 5: 22-25 Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, ![]() Husband love your wife, ![]() https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxqu0XY1PHA |
Ladies watch this Youtube Nigerian musical video. It is the result of having wives who thinks they are "WESTERN WORKINGCLASS LADIES" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxqu0XY1PHA If it was in Yankee, the man will be thrown out, but in Naija, the Woman will either go home or stay to correct her mistakes. |
In Nigerian cultures, it is compulsory. Forget the western culture because it is not our way of life. In Igboland a wife is called "Odozi aku". It means that she is the care taker of her husbands wealth and home. If she insists on getting a job, she must play her role. It will look very funny that a husband will be rushing home from work to do his laundry when he has a "Lolo" (Wife) that has two hands intact. Naaaaaaaaaaaaah! it leads to marriage break ups. The man will definitely be damn wornout and will regret getting into the marriage, no matter how much he fell for the woman initially. The culture is still being observed till date. Many working class ladies get houshelps to ensure that all the house chores they are surpposed to do are done even though they may not around (There are some avoidable consequences). Some househelps use that way to warm their way into the women's husband's hearts. Especially if the house girl is very attractive. Ladies take note. |
It is a stale news to announce that "Nigeria is a failed state" That is a foregone conclusion. The issue now is to look for an ultimate solution. For me, it is either a confederation or a total breakup. This is because our problem is a management issue. Nigeria seem too big and diverse for Nigerians to manage. The Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa, Efik, Ijaw etc can easily call their own to order if things go wrong. That way things can be within sight. If We don't deem any of those suggestions fit, then let the show continue. |
LMAO! It is true na. Very undisputable. But then We are all Nigerians . One part cannot move forward without the other parts . All We are saying, give us good leadership!!! ![]() |
FL Gators:Yeah you are right. I was reacting to those that were talking about Nigeria being a terrorist country because of this issue. This further exposes the extent of our differences in Nigeria, especially between the North and South. |
ijeoma2619:Yeah I know. The guy is a terrorist, he is a Nigerian. We should thank God that it wasn't Lagos or Abuja that he attempted to blow. He would have succeded. However, it is similar to all the terrorist issues we have been hearing over the past fe years, just that this time he is a Nigerian. That doesn't mean that Nigerians are terrorists. ![]() |
FL Gators:Wrong, it is America's problem. It simply shows that Al quaeda is infilterating more countries. The Nigerian government didn't issue him a visa. They checked as they should and let him go. We did our part. The guy would have probably walked freely into America if he had not raised some dust. So, America should finish the fight. Next time it will not be a Nigerian, It may be a South African, ghanian or Kenyan. Beaf:From CNN's report, they are not yet sure about that. They are still wondering if it is a failed attempt or just a fluke. As a matter of fact, they have not been able to establish a link between him and Alquaeda. They are using the word " HE CLAIMED" to describe his statement that he is linked to Alquaeda. |
The guy is a Nigerian and so what? What measure will the international community introduce against Nigerians that is not already in existence? There have been Britons, Americans, Egyptians, Indians, Malaysians, Singaporeans, Europeans etc that have carried out terrorist attempts before, so why will our own be a blown out of proportion? Why will a fellow like that get an american visa easily, while all the Bayos, Okonkwo, Daniels, Mary's etc that are looking for opportunities are being denied visa like mad? How did he beat the security tight Amsterdam airport authorities? (For those that thinks that Nigerias airport is porouse) Abegi, leave Nigeria out of this. It is a global problem. The fact that he did not even blow the plane up, over an ocean showed that he must have had a double thought (A clear feature of Nigerians) |
By Editorial Board of Punch, Published: Friday, 25 Dec 2009 The brutal and gratuitous murder of a National Youth Service Corps member, Miss Grace Ushang, in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital on September 26, presented the Nigeria Police with a credible opportunity to redeem their parlous crime-busting image and cut down on the ever-lengthening list of unresolved murder cases in the country. The attitude of the police towards the case however seems to portray them as not only unwilling to turn over a new leaf but also incapable of doing so. Nearly three months after the 25-year-old indigene of Cross River State was reportedly despoiled and dispatched to an early grave, the police are nowhere closer to producing the perpetrators of the crime than they were on the day the incident occurred. On the contrary, there are strong reasons to believe that they are deliberately twisting facts and striving hard to tamper with relevant clues that could throw light on how Ushang met her tragic end. At a recent public enquiry by the House of Representatives’ Committee on Women Affairs into the death of the NYSC member, lawmakers, human rights groups and medical doctors did not mince words in demanding a fresh autopsy report after rejecting the one presented by the Commissioner of Police, Borno State Command, Mr. Ibrahim Abdu. Condemning the lack of commitment to fishing out the murderers, the Chairperson of the committee, Binta Masi Garba, reportedly asked for Abdu’s removal. “For the CP to conclude that there was no despoil is totally wrong. I have my misgivings and I reject the report completely,” she was quoted as saying. Ushang reportedly met her untimely death at the hands of bandits who took turns in defiling her for allegedly wearing a pair of khaki trousers, the prescribed uniform for members of the NYSC. She had ventured out of her official quarters in search of food on that fateful day. The alarm bells started ringing when she failed to return after what looked like a reasonable length of time. A search party later stumbled on her dead body where it had been dumped. Rather than produce the killers, the police have allegedly rounded up and detained her colleagues in the NYSC who are now paraded as prime suspects. It is unfortunate that in a country where there is no official dress code, a group of outlaws can take it upon themselves to enforce a dress code. It is a case of some people taking the law into their own hands; and the law enforcement agencies will be failing in their duty to Nigerians if they allow such people to get away with acts that tend to breach the freedom of Nigerians to dress and live freely in any part of the country. Ushang’s death, incidentally the third participant in the scheme from Obudu to be gruesomely murdered in Borno State, brings into question the continued relevance of the NYSC scheme when the weak Nigerian state has consistently failed to guarantee the safety of the participants. The case of two corps members murdered in Jos, Plateau State, during the crisis of December last year is still fresh in the memory. It should also be noted that the failure of the state security apparatus to fish out murderers of Nigerians resident outside their places of birth has continued to encourage a regular recurrence of these heinous crimes that are already posing a threat to national unity. For instance, the killers of Gideon Akaluka in Kano in 1994 and Mrs. Oluwatoyin Oluseesi in 2007 in Gombe are still at large, despite the fact that the crimes were committed in the open glare. Oluseesi, a teacher, was mobbed by students whom she tried to prevent from cheating during an examination, while the killers of Akaluka had paraded the streets with his head held on a spike. In Ushang’s case, the police have displayed their usual half-hearted approach to cracking murder cases in the country. This is further worsened by the lack of enthusiasm on the part of the NYSC in fishing out and punishing the criminals. It will also amount to missing the point if one fails to point out the failure of the NYSC Director-General, Brig. Gen. Maharazu Tsiga, and the Borno State Governor, Alhaji Modu Sheriff, to protect the lives of those deployed to serve in the scheme. As the chief security officer of the state, Sheriff must produce the killers of Ms. Ushang. Failure to do so, the NYSC must stop deploying corps members in Borno and any other state that fails to demonstrate adequate capacity to protect the lives of Nigerian youths on national service. The Cross River State Governor, Senator Liyel Imoke, will also be failing in his responsibility to his citizens if he fails to demand justice from his Borno State counterpart. But for the steadfastness of some National Assembly members and a non-governmental organisation, Coalition for Change, Ushang’s case would probably have gone the way of many others before it - unresolved and forgotten. But their efforts alone may not be able to sustain the struggle for long. Other public-spirited Nigerians must join forces with them to ensure that the killers of Grace Ashang are brought to book. |
Imagine!!! ![]() Instead of Curbing the sky rocketing cases of drug peddling involving Nigerians around the globe, they are busy sacking girls for getting married to low-income earners! Wonder they say shall never end. This is a real Nigerian action Movie. Na wa o! ![]() |
violent:Sad, but true. |
Nigeria's Economy is growing. The growth is largely unutilised, so there is no development. The Economy needs to be fuelled by the collaborative effort of the government and the private sector. Government needs to create an enabling environment for the private sector to run the economy, with a regulatory input from them. For example, Nigeria has a demographic advantage over other African countries, yet we have not been able to make good use of the domestic consumption ability of our nation to stimulate investments, jobs, increase in tax rate etc. like the USA does. With the high rate of unemployment, Entrepreneurial development is seriously needed to enable more Nigerians to be able to create jobs through investment. It will take only the provision of basic infrastructures, creation of an enabling environment and encouragement of entrepreneurship for the Nigerian Economy to explode. I believe these things will be done as soon as God finishes the operation he is currently doing on our motherland. I just hope we will still be one after that. ![]() |
No2Atheism:I totally agree with your first and last statements. That is What I have been advocating for. But my brother, Let's face facts, will the Nigerian government allow such? Nigerian investments seem unviable untill people like Dangote, IBB and co have shares in them. It will be very good if they can give a level playing ground. As for your consistent Globacom example, I can only tell you that Globacom is in the telecommunication sector which is not as sensitive and difficult to manage as the Oil and gas sectors. An Oil spill can simply make niger-deltans conclude that because Adenuga is a Yoruba man, he is insensitive to the plight of Niger-deltans. It sounds rediculous, but it is the honest truth. |
No2Atheism:For the first highlighted sentence, it is only a country with a pro-developmental government, high FDI rate and high domestic investments rate that can make such rules. For the Second highlighted sentence, The Chinese are too insensitive and lack empathy compared to Europeans. I have stayed 12 years in Europe and 9 Years in China, I know exactly what I mean. They can do anything to Make profit, including sleeping with their enemies and killing them the next day. For the third highlighted Sentence, Shell would have played to Nigeria's terms if the people in Charge of Nigeria wanted it that way. As long As Shell continues to supply them Ghana must go bags full of dollars, they prefer shell to play it their way. However, I know that nothing happens as planned in Nigeria. We are blown to any direction by the wind of Change, Good or Bad. |
