Please this minimum wage of a thing,is it only effective as only to the least you can get or does the increment effect does that are making money already in government? for xample a man that has already been in government let's say level 10 and he is was already collecting 200k,does it mean with the increment of minimum wage is salary will further be increased too?...if Yes let's say minimum wage is increased by 70% does it mean others who has been earning over minimum wage will be increased by that same %..

The 30K is the base or least pay from the would be salary grade structure and the percentage increase will differ depending on what is agreed; on level by level or may be landmark percentage increase. I.e I am on grade level 1 step 1 on 30k, the percentage increase to grade level 2 may be 5% and to 3 5% or it may be by land mark where grade level 1-7 may enjoy percentage increase of 5% and 8-12 may be 2%..........etc

What NLC has fought for is the base whether the government will now apply the percentage increase of 18K-30K is another story. Hope you understand.

Add the fact that revenues from oil are not enough...

Lagos that can pay has hefty IGR....and is the Business capital, that is why they can pay.

Inasmuch as governors are corrupt, and millions get wasted....the only way to pay minnimum wage is by downsizing the workforce.

There you have it.. And that's 166bn when u have 18k minimum wage.. So at 30k it would be over 300k

And 3.6 trillion naira a year to pay a group of federal civil servants In a year. .when most of them are un serious

Do you know how much these politicians earn from the National cake?

Do you know how much they earn as security vote?

Do you know why we continue to budget for constituency project year in year out that never see the light of the day.

In addition, more intervention programme should be initiated around these sectors; Education, power, health, transportation and food.

The so called minimum wage are expended on these areas especially the education of the child which can gulp more than 70% of that wage per month, leaving peanuts for others. Policies should be formulated to cushion the effects of inflation before the labour union start demanding another wage increase in the next 4years.

Restructure the 36 States and you have productivity bargaining and related wages and remuneration structure.
Meanwhile, the Governments and the Unions are just being mischievous.

Haven't you heard the issue of restructuring was fought to the supreme court with unfavourable conclusion.

Why not proper solutions like NASS salary and spending be pruned down..............let them be earning salary of a director in the federal civil service.

How many bills have they passed to improve the lives of Nigerians.........they should be earning sitting allowance
