yiboboy:Your inferiority complex is going to kill you? Would you rather have a foreigner as president too? I'd rather have a Nigerian, than have some random African mod the politics section We are Nigerians, we shouldn't be moderated by foreigner, especially a black person from SL for that matter It is a shame how low we have come! I say Mukina out, SEFAGO in! |
SEFAGO:Genius like you should be inventing, not moderating Why waste your talent? |
omongbatib:Is that even an English word! BTW, AD was a party, not a voter |
This guys are bent on bankrupting this country chei? |
zerocool:How come this thread has not been locked? This is open solicitation and it is against forum rules @OP: Nairaland 4 lyfe Phuckk whatever you call your shyyt! |
^^^ Yes, PDP killed AD, both literally and figuratively! That my friend is an open secret! |
omongbatib:Seriously dude, Dapobear is NOT SEFAGO AND, I, previously known as Fstranger, am not Aigbofa Stop this shyyt! Doesnt make you look attractive! |
omo_ngbati:Olodo rabata Typical Nigerian English; yeah right like WAEC owns the 'English exmaination'. It is people like you that go out there to say SAT's English examination Olodo Typical spare part dealer. Adding 'examination' at the end is not compulsory! Olodo |
omo_ngbati:Birds of a feather Like Mrs. Jonathan, like Omo Yoruba You must have had a tough time passing WAEC English? |
omo_ngbati:And you think this is about Akpu? Give it up, he was correct grammatically A bit awkward; nevertheless, acceptable! |
omo_ngbati:Now look at you. Are you married to Mrs. Jonathan? |
omo_ngbati:Ode! It is correct, though it too might seem a bit awkward. To understand “had had,” we need to take a look at the present perfect and past perfect tenses. Take this sentence: “I have had too many chocolates today.” That sentence is in the present perfect tense. You use that tense when you’re talking about a past action that is continuing into the present. This sentence means that I started eating chocolates in the past but the chocolate eating is continuing up to the present. Present perfect tense uses “has” and “have” plus the past participle, as in “have had” and “has gone.” Although “had had” isn't wrong, one "had" definitely sounds better |
slap1:Na real wa ooooooooooooooooooooooo That one sef worse pass wetin Dame yarn! No wonder only 20% of people pass WAEC |
omo_ngbati:Oloshi May Sango and Lakaye strike you prick Say Amen! |
omo_ngbati:What I meant was that the error in the statement, when written as it should be written, is in her use of 'people' Of course the statement as a whole is INCORRECT |
ada24:Obviously, your English is not better than Dame's The error in the sentence has got nothing to do with grammar The only mistake she made is that she used 'people' where she ought to have used 'person' And this is a mistake we all make on a daily basis And why should she be prosecuted for a common mistake; after all, she is human like the rest of us? Above all, remove the log in your eyes before trying to correct someone else! The correct statement goes thus: " MY HUSBAND, DR GOODLUCK JONATHAN, AND SAMBO, IS A QUIET PEOPLE, " |
The question I guess is: Why do we do so badly in WAEC and how can we stop this unpalatable scenario? |
Only 62,295 of the 310, 077 candidates (20.04per cent) who sat for the Nov./Dec. 2010 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) obtained credit in English, Mathematics and three other subjects in the Examination, Head of the Nigerian National Office of the West African Examination Council (WAEC), Iyi Uwadiae said at a press conference on Thursday in Lagos to announce the result. Mr Uwadiae, who said the result was not impressive, said the examination result of 51,876 of the candidates, representing 16.73 per cent, were withheld for their involvement in "alleged malpractice." "A total of 133,507 candidates (43.06 per cent) obtained credit and above in English Language, while 151,569 candidates (48.88 per cent) obtained credit and above in Mathematics," he said. Early release of results Mr Uwadiae also told journalists that 33 blind candidates took part in the examination and only 4 of them got credit passes in five subjects including English Language. The blind candidates are exempted by regulation from registering for mathematics and science based subjects. "All the reports on cases of involvement in examination malpractice have been compiled for presentation to the Nigerian Examination Committee of the Council in March," he said, adding that the result was released two weeks ahead of schedule to enable students use these for registration purposes in higher institutions that had admitted them. In order to reposition its activities, he also said that the examination body will soon modify its examination model to the e-testing format (electronic test) but that the process was at its experimental stage. "The quick release of the result is due to the commitment of the markers and the effective application of our new computer software for processing results," he said. http://234next.com/csp/cms/sites/Next/Home/5657149-146/waec_releases_novemberdecember_results__.csp |
omo_ngbati:Why don,t you tell the house what exactly is wrong with the statement above |
~Bluetooth:Unfortunately, the political atmosphere in Nigeria does not operate like that, I bet that the reason they are decamping is far from anything "ideological." Two things come to mind as to why they may be decamping: 1.) It could be that they are no more wanted in the PDP, and as such are decamping in order to seek political relevance elsewhere. In that situation, the question is: why ACN, why not PPA or APGA? 2.) Also, it could be that, going by recent events, they may have come to the conclusion that PDP is a sinking ship, and, are thereby jumping just so they do not drown Either ways, they are doing it for their own selfish reason. |
Abagworo:Some say I am Sefago, others think I am Aigbofa No, I am not Aigbofa I am Yoruba though! |
Titi is yoruba I'd take her over that Ibo lady! |
isale_gan2:Why come to such a hasty assumption? Like I said, you are not that different from me. . . No two names! |
A welcome development! |
isale_gan2:By Nigerian standard, Yes, that makes you a tribalist That is what Awo said that made people label him a tribalist. Yes welcome brother! |
