I can't believe how seriously some people take themselves, at least it's entertaining to watch. It's what happens when you turn cyber-world into a full time job. tensor777: What has this list of historical and non-historical complaints got to do with the poster's question which is inherently very personal. So if you have a very good job offer or business opportunity you would not move back bcause of this your generic "whine and moan" list. For example with enough "pay" issues like electricity and water should be the least of your problems when there are so many convenient alternatives to mains power supply. Have to agree with u there. |

@Busy_body.
This is the original post: How Easy is it for a Person with Eu residence to a get a Uk Ireland and Us Visa there was no mention of a family member visit here, and my first comment on this thread was based on that, not based on Schengen version of EU residence permit.
Like i said b4, i want a link to clarify Vicjustic's comment here: Everyone irrespective of the nature or category of residence permit that he or she holds NEEDS AN ENTRY CLEARANCE (a visa) to enter the UK, except one holds an EU passport |

atampakoeg: Diasporians speak so passionately against Nigeria and against coming back to Nigeria, no problem, we understand. Afterall, you left Nigeria for better life for rural men and women when you left. But, something always bugs me, is it right, moral, or even legal in the sight of God, and our parent who sent us to university, to leave our graduate jobs in Nigeria, and go abroad and even stay there doing such jobs that you will not even allow your far junior relative to do in Nigeria? Look, this is not about anyone forcing you to come back home, no, we dont care if you do. But, me i can not understand why a graduate Nigerian, maybe even with a second degree, will go to London or there about and start cleaning the streets, or the railway lines or even doing "kpeke, kpeke" inside Night Clubs. How will that person answer God on the day of judgement? Why did you post this then if you don't care? What has God got to do with me not coming back to Nigeria? |

iykedee: @justwiseI am really happy that the legendary "you" replied to my post. The problem is that they sent a mail saying that the recieved my application and a decision would be reached shortly and relayed to me but they have neither given me a conditional offer, an unconditional offer or a refusal letter. I am willing to pay the tuition in full (£9800) to be eligible for a £300 discount for paying in full which would now bring tuition to £9500.Each time I call, its always the same story about how the admissions panel will take a decision "soon" but it never happens. I have sent two emails requesting that they expedite the process but they didnt reply those mails. I am tempted to go for other lower rated schools because from the other threads that you have offered your expert advice, I know paying fees, getting CAS and applying for a tier 4 student visa takes a while and the couse resumption date is Jan 17thWhat do you think I should do at this point? I understand ur concern, give them this coming week and see if they will email you, the Jan admission will become a serious issue from this Nov. If they did not reply you by say. . second week of Nov then u can look elsewhere, but i think you should apply to ur second choice uni while you wait for the first choice decision. The moment u get the conditional offer and pay the fees, the CAS takes less than 2wks to be issued, that means u will avoid Dec visa rush. |

@Vicjustice
Thanks for the link but that was not what i was looking for.
The link i asked for is to clarify the idea that somebody with EU residence permit(not the schengen version) need a visa to visit the UK.
The link you provided did state whether the individual was holding ordinary schengen visa or EU residence permit.
I'm asking for a link that will clarify ur statement here: Everyone irrespective of the nature or category of residence permit that he or she holds NEEDS AN ENTRY CLEARANCE (a visa) to enter the UK, except one holds an EU passport. |

Check the acknowledgement email or letter they sent you and see if there is a condition attached, things like paying some part of ur fees or reference from another person other than ur employer. |

Vicjustice: Yes, he said he does hold an EU residence permit (which i understand to be from a Schengen state), but he never claimed to be an EU citizen: Residence permit is like Leave to Remain, it's not the same thing as citizenship. I took keen note of his very first post hence i was surprised to see someone called him dumb and others calling him silly. Poor man . You have to remember my initial comment was based on his initial post and NOT on the edited or modified one. In that case, somebody holding an EU residence permit does not need a visa to come to the UK, the issue of Schengen visa was ur own interpretation. Yes on my own part i got the EU residence permit and EU citizen mixed up and i take the insult for that. |
