mobiss: Hello House,
Please, I need a clarification on POF for my student VISA. I will appreciate your knowledgeable advice on this. If I have successfully run a POF for 28 days as required by UKVI, can I stop the POF from running after the 28 days and still apply for my student and dependant visas without any issue immediately afer the 28 days? Or is it adviseale to keep the POF running while throwing in my visa application? Stop running it how? remove it from the the bank account? |

Anyway Trump should please not rock the world economy boast

masseratti: am not a trump supporter, but sometimes a wrong clock can be right twice on a day..the Europeans western Europe have been maybe due to lack of strong leaders complacent,we all should thank China for manufacturing cheap alternative products and getting better with them over the years.. intellectual property right or not...the USA did same to European inventors too to get to where they arr today.. patent laws were in existence in Europe since 1700..USA didn't have one till late 1800.
My point is the USA can also have a lil bit of socialist model create economic free zone..where healthcare, housing, education, food is already cheap in the USA..will be heavily subsidized like it is in China...that will bring down the labor cost .. create a supply chain to feed those industries in the economic zones ...labor cost is the main issue why companies are manufacturing in China..the only thing that is making the labor cost cheap there are those needs of an average Joe.this tariffs is just archaic. socialist ? That is a dirty word according to Trump republicans. Ask AOC … |

Tarrifs, what we call import duties is not paid by exporters but importers .. which is mostly citizens of importing country the USA citizens
Not the Chinese or Canadian citizens..and high tarrifs is only meant to give opportunity for local industry to thrive..but the world has evolved from that ..where you don't have strength you don't ..bettee still subsidize uour local industry for like 10 years where it can have competitive advantage over other countries own..thats what China did ,thats bettee than talking too much and swinging a hammerhead in a Chinese store, pun intended. jedisco: The 'beauty' of capitalism. Even if one doesn't like capitalism, to do well in the west, one needs to understand it.
Just like pre-Brexit, I'm sure when folks asked what would happen to the care sector e.t.c if eastern Europeans stopped coming, avid brexiteers would have said 'good! they're stealing our jobs and keeping wages low'. Well, we know how things went.
One thing I've noticed about major western nations is that they not too infrequently mimic themselves. You can just about predict how one would go by looking at another.
Poor Trumpists are still waiting for the freebies they were promised. I’m so happy for them, they are enjoying the American dream they voted for. |

It will get worse as he continues to toy with people’s businesses because Americans can hardly afford made in America, foreign goods and workers keep American economy flourishing. How many Americans companies are willing to relocate their factories back to America just because Trump promised to low taxes? |

So far, China isn't blinking and the U.S is looking increasingly desperate to discuss.
Eitherway, with the market selloff, it's looking like those who bought last week sniped a good deal. China will feel the pain as much as America until they managed to sign a trade deal with a bigger economy somewhere around the world. China cannot consume what they produced despite their population. |

Coldie: I felt like giving Nigerians abroad this advise, this advise would save u money and would help u save ur future in a worst case scenario.
If u ever get into a police issue, whether u are guilty or not, do these things;
1) Download all forms of AI on your phone 2) Narrate your stories to all the AI 3) Make sure you explain everything to the AI 4)Tell the AI to tell you what are the chances of you being found guilty 5) Tell the AI your situation and how you can twist the situation to favour you 6) Tell the AI every single detail down to the moment u walked outside and looked at the skies 7) Keep giving the AI more details based on every single thing that u can get
Go for your interview or if you have already gone for it, tell them you want to give them an additional statement 9) If they refuse cram or memorise whatever’s the AI tells you and go for your interview 10) Ask the AI what is the weakness that the police can find on your statement 11) Tell the AI to help you address and give answers to that weaknesss 12) Look for additional weaknesses, if during ur case or incident someone walked in ask the AI how that can help the case
Do this and thank me later.
AI means artificial intelligence, some months ago I complained of coming back to Nigeria it was because I had a serious police case.
I asked a lawyer and they were asking me for 400pounds an hour, AI helped me solve it without spending one naira or pounds.
This can be useful to someone out there This is not what you told those who believed you here... Coldie: I have been in the UK for sometime now and the system has totally swallowed me, I feel very depressed and I want to leave permanently. I can only visit but not live there anymore. What’s the possibility.
How is Nigeria at present?
How much do I need to start back? https://www.nairaland.com/8330446/want-return-back-nigeria-uk |

Reference: Yes, all that is true. But that is where negotiations come in at all levels. Labour/wage negotiations, insurance negotiations, even taxes and enterprise laws. These are the next things that will have to be freed up to make the system work.
The fundamental question they are asking themselves is: If all the jobs go to foreigners and all the factories relocate abroad, where will the jobs and the paycheques and the wealth come from to buy the goods the world produces.
Can anyone answer this simple but fundamental question. If you are not working how can you be shopping. Do you understand that Trump did not do this because of jobs? |

bepositive11: Thank you. Shocked to see how many people liked that comment. Some online users don’t really think through before clicking LIKE. This trade war dumb Trump started will benefit China more as many will rather buy made in China than American made. There is a reason why American companies prefer producing their products outside America, if they decided to produce locally then they have to face several issues… high wage demand, trade unions compliance, difficulties employing locally (Trump has deported immigrants doing those low paying jobs) . Already American farmers and construction companies are struggling to get workers because of Trump immigration policies. |
Politics › Re: Trump Slams 14% Tariff On Nigerian Exports, Others (Full List) by justwise(m): 7:46am On Apr 03, 2025 |
Baxilexi: No his not. If you’re interested look up countries like Norway, Switzerland, Austria… if you earn high you should spend appropriate, yes buying cheaper is good, but Americans can afford made in America products. They have institutions that handle price control and Purchasing Power Parity. No Americans does not have the money to pay for expensive goods because wages are not going up with the prices. It will lead to stagnant in growth. Very few Americans can afford made in America products |

sleek214: You don't know anything. This tariff will discouraged importation and boast local production. These countries need America market more than America need them. Most of these countries will go into recession. The US have been Father Christmas for far too long. American companies producing locally will be expensive for Americans. American companies are benefiting from cheap labour when goods are produced outside America. Nobody wins tariff wars as it affects both countries. Trump is dumb. |

I saw his twitter post where he was robustly defending himself against the fraud accusations and threatening to sue the BBC.

Audacious because he knows that Nigerians will eventually keep quiet and move on. Sue BBC? lol some hot air right there, obviously he has to say something, he was on camera running his mouth and now they are defaming him? |

Zahra29: As far as they are concerned, it's been handled: - Over 450 sponsorship licenses have been revoked - The care visa route has been tightened through CQC regulations, etc - A new policy is being rolled out to support and prioritise the employment of displaced workers who have lost their sponsorships. - Enforced guidelines to ensure that firms do not pass on sponsorship costs to candidates - Prevention of CoS abuse through widespread messaging on the illegality of paying/being made to pay for a job.
Will Scotland Yard chase "Dr" Kelvin across the ocean to bring him to justice? No. At the end of the day, they see it as Nigerians scamming Nigerians, Africans scamming Africans, Pakistanis scamming Pakistanis and so on. If many of the fraudsters or victims were white English, perhaps there would be a more robust police response.
Affected individuals could unite and seek to bring a civil lawsuit against the "Dr" and other fraudsters to recover their funds, I'm sure there is a wealth of evidence to support their claims. Yup..and if those fraudsters are arrested the same Africans will pick up race card and started shouting racisim right left and centre. Victims should go after Dr Kelvin, report him to American govt, his employers, business associates, go after all his social media accounts.. give him no rest of mind untill he pays up |

OgbeniOptional: The best decision of mine today as the UK is concerned is accepting my new reality asap after graduation and using my PSW to gain experience in care before getting into NHS which later sponsored me. While in PSW, I applied for jobs but it was always “We are sorry” or “We do not offer sponsorship for this role” until I got tired of it. The majority of my mates who use their PSW to work in some companies are being told they can't be sponsored because of new salary requirements or they lied to them they are trying to apply for sponsorship and later told them they are not applying again. As we speak, some are being scammed and still looking for a way out to remain in this country. Few who drive were lucky to get Dom care or living care. Few tried global talent visas and only one was successful. A friend was scammed £8,000 last February when desperation set in. It was at that point I realised I made the right choice. Now, I look at people who didn't even wait for PSW and switched to care visas immediately after graduation as smart people especially as most of them have family. I also feel if you are a couple, one person should have a leg in care job just for back up purpose unless you have a solid japa out of UK plan.
Another experience from a very close person to me is her employer(top firm) promised her sponsorship after the two years, the salary is way above this new threshold. They reimbursed her for the PSW. She found out she was 2-3 months pregnant after start date. By the time she came back from maternity leave, the sponsorship story changed form certain to uncertain. She wasn't sponsored.
Please, do whatever works for you. No age cap on when you can achieve your dreams unless you are planning to be a stripper 😀 I suggested this last yr here and was accused of encouraging Nigerians to settle for less. COS was almost free then, today people are paying ££££ and getting scammed. Funny people. |
