But that is where negotiations come in at all levels. Labour/wage negotiations, insurance negotiations, even taxes and enterprise laws. These are the next things that will have to be freed up to make the system work.

The fundamental question they are asking themselves is: If all the jobs go to foreigners and all the factories relocate abroad, where will the jobs and the paycheques and the wealth come from to buy the goods the world produces.

Can anyone answer this simple but fundamental question. If you are not working how can you be shopping.

There is a reason why American companies prefer producing their products outside America, if they decided to produce locally then they have to face several issues… high wage demand, trade unions compliance, difficulties employing locally (Trump has deported immigrants doing those low paying jobs) .


Already American farmers and construction companies are struggling to get workers because of Trump immigration policies.

If you’re interested look up countries like Norway, Switzerland, Austria… if you earn high you should spend appropriate, yes buying cheaper is good, but Americans can afford made in America products. They have institutions that handle price control and Purchasing Power Parity.

No Americans does not have the money to pay for expensive goods because wages are not going up with the prices. It will lead to stagnant in growth.

You don't know anything. This tariff will discouraged importation and boast local production. These countries need America market more than America need them. Most of these countries will go into recession. The US have been Father Christmas for far too long.

American companies producing locally will be expensive for Americans. American companies are benefiting from cheap labour when goods are produced outside America. Nobody wins tariff wars as it affects both countries.

It is a bit scary though. Many federal workers are already applying even without been laid off and there are also many people who are still job hunting. There's so much pressure in the labor market.

Americans deserve all they are getting from Trump and Elon, they wanted strong men and they got it, they wanted immigrants to be treated like animals and they are getting it, they wanted American first and they are also getting that.

As far as they are concerned, it's been handled:
- Over 450 sponsorship licenses have been revoked
- The care visa route has been tightened through CQC regulations, etc
- A new policy is being rolled out to support and prioritise the employment of displaced workers who have lost their sponsorships.
- Enforced guidelines to ensure that firms do not pass on sponsorship costs to candidates
- Prevention of CoS abuse through widespread messaging on the illegality of paying/being made to pay for a job.

Will Scotland Yard chase "Dr" Kelvin across the ocean to bring him to justice? No. At the end of the day, they see it as Nigerians scamming Nigerians, Africans scamming Africans, Pakistanis scamming Pakistanis and so on. If many of the fraudsters or victims were white English, perhaps there would be a more robust police response.

Affected individuals could unite and seek to bring a civil lawsuit against the "Dr" and other fraudsters to recover their funds, I'm sure there is a wealth of evidence to support their claims.

Yup..and if those fraudsters are arrested the same Africans will pick up race card and started shouting racisim right left and centre.

Victims should go after Dr Kelvin, report him to American govt, his employers, business associates, go after all his social media accounts.. give him no rest of mind untill he pays up

The best decision of mine today as the UK is concerned is accepting my new reality asap after graduation and using my PSW to gain experience in care before getting into NHS which later sponsored me. While in PSW, I applied for jobs but it was always “We are sorry” or “We do not offer sponsorship for this role” until I got tired of it. The majority of my mates who use their PSW to work in some companies are being told they can't be sponsored because of new salary requirements or they lied to them they are trying to apply for sponsorship and later told them they are not applying again. As we speak, some are being scammed and still looking for a way out to remain in this country. Few who drive were lucky to get Dom care or living care. Few tried global talent visas and only one was successful. A friend was scammed £8,000 last February when desperation set in. It was at that point I realised I made the right choice. Now, I look at people who didn't even wait for PSW and switched to care visas immediately after graduation as smart people especially as most of them have family. I also feel if you are a couple, one person should have a leg in care job just for back up purpose unless you have a solid japa out of UK plan.

Another experience from a very close person to me is her employer(top firm) promised her sponsorship after the two years, the salary is way above this new threshold. They reimbursed her for the PSW. She found out she was 2-3 months pregnant after start date. By the time she came back from maternity leave, the sponsorship story changed form certain to uncertain. She wasn't sponsored.

Please, do whatever works for you. No age cap on when you can achieve your dreams unless you are planning to be a stripper 😀

I suggested this last yr here and was accused of encouraging Nigerians to settle for less. COS was almost free then, today people are paying ££££ and getting scammed. Funny people.

Traveling abroad through student visa is not a bad idea, i did the same so i will not discourage anyone However...don't do it on a limited budget, if you do? You will regret ever leaving Nigeria especially with family.

Thanks for this. Having the renewed passport before travelling to Naija would be the perfect situation and I am hopeful I to get it. I will ask during the biometrics. If not possible, I will call the airline to change the ticket date a couple of days before my intended flight.

Hello everyone, please at what point is an about to expire Nigerian passport invalidated?

My current passport expire in June and I have an appointment booked already for a renewal on April 26. I plan to travel on the 9th of May to be back in the UK towards the end of May.

Going by the recent updates that people get their renewed passport in just a few days after biometrics, I am hopeful of getting it before I travel but thought to check if I am still able to use my current passport in case I don't receive it on time.

You can also travel with expired passport and renew it in Nigeria

People should do their thorough research sir reasons is that some have fix ideal in their minds about certain countries been 'better' than others forgetting that there are no perfect societies. Reasons I will not name any country in particular, if someone can get information that #36M is OK to school in the UK then I believed the person can do research in other countries to find out schools that will be more cheaper. A friend met me for advise so I decided to bring his story here for a more broader thoughts from especially the experienced amongst us.

He works in Nigeria with a salary of about 600k monthly, he was able to raise 50m for japa which will cost him and his family about 36m to UK on study route.

Due to the current inflation, his office did a 100% salary increment making him to earn 1.2m monthly net.

His confusion now is, should he still japa or remain in Nigeria now his salary has improved?

1. Stay in Nigeria because you don't have the money, it will cost far more than 36M to study in the UK with your family.

2. Don't send your wife alone or with kids while you stay in Nigeria, you can not afford it based on your current salary and your marriage will be gone in no time

3. If you can afford it with relying on part time work to survive then go for it, it does worth the investment.

I received a message from a friend of mine who’s a travel agent who told me about a laundry job offer in Albania with a pay of €600 subject to upward review after probation period but I need to know if Albania is a viable country economically and if they are friendly to immigrants especially Africans and I will also like to know what the cost of living is like over there,I need to get informed details about the country before I decide whether to accept the offer or I decline.

1- UK homes are not meant for married couples. Unless you are a millionaire and can afford big house. Most naija couples are in tiny UK flats. Claustrophobia and they get tired of seeing each other. You better love spending time with each other cuz in winter when you can't go out it's just you and him in the tiny flat. It can be torture. Eventually someone gets tired of seeing the other and explodes in rage

2- many naija men are not used to reversing roles. They now have to change diaper and wash dishes and walk children to school and sweep the floor and wash clothes. Many men fight constantly because of this.

3- very hard for a woman to respect a powerless man who is behind enemy lines. Everytime you watch TV there is no one who looks like you. Makes you feel powerless. Like you are an unwanted alien intruding in another civilization. Your woman can never respect you under these circumstances

4-finsncial issues. Bills bills and taxation. Leads to lots of fight at home.

Is either that you have never lived in the UK or you know little or nothing about the UK.

I saw all that posts on FB, they are just repeating what others have said, there is no evidence anywhere that 1. She is a Nigerian and 2. That her action was caused by COS issue.
