GP2015: sir, I dont know the schools offering medicine with scholarship thats where the agent came in. Now, they wouldn't mention the school to you until you're committed. If i had anyone who knew any of these schools , I'd apply before now. You don't know because you haven't taken time out to search online, agents got the information from school website and now want to sell it. Start by searching for schools that offers your course then search for scholarship on their website. This is not difficult and there is no secret here |

GP2015: I was told of china and italy course- medicine So why do you need an agent for that? This is something you can do for yourself as s prospective student. Visit the school website and see if they offer any scholarship and see if you meet the requirements. |

GP2015: I would , if possible want to travel for my studies. I've had agencies who have scholarship opportunities for some countries that sponsor students. I know most of these scholarships and i know they are legitimate but im concerned about the agents, who would be given money for the processes.
If you are already studying abroad, have studied or would want to. please come in and help me verify this. Which country? |

Bandeco: Guy enta Germany. Easier admission. Easier to obtain visa. Free tuition. Engineering hub of the world. More technologically advance than Canada and more engineering savvy than Canada. Great engineering schools. More robust economy than Canada. Biggest economy in the Europe . You can also transition to work permit after studies. Better wages than Canada etc That is not entirely true because you need to deposit 8000 euros in blocked account to be able to get a visa and pay monthly insurance when you get to German, adding everything together in a year it cost more than studying in some colleges in Canada and no language problem. |

funtolash: Hmmmmm. Ok. But I don't understand what you mean by the untouchable. Is it that there is a clique and a leader or what? The reason am asking ( and sorry if it sounds silly) Is that I believe this is a public platform and the identity of alot and not known. Yes I agree friendship cld be form among people but you don't know for sure who the new person is. She/he might just be someone that will be valuable to you sometimes in the future. Guess it's the name calling that beats my imagination. I've never been an advocate for that whether virtual or real friends. And just as ifyalways said, we can either ignore the person or save the energy of the "e-slapping" for something more productive. Just saying though. But again make una no vex seniors, untouchable authorities and e-slappers.
Anyways let move on. Yes |

blackme: Thanks for your response, I really appreciate it. In my application I stated that the total personal cost of my trip to the uk is 600 and that is the money estimated by me for the trip that covers my ticket and miscellaneous expenditure. I didn't expect the ECO to calculate my ticket and cost of trip together since my sponsor clearly stated that she'd be funding my expenses while in the UK. Anyway if you say that's sufficient reason for refusal I accept. What then should be my next line of action? What do I need to do judging from the ECO's decision. I need your advice on how to proceed pls. Will your sponsor be paying for your ticket or just feeding and accommodation in the U.k? |
Travel › Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 3 by justwise(mod): 8:35pm On Mar 18, 2016 |
blackme: @justwise i'm new to comment here but i've closely followed the instructions, suggestions and submissions. Thus while applying for my UK visit visa I carefully studied the provisions and advice you and so many others highlighted and worked accordingly. I'm thus miffed by the decisions of the UK ECO. On the issue of visiting my friend: It is clearly stated on my form and in my invitation letter that my host is my cousin. On the issue of ties to Nigeria I submitted my marriage certificate, birth certificates of my kids. Etc . I also submitted my bank statements with a covering letter to explain the monies deposited and land purchase duplicate receipts to show proof of authenticity. The skye bank account is also my salary account reflecting more than the money required for my trip over a period of 6months. There was no lumping as the funds available and remitted were from land sales. There was also no reference to my sponsor in anyway despite the fact that I submitted original documents of her job appointment, statements of account, payslips, letter of invitation passport page(british citizen) earning of over £90k as a medical doctor etc. I am confused I need your advice. I still don't understand why my sponsor documents were not mentioned at all and d grounds for refusal are totally incomprehensible. That's why I need your help to help me understand. The ECO's decision was focused on your salary and the amount you budgeted for the trip which is far more than you earn in 2months, money from the property was not seen as a viable source of income hence the focus on your salary. |

nefertitiram: Lemme explain JW's stance. In all fairness. Let's use ds Bigfido's hosp for example.
So we call the Hosp Ara Jesu, yer.
Ara Jesu perhaps is super cheap. Maybe 3k for the full package.
Big fido drops the info. Free advert for a cheap hosp. NLders bombard dem with calls, Ghostmode peeps and spiritual members even show up there. The hosp now realizes oh boyee, demand don high, meanwhile supply of manpower and resources remains constant. Which factor becomes variable? PRICE! Case in question Mobap! What you are trying to gain by "helping people" becomes counter productive, cos if you had kept mum, the lucky few will have access to the old price.
Even if the hosp proves to be James bond and carries everybody, Doctores para ti that dropped big money to put advert will feel cheated. And may be discouraged from continuing the transaction.
Maybe Ara Jesu hosp had plans to pay Seun to gather customers, no need na. Big Fido don do the free publicity na. Seun don loss money be that.
So, the way forward is to behave like the Phoenix people. Drop hint, I don see package ooo! Those of you interested, join the bandwagon and carry the ministry to the permanent site in Phoenix. Dallas people don de coordinate themselves too.
This is beneficial to all parties, simply because, spiritual members and monitoring spirits will not help you destroy the opportunity before it gets to your turn.
If you want to help Ara Jesu, you can contact dem to get clients by advertising here, Seun suppose find us small commission sef.
Anyways, Bros JW, did I succeed in breaking it down? Couldn't have done it any better. |

Iwanawana: Oga Justwise, I believe any hospital or an establishment can only consider placing advert only when they have be made popular here by our folks atleast they would get to hear about nairaland. D hosp mentioned hasn't even been used here by anyone yet I presume. I, Bigfido and everyone who comes here knows that this is YOUR WORLD and we merely live in it but biko werenu nwayo(takeam easy). But I must commend your sacasm cuz eno get part 11. Just my observation teh teh. Welldone sir. 1. You are wrong, if this is my world then it will pay my rent, gas, electricity, water, internet, council tax and TV lenience bills and i will make money out of you 'living in my YOUR WORLD'. 2. Making hospitals and other establishments popular here will not necessarily encourage them to place a paid ad here rather they will increase their charges and STOPPED placing a paid ad here because some people here have inadvertently done their advert for them. The moment people discover 'cheap' hospital and profile it here suddenly they get bombarded by requests and as a result it becomes an expensive place to use. Some members here took the pain to write down suggestions for first page so as to make it easier for people to do their search and get a better deal, so i don't see the need for anybody to start posting name and price list of hospital here and then a page later somebody will come and ask for cheap hospital again? How many times do we have to keep discussing this? |

skytanics: This was what my friend passed through in the hands of Quarantine officers at the Muritala Mohammed International Airport and almost missed his flight. I know many others have experienced this extortion from these people giving Nigeria bad name, so we need to stop them.
Read what happened..
Please, I had a terrible experience on Saturday afternoon 12-03-2016 at Muritala Mohammed International Airport. I had an Emirates flight EK784 to Dubai scheduled to leave by 1420hrs. While on the queue, I saw the customs official - a man and the quarantine officer- a woman taking bribe from almost all the passengers before my turn. Bags were not even checked properly. When I approached the government officials desk with my bags, the customs officer on duty (ANDONG DAN) and quarantine officer - a woman (OLUBUMMO E.A.) told me to pay 4,000 Naira bribe to N.L. SULEIMAN also a government official on the desk. I had two pieces of Eutymol tooth paste, 4 packets of tetmosol soap, some clothes, books, garri and beans in my bags. I did not carry anything unlawful as far as I know.
I told them I will not pay any kobo, rather, I will do whatever the law says. Immediately, ANDONG DAN and OLUBUMMO E.A. shouted at me and asked me to go and look for a quarantine office and collect certificates for two pieces of Eutymol tooth paste, 4 packets of tetmosol soap, some clothes, books, garri and beans . I asked them, to tell me the provision of the law and that, I was ready to drop whatever is not permitted in my bag. They refused to attend to me, the quarantine woman said my eyes would see it, before I get back from the quarantine office, I would have missed my international flight. But, I kept demanding for justice. After a while, they described quarantine office in the airport to me. I had to rush to the quarantine office and if not for God, I would have missed my flight because I refused to pay bribe.
Please let us put this kind of officers where they belong by letting the authorities know what is happening. Credit to you for refusing to be scammed, we need more Nigerians like you who refuses to encourage this sort of daylight robbery |

phummy1821: Hello everyone, Abeg I need your advice/opinion. I got my visa almost 2years ago with my husband, our purpose of visit was for vacation in New York. At the time we applied and got the visa we didn't have any relation or family in the US so when asked at the interview if we would be staying with anyone we said no. Later that year my sister and her family got their green card and moved to the US. Now I'll be traveling next week with my mom to visit my sister in Maryland, do I need to inform the embassy that I now have a sister in US and I will be staying with her and I will be going to Maryland and not New York as stated during my interview? I intend to go with my marriage certificate, change of name and birth certificate to prove my relation with my mom. Note: my husband has already used his own visa but he enter thru New York so there was no problem. I just don't want any wahala at the poe. Thanks. Not at all, not necessary |

I painstakingly called hospitals, found a cheap one and then posted it here even without putting their number and I expressively wrote it in the post that people should further research them.
