I will agree that most people from Nigeria came to Europe with visiting visa and subsequently get legal status but I will disagree if those options (Asylum, marriage to national etc) they use to legalize themselves are still feasible. Yes, few may be getting through but majority are not.
Also, those days asylum system in Europe are well organized and asylum seekers were well taking care of but gone are those days.
I think this should be personal decision and what baffles me is how people could continue to ask this type of question. Want people to advise you to do illegal things! I can understand if you are already in that situation then you can ask for solutions out.
It is your choice, you already understand that you cannot stay beyond your visa date and if you choose to do so then you can face it like every other person in the same situation.
Travel › Re: l by juzme: 7:31pm On Jun 16, 2011
You didn’t explain your circumstance very well and it may be difficult for people to advise you. Well, I assumed you made application for residence under Zambrano and it was refused on the ground that you didn’t provide evidence of entry clearance. (Which means you are illegal in UK). I think the reason HO gave for the refusal was wrong. I think it is better for you to go for a review. You should provide all evidence that you play vital roles in the upbringing of your kids. And of course, you have to attach a cover letter stating the way you enter the country and how you met your spouse.
Travel › Re: Any Nairaland In Denmark ? by juzme: 1:27pm On Jun 13, 2011
@kennybuda
You sound so much like novice to me who don’t really know much about anything in Europe. And I still think you are not genuine in your search for information.
First, you said you are living in Spain and you are in Hungary for your permanent resident which you said is equivalent like being a citizen. Well, I still cannot tell how that is possible for you to live in Spain and still entitle to permanent resident in Hungary. Perhaps, you can explain to us how that is possible should explain to us. Even if you married to Hungarian citizen. You also said you lived in Europe for 6 years and of which I believed was not in one country in Europe.
Secondly, what do you know about establishing business in Denmark that you are asking for shop price (and what you mean by shop price?).
How are you entitled to work in Denmark or established business in Denmark? Is your EU family member working in Denmark or going to move with you to Denmark?
Travel › Re: Any Nairaland In Denmark ? by juzme: 11:27am On Jun 12, 2011
There are many things to consider before you move to non-English European countries.
Language: will you be able to understand and speak their language for a good duration of time that will enable you to find job? It is quite difficult to find job without basic knowledge of the country’s primary language also considering your race.
Finance: How much do you have to cope with living until you find job? Cost of living is mostly high in Western Europe compare to Eastern Europe. Accommodation is expensive. Can always manage with feeding and medical care are always expensive if you are not entitle to free medical care.
And most importantly, will you be allowed to work in that country because if you don’t have work permit it will be much difficult for you to find any job.
Your qualification and work experience is very important to secure a job.
Lastly, it is not always easy moving to a new country but you can give it a go.
I would not rise to the bait about the snide insinuation about my reading and comprehension skills. No offence intended and I don't mean to be rude, but for want of a better way to put it - Does the part I highlighted in your post make sense to you or anyone else for that matter? Or to paraphrase this "why do children who are EU citizens need a Zambrano to allow their parents to stay when these same children's citizenship was solely gotten by virtue of their parent's or atimes grandparent's status huh huh huh

To clue you in a bit, those parents in the Zambrano were illegal immigrants, so how did their children obtain citizenship huh huh huh

To help you connect the dot, what the Zambrano ruling did was confer the right to automatic citizenship on these children, because they did not have this right before, as well as give their Parents the right of residence to allow them raise these children in their Country of birth.
On 1 September 2003, Mr Ruiz Zambrano’s wife gave birth to a second child, Diego, who acquired Belgian nationality pursuant to Article 10(1) of the Belgian Nationality Code, since Columbian law does not recognise Colombian nationality for children born outside the territory of Colombia where the parents do not take specific steps to have them so recognized.
Under Article 10(1) of the Belgian Nationality Code (Moniteur belge, 12 July 1984, p. 10095), in the version applicable at the time of the facts in the main proceedings (‘the Belgian Nationality Code’):
‘Any child born in Belgium who, at any time before reaching the age of 18 or being declared of full age, would be stateless if he or she did not have Belgian nationality, shall be Belgian.’
The aboved statements were the way the acquired their citizenship.
Their parents don’t have right to work in Belgium.

A refusal to grant a right of residence to a third country national with dependent minor children in the Member State where those children are nationals and reside, and also a refusal to grant such a person a work permit, has such an effect.
It must be assumed that such a refusal would lead to a situation where those children, citizens of the Union, would have to leave the territory of the Union in order to accompany their parents. Similarly, if a work permit were not granted to such a person, he would risk not having sufficient resources to provide for himself and his family, which would also result in the children, citizens of the Union, having to leave the territory of the Union. In those circumstances, those citizens of the Union would, as a result, be unable to exercise the substance of the rights conferred on them by virtue of their status as citizens of the Union.
The above statements were part of the judgment.
Therefore, you child MUST be Eu citizen before you can benefit from Zambrano ruling.  I hope this clarify this matter.
* Stay back in UK, your child is not entitled to automatic citizenship and a British passport, but the child is always entitled to everything a British citizen is entitled to. Before you would have had to go underground, now with the recent Zambrano case, you have the right to raise your child and reside in his/her Country of birth.
Did you actually read the Zambrano ruling? I will advise that you go back and read the judgment very well again and comprehend it. Because you may be leading people who don’t understand into wasting their money with a solicitor and/or taking a risk that will never benefit then.
You just said that the child will not be granted automatic British citizen and at the same time you said the mother will benefit under Zambrano ruling. Sorry, but that is not correct. Zambrano ruling is ONLY applied to parents that their child(ren) are EU citizen.

Asians still face the same problem if the employer put priority in communication skills. I dont understand why brought the Asian into the matter. Nevertheless, if you want to compare the chances of having gainful employment between Nigerians and Asians then there are so many factors to consider. Justwise has given you one of the factors. Others may include, colour of skin, industry sector, native country’s prestige, degree of native country’s development, awareness created by the government of the native country. Etc.
Again, Accent problem is not just Nigerian problem. Even some UK citizen has the same problem when they move to other countries like US.  E.g. cheryl cole faced the same problem with US X- factor until recently.

ThiefOfHearts:
Asians do well despite an accent so Im betting that you dont speak well period.
I have to disagree with you. It is typically accent problem and most Nigerian born and raised in Nigeria has the same accent problem. It is always a problem when it comes to communicating with foreigners as most of them may not understand us.  Hence, it is very important to speak slowly and clearly to minimize this problem.
omega25red:
First off the reason why someone can boldly tell you that your accent is the reason why you are not being hired is because you are based in Nigeria.
No, language barrier is never regarded as discriminatory factors when it comes to hiring employee. Communication is one of the important skills that every employer consider when hiring staff. If their client or other employee can’t understand you why would they hire you?
Well, I think if faking it is actually helping you, then fake it.  It depends on if you are comfortable with it and if they people you are communicating with understand you.

I still don’t get the clear picture of this story. Still wonder why the few media that reported this incident was just the Africa media and even in German language it is hardly go find on the web except very few. And I don’t think this is a little matter when life is involved.
In a civilized world like Germany I don’t think it is proper to use gun on person who only pose threat with knife or dagger. There are other ways to restrain such person. Mind you it is only one person against two police officer and therefore, if what we just read was what happen then the police officer should be charged for manslaughter.

And guys, if u have any beautiful lady out there, introduce them.
this is what you will get

A 34-year-old Nigerian national living in Nottingham was arrested by officers at the University of Nottingham on suspicion of conspiracy to breach immigration law. The man is believed to have organised sham marriages between Nigerian men and Dutch women with the ceremonies held at a church in Nottingham.

A sham marriage typically occurs when a non-European national marries someone from the European Economic Area, including the Netherlands and the UK, as a means of attempting to gain long-term residency and the right to work and claim benefits in this country.

Six arrests were made in Nottingham this morning - 4 men and 2 women. One female was arrested in London, 1 male in Ramsgate and 1 male in Rotterdam.

@ Hoodrat, I don’t see any different between you and Suxes2206 here. I believe here that anyone who is against suxes2006 here is doing that because they want to protect the image of Nigerian home and abroad. You prefer to do a “charm marriage” which is still illegal and will go along way making it difficult for true Nigerians that have a genuine marriage obtaining their residence.
Nigerian university or college transcripts are not accepted in many universities and colleges in the west except it is from the university direct to them. Of course, Hoodrat & suxes2006 should know why? I understand suxes2006 is still young and may have not step out of Nigeria to know how Nigerians are being treated outside. After all engaging in all those illegal activities to obtain your documents, you don’t know you are making it difficult for yourself too because that your family member that you want them to visit you in UK or else will find it difficult to obtain visa.
When shall we learn to do things in normal and proper way no matter how long it may take? There are alot of benefits to this.

I know some people here will disagree with me but my opinion is that if it is not easy for you in Nigeria it will not be easy for you in Uk at the moment as well. So dont sale your property or borrow money to migrate to UK at all means. Continue to search for job in Nigeria or invest the money you have in Nigeria, you may be better off.
if you insist on migrating to UK then visit their embassy in Nigeria or check their relevant website to get appropriate information.

Nigerian immigration accept only major credit cards. It is not Nigeria embassy in germany's fault. that is what Nigerian authority want.
Anyway, if you dont have any of the major credit card to apply for passport you can obtain 3V credit card https://www.3vcash.de/. It is accepted in anywhere visa card is requested. All he needs to do is to buy credit on the card and the use it for the payment.

@demmydems
I like your honesty. I hope people who want to go and study in some eastern european country solely on the aim finding a job during their study period will have something to gain from your contribution. People should know it is not always easy to find parttime job these days if you are a student. Therefore, you must have enough finance to support yourself during your study period.
As regard to Norway you as seeking for summer job, you dont need to apply for work permit for your summer job, moreover, it is not going to be easy getting a work permit as a student who want to only work for a short period.
As someone already mention, you can find something easier if you know anyone in Norway. If the person is ready to host you during your period of stay, you can go into any restaurant and ask them for jobs. Mostly in summer, some restaurants hire people to help them during the summer period. You can as well ask for jobs in pubs. Also, there are some farms that need labourers to pick fruits and vegetables. Norway has some fish markets where you can go on daily basis to find job. I cant remember the name of the place. Good luck!

Wrong advice. It is a problem. You are to check for error (e.g spelling mistakes) before you take the passport from the issuing authority.
All you need to do is to go back to the issuing authority and identify the mistake. epassport is not like the standard passport because they have your fingerprint. They will crosscheck your application form which i believe you filled online.
they can decide to issue you another passport or print the correct name on the same passport and stamp it.
As for your bank statement that is for you and your bank to correct. Show them the proof of the correct name and let them correct it.
Travel › Re: Re-issue Of Nigerian E-passport Advise by juzme: 9:50pm On Mar 22, 2011
Unfortunately and funny enough NO Nigerian embassy abroad will re issue you with epassport. You can only do that in Nigeria. You can only get new epassport abroad only if you were using the standard passport
I still do not understand the reason why they are not re issuing epassport at Nigeria embassy abroad.
As regard to your child bearing your surname, I don't think you need your passport even if you are not married. At the hospital or maternity clinic that your wife will give birth they have to registered you as the father of the child once your partner or wife consent to that. So that shouldn't be bothering you.

I think the answer to the questions is that you should fly through Greece to Germany if you have a valid Greek residency. Flight ticket to Germany from Greece if purchase on time should be like 80euro.
But if the passport is not yours then avoid using it as you will end up being deported and if the passport is yours and you have valid Greece Residency there is nothing to worry about as they will surely allow you to enter germany after scrutinizing you and also you are certain to answer their questions since you live in Greece before.

If you mean living and working in another eu country with your work permit from Greece then the answer is NO. If you mean visiting another EU countries then the answer is YES!
You will need to get another work permit in for the country you intend to move to. Even some eu countries don't allow you to switch to another employer when you are on work permit at a certain period.
Therefore, if you wish to move to germany for work, you are advised to obtain a work permit prior to starting work.

I think we are all saying different things here. Working illegal without document and working with fake document. I still believe in Uk that possesion of fake document with intent to work or working it is an offence and offenders are jailed for it.
If you are caught working without any document, your employer will be liable for it and in that case you may only be deported.
Travel › Re: 400 Nigerian Prisoners In Turkey Wants Jonathan's Intervention. by juzme: 10:11pm On Jan 31, 2011
Anyway, I do not understand clearly what this argument is all about. But to my understanding, possesion of fake document is an offence with intent of using to work or working with it or using it for any other things in most European countries. Offenders are usually jailed for it.
Of course, some people get caught while working with fake document and the immigration officer may not press charges on the person instead they will be placed in the detention camp for deportation. And I think they do this because they dont want to spend money by going to court.

People caught working with fake document will be usually charged to court for possession of fake document. And Of course, if convicted you will be jailed. For immigration offences like being illegal immigrant you will be detained for deportation and you will be detained until you may provide a travel document.
But I don't think this need to be argued as there are so many scenarios in this issue and every case is treated individually.
Moreover, there are mean immigration officers who may bring charges against you for for things they are not clear with. E.g may claim your passport or some document that he or she found on you is fake. Nigerians has bad reputation when it comes to immigration issue.

You need to be sincere as to how the money went missing in your account. For instance, if you bought properties then you need to inform them about that and show some proofs of that. e.g Reciept or invoice. if you used it for business transaction then you need to write about that.
But I think what is important is not really the amount of money in your statement but rather how the money is flowing into your account. If you are a business person then they may understand when there is shortage of money in your account provided you show proof of your business e.g. your written invoice, business registration. if you work then payslip will be fine.
Money cant just go missing in your account without you knowing where it go.
If you borrowed the money to deposit in your account in your initial application then, better forget about the application. You may recieve a ban if they discover that you lied in your account initially.
Travel › Re: Appeal Allowed by juzme: 1:25pm On Jan 27, 2011
An Embassy made a decision on your visa application and you thought that the decision was wrongly made. You appealled the decision. (won or granted) was the appeal granted (allowed after you appeal) or did you win(i.e visa approved) the appeal after they have granted appeal and ask you to resubmit application and review your case once again. Sorry but Im confused in your case. I guess it is two different thing here. Embassy has ight to refuse the application after reviewing your case based on your fresh document.
When embassy grant an appeal it means you must submit all the necessarily documents that shows you are qualified. It does matter you have submitted them in the past especially if the document is something that changes over time. e.g Bank statement, payslips etc.
so if they ask for your bank statement then you must resubmit a recent one. For your case you may have 2 choices. 1. submit your statement even though the amount is less than what they required and explain with proof why it is low than before. 2. Write to them that you are no longer interested in visiting for now for some reasons.
Best of luck!

@Kidonig you dont need to use all your energy trying to convince Tensor777. I think this posting is quite clear. Noone is telling anyone not to come to UK rather it is a kind of warning or advice on the majority who think UK is still a place you can make good money while living as a student. By the way, Noone also is saying that Education is not very important especially when you obtain it from the western countries.
And for someone to tell us here that it is easy to find a part time job these days in Uk, the person is not telling us the truth. I have friends for the past one year they dont have job and many of them have finished their Masters and some of them switch to other courses while some could not switch because of financial problem. I dont want to generalize but most people I have seen has this problem. Of course there are people doing well in UK and those people have established long time ago. I think we are talking about PROSPECTIVE STUDENTs who may have high expectation from UK. Sure, if you just want to acquire education and then think of what do next then you can always choose any country of your choice.
Again, nobody is comparing UK with Nigeria. Noone is saying that UK education is of low standard here. We are talking about economic gain during and after your study.
Neverthless, there are people who could be very lucky in life. So if you are the kind of person who believe in luck then you dont need to take any advice from here.
Travel › Re: The Uk Is A Trap. Don't Come Here To Study: by juzme: 7:33pm On Jan 04, 2011
The OP described UK as a trap for foriegn students like Nigeria. Yes, it is actually a trap at the moment. Consider a chap from Nigeria whoses parents or family sold all their properties to secure admission and pay the tution fees for the person in order to enable him or her study in UK. The person entered UK with expectation of finding a job while studying in UK and also settling down in UK after his/her studies. There are great expectation from his family back in Nigeria that once he/she is in Uk he/she will be able to get the money they spent on him/her.
Unfortunately, due to economic crisis in UK the person was unable to get a job within one year he or she entered UK. And he or she continue to demand for money from home while living on hope that it will be better. His/her family back home who had sold most of their properties went to borrow money so that their daughter or son will complete his/her education and live in UK. For 4 years this person was still unable to pay all the money his/her parents spent on him or her. and Unfortunately too, he or she is illegal in UK because he or she could not meet the requirements to regularize his or her stay in UK. I dont know what you want to say to the categories of people that find themselves in this kind of situation. This categories of people are trap in Uk as they will never wish to go back to Nigeria.
Well, if your family are very rich and are well connected in Nigeria then you can always come to UK to study. But if not please try Australia, canada, US and even Norway. (for Norway, you must learn their language before you can be successful)
Travel › Re: The Uk Is A Trap. Don't Come Here To Study: by juzme: 1:24pm On Jan 04, 2011
I guess the OP made hiself clear in his posts. He is not discouraging anyone rather he is placing a warming sign for anyone who wishes to come to UK for study. And the truth of the matter is that most Nigerians that move to Uk for their studies do not actually want to go back home after their studies. The same with Indians.
Apart from the recession, UK government is making it quite difficult for anyone who wishes to settled in UK and not only those who want to study but different categories of people who wishes to settled in UK. E.g. even people who married UK citizen or eu citizen are finding it difficult as well.
Yes, I agree you cannot compare UK with Nigeria. But it will be good that anyone who want to come to Uk for study know that if you want to settle in Uk after your study that it is no longer easy.
It will be better for you to have a concrete plans for yourself even if you want to move to any countries for your studies.
Personally, I cannot encourage those people whose family are not rich in Nigeria to move to UK for their study at the moment execpt their family are ready to pay all their tution fees and living throughout their stay in UK.
