I believe that Humans have freewill and the fact that God is Omniscient does not negate that freewill. For example, He warned Cain after his sacrifice was rejected that he should be careful lest he fall into temptation. Cain didn't listen but instead yielded. Cain could've chosen the other route. He wasn't compelled to kill his brother. That God already knows what He'd do even if he were to make the good choice doesn't change anything. The other aspect is that we also have to balance His Ominscience with His Omnipotence and other attributes. Nothing is beyond His control. He has the power to rein in any loose cannon. He foreknew Man was going to fall in garden; that was why the scripture always says the Lamb that was slain before the foundation of the world. Nothing catches Him unawares. Also bear in mind that God exists in Eternity (Eternity past, present & future). He allows a brief period which we refer to as time(years, months, etc) to take place. After that's unfolded, everything also goes back to eternity. Time ceases. If you read the writings of Paul He talks about the great abdication where the Son hands over everything to the Father who now becomes all in all. What I'm trying to say in essence is that, He's in control of all. Every living and non living thing is tied to Him. If His world is destroyed, He knew it wasgoing to happen and what He'd do. He can always make it anew. I have a lot more to say but not that much time. |
Sounds like you are in the Navy. |
@Thread Starter, My guy, forget poetry o. That one na olden days. Just gather some cash. Buy girls recharge cards and you are set. ![]() |
Who said Charles De Gaulle (Paris) is one of the best? That's the worst airport ever. Terrible. I hate it. And those French people, Don't get me started. |
Me too. Contact me via Nairaland. Thanks |
@Ynot. That was my thought as well until I saw this. |
Bolarge, I wouldn't kick you while you on the ground already. Lord knows we've all had our own share of mistakes. However, from what I'm hearing, sex wasn't involved yet so things might be a little easier. The trust factor is what would take a while to be built up again. On the other hand, it seems like you only showed penitence after she threatened to leave you. That to me shows that you underestimated human beings. Whatever you don't value or appreciate would go down. A lot of men do that. After they're married or gotten what they wanted they become proud and stopped showing affection to their spouses. It's when they see the spouses say screw it and damn the consequences that they start running from pillar to post. My suggestion is that you seek forgiveness from the Lord and also from your wife. Getting back together should be the last thing on your mind right now. Let your goal be how to rebuild that trust. Take baby steps. I pray the Lord to speak to your wife and also grant you wisdom in this situation. I pray He'd also heal all the wounds because I know both of you are hurting. |

@Walelead, I guess a lot of folks had already given credit card bad names telling you to stay away from them. Here's my opinion: trash all that talk. You need credit cards. 1. I'm not sure where others reside but in yankee, you can do virtually nothing substantial unless you have credit. Even bad credit is better than none (oxymoron right?) 2. Without credit, no one would loan you money to buy a house or even a car. But I guess if you have $300,000 to pay in cash right away to acquire a house you could. Unfortunately doing that is not a wise financial move. 3. To do the above, you'd need to build your credit. It doesn't happen overnight. With credit cards, you'd be able to start building your credit one step at a time. 4. The way western world is setup, it's around credit. If you have good credit, you'd be able to get a whole lot done. Now what you need is to be able to manage your credit and not let it manage you. Just like you master money and not let it master you. Several folks that have been able to do this successfully have reaped the rewards. Good luck! |
@Thread starter. It's real easy. Don't get yourself all worked up. You'd be tensed and it'd look like you're just reciting something you cram. Just be yourself. Relax and let your communication flow freely. Next, brush up on your humor skills. Girls always like guys that'd make them laugh/smile. Then learn to flatter/compliments. Girls like to be complimented/appreciated. Also remember, there three types of response you'd get from a girl: Yes, try harder or absolute no. Remember that commnuication/response is only 10% verbal, others is through body language. Learn to discern which is which. It's always trial and error until you hone your skills and decrease your "no" rate. Coach |
If this is anything to go by, she doesn't like her new position and didn't attend the inauguration either. http://www.thetimesofnigeria.com/in, ask=view&id=824 |
@LuvChild. I'll suggest you reach out and increase your circle of friends. Find folks that you share common interest with may be music, movie, volunteer work or anything and get involved for a start. Unlike what some folks have said, humans are meant to be relational. We all yearn to love and to be loved by someone. You'll need to break out of your comfort zone of just staying at home all the time. Be open to new ideas and new things. Go to salsa class, attend book reading sessions or check your local newspaper or online listings for activities. You'll be surprised at how many folks share your interests. Change doesn't have to be drastic or strange, it can be a good thing. I wish you the best. Please keep us posted. Wishing you God's blessings. ![]() |
@Rottweiler, You are not much better than Osama and his crews who strapped themselves and blow up other people in the name of defending their god simply because they disagree with their deposition. Your post shows that you have a very low IQ. You are not capable of engaging in intellectual discussions or grapple with meaningful dialogues. It seems ability to think critically and correctly produces undue stress on that peanut size brain of yours. Do me a favor and exchange that piece of fecal matter you got upstairs with that of a rooster. ![]() |
I didn't read all the responses but let us be clear about some things. Performing 'Miracles' does not guarantee getting into heaven. Some would perform miracles/healings and still end up in hell. Not all supposed miracles/healings (to us as humans) have God's backing. Demons can do likewise only few years or months or days later it would be worse. There's an hierachy. A higher demon could expel a lesser one. Furthermore, the bible even said the antichrist would perform outrageous miracles and to the extent that the elects might also be deceived. Be forewarned. Dig into your bible, study and read and ask Holy Spirit for discernment and to rightly divide the word. There are some ministers that I watch them perform miracles and I respect that but when it comes to their teachings I tune out because they are full of heresies. Even if you call fire to come down, but your teachings are inconsistent with the Bible or you say God has given you a greater revelation than the scriptures, you are your own on that one. |
Ok Mr. Layi. I assume you are a Christian too. Evil is absence of good blah blah blah. Please respond to the passages below. "See, I have set before you this day life and good, and death and evil. Deuteronomy 30:15. "For the Lord had ordained to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, so that the Lord might bring evil upon Absalom." 2 Samuel 17:14 Then Moses turned again to the Lord and said, O Lord, why have You dealt evil to this people? Why did You ever send me? Exodus 5:22 And God sent an evil spirit between Abimelech and the men of Shechem, and the men of Shechem dealt treacherously with Abimelech, Judges 9:23 But the Spirit of the Lord departed from Saul, and an evil spirit from the Lord tormented and troubled him. I Sam 16:14, Lamentations 3: Vs 37Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, if the Lord has not authorized and commanded it? Vs38, Is it not out of the mouth of the Most High that evil and good both proceed [adversity and prosperity, physical evil or misfortune and physical good or happiness]? |
Twins, do you double speak or how do you justify your first position above unless you've changed your assertion. |
He is responsible for evil. |

To the thread starter, don't mind these folks. I know how you feel. I've been there before. Few years ago, I was in a similar situation. Bill Gates offered me $2m to program just a few lines for him in Visual Basic. Unfortunately for me, as I open my hands to collect the money na hin I hear gboa, one hot slap like that for my ear. Na my Oga sha. Hin say Boniface why didn't you open the gate when I honk my horn? I just wake up one time |
@gbenga_9ja, Wow. Except the youngins here, I'm not sure of anyone who hasn't heard of Transmission way back then and dealings with Cele. Transmission was very popular back then and rich always on the cover of magazines and stuff. As you started relaying the stories about losses my mind went straight to Transmission then I saw you mentioned it few lines later. Sorry for your loss oh. How are your family making out especially your pops? |
Please holla. I need a makeover for a website. Knowledge of flash is a must. |
For those that are confused. The original intent is murder and not kill. The equivalent interpretation in English is 'thou shall not commit murder' and not 'thou shall not kill'. New Bible translations will show you this difference. They're of different terms and usage in the original language. If you look at the old testament, there're several times when God ordered the children of Israel to kill as a national campaign or otherwise and God Himself did kill. For example, you could say that the government killed so and so and not the government commit murder. Like a well respected Preacher said in Naija during the numerous riots and bloodshed against the Xtians in the north, he said, "you don't expect me to kneel down and start praying if some fanatic were to come after my family to murder us". |
@Bibi..I don't know about your friend, but for others there are so many reasons why they may want to leave at all costs. By the way, did you say that your friend has been trying to go to Europe for 20years or did I misread the whole thing? |
Of course it's ok to cheat on your girlfriend but not your wife. ![]() |
One of the problems facing Naija is that na everybody want wear suit and being chauffeur driven everywhere. Folks are spending too much time digging other people's gold. I support the small business initiative as the only way out of this quagmire. We have too much graduates as it is. What we need is people who can create jobs for themselves. |
