VCTROKOYE: I have a valid UK visa that will expire in 2014. I equally have a good job.
Three members of my family are American citizens. My twin brother traveled thru visa lottery and two other ones, there husbands are citizens.
My brother has already applied for me for green card since 2006. And my brother has a good job just like me. He told me he would sponsor my trip to US and that I should apply. He is ready to send all the documents. My mother is there presently as a green card holder, although she would return on oct 20.
Please, how do I convince the consular office?
Don't bother applying. Your visa would most likely be denied. They'd pull the information that your brother already applied for green card for you; and regardless of what you say, the consular officer would think you are immigrating.

Travel / Re: A Thread For Travel Enthusiasts! by K2: 3:52pm On Apr 13, 2012
malaika: There is so much to do in Livingstone/Victoria Falls. I’m glad that they are now developing the town into more than a dusty outpost and backpacker’s haven, although that means the town would somehow lose its ‘colonial look’ charm but good for the locals trying to make a living. Many locals are converting their homes into budget lodges, while hotel chains like Protea Hotels are entering the fray on the higher end of the scale. Restaurants are cropping up here and there and fast food chains have taken hold. My two favourite restaurants from when I was last there: Ngoma Zanga, a traditional African/Zambian cuisine restaurant. In Ngoma Zanga customers sit on cushions on the floor, the tables are very low, and the first drink offered to customers is a traditional African sorghum brew, the kind that makes you see stars almost immediately. There’s a live band and a dance area where patrons leave their tables intermittently to go and shake themselves to make space for more food. Their food speciality is grilled bream fish served with the local starch, tomato salsa and vegetables like eggplant, pumpkin leaves (chibwabwa) and other delicious local greens. The other restaurant I love is inside a lodge called Ngolide. It is an Indian restaurant and they make authentic Indian dishes. The chef we met last time was ‘imported’ directly from northern India.
The awesome Vic Falls can be viewed from Zambia or from Zimbabwe. It’s a short skip over the border between the two countries and it’s perfectly safe on either side. The mist from the falls is quite heavy and can drench you in seconds, you can rent a raincoat or umbrella to stay dry – but where’s the fun in that? The falls can also be viewed via helicopter or microlite flight. Other activities: elephant back ride; bungee jumping for the strong of heart; booze cruise for exuberant youth (I don’t recommend this for the more sedate traveller like me); the more serene sunset cruise on the Zambezi, chefs prepare delicious 3 course meals and supply a wide selection of drinks, game viewing while on the boat and round it off with a spectacular sunset over the Zambezi while the boat drifts slowly towards the falls (but never gets there thankfully!). For the ladies of leisure, many of the upmarket hotels have spas; there’s a new mall now in Livingstone and I’ve seen a beauty bar there too and they offer the works: hands, feet and massages, very welcome after a long drive.
We normally spend 3-4 days in Vic Falls before proceeding north towards Zambia’s capital Lusaka. There are many towns dotting the 560km stretch from Livingstone to Lusaka – the town of Choma has a very interesting museum on the history of the Tonga people of Southern Zambia. I was amazed at how similar their cultural dress and customs are to the Zulus until I read that they were a group that ran away from Zulu King Shaka’s persecution centuries ago and settled there. Before or after each town is a police checkpoint. The police are very thorough in going through your documents when they see that the vehicle licence plate is not local, but they are very friendly and never ask for bribe, rather they will direct you to the nearest office to obtain a missing document. There are many roadside markets too and it’s nice to stop and browse the stalls. Sometimes we branch off to Lake Kariba and spend a day or two in one of the lakeside lodges before eventually reaching Lusaka for family visit.
Your experience makes me want to definitely try this. Is knowing the local languages a requirement to having hassle free trip? My presumption was that road travel across Africa could be dangerous and border control could make it not worth the effort.

This reeks of falsehood. The richest man in the history of the world is King Solomon. The estimate of his wealth in today's dollars is $780bn (billion). The second wealthiest in the world's history is John D Rockefeller(and first billionaire) whose wealth in today's dollars is $660bn (billion). Additionally, all Sam Walton's (Walmart) children, about five are worth between over $20bn to $35bn a piece. Do the math if Walton was alive. And finally, were Bill Gates not giving away over $30bn (billion) to charity he'd be worth over $100bn easily.

Shy-One:

@ OP

Whatever you choose or don't choose - whatever you do or don't do - Keep "God" first. God knows what human eyes cannot see. If you communicate daily with the maker of "all things."

He protects you, loves you, chooses for you.

People meet each other via shopping, farming, working, phone, online, through strangers, relatives, etc. There is no guarantee that who you "initially" meet in person will treat you better than someone you meet online or via phone. There is no guarantee that who you "initially" meet in person won't abuse you later up the road, won't cheat on you later up the road,

With God first - when he draws 2 people together, his methods of connecting "who is suppose to be connected" and that couple, group, company, etc., is blessed by him to experience harmony, truth, honesty, longevity in their relationship.

"So it matters not what be your lot" - however you meet. When both parties - you and your mate - both put God first - God is the equalizer and when God is first in the relationship, God is the attraction, God removes fears, that is my insurance.

This man in Nigeria - I am respectfully and sincerely grateful that he walked into my life and because his "quality is so supreme," - I am too busy reveling in his very existence in my life versus focusing on the vehicle of conveyance used to "get him there."
"Trust but verify", says Ronald Reagan. In as much as I know that this could genuine, I'd also caution you to be very, very careful. If the guy could visit the states on his own without need of your assistance, I’d say the probability that it’s for real is high. Remember the same God also said you should be wise as a serpent. I wish you the best. Keep us posted!

@Oladelove. I commend you for taking this first step. It's not easy for a man. My guess is that there's something in her past that she has yet to resolve. Maybe she's had a really traumatic experience sexually, physiologically that she hasn't shared. At this point I would recommend you take a step further and see a trained marriage/christian counselor (one that doesn't think sexual positions areare taboos) together. I believe in prayers. However, there is place for prayers and there's also a time to ask for help from trained professionals.

@OP what you are feeling is lust. Our emotions play such tricks on us that it's hard to see through the fog. Let me be very real with you, once yawa gaz, you'd forever regret what came over you. As a married man, if you want to live in a happy home and enjoy your wife and marriage, set boundaries and never breach them.
1. Never allow yourself to be alone in a car, room or even a lunch date with another woman/lady/girl that's not your wife.
2. Limit your wife's friend visits severely.
3. Invest your time in your wife. Reminesce with her about what you used to do while dating. Start doing those things. Be totally involved with your wife. Be romantic. Surprise her. Flirt with your wife. Take her out on dates. Don't just let her be tying wrapper and be pounding fufu everyday.
4. Temptation is always out there but according to the scripture: It is common, you are able, God is faithful and there's a way out. I Cor 10:13

My guy, we all face the same thing. The grass always look greener on the other side but someone has got to mow the lawn. Mow your own lawn, follow the above, divorce proof your house and chase the Jezebel away.

GurusForum:

Oil biz is real but very frustrating if you get into wrong hands.

I have my own experience. I have good buyers from USA. These guys are my facilitators in the US while I'm theirs in Nigeria. We have tried all we could do to do some deals but Nigerian sellers are always disappointing.

I have personally moved some Board of Directors of NNPC to US in 2006 when they attended OTC to see my people over there and they did. What frustrated that deal is greed. More so, we tried through the Consular General in New York for it, but nothing good came out of it.
We have direct contacts to oil majors in US coz my facilitators (their firm) are Project Manager for oil refineries and oil companies. They know their Vice Presidents/Directors one-on-one.
It came to a point where I stopped pursing it coz it drained me but my contacts kept calling me to continue. To be frank with you, am tired of wasting money on calls to useless sellers and their mandates.
If you are interested, I also reside in the US and working on behalf of a genuine seller that has been lifting for at least 20yrs. There's proof of past performance, POP, ATS etc that could be verified with NNPC. The seller is also issuing 2% performance bond (CIF). I am currently working on 2 deals. One is closing this week. There's also a TTO where the seller would assume all security and reassignment fee upfront. If interested let me know.

kesx:

crude oil deals are very complicated .
1)  A genuine seller with allocation  would require  letter of intent from the buyer along with buyers company profile -which is normal
The  buyer may be willing to release that but the brokers wont allow that  to get to the seller because of fear
   of circumvention.
2) for tto/ ttt deals brokers would need millions of naira to broker a deal  successfully.

3)  for CIF , one rarely get a seller ready to give 2% performance bond

4) for FOB and direct loading , buyer are not willing to chatter a vessel without assurance that vessel would be
loaded. -but this is the easiest . seller would not demand any fee, LOI  all seller would demand is CPA, Q88, ATL

most of the spot deals are dubious. because nobody would load 2million
For genuine buyers, we are able to offer 2million to 8 million barrels monthly. With CIF we’d give a 2% Performance bond. We are also willing to provide 2 – 5 years financial history once SPA is signed. Of course there’d be no payment until product is delivered to buyer’s destination and buyer performs Q & Q. Whoever is interested should leave their email. Please genuine buyers only. We have TTO as well. The seller would assume all the fees with reassignment and security and buyer would simply add this to payment for Crude when they’ve done their Q and Q. Genuine buyers only.

@Nuclearboy was Melchizedek a levite as well? By the way Jesus is always likened to a Priest and not a levite.
He's not the Ultimate Levite but the Ultimate High Priest. Why do you also fail to mention where the early christians would sell their lands and other possessions and bring the entire proceeds to the apostles for use? Wasn't that why Ananias and Saphirra were killed for holding back part of what they was supposed to bring? Also, read duroJim's response especially the Hebrews analysis.

I don't want to call these folks out as "baby Christians" because Christianity is not about age or status (though in Nigeria, they seem to have carried "Alaye father" into Chritianity as well)

Anyone that preaches tithes is the one robbing you, you can pay if you want but know that God doesn't need your money. If your "Church" is too big to be maintained by regular OFFERINGS, you need to downsize because MANY ARE CALLED, FEW ARE CHOSEN.Many are called few chosen should lead to downsizing a church?

The Earth is God's FOOTSTOOL, if you don't eat crumbs, why must you infer that God in all his glory requires a tenth of your income? While we are on the subject, please show us where TENT makers, Carpenters, Fishermen, etc paid a tenth in the Bible. Why did he required this and much more in the Old Testament? You also conveniently left out how the early believers sold all their possessions and had a common purse. "bringing it to the apostles"

No one should question how you disburse your resources but don't try to teach us nonsense by saying God requires it, God does not live in Temples/Tabernacles built with human hands. He DWELLS/LIVES in the Christian who is the Temple of God. why did he require the children of  Israel to build a tabernacle in the wilderness? Why did Solomon build a temple?

I wonder if any of you have Children and if so do you ask for a tenth of the allowance you give them weekly? They should pay to show TRUST in you now, tell them that and see if they don't call grandma or grandpa to let them know of daddy's "illness" cheesy what about God's test of Abraham's faith?

If you have to announce your Christianity, you have loads of work to do, be like Barean Christians and "test every spirit" and verify what they teach instead of follow follow like a herd. Have you read “go ye into the world and preach the gospel to every creature or “let your light so shine before men that they may see your good work and glorify your father which is in heaven?
Read my response to Tudor. This looks like you’re just copying and pasting from a website. Do you know the context where some of those statements you cited were made in the New Testament at all? Have you read and understood the Old Testament at all?
YoYou also didn’t answer my question of why attend a church if you don’t believe in their doctrines. Also, are you a committed member of the church or a worker? Beyond that, and most importantly are you born again?
