@Dollar. Definitely good information about T-Rowe. That record very impressive for a mutual fund in that short period. I saw UBA but no GTB though. I'd see if my 401k would allow me. Thanks |
@Coolme. Yes it's possible. Check with your broker and sell me your rights, ![]() |
@Princesege. Your comment about Cashcraft is on point. My account officer is really efficient as well. Very personable and willing to bend over backward to satisfy her client. Londoncool, if you need her info let me know and I'll hook you up. About AIICO being extended, I seriously doubt that. It's one of the most underpublicized POs. It's at a bargain. |
Haba, nobody sabi this song? RCCG dey sing am now!!! |
Could someone please provide me with the correct lyrics and meaning of this song? It goes thus: Anyiba Priye Priye Priye Anyiba Priye Priye Priye Anyiba Priye Priye Priye Anyiba Priye Priye Priye Many thanks |
@Roughcut or any person that has bought IPOs or POs for your children, how do you do it? I meant in filling the form? Do you fill their name and sign your signature as "for***" or you sign your regular signature? You may treat this as for someone that's NRN. @Naijadr, I have the UBA stuff as well but only because of the loan to buy FBN offer. Do you go through Tope each time or you have a direct link with the broker? I don't have a direct link. Do you also know if they had refunded your FBN money? My rep can't give me a straight answer. |
dacraziest:Check again. They do. |
A lot of folks have given up and attributed the Visa debacle to luck. That might not be too far from the truth. I knew one that about 10 years ago was refused a US visa but was granted this year. Another scenario, this time it was a British Visa. The consular just said I just don't want to give you. Gbam, There the was the case of a friend who went to the US embassy and the lady said, "I know you will not come back but I'm going to give you anyway". The guy had nothing as per ties whatsoever. |
@Hamlak, Like darkroll said, all the points you made describes someone who is immgrating and not visiting. Why do you care about import and exporting or landlords or even extending your stay after 2weeks as a tourist? Also like others said, why on earth would you go anywhere without arming yourself with adequate information on the workings of the society? Like many others, I'm interested in visiting Seychelles. To this end, I have corresponded with Darkroll since he's on ground to give an idea of what to expect. Anyhow, I'm glad you're doing better in Ghana. It's not where we are, but if we are having fun that matters. ![]() |
@Vic, Just shake the haters off. Let me paraphrase the words of Maitaima Sule. Some folks are determined to hate (dislike) you even if you do something good. Na you get time to dey post piksho. So what if you decide to globetrot through 12 countries in 5 years? What is it at their expense? Even if you did it looking for a wife and so what? If na me I go just tell dem to overdose on hot bleach. |
No. But I think you'd need someone after you win for Affidavit of Support ( I think). Basically that they're able shelter and care for you. |
ty4real:Are you sure you're not suffering from paralysis from analysis? Haba from 2005? Apply now. ![]() |
@All, The thread starter spoke based on his experience. I don't think he should be attacked for that. Some of what he said was also corroborated by some other folks living in those countries. The bottom line is that the Obodo Oyinbo is not what they used to be anymore. The world is changing and would continue to. Expect tighter immigration rules against folks of African descent and immigrants worldwide. What one could glean from this is that the odds are tilted against would be immigrants. Of course some would still succeed but the success rate is on the decline. My submission is that wherever you could find opportunity to improve your quality of life, go for it. @Futureposters, Please tell it like it this. We know you are living like a king in your janhd or whatever but give advice based on what goes on in the streets. Merci. |
Not advisable. The odds are seriously stacked against him. Just tell the individual to visit and go back to his job. That's more prestigious |
I don't want to write an epistle but I could see clearly the danger of half knowledge. I echo some of easimoni's thoughts. Also, NSE is way different from other markets. When other world markets were tumbling few months back, NSE was just on a bullish run; immune yes, immune from world tumblings. So that in itself throws your credit crunch theory out the window. Those of us who have been following and investing in NSE for years know this. Scaring folks by throwing out baseless stats and allegations without solid facts is boloni and down right criminal. Everyone should know what and what not to do regarding investing in Naija market. If you are in doubt, read the stock market tips thread that alone should more than put you on the right path. The discussions are very sound. There's no investment that is not risky. Naija market is like a sponge responding to the basic rule of money. i.e money flows to where it is appreciated. There're severally initiatives by the government and private sectors that would continue to make Nigeria a very profitable place to invest in. I can't possibly go into all of them now. Moreover, please if anyone does not have solid hard facts, refrain from blowing smoke up our rear ends. The folks on this board are intelligent; therefore, endeavor to backup your statement with a link/or links. Thanks. |
darkroll, I sent you an email already from gmail. |
@Darkroll, I'll be sending you an email. Thanks a lot. |
At your resort is it full serviced (I've forgotten the term now)i.e the food is included(morning, afternoon and evening), do they have shows at night that you could attend? Also let me plug in my Naija nature, do they have employee discounts like yours that I could use, Also let me know what a typical price would be for a small family(Husband and Wife and a toddler) for a few days. Also have you been to Le Reunion? I heard it's a good place to visit as well. |
@Darkroll, I'm I reading right that the cheapest hotel rents for $300 (US) per night ? That sounds too rather expensive. ![]() |

@D10, Congratulations. I know you must be feeling on top of the world. I'm always excited to see folks enjoy reward of persistence. By the way, I'd advise that as soon as you get there you start investigating other ways to be financially independent like real estate, or finding other niche etc Bukuru no be everything oh. Congratulations again and wishing you God's blessings. ![]() |
Na wa o. Common Trinidad dey disown us? I hope the Nigerian government is reciprocating likewise? All these countries should wait till our economy finally turn around, we'd make them pay through their noses. |
Anyone willing to comment on the recently listed Airline Services and Logistics? It looks like it's mimicking NACHO in price run up, |
Before anyone responds, I'm well aware that the PO's prospectus says PO buyers wouldn't benefit from bonus/dividend of the current year. However, if investors bought @ N33, supposedly a discount at the time to market price of N40.40, the stock split is finally applied and the same price drops to around the 30s region, where do new investors stand? Haven't they been short changed? |
Is the land still available and how much? |
Though others avoid your thread like a plague, let me indulge you a bit. Why are you not currently the richest man? Or are you allergic to wealth? |
The poster is joking now. Why are pepole taking him serious. Even his screen name says Jovial. 250k to pay for invitation letter. My friend you better face your studies. ![]() |
@ Windywendy, Thank God you are here. I've been trying to discuss with folks from stockmarketnigeria but since the forum don pafuka now na wa sef. Anyhow, have you seen Grief Nigeria PLC, the EPS looks real good if it's current. They've undergone some restructuring, just paid a dividend and I'm leaning towards the stock being undervalued. But as goodluck would've it with just like any other Naija companies it's hard to see some past results. I could only pull until 2005. There's a press release of their recent end of year (words only) no figures. Take a look and let me know if you could pull additional info and your thoughts. |
Assuming we are still talking about 200k to 800k and in 3 months and you be in your form as an investor. I'm familiar with Kiyosaki and if you read his Guide to Investing very well, you'd discovered he's against such supersonic ambition in the stock market. Go and familiarize yourself with his classification of types of investors. Furthermore, I'm sure you probably quoted out of context. Besides, investors that are well versed especially those familiar with matured markets know very well you could fall below ground zero and then some. Go and find out what the following terms are like calls, puts, naked puts, straddle, options, shorts etc While I don't dispute that some might have made the 5000% you cited, it is not NORMAL TO REALIZE SUCH RATE OF RETURN IN 3 MONTHS. DON'T TURN EXCEPTION TO THE RULE. For everyone that realized such gains, there're thousands that got burnt. One of the advantages of NSE is that Naija is still an emerging market. They don't want to scare away investors. That is why they're still throttling the amount you could lose or gain in a day. Eventually this would be done away with; and with the introduction of stock derivatives, water would find its level. Several pigs would be slaughtered and folks who supposedly thought they were gurus during abnormal cycles of bull runs would be taken to the cleaners. Iwerebor: |
@Iwerebor. I take that back. I read wrongly. I thought you meant you have 200k and want to turn it to 800k in 3 months. |
@Iwerebor. The scenario of 200k to 800k in three months is called greed. I can also guarantee you that unless you do away with this overnight, sudden riches mentality, not only in the stock market but also other investment strategies in your life, you're setting up yourself to get burnt. You might have the luck of the draw and hit a 1% chance of success but I can assure you that you'd end up going away naked in the market square. I'd advise you go back to the drawing board and set realistic expectations on your investments. As they say, "Bulls make money, Bears make money but the Pigs get slaughtered". |
