Lurker4Long: Excerpts from the SADC Technical Assessment report that was done ahead of the Mozambique mission. Had the report weeks ago but didn't want to post here before the mission commenced, for obvious reasons. This is not bad. Proper deployment by participating countries. I really like Botswana's deployment. Troops look very professional, vehicles standardised, plus the the Piranha V 8x8 IFVs deployed, beautiful!!! What's happening with the Badger program? It seems suspended. |

4th August 2021, Aiteo group, one of Nigeria’s largest indigenous energy companies will be donating an assortment of maritime assets to the Nigerian Navy including Gun boats, house boats, drones and interceptor boats.
In 2019 Aiteo founder Benedict Peters ordered 50 NPU-650 patrol boats from James boat shipbuilding company in Hanoi and 10 armoured Manta class interceptors from Hong Ha shipyard also in Vietnam.

bidexiii: Russia will license-produce the Thales Damocles reconnaissance and target designation pod for its air force strike aircraft, following successful tests of the system with Malaysia's Sukhoi Su-30MKM multirole fighter. Comparative trials involving Damocles and the Ural Optical and Mechanical Plant (UOMZ)-produced Sapsan and Solux targeting pods went in favour of the French design

attributed to the country's aircraft upgradation programs. Thanks bro, I didn't know this. |

They flew from Chengdu to Yola. Yola is Nigeria's main drone base. Chengdu is the location where Drones, F-7s, JF-17 infact China's main aircraft industry is based. If they had flown to Makurdi we would be talking F-7s. |

Whyem15: Lai Mohammed is a member of the federal executive council, ordinarily he should be more aware of any such deal more than the national assembly unless this was supposed to be a secret deal or maybe Lai Mohammed is doing his thing. Unless the national assembly was notified of the deal by the executive branch of government or they had a more detailed version of the supplementary budget, I do not see how they should know more than Lai Mohammed. I agree with this. |

Nemesis4you , please can you explain the technology used here.
I know Russian planes are not known to carry Reconnaissance pods (Sniper, Aselpod etc) so how are they able to carry out this sort of recon?

Cus if they do I wonder why they are still procuring standing fan powered aircrafts. You have a tendency for displaying gross stupidity, boy you need to get off this page if you have nothing reasonable to contribute. |

Whyem15: Why is it not possible that it's an army purchase? Considering they've been talking about army aviation wing for years and they've been training pilots too?
The airforce still has 5/6 MI-35s waiting to be delivered from Russia so why would they suddenly start going for American helos when they've been using Russian for several years. I don't believe the airforce is dumb. Can only be the army, they are the ones that purchase like morons. The army doesn't have any infrastructure on ground to fly advanced helicopters. Army aviation would most likely come in the form of light utility helicopters, not an advanced helicopter like the AH-Z1. We don't know the current status of the MI-35M's still in Russia. The only plausible purchaser is the Air Force. |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Battle Field Discussion (picture/video) Of African Military . by kabe1: 6:48pm On Jul 28, 2021 |
Whyem15: Thank God the deal was blocked. Why would the army be spending $800 million on helicopters when they have huge defect of tanks, artilleries, and other ground systems. Common protected troops carrying vehicles they don't have they are now going to buy 12 outdated AH-1 helicopters. I guess it's the APKWS that is carrying the bulk of the cost but it is still misplaced priority. The implication of this is that the army is basically trying to use almost all the cash they are getting from the supplementary budget to get the helicopters. AH-1 is old for God's sake. They don't even know when they would be getting another allocation of this magnitude and they want to waste the opportunity to get hundreds of IFVs, tanks, artilleries and MRAPs. Fvcking morons It's not possible that this is an army purchase. It is definitely Air Force, but a poor, I'll conceived purchase by the Air Force. |

RiceProducers: WVR combat (dogfighting) is not going to be happening unless you have stealth against stealth. Even then, how are you going to be sure you are not going against a machine (unmanned air superiority aircraft). Eventually, I think Russia has the answer to everything with its hypersonic missile technology. Man, you have way of making very amusing comments. In the most recent air to air kills in modern air combat, how many fighter jet shoot downs have occurred in BVR ranges? US navy shoot down of Syaaf fighter jet WVR, F-16 shoot down of SU-24 WVR, Pakistani shoot down of Indian MIG-21 WVR. What is the probability rate of BVR shoot downs? You seem to approach actual military engagements with a video game mentality. |
