Impossible in our lifetime! What will the economy be based on? Internal consumption or exporting? We simply do not have the population size to drive the manufacturing required for a 15 trillion dollar economy nor do we have the technical expertise needed to be proficient at manufacturing at that scale. Even if we import the right technology, we still won’t have the skilled workforce required on that grand scale overnight. Do you think that other countries will be standing still while Nigeria improves?

If it is as simple as electricity, why haven’t countries like Japan, Germany, South Korea, China, France, Canada overtaken the US? Most of the countries listed above have 24 hours of electricity, working higher institutions and, most important of all, longer working hours. In South Korea, most people start work at 8am and end at 10 pm. India graduates over 750,000 engineers each year and is now the software capital of the world. Asian countries are so good at manufacturing electronics that nobody else can do it cheaper and better. The Germans are so proficient at manufacturing automobiles and machineries that other countries are playing catch-up.

So exactly what is Nigeria’s growth going to come from in an open market? We can’t close our economy because we neither have the purchasing power nor population size needed. If we leave our economy open, the countries listed above will be able to manufacture cheaper and better products.

The only reason China has the potential of overtaking the US is because they have over 1 billion people to buy manufactured goods but as of right now, they are mostly exporting to other countries. Once they start to generate internal consumption of their goods and they don’t implode from inflation and other instabilities, it will only be a matter of time before they overtake the US, assuming they can get the energy needed to sustain that level of growth. Why do you think China is interested in Africa? They are simply looking for energy and natural resources for growth.

The only realistic goal in our lifetime is to surpass South Africa and other North African countries, which will be a great feat!

If only nigerians would Stop making Vision 20XX plans and gather into emergency teams to tackle the burning emergencies of the day?

If only nigerians would aim to be the best engineers instead of a generation of musicians ,motivational speakers and soccer players?

She is sixteen yrs old while i'm 4months older than her, but i look like a 24yrs old because i am very tall and huge and i have a very matured face. Men cheat because they evolved to spread their DNA and increase the chances that their DNA is passed on. Just look at the animal world most male animals will do it with as many females as possible.

Of course we are human and have set "rules" that restrict the male from spreading his DNA, its nly the strongest of men that will not cheat if cornered in a room with a fine sisi and guaranteed 100% that he will not be found out.

The only time i visit a fast food joint is when i take a girl out and we guys really dont have a craving for junk food like the ladies and the only crave we might have is alcohol so stop lying through your teeth.

The reason why we may go to these joints is because the girl wants to go there and she wouldnt take no for an answer.Now not saying eating junk once in a while is bad because it might help if u are on a long trip and u cant get any other food except fast food but when u make it an every day affair thats when it becomes bad.Naija girls are our women and we should tell them the truth when we feel they are doing something wrong just as we except them to tell we men the truth when we are doing something wrong also.A man who keeps silent when his wife is binging on junk food and encourages her is not only wicked but a devil as well so abeg carry your rubbish somewere else about me being sexist.

So i take it that u assume that Obesity is not a serious issue that should be discussed right?.Wonder its not that of a serious case but the UK and the US goverments spend a lot of money trying to enlighten its ppl on the dangers of junk binging.Imagine a large section of the work force of a country afflicted with obesity which in turn affects the rate of their prodictive efforts which in turn might lead to a devastating effect on the economy and come around and tell me that obesity is not a serious issue

Its better eating boiled plantains,vegetables,rice than hamburgers,donuts or hotdogs.Before the fast food made its advent in nigeria ppl were not as obese as they now.Junk food contains high saturated food which is dangerious to the body system and the sooner which avoid it the better or else the ppl of productive age in nigeria will end up worse than europe.
