1. May D May D seem to be the architect of his own misfortune. Since releasing his debut album, the self acclaimed Sure Boy has been a very lazy artiste, choosing not to put out records every now and then. When he does, he seem to put out decent records. If he does this constantly, he would have released a hit record in the music year but he was only able to release one single all year, titled Ibadi. The video for the record came out only few weeks ago. If the likes of Davido, Wizkid can be releasing songs almost every month, May D has no excuse for his laziness. He had a fantastic 2013 though.

2. D’banj D’Banj has struggled to achieve musical success since parting ways with his former business partner, Don Jazzy. Business wise, D’Banj did well for himself though, with his recent deal being the one he signed with Beats by Dre, however he failed on musical grounds having released more than 4 singles in 2014, Koko Master doesn’t headline any show these days…

Wande Coal One of the biggest losers this year is Wande Coal. His work ethic also can be questioned. He was able to put out smash singles out in the year with Baby Hello, My Way and Plan B all dropping in 2014 but somehow, Wande Coal failed to match his previous height. The 29 year old still hasn’t released any project since 2009. That is almost 6 years now.

4. HKN Gang (B-Red, Sinarambo, Danagog, Deekay) Davido might have achieved musical success for himself however his role as a record label chief has to be questioned. Despite all the cash he has, connect, fame etc, the 22 year old music sensation doesn’t look like he will ever sign a music artiste that can make it in Nigeria’s music scene. All his 4 artistes have released at least 2 singles each in 2014, with all of them featuring him on a song aside Deekay. However, none of the 4 released a radio/club friendly single in 2014… They all released at least 1 video each. Total failure.


5. Modenine: Popularly crowned as Nigeria’s best rapper of all time, Modenine failed in 2014. No show, no endorsement, no hit single, nothing!He even released an album tagged Above Ground Level in July featuring artistes like Ice Prince, Don Jazzy, Reminisce, 9ice… Modenine still didn’t achieve musical success in the year, no wonder he was snubbed at the Headies 2014. The rapper himself admitted music has given him fame and not money in a recent interview.


6. Ruggedman: According to Ruggedman, he kickstarted Nigeria’s music revolution, but he has never been part of the revolution. The rapper also rolled out singles in 2014 with the most “successful” featuring another artiste who made this list Wande Coal (Bad combination)… The rapper isn’t getting gigs and awards however. Ruggedybaba is making money from his clothing line though.

7. Vector: vector swore he is going to make a comeback with his 2014 mixtape, #A7… #A7 was released in September 1st and till date none of the records on the tape has gone viral. He recently released a video for one of the songs, Shiga. Business wise, Vector did cash out though, he was able to sign a deal with Vitafoam according to reports.


8. Kayswitch: Another year another disappointment from Kayswitch. Widely believed to be more talented than his brother D’Banj, Kayswitch still hasn’t made a name for himself in Nigeria’s music scene since Mo’Hits era.


9. Tonto Dikeh: It appears Tonto Dikeh has given up on her quest to be a music star. The 29 year old signed into D’Banj’s DB records label in 2014… She released a single under DB Records imprint but ever since, her momentum and passion seem to have vanished. Poko Baby has since returned to her first love acting.Her label boss D’Banj also made this list.


10. Samklef: Producer Samklef couldn’t get his music career going in 2014. Despite picking fights with Wizkid for publicity reasons, the former hitmaker had a negligible music year. He released an album, droped 5 singles, 3 music videos… Still his music year was nothing to write home about.

They always promise to pay us N150, 000 for each manhood we could supply, and which they used for money ritual.” The suspect would also reveal that she has given birth to three children, two of whom she has sold for N200, 000. “I dropped out at JSS 3. I stopped going to school when I lost my father, but my mother is still alive. I joined a gang where some ladies initiated me into a cult. Our main concern is going after male organ for ritual. I have given birth to three children. I sold the first and second children for N200, 000 each. The third child is a boy and he is staying with my mother.” “On November 2014, the man met me at Oyima Street, Owerri. He gave me N2,000 to have sex with me. It was around 3.00pm. The victim took me to the hotel in Owerri and he was having sex with me.” “I was on top of him and when he was enjoying it, I brought out my blade and I started cutting his manhood. But it hadn’t cut off when he started to shout for help. Then they came to arrest me and he was rushed to the hospital. I was arrested and I have confessed to the police.” Meanwhile, the Imo State Commissioner of Police Abdulmajid Ali confirmed the story, saying that Agunta will soon be charged to court.

This year has witnessed lots of significant breaches ranging from a $40m cyber-heist by a Nigerian bank IT worker to the huge data leakage at Sony, just about a week ago.

Information Security expert, Rotimi Akinyele of PhynxLabs said online users can easily put themselves and their devices at risk, unless they take precautions and avoid the common mistakes highlighted below that could compromise their security.

Beware of the Bank Verification Number (BVN) Scam
The ongoing Bank Verification Number (BVN) introduced by the CBN as a means of uniquely identifying bank customers across the Nigerian Banking industry has provided a fertile ground for cyber criminals to defraud unsuspecting bank customers.

Scam emails purportedly sent from Banks/CBN are in circulation urging bank customers to visit a website to activate their BVN online as failure to do so would result in their account(s) and debit cards being deactivated.

Please note that BVN registration can only be done physically at a bank’s branch. There is no technology now to replace the physical capture of your biometric data which the BVN seeks to achieve.

Do NOT access your accounts from Public WIFi
Just because a WiFi is free doesn’t mean you should connect to it any time it’s available. When you’re banking or making other online payments, it’s better to connect with EDGE or 3G, even if it’s slower. It might only be 45seconds of doing an online bank transaction, but if the wireless network has been compromised, that is more than enough time needed for a cyber-criminal to collect your data.

Use a secure password
It’s crucial to always use strong passwords as passwords are the first line of defense against cyber crooks. Try not to use names of your family, pets, first car, mother’s maiden name, etc. as all these can be easily guessed, brute forced or even available on social media sites like facebook, twitter or instagram. Make sure to use a mixture of characters, numbers, and letters of at least 8 characters when choosing your password; as only this will add a high level of difficulty for any attempted password theft.

Also, do not reuse your passwords as a compromise on one would translate to a compromise on all.

Stay safe on social networking sites
Social media sites are increasingly becoming targets for spams, scams and other online attacks. Asides mining data from tons of “status updates” for targeted attacks, cyber criminals have mastered the act of baiting unsuspecting users with well-crafted short but compelling posts offering free entry to a Christmas competition with a fantastic prize. The general rule is “there is no free lunch or freebies on the internet – if you’re not buying a product then you are the product”. Users who click the links then inadvertently act as accomplices to the cyber-criminals because the malicious scripts would automatically re-post the links, images or videos on their contacts’ walls or timelines. If an offer looks too good to be true, it probably is. Do NOT click.

Protect yourself from fraudulent emails
If you receive an email urging you to download an unknown tax payment attachment or an email informing you of an urgent pending transaction and you need to login with your details to verify, DELETE that email. Such emails usually trick users into visiting the site, and once you do, viruses and spywares get downloaded on your device which automatically joins you to a network of enslaved computers that have been programmed to carry out malicious deeds. No reputable organization would send emails to collect user names, passwords, token keys or Debit/Credit card details.

The threats to your online accounts increase daily, however, the tips above can help you stay protected online while still providing the convenience online access offers you this holiday.

I have been married for 15 years now and the marriage has been blessed with 4 beautiful children. My hubby is a 5 minutes kind of man, making it absolutely impossible to enjoy sex with him. The whole problem started in November, when my ex and only boyfriend I had came into the country. His whole family travelled to the US while we were in our 3rd year at the University. When he newly travelled, we were always talking and he promised to come back for me provided I waited for him. After then, I met my husband through one of my friends. My friend celebrated her birthday and her fiancé came with his cousin who is now my husband. Things went wrong and we found ourselves into each others arm and you wouldn’t believe it I reached orgasm for the 1st time in my entire life. He was so good that I enjoyed every bit of the sex escapade.

Father Forces His Own Children To Have $£x With Family Dog, And Records It (LOOK) A ‘devoted family man’ who threw events for local police was allegedly part of ‘one of the most horrific sex rings in memory’ and made his children have sex with a dog. Christopher Sena, whose Facebook page presents an image of a loving husband and responsible father, was arrested on 23 counts that allege incest, bestiality and felony child abuse, sources said. And the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, who accuse Sena of operating in ‘one of the most horrific sex rings in memory’, say they recovered a videotape of two of his children having sex with the family dog

Sena was first arrested on a sexual assault charge in September. The videotape in question was discovered when his wife Deborah and ex-wife Terri were arrested on 11 December.
And the news comes as a shock to the community, in which Sena cultivated a friendly relationship with police and was well-liked by neighbours.

Many of the charges carry sentences that range up to life imprisonment.

Sometimes, most of us facebook users have wished one way or the other that we could dislike a particular picture, post, comment whatsoever, ranging from the ‘braggers’, to the óver sharers’ and what have you. Unfortunately, a button like this does not exist, but not to worry, it might real soon.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg has announced in a short video on his Facebook page that a ‘dislike’ button or something similar might be needed in the future to give users more freedom to express their feelings.

‘We’re thinking about it. On the dislike button… there are more sentiments that people want to express than just positivity or that they like something,’ he said.

‘The like button is really valuable because it’s a way for you to very quickly express a positive emotion or sentiment when someone puts themselves out there and shares something. ‘A lot of times people share things on Facebook that are sad moments in their lives or are tough, cultural or social things and often people tell us that they don’t feel comfortable pressing ‘like’ because ‘like’ isn’t the appropriate sentiment when someone lost a loved one or is talking of a very difficult issue.’

Zuckerberg stressed, however, that the ‘dislike’ or equivalent button would have to be a ‘force for good’ and not ‘demeaning the post’. The announcement represents a spectacular u-turn for Facebook, with former CTO and creator of the ‘like’ button Bret Taylor saying in October that there would ‘never’ be a ‘dislike’ option.

‘The main reason is that in the context of the social network, the negativity of that button has a lot of unfortunate consequences,’ he said.

So I guess we just keep our fingers crossed and expect whether or not Facebook will succumb to this burgeoning request by its users.

My dear entertainers who just lost out in your quest for public office, can you please gbe enu e soun so that we can concentrate on the election at hand? Despite your claims, we all know the reasons why you sought public office in the first place.

So many Nigerians have hurt their knees in praying to God to rid this nation of political miscreants and people with selfish motives in seeking public offices. So the fact that you all lost your primaries is a gargantuan sign that the system does not see you as worthy representatives of the Nigerian youths. You are the reasons why the youths are only being regarded as the future in a time like this when we are supposed to be the present.

Why is it surprising to you that you lost in the primaries? The system has been analytically taking notes of your below the par exploits even within the madhouse we call entertainment industry. Don’t you get it, because you are in the sacred ministry of receiving brown envelopes doesn’t make you qualified to administer or make laws.

In case you haven’t heard, there are so many things to consider before running for public office. I can bet that most of you don’t know the issues that matter to the people of your constituency. Have you asked yourself if you are fit for that constituency? What have you done prior to this time for the people you want to represent?

You can’t just wake up one morning and ride on a horse down the streets like Apostle Paul on his way to Damascus and expect to be applauded into the government house? Have you built up a sufficient resume? Despite what some people would have us believe, a vast majority of successful political careers are built around impressive resumes. Think about your resume objectively. Think about running for office as a job interview. How do you stack up to your likely competition? Don’t you think a prior involvement in your constituency would add some significant padding to your resume?

Another question is, are you electable? Are you the best candidate for the job? This is a question that anyone who wishes the best for his or her people should consider. Is there another potential candidate better suited to run and to serve than you are? Is it possible that your running could do more harm than good to your political ideals and priorities? Is there a better role for you politically? If you’re considering running simply as a way to get involved, maybe there’s another and better role for you. Wouldn’t your time and money be better spent in supporting another campaign or serving on a local board or advisory committee?

We are known as the dancing generation because of the lyrical content of your songs. To say in your interviews that you are running because you want to change the system is a lie from the pit of hell. Haven’t you heard that charity begins at home? What changes have you initiated in this madhouse we call entertainment industry? How many of you musicians seeking public office today have come out to protest against injustice artistes are facing in the hands of the cabals on radio? You are scared of challenging the smaller cabals at the radio stations who demand bribe before playing your songs, what would you do when faced with the ogbologbos in politics? You can’t give what you don’t have. A head that can’t produce meaningful lyrics cannot inspire anything meaningful in governance. If you can’t stand for anything with your art, then you surely don’t have what it takes to lead. The content of your songs says a lot about your mental capabilities.

What are your long term goals? Are you running because you feel that your so-called fame indicates you can win? Won’t your personal issues affect your constituency adversely? Or you think the people are ignorant? In politics, the stench in your life will always surface eventually even if you’re not willing to release the information yourself.

The masses have listened to your interviews and they know that most of you don’t have the necessary knowledge of the simplest of issues. There’s nothing like a campaign to expose your ignorance about a particular subject. If someone asked you a question about the particulars of an important issue, are you confident that you would be able to adequately answer it? Are you well informed about the bills or proposals currently under discussion in the elected body that you wish to serve in? Are there some important issues where you could legitimately be considered an expert?

Are you presentable? If you’re not presentable, it will have an adverse effect on your campaign. You are from a job district full of people who mostly care about material things. Don’t you know that in politics, when people think your priorities are different from theirs, they will be skeptical about supporting your candidacy?

Most of you entertainers that lost in the primaries would have been political liabilities, not the assets the people crave. Some shameless Nollywooders even went as far as citing Arnold Schwarzenegger’s entry into the California governorship race as their inspiration for running but it didn’t cross their minds that Schwarzenegger wouldn’t have been eligible to run for any election in America if he was a member of any organisation as corrupt and confused as the Actors Guild of Nigeria.

Finally, for those entertainers with intentions of seeking public office in 2019 which is just around the corner, now is the time to start working on those areas you need improvement. Get some professional help if necessary. You were booted out this time around because the people don’t trust your intentions. Today, your status says elegushi loading and tomorrow sees you borrow-posing in an exotic car. You are obviously on a mission to loot.

It is appalling that some entertainers are beginning to see politics as kalo-kalo and a place where people thrive in mago-mago. The same desperados have over time exhibited their willingness to put their hands in hot ororo as long as they can bring out the dodo. But that dodo has burnt their mouths this time around.

Men who smoke are more likely than non-smokers to lose the male sex chromosome – which could explain why male smokers are more prone to certain cancers than women who smoke, scientists have said.

Researchers found that male smokers had significantly fewer blood cells with a Y chromosome compared to non-smokers, and that the trend increased with heavy smoking – and disappeared when a man gave up cigarettes.

“We have previously demonstrated an association between loss of the Y chromosome in blood and greater risk for cancer. We now tested if there were any lifestyle or clinical factors that could be linked to loss of the Y chromosome,” said Lars Forsberg of Uppsala University in Sweden, who led the study published in the journal Science.

“Out of a large number of factors that were studied, such as age, blood pressure, diabetes, alcohol intake and smoking, we found that loss of the Y chromosome in a fraction of the blood cells was more common in smokers than in non-smokers,” Dr Forsberg said.

The risk was dose dependent, indicating that the more cigarettes a man smoked, the greater the proportion of blood cells with missing Y chromosomes. Giving up cigarettes led to a reversal of the mutation, Dr Forsberg said.

“These results indicate that smoking can cause loss of the Y chromosome, and that this process might be reversible. We found that the frequency of cells with loss of the Y chromosome was not different among ex-smokers compared to men who had never smoked. This discovery could be very persuasive for motivating smokers to quit,” he said.

A 27-year-old man, Austin Okonkwo, has been remanded in prison custody by an Evboriaria Chief Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ikpoba-Okha, Edo State, for allegedly raping an 11-year-old Down Syndrome girl.The accused, who was described with unprintable words when his victim was presented in the court, pleaded not guilty to the one-count charge preferred against him.Police Prosecutor, Aigbedion Obakpolor, informed the court that the offence was committed on November 29.When the case was mentioned, Chief Magistrate Frank Idiake, who refused the bail application, said rape cases were on the increase.A relative of the victim, who pleaded anonymity after the court sitting, said the accused took the girl to his room where the act was committed.The relative said the victim cried of pains in her private part, which led to the arrest of the accused.The case was adjourned to January 21, 2015 for continuation of trial.

The Ondo State Police Command has arrested four suspected cultists for gang-raping a girl in Ondo town, after which they stole her handset. According to the police, the victim (identity withheld) was raped as she was being initiated by the cultists.

The command said the rapists were among 14 cultists arrested alongside six suspected robbers, three burglars, one fraudster and four kidnappers terrorising the state. Parading the suspects, the state Police Commissioner, Isaac Eke, said items recovered include N11,000 cash, a Toyota Camry marked FST 48 AC valued at N1.7 million, Scania Lorry marked KWC 232XA, among others.Eke said the Toyota Camry which was stolen at Odode Idanre was recovered in Sapele, Delta State, by police detectives after one Afolabi Abiola took them there.

On the cult members arrested, the police chief said they had been responsible for murder, rape and stealing in Owo, Ondo and Akure towns. According to him, the cultists were arrested by a team of Special Anti-Cultist Squad, SACS. Eke said one Alhassan Shittu was duped to the tune of N1.5 million by some fraudsters under the pretence of awarding him a cable contract. He noted that one Jimoh Ogbo of Bako Kwali in Abuja was later arrested and had confessed and mentioned other members now at large.

The commissioner said seven suspected robbers used a lorry to block the Lagos/Ore expressway to rob a lorry loaded with 800 cartons of fish. The lorry was later recovered by detectives in Onitsha, Anambra State, adding that two suspects had been arrested in connection with the robbery. Eke added that three burglars were arrested after they stole foodstuff, handsets, laptops and other electronics.On the two policemen shot by suspected robbers, the commissioner said they died in the course of duty. According to him, the deceased were shot when they were deployed to the area following alleged robbery report.

President Goodluck Jonathan on Saturday assured Nigeriasn that the Boko Haram insurgency will soon come to an end.

He also stated that his administration will continue to strengthen security infrastructure, with a view to putting an end to the activities of the terrorists.

Jonathan stated this when he hosted a conglomerate of Igbo market and town union leaders in Lagos under the auspices of Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) led by Dr. Ifeanyi Ubah and Arthur Ezeh, at the State House in Marina.

“Talking about the unfortunate bomb incident in Kano yesterday (Friday) which formed the reason I couldn’t attend the creative art event in Lagos. I believe some of you were there. It was when we got to the State House here in the afternoon that we got the information.

“I just want to tell Nigerians that this phase will surely pass. This intimidation will not last. We will continue to improve on the technology needed to combat terrorism. This intimidation will soon end, I can assure you. Other countries which faced terrorism later defeated it, we shall overcome also”, Jonathan said.
He also thanked the Igbo leaders who represented the 158 recognised markets as well as many town unions in Lagos for vowing to deliver all Igbo votes to him during the 2015 Presidential election.

“I don’t know how to thank Igbos. I don’t know how to thank my brothers and sisters from the South-east. After serving this country, I will have to go and read literature and study all classical literary works by Chinua Achebe and others to be able to learn how to describe and thank my brothers from Igbo”, he said.

1. No fewer than 120 people were killed in the Thursday bomb blast that occurred at the Kano Central mosque. Report says about 280 others were injured in the attack believed to be orchestrated by the Boko Haram sect. Reports show that the said Central Mosque is where the Emir, Alhaji Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, usually leads prayers.

2. The Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Ayo Fayose, has risen in defence of president Goodluck Jonathan, condemning the continuous criticism of his government by former President, Olusegun Obasanjo. According to Fayose, Obasanjo had no moral justification to condemn Jonathan’s administration because he was a more corrupt leader. The Governor was speaking at a summit in Ife.

For insisting that he is no longer the Speaker of the House of Representative and for constantly undermining court order, Speaker, Aminu Tambuwal has asked the court to summon the IG of Police, Suleiman Abba to explain why he must not be jailed for his actions and utterances against the House and its leadership.

4. Students of Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, on Friday embarked on a protest over alleged obstruction of their examination by President Goodluck Jonathan who was in their institution. The students in their protest said the visit of Mr. President to the institution subjected them to hard condition as security operatives made them to trek to their classes, stopping buses from carrying out their normal services.

The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief John Oyegun, has disclosed that all aspirants seeking the party’s presidential ticket would be made to sign an undertaking during screening. He said the undertaking was imperative to ensure that the aspirants work in line with the party’s manifestoes if any of them assume office.

6. The Supreme Court yesterday dismissed a suit seeking to remove Kogi State Governor, Idris Wada, from office. The court, in its judgement delivered by the Justice Tanko Muhammed-led appeal panel, dismissed the suit earlier instituted by the defunct Congress for Progressive Change, CPC.

7. President Goodluck Jonathan has directed security agents to fully investigate the Friday bomb blast in the city of Kano. The President however sympathized with the people and Government of Kano State over the attack, particularly the families who lost their loved ones to the blast.

8. Some unknown gunmen have abducted three expatriate workers in Bayelsa State. Report says the workers were kidnapped on Wednesday, at Emakalakala in Ogbia local government area of the state. The said expatriates were reportedly working for a construction firm, Elmerit before they were taken away by their abductors.

9. The Kano state Governor, Dr. Rabiu Kwankwaso, yesterday, returned his completed nomination form to the APC’s national secretariat in Abuja. He was optimistic that he would emerge the party’s candidate for the 2015 presidential election. He however said that President Goodluck Jonathan does not deserve a second term, considering the state of the nation.


10. Doctors at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, on Friday embarked on a peaceful protest over three months salaries’ arrears, accusing the state government of deliberately victimizing them. The doctors were also protesting government recent action where it allegedly stopped residency programme at the hospital, and employing doctors as casual workers.
