An undergraduate of the Yaba College of Technology, Emmanuel Kolade, has reportedly gone missing.

PUNCH Metro learnt that Emmanuel, who is studying Computer Engineering at the school, left his parents’ home on Awolumate Street, Ajuwon, Ogun State, on November 11.

His whereabouts had remained unknown since then.

Our correspondent was told that the 32-year-old was a part-time student of YABATECH and also worked in Computer Village, Ikeja, where he repaired phones for a fee.
His father, Mr. Adeniyi Kolade, explained that his fifth child left for his workplace on the day, adding that he did not return home.

He said, “On November 11, he told me that he was going to his workplace in Ikeja, from where he would go to school. When his mother was about travelling that morning, he called her back and gave her N500 to augment her fare.

“However, when it was 7.30pm and we didn’t hear from him, we became worried. This was because he never stayed out late. We called his telephone lines, but they were switched off. We checked at his place of work and his colleagues said he didn’t resume for work that morning. The school also said they did not see him. All our efforts have proved abortive.”

Adeniyi said the matter had been reported at the Ajuwon Police Station, Ogun State, and the Area F Police Command, Lagos State, among other stations.

Our correspondent, however, learnt that the victim had been ill for about three months before he went missing.

His father said he had fully recuperated from a “chronic typhoid,” wondering what could have gone wrong.

His mother, Mrs. Dorcas Kolade, described him as easy-going and gentle.

“If not for some financial constraints, we would have travelled together that morning. I appeal to Nigerians to help me find him. We have been hearing tales that he was spotted at some places, but we can’t find him,” she added.

His sister, Funmilola Oshunnuga, said the family had become desperate to get Emmanuel back home.

The Ogun State Public Relations 0fficer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said he would get back to our correspondent on the incident, but had yet to do so as of press time.

According to a Facebook user who posted the photos above, the beautiful female undergraduate student of Dental Therapy Department in Ogun State College of Health Technology was on the 6th of December crushed to death by the Nigerian Consolidated Breweries truck loaded with alcoholic drinks as she was coming back from the bank after withdrawing money for her project and feeding.
It was learnt that the company’s official called the attention of soldiers of Illese Barracks immediately the accident happened and they swung into action and shot severally to scare students that gathered at the accident scene from taking drastic decisions. Unfortunately, some of the female students were injured on the process. They also alleged soldiers invaded their campus and still sot at students. May her soul rest in peace….

The British High Commission through the organization’s Spokesperson, Joe Abuku said on Friday in a statement that the UK Embassy in Nigeria has adopted a new visa application process with a slight change where only electronic versions of support documents are required.

With the new process taking full effect as from December 5, 2016, customers applying for a UK visa in Lagos, Victoria Island and Ikeja, would bring applicants benefits from digital improvements to the UK visa application process.

The statement added that: “TLSContact (responsible for UK Visa Application Centres in Nigeria) will scan your supporting documents whilst you’re at the visa application centre, and then return your original documents to you.”

“They will then send these (electronic) documents to UKVI, with your passport and application form, and visa officers will consider your application in the usual way.”

In order to avoid delays in the visa application centre, the Commission requested applicants to ensure they complied with requirement to provide all documents in A4 size, while any other documents smaller or larger than A4 should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper.

While advising all customers to remove any clips or pins from documents before submitting their application, the Commission warned that any torn, crumpled or heavily creased documents, which is difficult to photocopy, should be photocopied onto A4 sized paper before submitted, as they can’t be scanned in this condition.

Well, a photo making the rounds on social media showing a supposedly weird occurrence inside a night club, has caused a stir on social media as a man was seen with his head.

In the photo, a young lady is seen standing inside what is clearly a nightclub as she poses for the camera. However, the woman is not what has gotten people talking but the man standing behind her. At first glance it would see like there is nothing wrong with him but on a closer look, one can clearly see that his head is not visible on his shoulders. The lady in the picture reportedly went to the club and took pictures without bothering to check them.

An eleven years old primary 5 girl, Mamie Sam of Roman Catholic Primary School, Segbwema town, Jaluahun Chiefdom Kaiahun district is currently calling on government and other humanitarian organizations to immediately come to her aid as she is not at peace at the moment.
She currently resides with both of her grand parents Saidu Moriba and Mamie Sellu at 9 Poimie road, Lago square section Sebwema town.
Speaking to Awoko at her residence she explained that some time last year she went on a fishing expedition together with her grand mother and other women in the town.
After the exercise she started experiencing her breast becoming large. While taking bath together with the elders in the stream one of the women spoke about her breast saying her breast is becoming abnormal and it is not a good thing for her. It's a pity....Continue for more…..

During the night hour she said her breast scratched throughout the night giving her sleepless night and it’s kept projecting up to the current length as she continue to scratch. The following morning when she went to school her class and school mates were provoking her and there after she stopped going to school almost a year now.
She started her schooling at the Ansarul Primary School from classes 1 to 3 and then continued to Roman Catholic Primary School from classes 4 to 5. She maintained that her parents have sought medical attention at Nixon Memorial hospital at Segbwema and several herbalists within the community but no improvement.
Her grand father Saidu Moriba said this is the first time he is seeing such wonder in his life time, and that they are baffled as what to do to save her from this trouble. He revealed that several prayers and sacrifices have been done on her behalf but the problem still remains and they are asking for assistance.

Authorities at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, have confirmed the death of a final year student who reportedly
committed suicide. A final year student of agricultural engineering at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, who is also reported to be a participant of the Mavrodi Mondial Movement investment scheme (MMM), has committed suicide.
According to reports, the deceased, identified as Tobechukwu Okeke was found on Sunday morning, November 27, dangling from a rope in his room at Odenigwe, a community in Nsukka, Enugu state.
The deceased was said to have left a note behind where he apologised to his family, according to accounts by a

He wrote: “Mother, Father, brother, I’m sorry. Ify, may your children never suffer. Uncle Mathias, you gave me all. I am sorry. Death calls. Linguistic department, I am sorry. Okeke Tobechukwu S. 2012/185649,” the neighbour, who did not want to be named, quoted. Though the cause of Mr. Okeke’s death is yet to be ascertained, some of his neighbours suggested that he was in debt, some said he was tired of schooling, others attributed his suicide to the loss of money in a network business he invested into.
The deceased’s last Facebook posts showed he had been involved in the controversial MMM scheme as he used his
account to advertise the scheme.
His last post, in September, read: “MMM is enriching lives of millions of Nigerians everyday. If you care to join or you
have any questions please send me a message or comment below.”
One of the deceased’s colleagues, who also did not want to be named, said he was given an electrical wiring job to do at the department of linguistics in the university, because of his expertise in electrical works. “I saw him this (Sunday) morning, he seemed to have a problem which he needed money to solve,” the colleague added.
The university authorities have also confirmed the incident, but said the family had not officially informed the institution. Uju Umo, the university’s dean of student affairs said: “I travelled for a burial last weekend and yesterday I got a text message saying a student had committed suicide.” “It happened at Odenigwe, one of the host communities outside the school and I was told he left a suicide note apologising to his fellow gamblers.”
Similarly, Chukwu Emmanuel, the university’s student union president, also confirmed the incident, and said the matter was being investigated.
“There’s no concrete details for now,” he added. People close to the deceased described him as a comedian
who always used jokes to awake sleeping students during night classes.
“He used to go around to classes at night to crack jokes and encourage students to forget their worries and focus,”

Let me start this piece by narrating a story I read somewhere about a certain three- year old boy whose father was the President of their country. Let’s call this boy John. One day the country was celebrating an important anniversary. Many citizens lined up the route through which the President was being driven in an open jeep, at an incredibly low speed.

They were waving their country’s flag in the spirit of that celebration while the President acknowledged with the waving of his right hand. John and his mother were among the crowd. His mother had carried him on her arms and managed to position herself at the front row of the crowd.

As the President’s convoy came to the part of the crowd where John and his mother stood, with both waving their flags enthusiastically like the other citizens, John expected his father to come down from the vehicle and hug him or throw him up into the air a few times as he would normally do at home. But the President just waved perfunctorily to their side of the crowd as he did to others, without displaying any emotion, while the open jeep in which he stood continued its sluggish motion. John was visibly upset…..

“Dad it is me. Stop!” he began to scream, as the President’s car continued to move farther away from where they stood. John became angrier. “You are no longer my friend from today. Please don’t come to play with me anymore”, he said in anger. An elderly woman standing next to John and his mother scolded him for his apparent lack of respect.

“Shhhh”, said the woman, putting her index finger across her lips. “You have to learn to show respect. You are talking to the President of this country”, she admonished.

“I don’t care”, John retorted. “He may be your President but he is my dad”, he said.

According to reports, the Nigerian Senate has launched an investigation into an alleged money laundering by one of the Telecommunication giants, MTN

The Chairman of Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance and Other Financial Institutions, Senator Rafiu Ibrahim, made the disclosure on Wednesday in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Senator Ibrahim said the committee had engaged the services of foreign and local forensic experts to investigate the alleged $13.9 billion scam by MTN.

Speaking to reporters, he said, that the committee had also invited the management of the MTN and other stakeholders.

The other stakeholders invited are Central Bank of Nigeria, Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria and the Minister of Trade and Investment, Mr Okechukwu Elenemah‎.

The probe follows the directive by the Upper House to investigate the alleged illegal transfer of the said sum by MTN in connivance with some Nigerians.

The transaction was purportedly facilitated by four commercial banks in Nigeria.

In fulfillment of promised made last week when he visited Nigeria, the world most populous black nation, the social media giant, facebook founder, Mr. Mark Zuckerberge has added and Igbo and Yoruba languages to Facebook language options

Until now, it has been only Hausa Language included in Facebook Language options.

During his visit to Nigeria, Zuckerger said social media application currently allowed the use of Hausa language on Facebook.
He said: “I am glad we support Hausa and we are planning on supporting a lot more languages soon.”
Zuckerberg also expressed his willingness to work with local content providers in bringing Nigerian communities to the internet.
He said having local contents on the Facebook platform would ensure that more people were connected.

According to him, in the next 10 to 15 years, Facebook hopes to get everyone in the world connected online.

Checked this morning discovered Yoruba Language has also been added.
Yoruba language option on facebook has partially become functional, but Igbo yet to be. probably both are still on developmental stages.
But so far, so good, its a good omen for our local languages.

Following the spirit of celebration, the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) on Thursday said that there would be a free train service from Lagos to Osogbo on Saturday and Sunday for indigenes of Osun State.

Mr Jerry Oche, Railway District Manager, Lagos State, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the service was sponsored by Gov. Rauf Aregbesola.

“Osun State free train ride will be for Saturday and Sunday. On each day, a train comprising 10 coaches will convey passengers to Osogbo...“But because there may be influx of passengers, the corporation is putting on another train as it did last year.

“We hope to give better service as we encourage other state governments to emulate this,’’ Oche said.

The NRC boss, who urged commuters to keep to time, said that the 10-coach train would depart Iddo Station by 11 am.

He said that the corporation had concluded arrangements to provide a smooth ride for the commuters.

NAN reports that the free service is to encourage indigent people to come home for the celebration of the 2016 Eid-el-Kabir on Monday.

The governor has been providing free train services annually for all indigenes of the state during festive seasons.

Well, Freeze took our mind back to the early days of the Mende, Sierra Leone women and that of the Opobo lady that was stopped from entering Immigration due to the length of her dress. [b]To the right, is the lady who was allegedly denied entrance into the Nigerian Immigration service, Abuja. While to the left, above is a young Nigerian woman from Opobo in the early nineteenth century, dressed in her traditional attire, while to the left below, are ladies from Mende in Sierra Leone, showcasing their intricate hairstyles and attire! If either the Mende women or the Lady from Opobo showed up at an office today, I’m sure they would be denied entry, yet their atti…re is beautifully unique in the traditional African sense.
So why are we so backward in this country? Little wonder we are so mentally and financially impoverished! Is this lady’s attire our priority now? Airlines are folding up, banks are laying off and slashing salaries, food prices are at an all time high, and I bought dollars last week at N425 to a dollar, yet people are still carrying other people’s attire on their head!
My dear lady, you rock!! don’t let anyone put you down, stand up for what you believe in, and no one, I mean no one, would be able to define or enslave you, after all, the white people that brought us clothes, from their western world to ‘clothe’ us, are now more or less naked themselves! ~FRZ

According to a social media user who is also a member of Christ Embassy, Ada Hope, who took to her Facebook handle to register her anger over the way and manner the two pastors separation were celebrated online and now that they are reconciled, nobody cared to talk about it.
