Health / Re: The Doctors Want To Amputate My Mum's Leg. Advice Needed by Kafinlemo: 11:03pm On Nov 05, 2021
Spark2:
Hello NL.
I'm going to keep this brief.

It started three weeks ago. my mum, who was walking normal with no problem suddenly could not walk. Her left leg began paining her severely that day. My mum was all in tears... She was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that her sugar level was on the high side. The hospital gave drugs which stabilised it, at that point my mum was very weak, couldn't eat, each time she eat she throws up and also had some pain in the leg still. After a week in the hospital, we were then referred to a teaching hospital after a test showed that creatinine in her kidney was high.

The teaching hospital tried their best and I can say my mum is now okay. Except for the left leg. She can't still walk on it, the leg feels cold to touch with a little discolouration above the foot.

Doppler test showed that blood isn't really flowing through the leg. And they said they will need to amputate the leg to prevent the infection from growing to the other parts of the body.

Please I want to know if you know anyone who had similar condition and amputation was recommended but was later healed without need for amputation.

Please share your recommendations. I need my mum now more than before in my life. We are confused on whether to allow them to go on with the amputation or seek other alternatives.

Thank you very much.

Pls note that as at now, her sugar level, creatinine and other things are normal.

nephropathy, retinopathy and neuropathy are common complications from diabetes. possibly your mum is having the third one, peripheral neuropathy which can lead to paralysis of her leg. though I am not a doctor but, the amputation is better since neurons hardly regenerate (after damage)

This is not a typical Nigerian Doctor. imagine someone had his medical degree at Romania and may be Born and raised not in Nigeria but you are addressing him as Nigerian doctor. media is full of hoaxes but, we beliefs in our doctors and they can excel in any part of this world.

Hi guys! Hope you're doing great. Please, after I admitted in Nigerian university, (a year two student) can I change my state of origin in both jamb and school? I am about to get an offer in the other state so, I decided to change the state I used earlier for uniformity. Please, is that possible? Your response is needed.

[quote author=dimexy247 post=97254627]Honestly, this administration lack vision. I don't understand the cries about NIN and integrating phone numbers with it?

What's the importance of BVN?

What about those that has registered since forever and don't even have the number used to register anymore?

What about folks that are no more in the country?

What's the essence really?

Who advises that foolish impersonator?

Anything to maltreat, victimize and punish the citizens seems to be the mission of this failed government.

[Misplaced priorities everywhere/quote]

That's how people like you will continue to be. Always accusing government with your baseless and clueless posts/comments

Justice has been served.
These IPOB people are some of the most ignorant and gullible set of humans on this earth.
The worst is that they would never agree that they don't know.
How could you go about embarrassing and attacking the very few people who could speak up for you in times of trouble?
What sort of unthinking people are these? Is that how others got their own nations? See the way they are vilifying David Umahi for joining APC yet, this same Dave Umahi is about the only southeastern governor who has done something tangible. If tomorrow now,he misses out on his ambition at federal level due to IPOB's pull-him- down tendency, the same IPOB will start screaming that no Igbo man has a serious position in the government.
I just tire for these people, abeg.

Well said, Hope they'll understand.

Nasreports77:
NANS MOBILIZES STUDENTS ON NATIONWIDE PROTEST AS IT MARKS INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS DAY WITH REGRETS

DECRIES THE ABDUCTION OF 17 ABU ZARIA STUDENTS BY BANDITS AND REJECTS THE INCREASE IN PRICE OF PMS (FUEL)

By Ikpontu G.N

The National Association of Nigeria Students(NANS) has expressed the undeserved unhappiness of Nigerian Students as it joins the world to mark the 2020 International Student's Day. The National body of Students under the leadership of Comrade Chidi Ilogebe has challenged ASUU and FG to immediately respond to the undying requirements of Nigerian Students in several areas of critical concerns, as it commence mobilisation of students for a nationwide protest, scheduled for 24th November 2020. This was stated in a press release signed by the President of NANS, Comrade Chidi Ilogebe, GCNS, few hours ago.

In the statement, Comrade Chidi Ilogebe charged all Student structures across the nation, including SUG, JCC, Zonal leaderships, all affiliate/sister unions NAUS, NAPS, NANCES and ANFS to immediately commence mobilisation of Students ahead of the nationwide protest. According to the statement, the protest is aimed at challenging the federal government and ASUU on the devastating situations faced by Nigerian Students, with emphasis on welfarism and security.

The statement further noted that, the celebration of 2020 International Student's Day in Nigeria was a moment to reflect on the past and present, with considerable efforts to proffer possible solutions towards improving the educational system of the Country. He stated that the intended joyous mode had been interrupted by the same system that ought to put smiles on the faces of students before, during and after this historic day.

The statement therefore recalled the regretful abduction of students of Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, along Kaduna-Abuja Express way few days ago, as it calls on Federal Government to prioritize improvement in the welfare and security of Nigerians, especially around towns or cities where academic campuses are situated. Comrade Ilogebe had also in the press statement condemned and rejected the recent increase in the pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS) and electricity tariff, stressing that it was a deliberate act to provoke citizens.

The National Association of Nigeria Students further called on the immediate and irrevocable opening of university Campuses, as it presents a reminder to FG and ASUU on the 14days ultimatum, which will elapse on 23rd November 2020. NANS however seeked the steadfastness, commitment and support of relevant stakeholders, security agencies and members of the association ahead of the forthcoming NANS election, holding from 26th to 30th of November 2020. Comrade Chidi Ilogebe therefore concluded his statements on the 2020 International Student's Day by reiterating the commitment of NANS in the resolute emancipation of student's welfarism.
