At Onitsha, I Called for special attention concerning infrastructure in the ancient city.

“There is no other better time to prioritise Onitsha Urban renewal than now. If nothing is done urgently, we will have a city that will be impossible for anyone to move around.

As governor, we are going to drive integrated Urban renewal that will end the increasing crime rate in Onitsha. The menace of touts is already threatening businesses in and around Onitsha and our state economy is the worse for it.

"Accordingly, there will also be a new policy regime on revenue collection that won't be a threat to Our people, but instead help to boost the state's economy."

Former National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Uche Secondus, says he has no intention of withdrawing the case challenging his removal from court.

Mr Ike Abonyi, his Media Adviser disclosed this in a statement in Abuja.

Abonyi said that Secondus was in court to seek justice as well as save the party from manipulations.

“The attention of the media office of Secondus has been drawn to an unsubstantiated report claiming that he is under pressure to withdraw his case against the party from court.

“The truth which the said news did not state is that Secondus is not in court against the party, but was dragged to court by persons bent on hijacking the soul of the party.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the media office wishes to restate that Secondus is really under pressure for justice and will seek it anywhere to save the party from destruction,” he said.

Abonyi said that the party leaders were aware of the situation and knew what to do to rectify the problem.

“Nothing short of justice will save PDP from the current situation.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the justice Secondus is seeking is as enshrined in the party’s constitution which is supreme.

“The constitution states clearly how a national chairman and any national officer can be sanctioned even where there is a known breach, talk less of where there is none,” he said.

The PDP is doing everything to remove APC.

APC want the PDP party presidential ticket to be zone to the south so that they can easily rig in a Yoruba to power

But if PDP zone it to The North APC will be very confused.
They will be confused because if they zone it back to the north after buhari 8 years it will be a big slap on the Afojas that push them to power.
And zoning to the south for south west to grab will have an herculean task for APC to defeat a northern candidate of PDP

So if you see any person gossiping about PDP zoning president to the north just know that that person is from the south west.

They see north retaining power as unfair and want it zone to the south but when is zone to the south they want it to be them.

Like it or hate it...come 2023 it will be a Northern candidate VS South west Candidates.

The South East should be patient,it is better to work with an outsider than a brother who is evil and don't want a common good.

After running Edo State for about a year without a cabinet, Governor Godwin Obaseki has hinted that he would unveil his commissioners in “a couple of days.”

He attributed the delay in the formation of his cabinet to his defection from the All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party shortly before the last Edo state governorship election, which he won.

Obaseki, represented by his Chief of Staff, Osaigbovo Iyoha, spoke after being conferred with the award of ‘Politician of the Year,’ during the Leadership Newspapers Conference and Awards ceremony held at the International Conference Centre in Abuja on Saturday.

The event was with the theme, “National and regional insecurity: The role of political and non-political actors in stabilisation and consensus building.”

He said, “Ours has been a build-up to an uncommon election. The issue of being in the APC before we moved to the PDP are well documented and don’t need further explanation. But in the next couple of days, the cabinet will be announced.

“The only way we can repay for all the votes we got in the last election is to perform better than we did in the first tenure. For us, it is the sign of recognition of good governance and delivery of dividends of democracy to the people because the people are at the centre of everything and we appreciate the LEADERSHIP Group.

“Five years ago if anyone had predicted that Governor Godwin Obaseki would win an award for being Politician of the Year, I think nobody would believe it and we give thanks to God Almighty.

“And the people of Edo State thank the Leadership Group for this honour, we appreciate it. And for Godwin Obaseki, he’s driven by the new lessons of governance, which is service to the people and the only way that he can say thank you for this award is by doing more for the people of the state.”
