Travel / Re: *** General Irish VISIT/TOURIST VISA Enquiries *** by kakamsi: 12:33pm On Jun 06, 2017
Good day guys, please i just stumble upon this write up in google. i want to study in Ireland in Dublin Institute of technology [DIT] pre-master in computing and afterwards Msc. in computing. i have children and i intend to go with them but after reading this, it got me worried on how to go about it. please has anyone been in similar situation before? how do i go about this, your contribution is highly appreciated.

International students with children / family reunification

Can I bring my husband / wife / civil partner / children to Ireland while I study?

In general, non-EEA students have no rights to family reunification. Some exceptions to this policy are outlined below.

Partners/spouses and children will have to make their own visa applications as they cannot advance their application for permission to enter or reside in Ireland on the basis of their relationship to a registered non-EEA student.

Students will not be allowed to be joined by children except those born during their stay.

What are the exceptions to the policies outlined above?

The Irish Naturalisation and Immigration Authority (INIS) may consider exemptions from the policy of no Family Reunification where:

The student is pursuing PhD studies (Level 10 on the National Framework of Qualifications) and will be required to complete their doctorate within 4 years; or
The student is a participant in an academic programme agreed between the Irish State and another State whereby the student and dependents are sufficiently funded for all expenses in Ireland; or
The student can demonstrate that they have sufficient funds on a yearly basis to support themselves and their family without engaging in employment and without recourse to public funds, e.g. by enrolling a child in a private, fee-paying school. (Plans for an immigration levy to recover the costs of publicly-funded education if children are accompanying a parent have been proposed. However, these are yet to be introduced); or
The child is on a short visit to their parent(s) who can prove that the child will return to their home county at the end of their visit.
For further details, see Section G of the INIS guide New Immigration Regime for Full Time Non-EEA Students

The Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB) has advised that student parents accompanied by children (of whatever age) not authorised to enter Ireland will be stopped at the port of entry in Ireland and refused permission to land.

How does this relate to immigration registration?

First time students from outside the EEA presenting for registration with the GNIB are asked to confirm that they are neither accompanied by children nor do they intend to have their children join them later on - unless covered by specific arrangements as indicated above.

If I have a child in Ireland during my studies, what will be his/her status?

Children born in Ireland are not automatically entitled to Irish citizenship unless they have an Irish or British parent. In all other cases, entitlement to citizenship is based on proving a firm link to Ireland through a parent being legally resident for at least 3 of the 4 years prior to the birth and documented as such by the Garda National Immigration Bureau (GNIB). » More

Hello gurus in the house, thanks for your sacrifice and priceless contributions on this forum.
Please my wife will be traveling with our 3 children for a 2 year diploma program. The oldest of my children is 6 but the challenge here is that the school fees for early and primary years is as high as the diploma program in Ontario. I just googled it and it's as high as CAD14,000. Please can smbdy help me with any info on affordable schools for international children. Thanks a lot
jj

Sir u have to research very well because I know that if u hold a valid study permit your children from 4 years old and above does not pay school fees in a public nursery,
primary and secondary school level. But from 4 years down u have to look for daycare which is expensive but she can manage it if she won't be working .

My sentiments exactly... Obviously the guy has admitted he was unserious.... So why the bashing. We are all here to assist each other. If you can't render any assistance.... Move along....no need to start throwing shades. Very immatured. We all make mistakes no need to make the guy feel more terrible than he already is. At the end of the day he ended up not answering the guy's queries.

Thank u for saying this, I really agree with u. Sometimes in life we all make mistakes that effect our life in one way or the other, but the ability to realize our mistakes, accept it and be read to make an amend is what really matters.

My dear I will answer to the best of my knowledge. There are 2 options, 1: Go the place where you did u medical before they will give u a copy of you medical report add it to the documents u are submitting to the embassy, it will serve as upfront medical. 2: Just go and submit your application, when dey call you for medical again you go back to the clinic and ask them to forward a copy of u med to cic.

I applied on the 27th of June with Upfront medicals tho I was as sacred AF.

It took 7weeks and three days. I'll update the house when I'm relaxed cuz im just trembling with tears of Joy directed to God for his mercy in my life. To all TRV hopefuls, the best is yet to come.

This was my first application.

Thank Jehovah

Here is to both share my testimony and also encourage someone that's indecisive.
Like I've stated somewhere on earlier on the thread, I wrote my IELTS on the 4th of June with the following result
L 8.5
R 8.5
W 6
S 7
I went for the result on the 20th of June & I didn't even bother to take it out refusing, rejecting and submitting for EOR, Long story short, 7weeks on, today I got my reply with the following result
L 8.5
R 8.5
W 8
S 7. My speaking was not increased but I forgive them TWO (2) whole band review on my writing.
So here's my big thanks to all those that shared link for IELTS prep way back. iphie28 (sorry if I miss the figure) et all, now I can boldly say THANK YOU & GOD BLESS YOU

Pls can you share the website where u studied before you wrote you IELTS.

You don't have to create 2 profiles. Since you stated that you will have higher CRS score with your wife as PA, then you should create a profile with your wife as the PA.

However, if your NOC is highly desirable in some provinces and you stand a better chance of getting PNP, you can create a second profile with you as the PA.

You can't state you are single when you are married. That is misrepresentation. Also, if both of you will be travelling together, you can state your spouse is non accompanying.

Can i create or apply for EE without presenting my spouse IELTS and his ECA. Because my spouse has only secondary school diploma and he says he can't write IELTS. Pls has anyone being in d same shoes with me

Processing time for Visiting visa is about a month so i dont even want to applying it alongside the SOWP so it wont delay her coming to join me. Shes 8yrs. Hubby's sowp can be done later.
Is possible to apply for her alone without you hubby applying along side her own for his SOWP

NonelikeGod:
God breaks protocol
God reorders existing systems
God can turn back & hold the hands of time
God can turn around mess ups into set ups for step ups

I testified last week that I had received my passport request. However, I realised after I had submitted my passport to VFS that I was supposed to upload a scanned copy of my renewed passport through my CIC account and not to actually submit the hard copy yet (my passport had less than 3months before expiration).
As soon as I realised this, I uploaded a letter of explanation for my misconception and apologising for my wrong mode of submission. As God would have it, I received my approval mail. I kept declaring the promises of God over my life & pleading the blood of Jesus over my renewed passport bearing my new martial last name (after CIC asked me to renew my passport, I used the opportunity to change my surname. So I submitted the passport along with all the required change of name documents.

I asked God to use this incident as an opportunity to fast track my application and restore unto me the time I spent doing medicals. The period of doing medical a was a further revelation of God’s deep love for me. It turned out that I had a certain heart condition which I had no idea about; so I was referred by the hospital to go for a series of tests...I was exhausted, drained, burned and sapped emotionally and financially during this period. But Glory be to God I passed my medicals despite all the gra gra of the hospital. My God has the final say .

I received a ‘passport request’ from CIC on Friday and thanked God anyway, even though I prayed that they should stamp my passport before sending it back to me instead of us going back and forth..Fast forward to today, I picked up my passport with the intention of resubmitting it to them along with the passport request letter. Brethren, as I type this, I have my visa already stamped in my PASSPORT....who can do this if not God? The Jehovah Over do, the God whom the mountains saw and fled. I give him all the glory. I received my visa ahead of schedule hahahaha Jehova pass me oooh. I haven’t received my approval mails but I have my visa. JESUS THANK YOU. RECEIVE MY PRAISE....even the VFS people were surprised hahaha. My God has a laughter like THUNDER.

Renewing my international passport wasn’t so easy either. After paying 30k for 64 pages, I expected sharp sharp service. However I went there 3 times before I could get my passport. In fact it was the delay in getting the passport that made not remember to make a copy of the new passport for my personal records because I went straight from immigration to VFS. If I had made a copy I would have scanned and uploaded through my CIC after realising my mistake....but God had other plans; plans to fast track my visa approval. He didn’t want me to wait for passport request before getting my visa; God did upfront passport request/submission for me.

Gaining admission wasn't so easy. I applied to only one school....1 week after the deadline. How God gave me that admission still surprises me to this day.
I give God the glory. He was with me from start till finish. This whole process could have gone wrong because of my numerous inefficiencies, insufficiencies and inadequacies. The Blood of Jesus totally removed every requirement needed of me. Who can bring a Charge against me? It is God who justifies me. He has released upon me bounds of grace. I leap over mountains, I run over troops, I break barriers, because of this my God. He is so kind and merciful.

To whoever is reading and believing for a break through, trust God. Feed your faith. During the whole passport request saga, I resolved to stay away from nairaland until I had my testimony complete. To be honest, there's so much despair on this thread sometimes, i didn’t want to remain afraid. Everybody’s case is different, so even if they deny 250 out of 270 PGC/PGD applicant or whatever, never profess negatively about your situation. I forgot I was different, that’s why I hurriedly submitted my passport to VFS without stopping to read carefully the instructions. Anyway God turned that action around for my good and I am beyond grateful.

All things work together for good, to them who love God and walk according to his purpose. All in All, God’s mercy superseded my fears, worries, and messups. The natural order is ‘1+1=2, 5+5=10, if you don’t give CIC what they want = DENIAL”. However by the Blood of Jesus, I am exempted from the natural order and natural results. My case is Different. A thousand shall fall by my side and ten thousands by my left hand side but no harm shall come near me, the Lord is my refuge and my ever present help in times of trouble.

I submitted the normal documents, my husband's company was my sponsor, I have 2 kids (by God’s grace, theyl join me in January, I’m 26 years old, I finished school in 2010 & 2011 (University & Law Sch). Send any questions to my DM, I’l be glad to help. Both present and future applicants are welcome. I'll be off nairaland for some time. Keep the faith, keep the fire burning, there are dimensions of grace, God’s mercy will locate everyone in Jesus name AMEN.
congratulations dear, I keyin into your testimony. I'm next.

Madam I will advice you not to change your name now, is going to complicate things for you now, and you will not want to go through the trouble of changing your name now. The only thing you need to prove that your children are yours is their birth certificate. Just add your marriage certificate, your children's birth certificate and their passport data pages also your husband's passport data that is enough prove.

I need help in my September 2016 application.

I am sponsoring myself. I have being able to put N7m and the school fees is about $14,500k CAD for one year but the partial payment that I am expected to pay is $8,200k CAD (N1.35m). If I pay that partial fee, I will have about N5.6M left in the account. please my dear experts is that enough for me to submit in my SOA?

I am married but my wife will be left in Nigeria while am away in Canada. what is your take on this and what is the best reason to give the embassy?

Another issue is this, I initially got admission in Lambton College for a two years PGD and also got a one year course in DURHAM College for a course that is a Graduate Certificate. I have a 6 years experience in I.T with a bachelors degree. I had to take take the option of the DURHAM College that has a specialize course in I.T(Information Systems Security) for one year. Please is my decision right on this course and college option?

Also do I need to swear affidavit for support or sponsor since I am sponsoring myself?

Is police certificate clearance a must

Please I need someone to break down this answers. I dont want to be referred elsewhere. Please experience Nairanders, help me

Q1, 7m is ok,just print u statement of acc b4 u pay u fee. It takes like 1 week + or - to process u fee with form A,so applying with one week statement of acc is ok.

Q2, is good u r applying without u wife she will serve as home tie.

Q3, is good u went with the program that is related to u 1st degree, it will boost u chances for visa.

Q4, no idea

Q5, it is not a must, I hv seen pple who got their trv on this thread without it. but is also good if u include urs in own application, cos u can never know if is gonna help u.

Hello House,
I have been following this thread on a low key for sometime now... but the worst has just happened lol! I am a student in Canada, and I applied for a visitor's (TRV) visa for my wife and kids, applied online route in March got a rejection notice today.
Reasons:
Travel history
Personal Assets

I attached properties same ones I attached during my own application last year, although they are in my name (land, house), banks statements with good balance and strong inflow and outflow
proof of employment
Business registration certificates

My wife has travelled to the Uk twice in the last 6 years! (she actually came to visit me while I was doing my MSC in the UK)
Don't really know what these guys are looking for! also attached her uk visa showing her trips in and out
I need help in tackling the points they mentioned, as I am planning to reapply!
The woman done cry tire today! lol
I beg house, I need your ideas and inputs on how to counter their points!

Thanks
NB: Keep up the good work! God bless

Let her apply for SOWP instead of visiting visa. My sister told me about her friend who applied for visiting visa 2 times and dey rejected her but when she applied for SOWP she got her visa. SOWP (spousal open work permit)
