ThugCheetah: wonder why you would prefer ai takes the job instead of your fellow Nigerians. Something that wouldn’t even benefit you except you own the said cursor ai. Smh I find it funny that you guys are actually scared that AI will take jobs of devs. The irony in the post is that the fellow should try to build and see for himself how horrible AIs are at building anything. |

See what I was talking about. You could have just shared the links here because it's something people can do themselves but you want them to DM. I can understand if you charge a fee to help people apply but sharing a link that is available for free on the web should not require anyone DMing you. Make I leave here sha before dem tag me tribalist again. |

CodeTemplar: My sughestion is not a silution to bad or poor or terrible governance. It is for folks looking to give things out and want to avoid too many people showing up at once. A simple thread in Nairaland saying the first 1000 commenters to signify their interest in a giveaway event will get the chance to come in 100 at a time to get their packages is very similar to what i just suggested. Their password can be sent to them via DM and they can use the account as proof of who they are. Thats all i am suggesting and not about governance. This would only work if you would send them the packages or if the address doesn't leak. As long as people know the address, it would get crowded and stampede would most likely occur because things are very expensive and most are bearly getting by. My point is, it's not everything code can solve. |

People glorify polygamy because it suits men but do you know why a lot of men in this new age wouldn't touch it?
It's not worth the stress. Even many Muslims are monogamous to the core. |

tensazangetsu20: I won’t lie — I get really sad whenever I remember Africa, especially Nigeria. Chile is regarded as a developing country, and while I’ve lived here for 16 months, I don’t see anything “developing” about Chile. I mean, you’d go to a conference, and when they ask developing nations to stand up, Nigeria, other African countries, and Chile would all rise together. That comparison makes zero sense to me.
I lived in Lagos, Nigeria’s biggest metropolitan city, and until I left, we never had running water. We always had to pump water from a borehole, and even then, the water wasn’t drinkable. We had to buy sachets of pure water every single week. There was no waste management system, so whenever our waste bin got full, we had to wake up at 6 a.m. to find an aboki (waste collector) to come and carry the trash. This was in 2024, in the largest and most modern city in Nigeria.
If life in Lagos is like that, I can’t even begin to imagine how life is in the smaller towns and villages across Nigeria. The disparity becomes even starker when I compare it to Chile. I briefly went out with a Chilean girl who invited me to visit her village, and to my surprise, her village had piped running water in every home, stable electricity, and a waste management system. A village!
Back home, we haven’t even solved the most basic issues in many African countries — how can we begin to tackle larger problems like growing the economy or creating jobs? Anytime I think about Africa, I feel a deep sadness. It’s frustrating to see how far behind we are, even on the fundamentals that make life livable. The black man has failed!!!! All these talks no consign them. Na how to vote Tinubu in 2027 dey some people mind. |

RonuMiscreant: For someone focused on backend what advice do have There are lots of terminologies in backend they might scare you but when you understand that the most important thing in backend is 'problem solving' , then you'd see it's not as hard as it seem. Think of backend as word problem we did in secondary school but rather than converting words to mathematics, you are converting them to code. Imagine you have to share N100k between 5 people. How would they receive it? they all probably need an account. Database. How would they access the funds in the database? Authentication. How would others not get into those accounts? Authorizations. How would you share the money? APIs. Pick a language, learn it, learn SQL too. Understand how to create tables, do joins, foreign, primary and owner keys etc. Then learn the most popular framework of that language. Framework will speed up your knowledge and productivity, they also make you very employable. Knowing backend takes times. But one way to cut corners that I recommend is to do leetcode easy problems. See all those if/else logics that may mesmerize others, you'd write those on a fly. Lastly, read books. You may not even understand the content at first but don't give up, just keep at it. It will make sense in the future. |

MVLOX: Unfortunately you are not even been harsh here.... You are just been judgemental and unreasonable.... It's sad because there people out there that look at you and think you have the capacity to really comprehend and think well. Sadly it is non existent in you. Try to read and understand, not read to reply. It is clear to the blind and audible to the deaf that I made a statement that indicated that we were already on a family planning arrangement (or like I wrote it, Family planning had other plans for us). But for reasons best know to you, you didn't see that part and will just go head and pass judgement. Humans and their many short falls.
Imagine someone asking if Nigeria was better under Buhari? Only that statement alone tell me how dumb and myopic you are. I don't even need to respond to you again.... It's a total waste of time Dem suppose wipe you oraimo chord for neck. Family planning had other plans yen yen yen. You think say na illiterate you dey follow talk? Family planning is one of the most effective things in medicine. How you wan even get implant on your about 100k salary? I'm sure it's withdrawal method you call family planning. How were you even catering for two kids on such salary? Yet you still had to born born again. Even God is not happy at you for depriving those kids of a good life. |
