TrackerSK: Mumu people, the herdsmen are slaughtering your people and also raping your women. You guys can't deal with them, but you are trying to call out the naval staff chief.wetin consign Benue with oil?
Which region of the country is not suffering from insecurity? Where in that article was Benue mentioned. You have been divided and conquered Oh the masses of Nigeria
PinkNature: Kindly desist from giving biased analysis. If you've watched super Eagle's games in this AFCON, then you'll understand that Iwobi isn't as creative as you're trying to paint him to be.
I however, applaud his press, whenever the ball is lost.
That is due to the tactical set up of the team. A back five that bypasses the midfield and launches the ball straight to the front is not playing to Iwobi's strength and maybe that's a good thing because this is tournament football. Remember the coach is a disciple of Jose Mourinho and he plays as such
Faiththatworks: My brother or sister,I think we must come to a middle point. We must admit there's a crisis going on between the herder and the farmers. Your example of the fisher man is very apt,and I like it,in the case of the fisherman, the ocean is given to him for free for his fishing. Imagine the day government decides to collect taxes from the fisherman or woman before they sail to catch their fishes, what do you think will happen. The herder believes The land he grazes upon is free land all over Nigeria, this was permissible when the population of Nigeria was less than 50 million but now we are more than 200 million and the free land the herder is used to has been populated. The herder can't afford to buy land all over Nigeria to graze his cows because it's just too expensive, that's why government must intervene to protect the herder and the farmer. We must get to a middle point and look for a solution unless we continue to pretend it will go away. God bless Nigeria....
You've tried to be objective in your analysis but some salient points need to be raised the land is not the ocean people don't inhabit oceans and I bet you fishermen pay taxes before taking their trawlers out to fish
The fisherman that wants to raise fish inland buy lands and build ponds for their business.
Now the problem with these herders is that they do not want to look at cattle rearing as a business, they believe it's some sort of cultural heritage that has been passed down from their forefathers whereas the farmer has to go through the pains of acquiring land and paying taxes on that land to grow their crops. Remember also farming is cultural heritage for some ethnic groups for generations.
You raised a point about cattle rustling earlier and I am of the opinion ( I may be wrong) that cattle rustling is carried out by fellow herders because no ordinary man without the right skills can rustle a herd of cattle successfully.
As soon as the herders are ready to drop their imperialistic tendencies and embrace the various schemes set up by the national and some state governments to help them out in their 'business' we can have some measure of peace going forward and the entire agricultural sector will be better for it
Angelfrost: Is the FCT Minister directly in charge of DSS, Police, and the Military??!
Let's start from there.
Does the FCT as well as other states have direct autonomy of Security infrastructure??!
If it offends me when people hang all the blames on Emefiele while excusing Buhari for the economic woes of Nigeria, wouldn't it be hypocritical to feel the exact opposite in this case?!!
You can hate Wike all you want... I despise the man too... However, leaving the entire blame for what's currently going on in Abuja at his feet makes no sense at all.
There's non kinetic measures to ensuring security without the use of force ( DSS, Police, & the military) Wike shouldn't shoulder the entire blame but Deji's point here like it or not is that the minister escalated the security situation with his indiscriminate demolition of homes of the poor and downtrodden without adequate compensation and resettlement. I actually heard one of the displaced persons call into a radio program this morning and it was disheartening to hear. So I think Mr Deji has a point here. Abuja should be able to accommodate the rich as well as the poor adequately if not it becomes a dog eat dog situation which is what is playing out
Europe and America have manufactured a lot of weapons and they are looking for where to sell them.
But then again he still has a valid point if the bandits know we have same weapons they would caution themselves
Nobody stops Africa from manufacturing their own firearms for themselves. In fact you'd be shocked the number of firearm manufacturers we have in this country. It's been alleged that some of these iron condemned merchants sell their iron to firearm manufacturers
Kingosytex: Legalizing guns would by no means level the playing field. It's a case of solving a problem by creating another problem; in fact, I don't even think it will solve the problem. It's more of a case of creating another problem in an attempt to solve an existing one. Just like the case of Nigeria who in search of a solution to their problem found a bigger problem (Buhari)
For the rural dwellers (farmers) that are being butchered nonstop it will give them a chance to fight back. There's a topic on front page now about legalising guns from a senator. I strongly believe it's something we need to look into
omooba969: Let's be careful what we wish for o, Nigerians cannot be trusted with firearms o!
Before you know it, guys will start killing bcoz of jealousy and envy. Wives and GFs will start killing their wayward men. Are we ready for the spike in funerals??
Think of the economic hardship in Naija, guys go just dey rob!
Think abourrit, if you don't gerrit, forget abourrit.
People that will rob will rob, killers are killing, jealous wives are murdering with knives, poison and all what not. My position is the playing field should be leveled against terrorists & bandits since the government have failed the citizens
madridguy: “There was a time Osimhen was mentioned in that discussion. He came to me and asked ‘Hakimi or Salah’. I have to say Salah. And the reason why I said Salah was because I played in Egypt, I lived in Egypt and I know some of the guys there.”
This statement weak me too, but that's the typical Nigerian way.. lack of sound judgement

Coming from his own club it's a absolute disgrace, especially after his exploits last season. Just look at the support Manchester United have given to Maguire all these years after a long list of mind buggling blunders in games. Absolute disgrace from Napoli
Shoodboi: You are not addicted to your phone. You are addicted to some apps on your phone. Many people don’t know this but many app developers especially social media companies like Facebook, Tiktok, and Snap hire psychologists to socially engineer users to spend more time on their apps.
They develop their apps to stimulate the release of dopamine (the "feel good" hormone) in your body. Dopamine releases when we do things we enjoy (sex, drugs, video games, and of course, using social media).
They back this with powerful algorithms that observe the content you watched/liked and show you more of that content. That's why if you interact with a content from a person, you keep seeing more content from that person and from people (sometimes strangers) similar to that person.
As part of the social engineering process, these social media sites also use things like infinite scrolling (whereby the apps continues loading as you scroll down) instead of requiring you to click to see the next page to further lock you in.
Instagram also uses things like the "Explore" tab, Tiktok uses the "For you" section while Facebook shows you "People you may know" to keep you in their apps. It's not a coincidence that a small part of the photos of the person in the people you may know section shows every single time. It's a subtle hint to force you to scroll left.
All these lead to things like FOMO (fear of missing out), which forces you to check these apps every now and then so you enjoy the latest content as e dey hot and release more dopamine along the way. After spending hours on these apps, you'd then jump to sites like Nairaland to increase your dopamine and also, help you to burn time, so that others would have uploaded new content to the apps you were using.
The solution is simple but technical. Which apps do you use the most? Take note of them, close one eye, and uninstall them. Switch off notifications too. And whenever you find yourself scrolling endlessly again, remember you don’t want to be a victim of social engineering and get out of the apps.
Well said. I watched a documentary on this called the social dilemma
tribalmall: How much are the state not paying 10% generating ? Is it up to 10% of what Lagos generate ? Do you now see why the 10% is deserving to alpha beta
Tax collection is one of the fundamental responsibilities of the government through the internal revenue service, clearly he used his position as governor to award such huge contract to his company. He doesn't deserve to keep 10% of the entire IGR of the state to himself, thats why he still decides who gets what in Lagos till date, not even incumbent governors can challenge a man in control of such humongous wealth coupled with the fact that his family controls the markets, advertising bill boards and even the motor parks. That's all shades of wrong
An individual through his company is pocketing 10% of all that in the name of collecting revenue on behalf of the state. Why will a state cede tax collection to a company in the first place? I'm pretty sure they have an internal revenue agency.
After being called out by Benue youths for keeping quiet in the face of sustained aggression by herders despite being a chieftaincy holder, he goes out to make this half cocked statement. Also they're no indeginous herders in Benue so clashes cannot be referred to as "communal"
Cashqueenex: Yooooooo! Let me teach you how to close greedy white clients, and Earn in dollars starting today with Instagram!!! I've got Proofs attached too...
Scammers are now openly recruiting and flaunting their trade on Nairaland?
