Rossikk: The problem is you people do not follow developments in Nigeria. You think you know the country but you don't. Nigeria is fourth in global peanut production, after China, India and the United States, even without 'pyramids'.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peanut
http://www.fas.usda.gov/psdonline/psdreport.aspx?hidReportRetrievalName=BVS&hidReportRetrievalID=918&hidReportRetrievalTemplateID=1#ancor
I reckon we probably have more sophisticated methods of storing our grain these days. I don't see China or USA flaunting ''groundnut pyramids'' even though they're the world's biggest producers.
This is the same Nigeria you say agriculture has ''collapsed'', with some peabrain posting market women selling in trays above as representing our groundnut exports. That's the ignorance caused by laziness to research or go out there and see what is really happening, rather than sitting in your beer parlour thinking you know what you really don't know. u made more sense with ur earlier post, u jst derailed cos u were criticized |
Politics › Re: June 12th, Abiola, Susan Rice And A Cup Of Tea - Femi Fani-kayode by katordidi(m): 11:49am On Jun 10, 2013 |
GenBuhari: I have no respect for Abiola.
The guy it seemed wanted to rule Nigeria at all costs.
Rumour has it that he sponsored the coup to overthrow Shagari, because Shagari did not hand over the presidency to him in 1983; that he sponsored the overthrow of Buhari, when he learnt that Buhari was too non-corrupt and would not give him and his newspapers any preferential treatment.
Babangida was meant to hand power to him, but they fell out sometime during June 12th elections and Babangida decided to annul the election, and fearing for his life, Abiola quickly left the country until Babangida was forced by angry public riots to step down and install Ernest Shonekan as an Interim civilian President.
With Babangida in retirement, Abiola returned from exile and urged /sponsored Abacha to overthrow Ernest Shonekan. When Abacha seized power, Abiola met with him and probably agreed a time table for Abacha to handover the presidency to him.
When it became obvious to Abiola that Abacha had no intention of relinquishing power, he became furious and declared himself President and for several weeks went around the country forming his own parallel government.
Not surprisingly Abacha eventually arrested Abiola.
After a few weeks Abacha gave Abiola a chance to be released on bail on condition he does not leave the country, Abiola declined.
Abiola the man who fraternised with the military and sponsored many military coups, was eventually killed by military man Babangida after Abacha was secretly poisoned.
There is a saying that goes: "If you ride on the back of a bear, you may eventually end up in its stomach" there is no iota of common sense in ur story |

babyosisi: I believe Benue,Nassarawa and plateau people are being punished for the violence they visited on Igboland They populated the foot soldiers that killed innocent men and women in their homes Mothers beat their breasts and cried out looking up to heaven That may be why violent death has not ceased from their land since then The Christians there ought to redeem the land by praying and fasting to crush the angel of death that is making them wail as the Biafran mothers wailed and help seems not to be in sight There is a spiritual explanation for what is going on in that region

kalunomics: Look at how they are complaining about like they really do the job they are asking for the payment. I thought they've turned their staff room to markets, they should be able to make money out of it.
Government should instill tough punitive measures, if not dismissal, to teachers whom out-rightly miss schools and skip classes in a bid to fish out the culprits and curb this menace because there are a few who are committed to their job that deserves their salaries.
But wait, what is the reason of the government for owing them? why should they work if they are not paid, man must survive any which way |

Afam4eva: Normally i would support the underdog which is Borrusia Dortmund but i feel for bayern considering the fact that they lost last year's final to another underdog and a tactical beried team who have brought shame to world football. I will be happy with whoever wins since it's going to stay in the Bundesliga. At least the German Bundesliga has taken the second place after the La Liga and following them is the Serie A, French league, Portugese league and the Turkish league. are u crazy right now, what are u basing ur ranking on |

Joyfullyme: My problem with the NGF chairman is that it went beyond stopping Jonathan into trying to make the government fail. He has more interest in the failure of the government than in its success. If he was only gunning for 2015 it would have been okay but he has been trying to ground the government. I believe that is crossing the line. how is he trying to make the government fail. Pls stop raising issues that are not there. Obviously word got to jonathan that amaechi was aspiring to be someone's running mate (lamido or aliyu) and he started trying to wittle down his powers and NGF chairman.. U understand? |
