Politics › Igbos Wouldn't Have Supported Emefiele Or Okorocha by kay1one(op): 2:33pm On Aug 01, 2022 |
This current election is not about ethnicity or religion. Folks think Igbos are supporting Obi because his name is Obi.
I beg to differ.
If incompetent leaders had contested, Igbos wouldn't have supported them.
The Igbos, who are businessmen and importers, have suffered the most under this administration. Imports are expensive because naira has no value. Businesses are suffering because of insecurity and lack of credit facilities.
People just want competence and Obi offers that right now.
Suffer no dey fear face, tribe or religion. |

dat9jaguy: Not that. Every one is free to vote whom they like but know within you that we should not expect any miracle because these people parading themselves as presidential candidates are not the best Nigeria can offer.
Personally I'm sitting this one out. Politics was never meant to save a nation. Only the second coming of Christ and the introduction of the kingdom of God can. In the interim, we should do our civic duty in getting those who are Godly into office to facilitate that. |

Politics › When Are Presidential Debates Starting? by kay1one(op): 10:21am On Jul 30, 2022 |
1. Candidates should be made to stand throughout the hour or more so long debates like done in developed climes.
2. There should be 2-3 debates
3. They should be substance and plan based.
4. The winner (your guess is as good as mine) should rule this nation. Any choice other than that shows we're not ready for development! |

Folks know that if he comes in, it will bring a dramatic and significant end or drop in corruption.
People are not prepared for that. Some live off corruption and if it stops, they can't survive.
They rather hide under the umbrella of religion or ethnicity but the truth remains that many people have become so entrenched in corruption they don't want it go.
Even Jesus was rejected by the Jews cos they knew he was bringing truth that would end the corruption of the Pharisees.
Stand up against corruption today.
John 3:19 And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:20 For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. |

Subsidywise20: Well, I am not backing Obi or any of them, until he has a clear plan. After all that was the message they used to bring us Buhari...based on what he did in the past not what he was going to do now. And we have seen the result (Did not vote for Buhari in 2015 or 19 because Nigeria of today is not Nigeria of 1984.)
All I hear about Obi, Tinubu and co is 'they built things' They invested stuff' . Well, what is their answer to today;s problems? (Silence).
I want an idea of what they would do now, not 'what they can do now because what they did in past'. Plus even then, Lagos and Anambra are still very poor states with a lot of underdevelopment after Obi, and Tinubu (Kano and Adamawa the same...for Kwankwaso and Atiku).
As for decision...I may end up voting for one of the parties that is not PDP, LP, APC, or NNDP. (Not for Sowore...I think he is a Tinubu patsy low key). Time is still there. You are free to laff at me. I don't care. You asked for it: |

Subsidywise20: Well, I don't back Peter Obi for the same reason I don't back Atiku, Tinubu and Kwankwaso.
Neither of them have a plan to help Nigeria become a money making naiton by getting us off our resource dependency. Just like Buhari, GEJ, Yaradua and even Obasanjo.
And it isn't because of tribe (I am still in mourning over ADC's failure to pick Moghalu).
You want me to support your candidate...then let them have a plan to remove fuel and electricity subsides first, as well as raise our tax to gdp ratio (and no, tinubu is not a good example of a tax raiser)..then we can talk. Don't come and tell me about how they built a lot of stuff, invested in what , or are so on and so forth. Nigeria, whether we like it or not, needs to be a induistrial job producing society. Indecision is as bad as a wrong decision. |

Moh247: According to repentant Ipob terrorist, everyone must support a loser who turned Anambra into slum I can categorically tell you that ipob is the dumbest terrorist (yes terrorist) organisation in the world. Fighting to "free" people by oppressing and killing them. I don't even support the release of Nnamdi Kanu. The guy can rot in jail for all the harm he's caused. Those in the south east see the terrible side of this beast as it maims businesses and kills people. We just want a better Nigeria not the same old crap. |

1. People who think hunger and insecurity have respect for gender, ethnicity, religion or political affiliation. If the structure we have today have brought us to this mess, we need a total overhaul to get right. Proverbs 11:3: if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do? Until we change the foundation (structure), we can't move forward as a nation.
2. Those some how benefitting from the ongoing corruption. Jesus in John 3:19-20 says: "And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practicing evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” This is why the Jews asked that Barabbas be released to them instead of Jesus.
3. Those blinded by ethnic hate. Nigeria is strongly divided along ethnic lines. The thing we don't realise is that there was a time when all the people of the earth had one language (Genesis 11:1-9). We all had one ethnic group and the power of unity that generated was so powerful that we were on the verge of building a tower that would reach the heavens. Even God Himself said nothing could stop us now we were of one accord (Genesis 11:6). He had to come down to confuse our language (give us different tongues) cos we were misusing the power of our unity to challenge His supremacy. If as a nation we can forget about tribe and ethnicity, what we can achieve as a people will be so huge that even God will be in awe (respectfully speaking).
It's time to make Nigeria great again (MNGA)!
We can't have people looking for their certificates trying to rule a huge multi cultural and multi ethnic nation like Nigeria.

Penguin2: I guess you are the one who needs to go back and study the new Electoral Act.
There’s something called substitution of candidate by political parties and it will be available till sometimes in August.
It is the reason Doyin Okupe was named as a placeholder for potential Labour Party VP from the north.
It is same reason Ibrahim Masari was named as placeholder in APC.
These two men are likely to be substituted later.
Now, same with presidential candidates.
A presidential candidate can write INEC to notify it of his/her intention to withdraw from the presidential race and INEC is obligated by law to accept such withdrawal.
Now, there’s no law that says after withdrawing as a presidential candidate you cannot be named as Vice Presidential candidate within the stipulated INEC substitution window.
So, you see? You are the one who needs to read the law and understand.

foryourmindok: Peter Obi was a slave trader in 1781. I can confirm this. He sold blacks for mirror and dry gin.
He was an armed robber and a kidnapper in 1960.
In 2003 he formed Boko Haram with Shekau.
We don hear.

Politics › Re: Peter Obi And Kwankwanso Running Mates by kay1one(m): 4:03pm On Jun 16, 2022 |
Validated: Peter Obi is not contesting 2023 elections. LP was a distraction to make APC think that the PDP is divided. Obi and Kwankwaso will be used to bury APC if they try inconclusive elections. Obi will head Atiku's economic team while Wike will be the Chief of Staff to the president. PDP is targetting 22millim votes to APC's 12million. Who controlled Kano PDP delegates that voted for Atiku? Kwankwaso.
APC will lose by a whopping 7-10 million votes. The only problem is that the vice President heads the economic team except if Obi is given a lot of free hand. Wike chief of staff is just scary |

The man is good no doubt but Nigeria isn't right now so we'll keep making wrong decisions.
Instead of dividing south east votes, let him be given minister of finance in PDP administration.
The goal right now should be preventing a one party state in Nigeria which will happen if APC wins in 2023.
PS: I'm a huge Peter Obi fan but a bigger Nigerian fan. If Peter obi's ambition is going to lead to a one party state in Nigeria, then let's join forces with PDP to oppose APC. |
Politics › Re: Common Sense Politics: PDP & Peter Obi Should Reconcile For Atiku-Obi 2023 Combo by kay1one(m): 3:24pm On Jun 11, 2022 |
MrNice04: I'm Igbo from Anambra State ,but my fellow Igbo are being too emotional. We all know that south east vote alone can't make obi president. So why waste it ? . The deep truth is that any vote for Peter Obi is indirectly a vote for Tinubu. So you indirectly voting for Tinubu for each vote you cast for Peter Obi because all APC need is to split PDP vote in the south east I'm igbo and from Anambra and you said it all. My problem is not tinubu per say but APC. There's a reason why in the US, after every 8 years at most, the ruling party is changed: democrat to republican and vice versa. If we allow APC rule for 16 straight years we'll end up entrenching a one party state in Nigeria: APC becomes as powerful as the communist party of China. No opposition party anymore and the elite will trample on the masses. The ruling party HAS TO change in 2023 and the only party formidable enough to do that right now is PDP. Peter Obi should find a reason no matter how lousy to step down. PDP should give him minister of finance in their administration and hopefully a free hand to work. After 4-8 years it can come to him to be president. Becoming VP in PDP is impossible cos that will taint his political record. The focus now should be how to get APC out of power, simple! |
Politics › One Day, Nigerian Youths Will Realize Their Mistakes by kay1one(op): 7:49pm On Jun 09, 2022 |
Ethnicity, religion has divided us. We are ready to choose incapable people as long as they bear names similar to ours or go to the same places of worship as we do.
When we finally grow up to choose leaders based on their administrative capability, the country will get better. We'll have more money in our pockets and have a better quality of life as well as increased life expectancy.
Imagine how the international community views us. Selling our future just because of ethnicity and religion. This is what caused the Rwandan genocide (fighting over ethnicity). Even Rwandans are embarrassed by that past.
I'm not here to support any candidate but if you honestly know your preferred candidate is an epitome of corruption, dump him/her.
In my opinion, the two main contenders who paid million of dollars to get their tickets are.
The third contender might not be corrupt (or as corrupt) but his lack of structure is a problem. We are however the ones that will give him a structure. Even if he doesn't win, the system has to get the message loud and clear: we have woken up! |
