DotA: Dragon's Blood Book 2 8.5/10

Book 2 takes the baton from Book1 and does justice to the setup job done by Book 1 marvelously. Whereas Book 1 had a travelling adventure theme, Book 2 delves into the political side of this verse, as well as expands its lore. Not to mention the increased stakes from the fallout of the events of Book 1.

Davion's battle for control with Slyrak continues, taking an even more dangerous turn. Mirana is forced to confront her past. The Invoker moves to complete his defeat of Selemené, while keeping Terroblade at bay. And Terrorblade himself, seeks to establish his foothold firmly in this world.
Ashley Miller and her team did a great work of juggling and balancing out these plot points to ensure that the plot progressed in an even manner. A few parts did feel rushed and a couple of characters could have used some more exposition but there's only so much one can fit into 8 episodes of 24+ minutes. And for the amount of time they had, the screenwriting team did a pretty good job, especially with Book 2's central villain. It could have almost been cliché if not for how well written they are.

The cast delivered on bringing the script to life as well, both returning cast members and new additions. The music is pretty decent. And of course, Studio Mir delivers on the visuals, with some well-inspired character designs and crisp animation.

If you liked Book 1 of DotA: Dragon's Blood, you're most likely going to enjoy the Book 2.

Stelios himself said it: "I've fought countless battles, never have I met one who could offer me what we Spartan call a beautiful death. I'm just hoping with all the world warriors gathered against us, there might be one down there who's up to the task".
That phrase doesn't mean their soldiers were weak individually. Just that more victories were won through the strength of the phalanx. There's even a saying quoted in the movie, "A spartan is only as strong as the man fighting next to him".
Stelios is no slouch in single combat but the gladiators trained doggedly in it. There's more a chance of Stelios being granted his wish of a beautiful death than him beating either of 2 champions of the Arena.

One on one I don't even believe Crixus or even Gannicus will be able to defeat Stelios in 300.

Listen to the narrator in 300 where he described what Spartan children were meant to go through. You think the Agoge is a joke?
The strength of Sparta was in the collective unity of the phalanx, not the individual power of their soldiers. Stelios would be at a disadvantage in single combat with either of those gladiators.

Xavier5:
Their roles in Doctor Strange 2 may be an alternate one, that is, they won't be the MCU Reed Richard and Susan Storm, which means their roles may just be a one time one.

And even if they're the MCU ones, that's not a problem, CGI or Makeup will do the job and even if they choose not to use that, that's still not a problem, the only thing there is, we will be having the older versions of the character, not too old though. That's a different take or dimension but that isn't a problem.

#Xavier
Someone also pointed out to me that RDJ was 43 when Iron Man dropped. If he could carry the role for a decade, then my worries seem to be for naught.

Tom Cruise may be a high-ranking member of a cult and crazier than the Mad Hatter, but let's face it, he'd be a natural.
Not debating this at all. I just know he definitely had a hand in making his Iron Man ridiculously OP, if that pic is true.

Anybody remember Joker movie of 2019 huh

Joker was not action packed, it's not even an action movie

Joker had no humor or comedy

Joker did not look like an MCU movie or a comic book movie

Joker was a drama, a sad depressing drama

Joker didn't have Batman, only Joker

A lot of average movie goers think it's overrated

Now my question is this; How did Joker become such a massive success huh

How did an R rated movie make a billion dollars at the box office huh

How did Joker outgross Deadpool films which was action packed with great humor huh

Who contributed to Joker's BO numbers huh

Average moviegoers or aliens from Pluto huh
Joker was a 2 hr movie, though. But yeah, fair point.

Sing 2 (2021) 6.5/10

Sing 2's premise starts out promising a bigger event than the first movie but ends up not meeting that mark. Feels like this one was targeted at Disney's much younger audience with the mustache twirling villain and new characters that mostly weren't fleshed out.

At least, we still have the fire covers of popular music tracks to enjoy and vibe to and Ms Crawly's still keeping it lively.

Sing 2's decent and all but the story just feels like an excuse to have the cast sing covers of some more songs that they probably couldn't fit into the first movie.

A realist is often misinterpreted as a pessimist. It doesn't give me pleasure to bash The Batman, but it is what it is.
Realism takes in both sides of the equation. Spelling doom for a movie that has a fair chance at delivering the goods is pessimism.

VerifiedStalin:
To compare The Batman to a thought-provoking film like Interstellar is absurd. For one thing, Interstellar is a hard science fiction film that provides a unique viewing experience. It has a phenomenal soundtrack, amazing visuals, a sympathetic theme, a great cast, a well-written script, a brilliant director, a well-paced story, and a premise that is firmly anchored in well-researched science. It's difficult not to fall in love with a film that emotes so sincerely and truly.

The Batman, on the other hand, is a full-fedged detective noir story. It's a given that there will be a lot of jawing and brooding and a lot less action and humour. Any intrigue in it will be lost in the muck of the muddled drivel. It's a disaster waiting to happen, and I say this as a DC fan.
Well, someone's gotta be pessimistic, I guess.

The writing is plainly visible on the walls. The average casual moviegoer has a relatively limited attention span, and unless the film is action-packed/humorous, they are unlikely to be interested in seeing sulky Bruce prance around Gotham, in a noir dim lighting. There's a reason why WB executives want to trim it. They've seen it, and they know the length won't go down well with the casuals.
Interstellar wasn't action-packed/humorous and yet grossed $700 million.
The storytelling just needs to be compelling. And that's not exactly impossible for a Batman story.
