PoliticsMass Defections To Apc Signals Great Health by kayjordan(op): 1:44pm On Dec 10, 2025
Call it prostitution, selfishness or undemocratic - I call it "BEING SMART".  It's better to be with a healthy team than with sick teams.

The year 2023 Election has said it all. New parties emerged as living foetus without waiting long enough to be born right and some had a senseless "David and the Goliath" belief system that was long thrown to the Trash Can before they typed or envisioned it.

The mass defection to the APC shows politicians want to be in the winning team. The APC has a structure that has survived its problems - and has a good founding leadership that cannot be replaced. Therefore amongst all political parties on sinking sand, wouldn't it be smart to stay in a political party on a solid rock regardless of sentiments of "PEOPLE FIRST"? - Let me tell you something human: people only work for MONEY! - If that's hard to comprehend then why do most job applicants lie at job interviews about wanting to add value to the organisation? The answer is SIMPLE:  "They Simply Need/Want the Job" - so they tell the interviewers what they want to hear.

In politics, we are selfish animals at home, at work or in public office. The Bible of Democracy is only meant to be meditated on and not necessarily acted on - same is also applied in Churches and Mosques - not leaving out the general society as well where all are expected to be democratic or religious in their everyday ways, not just the politicians or religious leaders.

SO WHAT'S MY POINT? My point simply is "Drop the Rules and Play the Game". No one is breaking the law if they switch political parties that they feel align or doesn't align with their personal values.

The paragraph's function is to illustrate a problem - only if an explanation is not clear enough. The illustration is representational -and not designed to perfectly analyse the problem - but rather give a close visual idea of the problem. Your thinking process is likely influenced by "science-fiction" - which is understandable. The paragraph simply explains and re-affirms my last submission which is - you can disengage terrorists  (mosquitoes) even with high-quality American military weapons (expensive international fumigators) and achieve a temporary result (no more sleepless nights for at least 3months) and still have a re-grouping of terrorists (mosquitoes) who escaped during attacks to seek refuge in neighbouring countries (runaway mosquitoes if any) - or terrorists (mosquitoes) who were not present during the raid returning to these locations (house fumigated 3-months ago) to continue their criminality. The situation is not 100% about quality (expensive stuff) - but also about quantity (numbers of terrorists involved and their allies; number of years the problem has been in existence) - so there must be a balance. I await your 'light scrutiny' as self-implied - If no further response - enjoy an infested day at home.
SeeWahala:
You see this paragraph you wrote below 👇🏾

Yep . . . That paragraph above ☝🏾 made me realise you've been contracting 'local' unprofessional fumigators to run jobs for you or you reside in a pest infested location cry

If you are basing your logic on such a premise them I'm sorry to say but your opinion will cave in like a pack of wet cards under very light scrutiny 🧐

It's not as basic as you think - let's do an exercise - "Spray or fumigate a mosquito or rodent infested house with insecticide/ fumigation gas for 2 hours - relocate people back into the house after 1 week of fumigation and assure them the house is safe now - ' tell them: no more mosquitoes, no more rats' - and check back on them in 3-months - would they inform you that mosquitoes have not disturbed them for the past 3 months and they don't see rats in the house anymore? - or will they inform you that a member of the house had a malaria fever last week and someone else in the house just saw a rat crawl into the kitchen last night?"

The Bandits live in large group accepted - but there are caliphates and communities controlled and likely occupied by bandits and terrorists like ISWAP. Second point: Military drones can only dislogde or disengage activities of terrorists - it cannot kill them totally in minutes - please note: some terrorists will escape, some will not die and some wil not be on ground at that specific time. Terrorism cannot be eliminated - it can only be controlled. Third point: Americans need foot soldiers on ground for quality and effective tackling of insecurity in Nigeria - it requires more human-interaction than robotic actions - that's why military bases are built in the first place.

2-hour operation is too short a time to neutralize terrorists - the terrorists are not concentrated in a particular area - they are sparsely populated. You must bear in mind - some terrorists live amongst citizens and some terrotists have hostages with them. The operation has to be an investigate, search, rescue, neutralize strategy which would require intelligence and planning rather than a quick 50 drones shoot out - unless you want to see mistakes. This isn't Palestine or Ukraine war where there's no consideration for soldiers or the citizens of those countries.

Trump criticized the Nigerian government for not effectively dealing with terrorists killing Christians in Nigeria and he threatened to send soldiers to Nigeria with "guns ablazing" - bandits and terrorists in Nigeria liked the news and decided to begin a new game called "Catch me if You can" - from one state to the other - school girls kidnapped, Christians taken away during a live church service and many more.

Nigeria got heated up the next day after Trump's statement, making the country interesting. The Nigerian government began series of emergency meetings regarding Trump's statement - Newspaper headlines flooded with the high-profile statement that the people can't get enough.

What's the worst that would happen - If American soldiers come to Nigeria?

1. The soldiers will arrive as promised and set anyone they see as terrorists - ablaze?

2. The soldiers will set up a Military base in Nigeria and stay for years monitoring?

3. The American government will take possession of Nigeria indefinitely?

Many Analysts have argued that Nigeria is a sovereign country and Americans cannot interfere. The core issue, is not about Nigeria's sovereignty - but instead about  Nigeria's willingness to help itself. Sometimes, harsh statements are made when people are emotional - such statements don't truly represent the real intention of a person - but we can assume the impulsive statement from Trump, got the Nigerian government to be more proactive - and at the same time, the statement put the country into more danger.

Truth be told - the Nigerian government continues to fight insecurity in their country - and this engagement has been ongoing for more than a decade. Due to the third-world status of the country, the fight against insecurity has not been very successful. Nigeria's high poverty rate is one of the key factors responsible for the rampant kidnappings and terrorist attacks - many terrorists live off the proceeds of these crimes -and this problem is likely to continue for as long as possible.

A way the Nigerian government can safeguard the Nigerian citizens from terrorist attacks, is to continuously educate it's people on security and emergency life-hack lessons through the schools, seminars, conferences and the media - a prevention of a problem is often times better that the solution itself.

Perception is Everything - his past comments may have sounded harsh, rude or indisciplined - his personality is bold and confident - the Advisers of the President know best. The sentiments of behavioural character is often ignored or shielded (common practice in Nigeria). It's believed that once he wears a new cap, his disposition will change - if he keeps up with the same undesired attitude, then he proves himself wrong and his critics right.

The appointments of Mahmood Yakub (Former INEC Chairman) and Reno Omokri (Former Adviser/Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan) as Ambassadors is raining criticisms on the President. Why the President should not be criticized:

1. The President was likely advised to select Mahmood Yakub as an Ambassador for his PROBLEM SOLVING skills.

2. The President was likely advised to select Reno Omokri for positive commentaries which shows good PUBLIC RELATIONS skills.

THE DETAILS:

Professor Mahmood Yakub in the 2023 elections, handled electoral matters and criticisms quite well with diplomacy. He constantly gave press briefings during the result announcement phase and showed leadership in that regard. In addition to his work as a former INEC Chairman, he holds a Professorship title with a wealth of knowledge that may be helpful for his new role. He possesses an easy going demeanor which is attractive for an Ambassador role.

Reno Omokri held a government position which shows an evidence of experience for his new role. Omokri has actively approved some actions of the President particularly during the fuel subsidy period. His commentaries prove his ability to represent Nigeria in a positive way.

The role of an Ambassador is to represent the interest of a country, communicate and foster relations - and both appointees have a blend of problem solving skill, good communication skill and overall - good presentation.

The displeasure expressed by certain persons concerning the appointees is likely a combination of a political strategy to win political points and an irritation with a certain appointee's connection to the 2023 result declaration.

What matters is the ability to do the job.

CORRECTION: My article is a subjective understanding of the situation. The genocide is a reality but what we need to understand is if the problem is wide spread in all 36 states of Nigeria? Nigerian muslims live in harmony with Christians. It is only the extremists that may share the same view with Islamic terrorists. Christian killings should be condemned. The 400% increase in killings from 2019-2022 you mentioned is still a sample study and not a wide spread issue. The problem is unique to specific pocket locations in Nigeria. Nevertheless, small number of killings shouldn't be disregarded nor looked down on.
ebukal67x:
The over 400% increase in the killing of Christians in Nigeria between 2019 and 2022 as highlighted in the report is what the American analysts were responding to. So, it is not all about 'sample population'.

PoliticsDid Americans Over-report The Insecurity Numbers In Nigeria by kayjordan(op): 3:14pm On Nov 30, 2025
American analysts gave an alarming report that Christians in Nigeria are being killed recently and this sparked a big debate that some Nigerians felt was over reported and others including Americans believing its accuracy. Are Christians in Nigeria truly being killed in large numbers?

(ABSTRACT THOUGHTS) - People are killed in Nigeria particularly in the northern part of Nigeria but the killing of Christians remains a sample population report - from the pictures showing crisis aftermath in northern Nigeria, we see virtually all tribes and people of various religious faith affected. The reports mostly received on social media are often misinterpreted and transmitted all over the world. These information, become convenient sources that further spread to other people via word of mouth and in quick time, it becomes news that people expect you to believe.

America is a respected authority and anything that comes out of America is regarded "Authentic" including the information she disseminates. The accuracy of information from American researchers and analysts can be given a tentative 80% score mark based on their track record of scientific research - nevertheless, one cannot omit the fact that Americans can be fantastic Story-Tellers rather than Fact-Tellers - Why? - Americans don't live in Nigeria and they can only be informed by Nigerians. For example: If a biased Nigerian holds a conversation with an American researcher or analysts, the researcher or analysts is most likely going to be misinformed.

In the cases of Nigerians under-reporting the insecurity situation in the northern part of Nigeria, the same scenario above applies - a Lagosian for example, does not know the real happenings in the northern part of Nigeria simply because he/she does not live there.

Information passes through people with different personalities - some of which are honest, gossips and pathetic liars - so information must be filtered to be accurate. Analysts must be able to sift real information from fake ones to a certain degree - it can never be accurate enough because if for instance, an American researcher goes to Kebbi State in Nigeria to study a group of 1,000 persons who have probably been fed with the same misinformation, the researcher will most likely be misinformed as well therefore, leading to a hallucination that the researcher would export to America.

American Lawmakers says insecurity is under-reported by the Nigerian government. Insecurity, killings and crimes around the world are often under-reported and billions of cases cannot be reported at the same time and so many remote locations in the world are far from the public's reach ever to be heard.

Immediately, after the statement by Trump on the genocide on Christians in Nigeria, the news became amplified and it created a cult following and in effect, created more terrorist stage performances in current times. This doesn't affirm Nigeria's insecurity, it only affirms Nigerians thirst to blow out of proportion the news or it only heightens certain kinds of news that make the insecurity appear more real than expected which therefore, makes the often disregarded insecurity news more regarded.

Funding government operations is expensive and many people don't believe due to what they consume. NIN identity cards are quite effective at solving the problem but with an active database system. Tinubu's transparency level is debatable and the speculative media is speculative due to legal sanctions that is common globally.

Baxilexi:
Nigerians are unaware of our true financial strength as a nation. To overhaul the police force is a year’s project. Redirect funds for the coastal highway and other white elephant projects towards security. This isn’t just about weapons but intelligence.

Sign a contract with Musk, subscribe for security intel,
Get weaponized drones
Install AI public cameras in high alerts states
Ensure every Nigerian has their NIN, printing 150 million cards (adult population) would take less than 4 months; anyone caught without this will be jailed
Link the NIN to everything; home address, bank account, school info, hospital info

The list goes on and on but as I said, Tinubu belongs to the class of politicians that hate transparency.
Trump holds live press sessions for all meetings, he doesn’t mind goofing but he’s upholding a standard, demystifying the White House and giving Americans a greater sense of agency over how they’re led. The opposite is what we’ve got here, media houses speculating or given a script to present. Worse off media boys working overtime.

Is Tinubu willing to let law and justice prevail? Good begets good, evil begets evil, every tree bearing fruits after its kind.
