Chapter 10 "What exactly did Adunni tell you?" She asked without looking at him. He looked at her for a while as if not knowing how to say what he had to say, then he turned off the car stareo, sat back in his seat before saying, "She told me you wanted to have sex with me." A few seconds went by and when he didn't get any response from her, he went on to say, "She told me you have been working on getting me hooked up with your friends so you could have sex with me eventually." "Is that all she told you?" "Yes." He said with a face like he was wondering why she was not denying the allegations. "She told you my friend, Ann told her that, right?" "Yes." "The only mistake i made was trying to hook you up with that girl before i really knew her." "What are you saying?" "Yes, at a time, I really wanted to be more than your friend." She paused, took a deep breath before countinuing. "And yes I told her how i felt, but i never said i wanted to sleep with you. It was all girl talk I thought would stay between us." She looked at him affectionately for a few seconds before adding, "I didn't want you to end up unhappy like me, that's why I wanted to hook you up so bad." "What are you talking about? Jack is a good guy." He said with a curious look on his face. "Yes, he is a good guy. He is a great guy. But...but i am nothing more than his beard." "His beard? What are you talking about?" "Stephen, Jack is gay." "What?" He said as he turned in his seat to face her. She had a smile on her face as she said, "I have nothing against gay people, but he lied to me." "You didn't know while you were dating?" "You know him just as much as I do...did you?" Stephen shook his head slowly, lost in thought. His mind went through all the times he had spent with Jack, wondering if there were any signs that he might have been gay, but he couldn't even picture Jack as a homosexual. He was too macho. Not like they had been best buddies, but back when he was a heavy drinker, Jack had been a regular at a bar he frequented. They had connected when they discovered they both had a love for psychological thriller movies. Coincidentally, Jack worked on the same street with Modupe back then, and one day, after going to see Modupe at work, he saw Jack while she was walking him to his car. He introduced them, and, a few months later, they told him they had started dating. And a year later, they were married. Stephen had thought the whole thing happened so fast back then, but since he knew both of them really well, he had been genuinely happy for them. "You see why I didn't know how to explain things to Adunni, or you." Modupe said, distorting his train of thought. "Also, you and Jack were very good friends at some point, so..." "So..." Stephen said, urging her on. She took a deep breath before saying, "The other reason why I wanted you to hook up with my friends was because..." "Because...?" "Because I needed to know something, and I couldn't find out on my own. I needed to know if you were gay." |
I will have to look for sharp sand too, wood shaven has become so scarce in my area in ibadan. I used to buy a rice sack full for 200 Naira early this year, now i have to beg people to sell same quantity to me for 400 Naira. The big poultry companies always come with trailers/trucks to buy all the wood shaven at Bodija market. |
Hello people, I need 5 black point of lay pullets in Ibadan. I will be needing them next week Wednesday. Please if you have in Ibadan, let me know, and state how much you sell them for. Thank you. |
Cloud007:So true. |

charlesklaus:Obasonjo was just being sacarstic. He really meant the opposite of what he said. |
michoim:Exactly! It is just the people that are running this forum that want to cause confusion because of the traffic they would get. But this ain't cool at all. |
enesty77:Dude, chill, you can't totally blame people for not getting it. If you want to blame anyone, blame the mods that made this a "clickbait" post. |
bakeuhappy:Thank you. |
Penalty82:He knows EFFC is coming for his Asss soon after his time as Governor expires, and he wants it to appear as if they are coming for him because he is trying to dethrone Buhari. |
waliyarh01:Thank you too. |
dammyd46:Thank you. I am doing sanitation now, but i will surely continue with this story this weekend. |
uniquebee:Yup. Thanks. |
toyhin123:Sorry. I will try and finish the story this week. I just kinda got discouraged by the low comments from my short story (The Loose Noose) that hit frontpage on Tuesday. I poured my heart into that story but i dont think i got more than 5 comments on it. Lol! Anyway, i will definitely finish this story this weekend. I have another story i want to start. Thanks for your comment. I really appreciate it. |
menstrualpad:Please are you sure of this? |
armyofone:Hmm! This is so true. Especially the mortage and montly car loan payment. I know how much my cousin in America pays on his car loan monthly...and that is just one bill o. |
EMMAACHILE:Okay. Thank you. |
EMMAACHILE:How do you measure the quantity to use? |
EMMAACHILE:Hmm! I want to try out 50 broilers from day old next month, but dont know where to get all these leaves. I wish i could just buy an organic drug of some sorth that contains all these or something. |
EMMAACHILE:Okay. Maybe you made them overdependent on drugs. I never gave my drugs from the onset cos of what i read about them. |
EMMAACHILE:It is not impossible to raise Noilers without drugs and have no motality. With my second set of 51 Noilers, i didn't give them any drugs or vaccines at all, excpet from Vitamins, and they lived a healthy life and i took them all down to Lagos from Ibadan...none died. I sold them, and the three left are still in my parents house till now...since last year december. The two females now lay eggs, and hatch chicks...and the male is so massive right now. I wanna ask tho...did u really raise Broilers with no form of medication at all? Pls enlighten me on this. Thanks. |
seunmsg:LMAO! |
kinibigdeal:It is either the guy was too drunk to defend himself/fight back, or he was asleep when she attacked him. |
Schlastica16:Later today |
albacete:Thanks. |
Sirme411:Nope. I did what i wanted to do. That's the end. |
Wow! She finally made it. Congrats to her. I am happy for her. She is so real and hardworking. She deserves it. |
bakeuhappy:Lol! Thanks. I'm fine. |
Sparkle777:Peter is the muscular one with low cut, while paul is the one with dreads...the quiet one. Jude is their elder brother with strong face. |
emmanuelewumi:Gbam! You have said it all...especially your last paragraph. |
Chapter 9 After eating at his favorite African food restaurant, he had watched a movie to kill time, now He was seated on the bench close to the mall's exit, waiting for the rain to stop. His plan was to drive down to Modupe's house, but right now, he was feeding his eyes with all the beauties that wondered around the mall, stranded like him. Tall, short, slim, big, light skinned, dark skinned, they all looked beautiful to him. They were all the beautiful to him because each and everyone of them had a story to tell, and trying to guess what was running through their minds fascinated him. One girl caught him staring and whispered something to her friend. He quickly looked away, and shifted his attention to the movie brochure in his hand. "Hello." He heard a soft spoken voice say and he looked up. It was the girl that had caught him staring. He was wondering why she and her chubby friend were giggling, till the girl asked, "Please are you Stephen Iloya." He wondered what was going on. How did these girls know my name, he thought to himself. "Yes." He answered with a quizzical look on his face. Their innocent teanage faces lit up and they asked if they could seat beside him, he said yes, still wondering what was going on. When the girls told him they had read all his books, he thought it was a prank till they brought out their phones and showed him his books on their iPhones. He had always sold a lot more books on Apple's iBooks store, but he had never really met a fan in person before. This was totally new to him, and even though he didn't like the attention the girls brought to him as they started posing to take pictures with him, he was glad he could make their day. .......... Stephen was about driving into Modupe's street when he noticed he had a flat. Now he was parked by the roadside, waiting for the rain to go down a bit before he would either change his tire, or just walk over to her place. He sat there, listening to smooth r&b music as he used his writer intuition to come up with possible outcomes of the whole Modupe controversy. A black saden car parked on the other side of the road from him, and after a few seconds, it drove off, revealing a slim lady in grey skirt suit, holding up a yellow umbrella. She looked to the left, and to the right, and then to the left one more time before crossing the road. She recognized the car immediately and a smile appeared on her face as she walked over to the drivers side of the car. He tried to put up a stern look, but he just couldn't. He had underestimated her power over him. She knocked on the window, and he turned the key in the ignition to lower it. "Is this some sort of stakeout?" She said with a puzzled look on her face, which was quickly replaced with a smile. He couldn't help but smile too. She walked over to the passengers' side of the car, closed her umbrella and got in. "Don't tell me you don't have an extra tire?" She said as she clasped the umbrella and put it in the little space between the car seat and the car door. "I do." He said and stared at her with eyes filled with questions. She sighed and shifted in her seat so that she was facing him before saying, "Okay. Where do i start?" |
Ayomicome:Thank you. |
