Popular non-denominational Christian ministry, The Elevation Church (TEC), has refuted social media reports that it has investments in Imagine Global Solutions, an embattled microlending company.

In an internal message to church members, Lead Pastor, Godman Akinlabi said, “this information is false. The Elevation Church has no such investment whatsoever. From inception, as an institution, we set internal and external systems and processes that have allowed us to operate with high standards of financial probity and accountability, as faithful stewards under God.”

The rumours began spreading after an Instagram user with the handle, @_trapselena_ said Bamise and Elizabeth Ajetunmobi, the couple running Imagine Global lending scheme, were on the run with monies of Nigerians running into billions.
“Major investors include The Elevation Church, which gave them N500m,” the Instagram user said.

However, it was observed that the user has already taken down the post from her Instagram account and has subsequently set her account to private.

Meanwhile, Piggyvest, one of the organizations mentioned as an investor in the scheme, has also refuted the rumours. In a statement issued to the media, Piggyvest stated that “the report claiming that Piggyvest had lost N2billion in an alleged Bamise ImagineLenders scam trending on Instagram is completely false and unfounded.”

The social media has proven to be an unreliable source of information as it is often a tool for misinformation. One classic example was the rumoured death of veteran actor, Olu Jacobs in July 2020. Olu Jacobs recently attended the 60th birthday of his wife, Joke Silver.

At least two members of the Ebubeagu Security Network were killed in Ebonyi State on Saturday during the All Progressives Congress, APC, ward congress in the State, Igbere TV reports.

IGBERE TV gathered that the ugly incident happened Ugwuachara, Abakaliki, capital of Ebonyi State.

According to resident of the area that spoke with IGBERE TV, suspected gunmen interrupted the ward congress of the All Progressive Congress (APC), killing two in the process and the election materials carted away.

IGBERE TV reports apart from the scores of party members who sustained varying degrees of injury, the most pathetic case was that of a woman, whose left leg was completely shattered.

A yet to be identified Lagos bolt driver made a video of a slay queen who couldn’t pay for her ride of because her boyfriend who is supposed to pay suddenly stopped picking calls.

The scene between the lady and bolt driver attracted a passerby who tried to resolve the matter amicably between both parties but could not.

According to the lady warning not to be recorded, she said she is a video vixen and people know her a lot. She told the peacemaker that she only needed the driver to calm down for her boyfriend to pick the call and do a transfer.

On his part, the driver said he had ended the trip and another rider has requested him but the boyfriend has refused to pick calls.

He said, “It is better for everybody to know what is happening because when they say, they say bolt drivers are rude.

”When I pick a rider, a rider pays me and comes down from my car. Am not to be bothered if a boyfriend or someone is not picking call.

“I ended her trip at 10 o’clock and waited 30mins before taking any action and this is already to eleven.

She refused when the cab man suggested that she should drop a valuable that she can collect back when her boyfriend pays for the trip.

Towards the end of the video, he requested for her phone but she held on tightly to it.
