I swear to God Superbrain its like we were interviewed by the same person. Went for my interview today, I was asked the same questions except for the business part. The Consular asked whether I will seek medical treatment and I said No. Got my visa in 2 mins.

BigBashiru:

@Hotstepper
Yeah i know, the issue is that I am applying with 1 year experience and getting 6/8 for french to make the 67 points;
in case I am refused the permanent residency application, then if I apply as a student again for study permit, I will most likely be refused since I had already shown immigration intent, its a risky venture, but I think I will proceed to apply for the permanent residency - life is either a daring adventure or nothing. wat do you think?

@Bigbashiru

Since you scored 6 out 8 in french, why not try the quebec selection process. its a lot faster than skilled worker and if quebec turns u down u can still try the PR route. But remember the skilled worker process takes up to 5 years if you are applying from naija. I suggest u try getting a student visa. You are entitled to a 3 yr open workpermit after graduation so long as you attend school full-time during fall and winter semesters .

@igbogolo,

Please tell your niece that she shouldn't wait until the 1st week of sept before she travels. She needs to be in Canada @ least 2 weeks before school resumes to sort out her accommodation, course registration,banking etc. SFU is a big school so she needs to be familiar with the environment. Missing orientation/frosh week wont do her any good

vanessa_ra,

Have u tried the uk, I am sure their are schools that will accept a  2:2. The reason I am saying this is because Centennial College is mostly for Canadians who arent interested  in uni but still want to get some qualifications or for Immigrants looking to upgrade their education so that it will be easy for them to find work. As u said u are in ur late twenties and that to a visa officer is "no intention to return after studies".  Even if u get a visa, u will have a hard time getting a job in ur field of study because most canadian architectural firms hire pple with a first degree from a canadian uni.

The guy that owns a 7-11 in my apartment building has a masters degree in arch from peru and one of his work is displayed @ McGill Uni. He applied to a lot of arch firms and none of them hired him even though most of them studied his work during their undergrad. He decided to redo his masters @Mcgill and they turned him down. He was advised to redo his undergrad first before applying for his masters.

I will advice to look for schools in the uk that will take a 2:2 cos its likely u will be turned down.
Religion / Re: Gay Church In Nigeria by kaysie83: 7:15pm On Jul 31, 2008
All these anger, if only u guys channeled dis kind of energy towards our govt officials things might change for d better. You call them gays and all sorts

of names yet most of the things u buy from the stores like ur shoes, clothes, perfume and even the pillow case and bedsheet u use on ur bed are

designed by gay men i.e Perry Ellis, YSL, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Thierry Mugler, JPG,Christian Dior,Dolce& Gabbana not including the not so famous

designers.

Since "GAY people are disgusting and they should all be hung, drawn and quartered!!"(Gonorrhea), when next you are in d store and u see that JPG

perfume that is on sale for half the price dont  bother buying it, its as simple as that. You cant bash them and still use their products, thats my 2 cents.

Elando:

hi nairalanders,
i found a website on migration to canada (migrationexpert.com/canada). i visited it and was asked to answer some questions, after which i was told i qualify to migrate as a skilled worker. I even got to the interview stage, after which i was told i can now start processing my visa, but after paying 409 CAD for an advanced migration service.

please are they for real? have they actually helped anyone to migrate?
am confused.
@ Elando, You don't have to pay anyone a dime. The skilled worker program application process is a straight forward thingy. You go on CIC website print the simplified application process form, fill the form and send it to the nearest cic office which I am assuming is Ghana since your profile says naija(please correct me if am wrong) with your application fee. it will take some time even years but if you have your sh*t together I am sure it will work out for u.

This agent that is asking u to throw away $409 is not like he/she is going to tell u what is not on their website already or that there are other ways of applying for the skilled worker program that folks don't know about, unless he/she is a "wuru wuru agent" and they are going to use illegal means to get u to canada. I suggest u just use the money towards your application fee and hopefully things will work out for u by God's grace. $409 no be small money.

megastu:

Elando, its not a scam. Migrationexpert is a reputable immigration body, and u must pay for their service. Oyibo no dey use money play. However, you can do it yourself by visiting the immiration website. or mail me at mibisnow@yahoo.co.uk  to connect you with the canadian lawyer david cohen

@megastu David Cohen isnt that special trust me.

aydewale:

@ Delta.

You are so rude and very annoying in your response to my queries. I hate your guts and consider u uncultured.

I'd rather u don't respond than give me condescending or sarcastic answerrs. I really wonder who the heck u are? I definitely am doing well in Nigeria and won't even cry if I don't get a visa. I wonder why I am even dignifying your awkward response with an answer.

You are so annoying and am sure u are arrogant over nothing. Maybe because u are a second class human in another's land.

@aydewale, you need to relax, those of us here experience the backlog when renewing our visa especially during the summer when it takes about 60 days.
Ezinwannem:

@Delta, true ooo, 30 working days havent passed. Remember, they will observe any Canaidan and Nigerian public holidays tongue

 @ezinwannem you forgot the quebec holiday st-jean-baptiste which is today.I am sure the lady that performs the medical exam at yaba dr marie will not be working today as she  is a quebecor grin.

@Delta and Ezinwannem,  u guys took the words right out of my mouth, couldn't have said better myself.

@olubumni80,I am just wondering how you are going to study, write the gmat and still hand in  your application on time for the winter semester. Applying for a canadian study permit  is a full-time job on its own and the procedure is totally d/f from the uk study visa.  it can't be used as a last resort . You need to draw up a plan esp for the gmat, submitting your admission forms, and your visa application.
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada by kaysie83: 8:46pm On Jun 12, 2008
@olubumni80,

Most MBA programs in Canada have entrance scholarships and awards so long as u have a good gpa and gmat scores . I dont think u should choose the

school based on their tuition fees thats just my 2 cents.

Celebrities / Re: 50 Cent's Retirement? by kaysie83: 5:33pm On Sep 17, 2007
I can't believe folks fell for that his charade. if u know celebs u know its all about PR . people don't buys CD's anymore. I can't even remember the last time I picked up a cd @ the store. these days its all about itunes.

if u ask me fiddy and kanye planned it to get people to buy their CDs and its working, Kanye sold about 700,000 and fiddy 500,000. 1,200,000 multiplied by $15 and we are looking at almost $18million in sales for the both of them within the first week.
all I can say is WO SA (don't mind my spelling).This publicity stunt beats my Personal selling,Advertising and PR classes. I am thinking of asking my school for a 30% refund since I never came across this sort of information in textbooks/lectures/presentation/classnotes.
