There are fewer posts on the 'living Canada' thread than on this one.

It is clear that once people finally settle in Canada, they are less inclined to guide people in the aspect of how they can settle.

This student visa thread is one of the most active on Nairaland.
That’s 100 percent true. I asked 3 different questions on the “living in Canada” thread, only 1 was answered. Don’t even know who to ask again.
I’m even thinking of moving my flight ticket till I’m fully sure that I’m set to go.

Please be careful.
Admin @Oliadeo7 just tried to scam me of 1.5m.
I know there are people trying to get help here. But take everything slowly. Don't be eager and get duped. He gave me rate of 340 to 1 cad and I fell for it. Not knowing that this guys is a scam. He paid the fees. Waiting for me to send the money to a Nigerian account that is not in his name and passport id doesn't have the same name nor does he has the same name on number. I told someone in Canada to call the number he gave me and he didn't pick and later called him to a private number.. He said he graduated from ubc. He has pr. All na lie. Please be careful. This are the pictures given to me. Please be careful out there.
Omo!! People are wicked oh. He sent me a private message 3 days ago that he could assist me with tuition payment, I thank God I didn’t fall in his trap.

Hello Kayyyy, you don’t need to have an existing account with the bank before you use their Form A services. That I know for sure. Form A is a CBN directive and not an individual banking policy.

For instance I used Stanbic-IBTC and I’m not their customer. You can confirm this for yourself.

Visit any Stanbic, Access, Fidelity, Zenith branch etc, stay away from old archaic banks like First bank and co, lol.

{It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All}
Thank you so much

To pay your school fees at the best rate (CBN), please visit any of these banks: Stanbic-IBTC, Fidelity, Access, FCMB etc and ask them for a (FORM A), that you want to pay your foreign University tuition.

Go to the bank with the following documents:

• Original International Passport
• Original copies of your University certificate
• Your school Invoice showing their bank account and other details.
• They’ll give you a form to fill too

{It’ll Surely End In Praise for us All}
Hi Pinkey2021. Please I wanted to ask if I must have an account with either of the banks listed to pay the tuition?? Since many are saying Zenith bank is a No No (lol) I want to try Stanbic or Fidelity.

Hello beautiful people.

So, it is already a week that I got into Canada (University of Saskatchewan) and a lot has been happening. I'll be back with my landing gist ( almost 24 hours on airshocked shocked)

I want to thank Frankrobbin, Silvamania, Awys, Olasubomy and all the amazing people that I didn't mention for all the advice. (Although I had applied before joining nairaland)

However, while I try to fully settle into Saskatoon, you can catch up on all my moving to Canada from Nigeria series where I drop some nuggets as to what to take along, how j booked my flight and covid appointment and I'll be posting more about my mandatory quarantine at the hotel, study visa processing, how I got refused the first time, what i did differently in the second application, how I changed my course and still got approved.

God bless you abundantly!!!!!

You can reduce your load from other items that are not compulsory you carry or can easily be gotten in Canada then spread the foodstuff between two bags to reduce the weight. The truth is you need your foodstuffs.

Another option is going with your load as it is and paying for extra luggage at the airport if your parents agree. You can take your food in small quantities as planned if you have explored other options in reducing the weight of your luggage.
Thanks so much, I’ll reduce my load then.

Lol.... my parents have been shouting about extra luggage for the last 3 weeks when I show them my list. I’ll have to take them in small quantities then.
You’re lucky you’re on low cut

Good day.

Please for those who travelled recently with food stuff, is dried ponmo, frozen palm oil and beans allowed?

(Before you say it, yes I know these items are sold in African stores.)

Secondly, is there any place to change USD to CAD at Pearson Airport on landing?
Thank you.
Please this is a very important question. I also want to know if beans is allowed.

Hi all, I will be traveling to Canada on May 7th, by God’s grace and I want to start shopping. Please I need everyone’s help as to what is allowed and what isn’t allowed. Here are the things I’m planning to bring with me when coming;
Ogbono, egusi, crayfish, black pepper, seasoning cubes (knorr and Royco), granola (roasted oats), satchet milk, tea bags, satchet milo, spaghetti, macaroni, red garri.
Please please please, will they all be allowed into Canada??

Ask your question on the Living in Canada/Life as a Canadian immigrant Thread. You will get good response there. Make a list of things you intend to travel with and they will tell you those that are not allowed and unnecessary.
Thank you very much, let me go there with my full list, lol.

Hello everyone, I give God the glory as i just received my stamped passport today.
I want to specially appreciate this wonderful community of brothers, one of the best communities ever.
my timeline is as follows
Nov 16 2020 submitted my application
Nov 25 2020 biometrics enrollment
Jan 25 2021 Upfront medicals (passed in Feb 3rd)
PPR and BVL came in on the 29th of march 2021.

Like they say no two applications are the same, in my case I only had to show a letter of introduction from my employer as my funding document. my employer (government institution) had explicitly stated in the introduction letter that they will take care of my finances related to my study. i did not show my account or payslip anywhere as i no geti monie grin that time. the point here is that study dreamers should do the best they can and pray for favour, God will surely bring it to pass.

Also, is it the best time to apply for my Spouse and 5 month old baby? should i wait until i resume school in canada ? Please guys what do you think?

IT WILL END IN PRAISE.

Congratulations sir

Let's somebody shout hallelujah. Indeed what the Almighty God cannot do, does not exist. Out for the blues, BVL and PPR dropped today. I will share the full timeline soon. But now I have a small issue nairaland. In the PPR, they noted my passport must be valid for the duration of your expected length of stay in Canada.
• Please note that we cannot issue a visa beyond the expiry date on the passport.

My passport is to expire on the 2nd of March 2022. And my expected stay in August ending 2022. Please what should I do?
Congratulations

Hi good day everyone, I’m a newbie here and I have a question to ask please. I’ll be traveling to Alberta by God’s grace first week of May and would like to know if I can quarantine in my uncle’s house after the 3 days mandatory quarantine at one of the hotels.
Since my classes are online for now, don’t want to spend money on accommodation.
Thanks so much as I await your responses. Happy Easter!!!!
