Well, it serves no purpose anymore. The point is to declare your assets BEFORE assuming office. 2 months is more than enough time to acquire assets fraudulently in Nigerian government, for anyone with the intention to do so.

Lmao. . .look at this Ota imb.ecile o. We never blame you finish for your own monumental failures, but you dey try hide behind Goodluck Jonathan. I guess his senile mind tells him that if he keeps screaming GEJ we might forget that he remains the embodiment of all that is wrong with Nigeria. GEJ graciously bowed out of power after 6 years to the admiration of all, but this idiat, after ruling Nigeria for 11 years had to be dragged out of Aso Rock by his agbada, as he sought an unconstitutional 3rd term.

I'll always salute that great African hero that ambushed Obasanjo at the Lagos airport and unleashed a hailstorm of punches and kicks before security operatives got to him. Such was the level of disgust and resentment Nigerians harbored towards Obasanjo for squandering a golden opportunity to get things right in Nigeria.

wikipedia entry. this same victor banjo captured benin ore by himself in less than a day. very brave man. wonder why he aligned with biafra doe

Biafra[edit]
When Biafra was proclaimed on May 30, 1967 Banjo was pardoned by President Odumegwu Ojukwu and made Colonel due to his involvement in a 1966 coup. When the Nigerian Army invaded Biafra on July 6, 1967 Ojukwu sent Banjo and Major Albert Okonkwo to invade Nigeria. Banjo was able to capture Benin City in less than a day and was able to get within 300 kilometers of the Nigerian capital Lagos. After Banjo was repulsed at the Battle of Ore he decided to plot a coup against Ojukwu as well a plot to assassinate Nigerian President Yakubu Gowon. Banjo wired a letter to the United States asking for support for his cause but was denied. One of Banjo's fellow plotters informed Ojukwu about the plot and Ojukwu had Banjo and 2 other coup plotters arrested. After a two-day trial Banjo and the two other plotters were found guilty of treason and were sentenced to death. On September 22, 1967 Banjo, Emmanuel Ifeajuna, and Philip Alale were marched into the Enugu city center and were tied to a pole. A firing squad of Biafran soldiers fired at them. When Banjo was hit he yelled "I'm not dead yet!" and he had to be shot four more times before he died.[4][5][6][7][8]

Bro, many things on wikipedia are baseless and can be edited by anyone with internet access. I've never heard anyone with some authority who witnessed the episode support that tale, so it remains just a rumor to me no matter how many times it's recycled. People still run around with the story of how Fajuyi insisted on dying with Ironsi, yet no one directly involved with that episode has ever given credence to that story. Facts suggest that he never had the option to choose his fate.

well all coups are different. in the coup that happened when they installed buhari, he was not part of the coup. do you think a disciplined man like buhari will take part in a coup ? coups are for the power drunk and reckless. buhari is neither reckless nor is he power drunk
Is Buhari more disciplined than Idiagbon who was part of the coup? Major Idowu Bamidele got wind of the 1983 coup plot and took it up with his chain of command to Buhari who was the GOC of the 3rd Div, and was subsequently arrested and detained for two weeks till the coup was executed, on Buhari's orders.

The death of Brigadier Bako(I believe he was the only casualty) cannot be used to exempt Buhari from the coup plot. Maj Jokolo rtd (Buhari's ADC and former Emir of Gwandu) disclosed that their(Buhari led group) merged with the IBB group, which was also plotting a coup about the same time, and sidelined a third plot being led by one Maj. Joseph Jetawo.

Many participants in a coup plot may not have an active role, but are well aware of the plot, provide logistics, do their part to conceal the plot, provide information and so forth. In the very least, Buhari was involved at this level.

I understand that sometimes coup plotters would bequeath power to a senior officer that they believe holds similar principles, but if the senior officer is aware of the coup plot before it is executed and does nothing to quell it, you better believe he has become a part of the plot. In Buhari's case, Major Bamidele's ordeal gives us at least one known instance of Buhari acting in support of the 1983 coup plot.

OP, there are many unhinged characters roaming these parts, craving for the slightest provocation to ignite their fury. I have also seen self-proclaimed Efiks and Ibibios here that have made unsavory remarks about the Igbo at different times. Does this mean that our respective people are no longer in good terms because some uncouth knuckleheads on a faceless forum decided to trade insults? I believe the situation on ground suggests otherwise. So, do not be quick to indict Igbo for the erratic comments of a few urchins, who may not even be Igbo but are hell bent on sowing discord, as you noted. Rest assured, most of us are familiar with the good ole' 'Igbo want our oil' propaganda and the clowns that stagger around to propagate it. The comic relief they provide is duly noted.

CrimeRe: Policeman Kills Nursing Mothers At Edo Funeral by Kc3000: 7:56pm On Jun 29, 2015
The Nigerian police must use a special type of firearm that does not have a safety catch. Even pre-teenagers at the Nigerian Military School never discharge their weapons accidentally, yet these policemen find a way to keep accidentally shooting innocent people. . .I take a look at how the idiats handle their rifles like sticks and I can tell they have zero muzzle discipline. Give these ones grenades and they'll certainly kill everything in sight, including themselves. Except when in active pursuit of armed criminals, I recommend they only carry batons.
PoliticsRe: Boko Haram Suspects Arrive Ekwulobia Prison, Anambra by Kc3000: 4:08am On Jun 29, 2015
This is what the facebook link says:

Chief Willie Obiano
PRESS STATEMENT

THE PLANNED RELOCATION OF BOKO HARAM CONVICTS TO ANAMBRA PRISONS

SETTING THE RECORDS STRAIGHT

The attention of the Governor of Anambra State, Chief Willie Obiano has been drawn to the mischievous speculations on the social media that the planned relocation of some Boko Haram convicts to some prisons in Anambra State was done with his tacit approval and endorsement. I wish to categorically dismiss these speculations, hearsay and beer parlour banters as fundamentally untrue and should be disregarded by Nigerians.

Hard Facts

The fact is that when governor Obiano got wind of the planned relocation of these high risk prisoners to Anambra State, he quickly swung into action and contacted the relevant authorities to seek clarifications on the matter after which he raised several objections to the plan.

Among Governor Obiano’s many objections are -

That Anambra has been one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria in the past one year under his watch and that the arrival of these radical elements in any part of the state would disrupt this peace and lead to a new regime of a different kind of fear in the state.

That Ekwulobia Prisons is not a Maximum Security Prison. It is therefore not suitable as holding place for convicted terrorists. Global experiences show that terrorists and terror suspects are kept in strongly fortified and isolated places. A good example is the Guantanamo Bay Detention Camp where the US keeps high-risk terror suspects and convicts which is a military facility, located away from the people. Ekwulobia Prisons does not fit into this category of detention facilities.

That Ekwulobia Prisons has a capacity to hold 85 inmates. At the moment, there are 135 inmates in the prison. Therefore, there is no space for new prisoners. The acute shortage of space presents a high possibility for the radicalization of other inmates by the Boko Haram convicts.

That unlike other locations where the terror-convicts are held in sparsely populated areas which makes their isolation from the people easy, Ekwulobia is a densely populated town. There is a very high risk of contact between these radical prisoners and the civilian population with an avoidable danger.

That the relocation of these prisoners to Anambra may not have paid adequate attention to the sensibilities of the country, especially the fact that some ethnic populations have suffered the most from the activities of these convicts across the North.

Governor Obiano’s efforts to establish this understanding and achieve a speedy and peaceful resolution of the matter went to the highest authorities. He was given assurances that the matter would be looked into with a view to resolving it with dispatch.

With these assurances he worked assiduously to ensure that there was no breakdown of law and order during the peaceful demonstration staged by traders across the state on Saturday, June 27, 2015 against the relocation of the inmates. Since the demonstration, Governor Obiano has continued to engage the relevant authorities on behalf of Ndi Anambra to ensure an amicable resolution of the issue.

He therefore urges Ndi Anambra and Ndigbo in general to remain calm and avoid anything that might lead to a breach of the peace as the matter is being resolved at the highest level.

Thank you

James Eze

PoliticsRe: SSS Fights Back, Accuses Buhari’s ADC Of Ignorance, Overzealousness-PremiumTimes by Kc3000:
Blunders upon blunders everywhere in this administration. The ADC should go back to Pa Buhari and tell him that we're in a democracy now, and things work a little differently under this arrangement. Our president has pretty much gone into hiding, making no public appearances, as we've only seen some pictures of him in far away Daura tending to his beloved cattle. Now he has developed paranoid delusions about the agency that is supposed to protect him, same which had successfully protected the presidents before him. . .granted,he could have requested for a new security detail, which I'm sure the SSS would have readily provided.
It's perplexing that our president had to be practically dragged into Aso Rock, his official residence, as he found every reason in the book to stay away. Buhari has not told us what is chasing him.

They foolishly forget that ACN merged with other parties to form APC, and folks in these other camps have never been or intend to be subservient to Tinubu. Tinubu is not going to lord it over the likes of Buhari and Atiku. . .he was a nobody when Buhari was a Head of State of this same Nigeria. The very worst he can do is to wait for the next four years and steer his SW loyalists in a different direction when elections come up.

PoliticsRe: Top 10 Most Well Trained Special Military Forces On Earth by Kc3000: 11:09pm On Jun 24, 2015
The premier Special Operations Force in the United States is the revered and secretive Delta Force. Once upon a time, one would have tipped the British SAS(Delta was fashioned after the SAS, as America's premier counter terrorism unit) as number one, but based on sheer resources, America's global reach, which makes Delta way more active, and the experience and operational capabilities gained from being so active, even some former SAS members have declared that Delta clearly has the edge.
The US Navy SEALs are enjoying their hollywood moment(like Special Forces aka Green Berets did in the aftermath of the Vietnam war), but fiction is a little different from reality. First of all, only the former SEAL team six (DEVGRU) is comparable to Delta, and they are still a notch beneath Delta. The other SEAL teams are at best comparable to the Green Berets, which is a vast improvement in reputation....in the 70's they were the equivalent of the Army Rangers.
Most of Delta's missions are highly classified, and the Army doesn't officially recognize the existence of 'The Unit', as they are often called. So, very little of their activity makes it to the media. They are certainly more secretive than DEVGRU. . .it was Delta that captured Saddam Hussein, but in maintaining their secrecy and code of the silent professional, they let conventional Army forces in the area take the credit. Just last month, Delta Force struck deep in ISIS held territory in Syria and took out a key ISIS leader with little fanfare.
Some in the special operations community were appalled that DEVGRU was sent to eliminate Bin Laden instead of Delta. . .what was that about? It came down to the constant pissing contest between the Army and the Navy, and the commander of JSOC(joint spec ops command) at the time being a Navy Admiral(and former SEAL) wanted to score one for his guys. It was a 'vanilla mission' as their was little resistance encountered, but the naysayers were proven right as the SEALs involved soon started seeking fame, writing books and publicly arguing with each other about who actually shot Bin Laden. It was a show of shame.
The bottom line is; the highest value targets on America's hit list are primarily hunted down by one unit. . .Delta Force. It is certainly the highest priority unit in the US military, and I really don't see how they don't come out tops on this type of list.
