Never mention Wole Soyinka's son or the APC in the mess we find ourselves in. The crook called Onyebuchi Chukwu, and the crook CMD had the mandate to make the hospital world class, but instead of doing so, they stole the money! Oh i recall GEJ calls it "ordinary stealing". Just like the people of Bukina Faso burnt down their presidential villa so shall it be to Aso Rock, the Haramites and the Jonathanians, should they scuttle our bid to retake power! Do the right thing and vote them out. All the best to your mama!

-CramJones
The state government has failed on this one. You just have to admit it and forget party politics. He probably has failed in the health sector since the tertiary institution in the state is in a very bad condition. This has nothing to do with Chukwu because their is a commissioner of health in the state and a Governor that receives his allocations regularly. Compare that with what his neighbour fashola is doing or do you want to give that credit to Chukwu.

I'm not here to brag, post your curriculum and I'll post mine, then we'll compare with what was obtainable 20 years ago and what is obtainable now internationally, and I'll try my best but i can't promise not to exchange insults with a witless worm and oaf like you whose greatest achievement in life would be a prefix and the estacode that is supposed to accrue you but not the responsibility that follows the said prefix afterall, am only human. The day Nigerians wise up to their rights and start sueing your fat stagnant and backward asses for every expensive error and blunder you commit, your prefix which incompetents like you boast about will turn to ash in your mouths then we'll know who the jobless one is, you or me
The above is a definition of bitterness. I'm sorry the reality hit after you got in. Your type can't be schooled. Maybe that was the reason you couldn't get into med. school. You should be proud of what you ended up with instead of hauling insults and bringing up lies just to get a little satisfaction. Ophthalmology is here to stay and there is Nothing you can do about it. I'll advice you relax and assist them when necessary.
HealthRe: 5 Things You Should Expect When Visiting A Public Hospital by Kcinho(m): 7:48am On Oct 29, 2014
All these happen be because the doctor to patient ratio in Nigeria is bad so the patients tend to overwhelm the doctors resulting in long queues. Nigerians also prefer going straight to the tertiary centres leaving the primary health centres with less work and tertiary with long queues of patients. Health institutions operate a referral system from the primary to tertiary. Some health workers also contribute with their bad attitude to work.

So optometry in Nigeria uses standard curriculum Abi. You have failed to understand that medical students in Nigeria use mostly latest edition of foreign medical books and some good books written in Nigeria. You are just bitter because you went for optometry after missing out on medicine. With the hope that you will be allowed to treat patients not knowing the ophthalmologists who are the consultants that specialized for eye care after their MBBS are there to save Nigerians from quacks. And yes you are with JOHESU, probably jobless at the moment. You should use this opportunity to read up and get enlightened cos your ignorance is amazing.

"if they needed more money they should have studied more? huh" seriously? U're one stupid dumbass! U're probably a Nigerian trained doctor or a medical student in one of our universities. Seriously, how much more daft can you be? U puff your chest up and prance around like peacocks seeking to do one over and/or lord over other health staff with your inadequate medical training, idiots! Have you ever pondered over the fact that the medical syllabus with which you were trained is substandard and archaic and doesn't follow current international best practices? Have you ever asked yourself why both doctors and other health workers have mutual respect for one another in western and developed countries? Have YOU really asked yourself why Nigerians who can afford it will rather fly to india for routine medical proceedures? Have u considered the fact that only the poor who have no other option go to Nigerian doctors? No! so far as u can boss your nurse and rubbish their recomendations in front of patients even when they have decades of experience over you, you are a doctor. . . .fool!. I thought patient care and saving lives was your prime and most important calling, i guess it's being the so called boss that made you study medicine. I don't blame you and your likes totally anyway, i blame our Nigerian society for ignorantly putting your proffesion on a too high a pedestal without holding you to account even when your gross incompetence cost lives.
Your induction or socrates oath should be or should have gone like this "i solemnly swear to do no harm to my pocket, i solemnly swear to show the nurses that doctors are not their mates, i solemnly swear that my salary would be the biggest, i solemnly swear say them go hear am for my hand ........" should i go on? Better go abroad and discover just how substandard your training is and re-educate yourself from the scratch both academically, pratically and mentally fools.
I solemnly swear that you are ignorant.

amorji might nt rent as much as 100k for one bedroom. Bt if d finishing and road is good, it might command dt price.
my mum rents her 3bedroom house at abakpa for 12k monthly and 2bedroom for 10k monthly.
That can be true. Though most places in abakpa now ask for 20k/month for 3 bedroom apartments especially around Nike road. You are everywhere in investment. That's good anyway.

Tell us how much to build naw, .......I'm guessing building this in port harcourt would be more expensive, since I read where you mentioned that renting it would be 100k in Enugu, whereas in Ph, it would be 400k plus, to rent since it's a single house in a compound.
100k because of the location. Amorji is an outskirt town. Renting a student apartment ( self contain) in town is around 150-200k/year. So if this was in town, it will definitely be more expensive.

There is no 'big gap' between those two profession in reality. its normal for the medical guys to think they are @the sumit during their study years, but when it comes to good jobs and making real cash, its the engineers.......how many medical doctors recieve between 350 to 450k a month in salary....the only advantage they have is job security.
Consultants earn more than that

Yea, I now know the one that you are talking about. Just behind UBA bank, that large building complex. Well, I don't think that's the PG school, just the centre for excellence as you rightly said.
It is a PG complex under construction.

I was in UNEC fortnight ago and didn't see any PG school there. The one that you a claiming to be the PG school is the diagnostic centre under construction (almost completed) opposite Chapel of redemption. The only PG school in UNN is the one in Nsukka campus (project currently abandoned) that Basilo uploaded its prototype. That PG school is so massive and beautiful, the building itself depicts an ark (impressive architecture I must say).
Next time you get into UNEC ask for the almost completed "centre for excellence" sponsored by CBN and being built by AKIOTA works. It's a massive construction behind Chapel of redemption and UBA.

^^^They should level the place and turn it into a proper park! Enugu is yet to have a proper park like we see in Abuja with the millennium park, or the royal parks in London! Parks serve as the lungs of a city, that help it to breath!
Its a big no from me. The building to the left is imoke hall (home of great men). So many great men and women have passed through that hall and I'm proud to be one of them(though not yet that great lol). The dreaded 140 bedded where the Zik of Africa received medical care before his death has been converted to Nnamdi Azikiwe Hall for 5th year medical students. There are other hostels and lecture halls for school of nursing, the different schools of post basic nursing, midwifery, Community Health Officers, lecture halls for clinical medical students, some departments and post graduate medical courses. So the place is in use.

If there's an award for the most useless senator in the senate Chambers, that award will go to him. Right from his time in House of reps, I've never seen him contribute anything on the floor of the house. With all due respect this distinguish Senator should just retire from politics.
Mr Ray Nnaji is different from senator Gil Nnaji. Anyway its almost certain Senator Gil isn't returning to Abuja.

I thought they said he is the consensus candidate. Meanwhile;
Fresh crisis hit the Enugu State chapter of
the Peoples Democratic Party
(PDP) on Tuesday as its former National
Auditor, Mr Ray Nnaji returned to the Federal
High Court, Enugu, asking it to determine the
authentic leadership of the party in the
state.
Nnaji, who on Monday sought the joining of
the party’s national chairman Adamu Muazu,
national secretary Adewale Oladipo and
South-East zonal chairman, Austin
Akobundu in the suit, warned the Vita Abba
led state executive to steer clear of further
actions on 2015 polls until the matter was
resolved.
DailyPost reports that there have been
dissenting voices since Hon. Ifeanyi
Ugwuanyi was announced as the party’s
consensus candidate for the 2015 guber
polls.
Senator Ayogu Eze and other guber
aspirants have expressed displeasure over
the emergence of the consensus candidate.
It could be re-called that Nnaji filed the suit
first in 2008 after a parallel congress of the
party in Enugu, which produced him and
Abba.
The matter could not be resolved following
an appeal against the ruling of the court on
preliminary objection on the jurisdiction of
the court to entertain the matter.
Later in 2010, the suit was adjourned sine
die, pending the determination and hearing
of the appeal filed by Abba.
Abba was said to have withdrawn the appeal
and same struck out by the court.
Following the development, Nnaji had
approached the court for the re-listing of the
matter, which was formerly in court 1 and
the Court on Monday gave its approval and
transferred the matter to court 2 for hearing.
Although no date has been fixed for the
commencement of hearing on the suit, Nnaji
stated that the matter had been delayed due
to the absence of a Judge at the Court 1 of
the federal high court, Enugu.
The last Judge was moved in February this
year.
He told Journalists that until the matter was
resolved, all the claims by anybody against
2015 in the state was not genuine, insisting
that he decided to give life to the matter
because “Governor Chime and his Chief of
Staff, Ifeoma Nwobodo are messing up PDP
in the state”.
He said: “The issue of political structure of
the Peoples Democratic
Party (PDP) in Enugu state has not been
resolved; the matter was sometime
suspended because there was an appeal by
Vita Abba, who lost at the federal high court
challenging the jurisdiction of the court.
“Along the line, he withdrew the application
and it was struck out. Now the matter has
resumed at Court 1, there is no Judge in
court one presently and we had to apply for
transfer to Court 2 which has been approved
and a date is being awaited. The matter was
filed in 2008 and adjourned sine die in
2010, pending an appeal withdrawn and
struck out.
“I want to tell you that the matter is alive
and whoever is doing anything while the
matter is alive is wasting his time. If
anybody is doing anything now on the
ground that there has been another
congress since then, he should go and read
Omehia Vs Amaechi and know what
Supreme Court says when a matter is
pending in court”.
On the purported endorsement of Hon.
Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi as consensus
governorship candidate, Nnaji said: “The
party constitution did not say you should
select. If Chime thinks he can hand pick
anybody, he is making a great mistake
because the issue of the party structure in
Enugu state is yet to be resolved by the
court. All that they are doing is to cause
problems in the state. They want people to
believe that something is happening when
nothing is happening. Chime and his Chief
of Staff have killed Enugu politics and what
they are doing now is killing PDP and
pretending they are helping the party.”
It could be recalled that parallel congress of
the party in 2008 had produced Nnaji and
Abba.
While Nnaji faction was loyal to the former
Governor Chimaroke Nnamani, Abba’s
faction was loyal to Sullivan Chime.
Nnaji’s faction, which then had the support
of the Ahmadu Ali led national executive, fell
out of favour when Prince Vincent Ogbulafor
emerged the national chairman of the party
and started relating with the Abba led
executive.
Feeling cheated, Nnaji and his executive had
gone to court to assert its stand as the
authentic leadership of the party in the
state.
