adconline: Which govt are u talking about? Govts divested their interests and passed on risks and liabilities to a private entity that bought it. I see no govt hand in this!So you are trying to tell me the business man just decided to buyout risks and liabilities. He must be a philanthropist. |
adconline: Just pointing out to u that GUO, the owner deserves to be praised before ENSG. ENSG didn't buy out the moribund company, but private individual risked his money..If the government decided to leave it the way his predecessors abandoned it would he have seen the opportunity to "risk" his money. Meanwhile other investors have shown interest over the years but didn't get the go ahead. |
adconline: Sorry to burst ur bubble.Anammco is proudly owned by Chief G U Okeke, CEO of GUO and Sons Ltd from AnambraWho cares if the owner is from adamawa,. All I know is that the company is in Emene, Enugu state. Hence more revenue and employment for the state. |
Frankenstein: Why always Anambra state? Why always us?Sorry bro, anamco is in Enugu. No way you guys are claiming this one. Good one ENSG, more jobs and revenue. |
As the rampaging Boko Haram insurgents continue their deadly attacks in Northern Nigeria, towards Maiduguri, it appearred, yesterday, as if the army has given up, with soldiers deserting and residents fleeing the towns and villages. At night, a resident said he was awake and heard gun shots from a distance. “Nobody can sleep anymore,” explained a resident from Maiduguri, who wanted to remain anonymous. Gwoza, Bama, Gulak, Michika, Duhu, Shuwa, Kirshinga captured by insurgents Gwoza, Bama, Gulak, Michika, Duhu, Shuwa, Kirshinga – the Islamists have been capturing new cities on an almost daily basis. They arrive in hijacked army vehicles, fight off the Nigerian troops and terrorise the residents. “Boko Haram are committing all kinds of atrocities killing and raping. At the same time they are taking young girls in batches and the city is littered with dead bodies,” said Senator Ahmed Zanna. Bama is just 70 kilometers (43.5 miles) from Maiduguri and fell to the Islamists four days ago. Zanna recounts how the soldiers who were supposed to defend Bama, refused to advance any further, noting, “They were ill equipped and they just stayed in Kondudga.” Sect gunning for Maiduguri: Maiduguri would be a major win for Boko Haram in their hope of creating an Islamist- ruled state. “Even a brief capture of Borno’s capital, will be a significant symbolic victory for Boko Haram,” said Ryan Cummings, a South African security expert, who is also a member of the Nigerian Security Networks. Capturing Maiduguri would give Boko Haram a very strong boost, believes the Nigerian expert Nnamdi Obasi of the International Crisis Group, added. With Maiduguri, the Islamists would not only control a major city but also an international airport. Terrorists are better equipped — Military The morale of the government troops is very low and the terrorists are better equipped. Military officers said: “We cannot do anything against Boko Haram, because most of the Boko Haram are using modern automatic weapons and the military is using AK47s.” A reporter Mubi in Adamawa State said the town can also fall prey to Boko Haram. We all live in fear, says resident “We all live in fear,” explained a resident. “Because soldiers come into our houses, take off their uniforms and put on civilian clothes. So if the military is already fleeing the fight, we don’t stand a chance.” Over 10,000 flee the fighting: Thousands of people have fled the fighting. In Yola, the capital of Adamawa State, residents have taken in those who had to leave their homes. Ten people now live in one room and a woman who goes by the name of Aisha explained their fate: “There is nobody left in our town. Everyone has left, because the terrorists came into our town and they killed the people. We are desperate for help.” In Maiduguri, residents are now also preparing to leave. “The people are scared. Many have already left the city,” said a woman who chose to remain anonymous. “We who remain here, hope that God will help us.” The residents have armed themselves with sticks. They no longer believe that the army will defend them. Thousands of young men have now gathered in Maiduguri and are demanding that the government recognize them as local defence groups, so that they can officially support the soldiers. “There are soldiers in the city, but they are not well-armed,” explained a resident who had trouble sleeping. Even the Senator Ahmed Zanna is unsure whether the army can defend Maiduguri: “If Bama with an army of 1,000 can fall within three to five hours, then there is every likelihood that these people will advance towards Maiduguri.” Bama under government control: —Official In the meantime, official sources say that Bama is once again under government control and that Maiduguri is safe for now. Nevertheless, the residents remain skeptical. www.vanguardngr.com/2014/09/soldiers-residents-flee-boko-haram-approaches-maiduguri/ |
spyder880: 1. Igwe Edward NnajiSir Michael Okpara I think. Most of those men above either forgot or don't know there is a local government like uzouwani. A boundary LGA with vast arable land for agriculture (probably the largest) and enough manpower to cultivate it but ironically the most underdeveloped LGA in Enugu state. Uzouwani has been in the Shadow of Nsukka people who only use them to gain pity e.g adada state creation while they dominate the political offices with little or no gain for the area. Sullivan chime has also abandoned the claim of oil wells been explored by orient by the Igga town as Enugu was not represented at the recent meeting between Namadi sambo and the Governors of the disputing states which include Anambra and kogi states who were fully represented. The adarice farm settlement has also been abandoned. |
Nigerians claiming to know facts about residency training more than the resident doctors since 1978. Sit back, relax and enjoy the services doctors have to offer and stop whining. |
Idrismusty97: Congratulations Uguomore Cosmas Ikekhua!!!My cousin remains grateful. |
Idrismusty97 Pls help check 45224081AI |
Amaizu: Like i have asked in some other forums, how does this solve the problem?.In Labour agitations, constructive engagements are usually more fruitful than litigations. The health minister has always insisted that no doctor was sacked but that the residency programme was temporarily suspended pending a review.Once you suspend the Residency programme, the issue of employment for the residents is blown to high heaven.Pls see Sanusi vs FGN (2014) where the technicality of "suspension pending investigation" was used to sack Sanusi from the CBN.This has crippled activities in some teaching hospitals. FG doesn't know this has affected training of medical students and HOs also. |
toysleek: The same way NMA did not respect the NIC injuction that said AMLSCN should oversee the importation of invitro diagnostic equipment..But Why should AMLSCN oversee that if not to see opportunity to cause more troubles for themselves and doctors |
National Industrial Court, NIC, yesterday in Lagos, restrained the Federal Government through the Chief Medical Directors of 37 medical institutions across the country from terminating the appointment of the resident doctors. spyder880 how did the visit to ugbene 2 go? |
McStoic: You are pitting ur own views against mine hence you cann't tell me what to do. I own up that part of my arguments were hasty, but young man I would have you still explain to me why the post graduate training of other medical bodies in our health sector do not get equal treatment........Am still waiting for your magnusalbertus of a colleague to clarify the poser I threw his path. Thank you.How many of the other medical bodies have a post graduate school? The students in school of nursing (not bsc) in UNTH get #10000 monthly and no medical school in Nigeria pays undergraduate medical students. |
jonglexer: i was asked the name of the deputy governor of zamfara state....i was like....'you would have rather said no vacancy'A relative was asked something similar but that of Lagos state. She just told the man she only knows the name of the governor as she just came to Lagos for the interview but that she knows the deputy governor of her state. They asked her for the name, she answered and she got the job. |
rhymz: Home training to talk down on a low lifer like you..... I am probably older than you and have more life experiences than you..... So don't pretend like you are talking to your equal, you are probably some stray idiot with Internet connection trying to feel like you are smart. Henceforth I will ignore you simpleton. Now he is angry. If public display of your amazing ignorance is more life experience then I totally agree with you that you have more experience. The interesting aspect is that you have refused to learn something new today. Any teacher that can succeed in getting you to learn something new deserves more than #100000 hazard allowance because that's what your ignorance is.... a Hazard. |
rhymz: Guy go to hell! Do I look like I care to sound cliche so you can like my comments?? You can choose to burst a vein in your rage that is your own cup of tea. I will continue to argue that those residents deserve what they got and obviously needed to be curtailed. It is very simple, if you are no time satisfied with conditions of service, leave the hospital and join your colleagues in private hospitals or go and try your luck abroad like many of your mates have done. What we won't allow is For you and the other doctor wanna-bes to cripple down the sector because to you it to is not about service but being treated like a politician or an oil and gas worker..... 4ck you again....On top of the ignorance you lack adequate home training. |
rhymz: Last time I checked, provisional licenses are only issued to medical school graduate trainees going through further training as residents in mostly government hospitals, these guys can't do jack without the presence and supervision of a consultant. Do how are they licensed doctors? Provisional license is only for the training and not to practise medicine as real doctors would without some guy watching over in case they mess up. I repeat, they are only as good as the supervision they get, they are not licensed and can not function outside of the confines of the training program.I believe this guy still does the hot salt water bath because he is so ignorant and has refused to learn. Your ignorance is amazing. |
Pavore9: l remember way back when people from Omasi go to Adani to charge their phones! You seem to know them well. Are you from aghamelum LGA? |
Pavore9: Omasi agu is the anambra community that borders Adani separated by a short bridge & Omasi agu has vast land for rice farms.Yeah, they do. The farm settlement was set up by acquiring land from 3 towns; Igga in Enugu, Adani in Enugu and omasi Agu in Anambra, |
smallJagaban: HOPE NORTHERN ELDERS WON'T JOIN OHANEZE IN ISSUING USELESS ?AFO nsi nke a o si Na o gini bu nsogbu ya? |
FarmTech: Where is Adarice farm settlement located? The farm settlement is between Enugu and anambra States with the mill in Adani Enugu state. |
Pavore9: lf u grow a good variety & process into stone-free, clean grains, l tell u the market won't be a problem. That's encouraging cos many people in Enugu prefer the foreign type. I guess your market was in anambra. |
Pavore9: l was there way back 2009, l hope things have improved there. Mechanized rice farming is the way to go as manual labour costs eats deeply into the farmer's profits.I'm considering that. Hope I will make profit. Another problem they have is market. How did you cope back then? |
obeski13: .i wil quite appreciate and wil be willing to help in cleaning up and feeding patients free of charge.its a service to humanity.it is only in nigeria dat medical practictioners value money over d lifes they av sworn an oath to saveCleaning up Ebola patients free? I see you are a saint. I bet you don't know that the government doesn't pay for all the hours doctors put in as call duty....and Dats not enough humanitarian service right until they die and their families abandoned. I bet you haven't put in a single word of prayer for the doctor down with Ebola or the dead nurse. |
Pavore9: ls the processing plant now functioning? The last time l was at Adani that huge govt-owned mill was more of a museum bt uzo-uwani has vast land for rice farming.I have not been there recently. |
Pavore9: @Kcinho, as per cost of setting up a mill, l will suggest you visit several operating rice mills in Omor (Anambra) and Abakaliki(Eboyi) to get to know types/brands of machines they use in order to make an informed calculation.Tnx. I'll visit there and the Adarice farm settlement too. |
Pavore9: lt is so frustrating! l recall when we were paying huge wagebill on those farm hands to thresh rice at achalla, paying & feeding 15 people daily for a job not even well done till we got d thresher only 3 workers was used, 4litres of fuel used daily!Nwanne daalu. I have been looking at mechanised rice farming in Igga in Enugu state cos I believe that's a way to good returns from rice farming. Do u an idea on how much setting up a rice mill will take? |
Morotov1: It is no longer the WE situation now but all of "US".......you get!!!!!.The team spirit has always been there until greed came in. |
obeski13: I dont understand their argument and what they really want.it is ridiculous for them asking for special allowance for ebola.so it means if another deadly disease breaks out, nigerian doctors will demand another special allowance b4 they can attend to patients wit such a disease.it is like a policeman being drafted to quell a riot or robbery operation asking him to be paid a special allowance b4 he goes.there is no job that doesnt av its risk.Nobody is asking for special allowance but an increase in the hazard allowance being paid .Quietly go over there and work voluntarily if you feel doctors are asking for too much. One doesn't need an MBBS to help with cleaning or feeding patients. |
