tunzyrock: I think at dis stage in our lives we must invetigate b4 we write to avoid mis-informing pple. Those who are castigating Amuwo Odofin Chiarman are not serious. Those who are hailing d dpo without knowin dat d culprit only sign undakin dat dey wil not liter d environment again and go. Ayodele Adewale is working in festac and his type is wat d maffians in festac need

Which festac are you talking about! Is it not same festac where major roads have become a death trap.
I've lived in that place all my life so I know if the guy is performing. AYO fixed the bad portion of the road ( btw choicest supermarket and 3rd avenue junction) and left the bad portion by GTB unattended to).Same thing he did at 2nd gate and left the pothole btw 208 nd 209 rd. And you are here telling us what is not. 4th avenue is bad, 22 nd is bad, 2nd avenue is bad, 23rd is ridden with potholes .Potholes are getting worse on d festac link bridge(inwards apple junction) and he has not done anything.
Whenever Fashola is visiting the local govt, he passes thru 21rd to the LG @ 41rd and would make him believe d roads are good.
I've lived all my life in festac , so I know wetin I dey talk.Abeg no vex me o
Maybe you are living in another festac o

I was about posting this later today only for me see it on nairaland.
This Ayo is power drunken. I saw a group of people gathered on 22nd rd yesterday and they narrated the same account of the happening.
I once witnessed the show of power by Amuwo Odofin LGA chairman when he ordered his men to arrest a man who came to visit his sister in festac but unknowingly parked on the kerb.
The visitor was in his car sipping a drink when AYO got to the place. He ordered the man to get out of the car. Since d visitor didn't know who he was, he felt insulted that someone could just harass him for no reason. So he didn't listen to Ayo. Ayo jerked him out of the car and told him he was the local government chairman.
When d visitor asked what offence he committed, he was told he it was an offence to park on the kerb.
If u are familiar with festac, you'll notice that those kerbs were designed for flowers but due to neglect and non maintenance, weeds have taken over the place, so no flowers there.
The man apologised and explained that he was a visitor and it was his first time in festac and would never park there again. But Ayo did not listen to the man's plea but instead ordered his men to deflate his tyres and tow his vehicle to the LG.
This happened around 5th avenue, very close to central primary school.
So am not surprised at all. Festac roads are very bad. Instead of fixing roads, he goes about harassing people. Almost all the roads are bad.

ak4God: No light for more than 7days here in Festac,Lagos. The painful aspect at the end of the month, the senseless NEPA brings outrageous BILL.Pls Uncle Jonah should bring back the former Minister Pat Nnaji and sacked this so called Prof.Nebo,So far he is the worst Minister.

I stay around that axis too and light has been off for more than 1 week.
Last month we had light for just 1 week in total, it was a total 3 weeks blackout. Festac has always had issues with electricity so am not surprised.

@ goodbay,teetee2,

Make una no vex o. Been very busy with work.

Get the leaves from those women that sell elewe omo things.

For a male, u get 9 leaves, for a female its 7 leaves.
The leaves should be washed very well and cooked on medium heat(not more than 10 mins).
Also boil with little water, while ensuring the leaves are totally covered with water. The leaves should be arranged as if they are kissing each other.(Will try to upload a pic)
Should be taken while warm. Heat in the morning and evening. Half a cup should be taken 2 times daily morning and night.

Take for a minimum of 7 days.
Sorry o, if I shoot gun, got to get back to work. No vex eh.
Don't hesitate to ask further questions

ItsModella: Seriously? People find "how are you?" rude? shocked shocked shocked

I personally do not find it rude as long as you respond to my greeting before asking how I am....kinda like
Me: Goodmorning
You: Goodmorning Modella, how are you?

I don't see any big deal about it. People can create a big deal out of little things sha.

I once greeted a colleague at work and the guy told me he didn't like it.
Me: dude,wats up with u

The guy didn't respond o.

After some hours, he told me it was a rude way of greeting.

The kain trivial things pple attach importance to dey baffle me

goodbay:

Thanks alot
.pls do the findins from your mom.and get to me as soon as possibble.may the lord make you perfectly whole in jesus name.

Sorry, for the late reponse.

The name of the leaf is 'ewe bonbon'- (yoruba name), don't know d english name.
For a woman, u get 7 leaves , for a man its 9 leaves

You wash the leaves thoroughly and place in a pot to boil for about 10 mins on medium heat.
Please note that u cook with just a little water.take half a glass.it should be warm, 2 times daily, morning and night.
Also replace d water as soon as the initial one is depleted.

Take it religiously for a minimum of 7 days or for as long as you feel u need to.
There's a particular way u are to arrange it inside d pot.

I will post d pictures of the leaf for easy identification

I was asthmatic before. For over 3 yrs now I've not had any attack.
My mum used to cook one leaf for me, can't remember d name now. It works like magic.
Will let u know as soon as possible.

But then u have to avoid anything that triggers the attack.
Some examples are dust, smoke, bleaching palm oil, frying, very dirty environment. For me, I avoid dust and dirty surroundings.

Just identify what triggers the attack and avoid being exposed.

Family / Re: Are Most Women Emotionally Selfish? by kemifemi: 10:40am On Apr 09, 2013
Pataki:

What do you mean by slaving away? Have you ever had a woman crying (I mean literally crying) into your ears all night? Does that make you happy?

Do you think when a woman runs up and down for a man in the house is what brings satisfaction and true happiness to a woman? I have witnessed older generation men waiting for their wife to bring their food to the table and be served like lord of the manor, and waiting for the woman to come and clear the plates after they have finished eating. And yet these men pummel or emotionally torture their wives at the slightest provocation! And yet we wonder why women are emotionally selfish.

A true relationship is NOT about you. It is about US. Two becoming one. Her emotional feeling becoming yours to understand, love, appreciate and cherish.

I had a cultural shock when I visited an elderly couple in Nigeria and I saw the husband sitting like a chief ordering his wife around for food. She was sweating like mad cow, and yet this man could not be bothered. I wonder how such a woman can be happy emotionally and confide in her man when all day she has been running up and down the house like a servant for him!

You just described how my friend's husband treats her. She don suffer no b small.
Got to a point I couldn't stand it, I had to stop visiting her.
The only thing her husband wants from her is food and sex. No intimate conversation, he believes his wife is a dunce. Infact, I pity her no be small. He can't fill her emotionally cup.
He can't support her when she's sick or needs support.
Romance / Re: When Your Partner Doesnt Compromise For Love's Sake by kemifemi: 11:05pm On Apr 03, 2013
blink182: You had better end that relationship and be with someone that truly deserves you.

The things you are even listing as compromise are things that he should do normally. You are the one actually compromising. Just leave that guy and be with a better person.

Should you marry this guy for the sake of love, you will definitely be in misery until death separates you.

Love is blind but marriage will open it.
@ op , u better shine your eyes, think with your head and not your heart. The signs are glaring! Kindly ignore at your own risk. My friend was like you but now she knows better.
Religion / Re: A Man Of God Told Me She Is Not My Wife by kemifemi: 1:32pm On Mar 21, 2013
Lemme tell u my own story

When my fiance (at that time)told his mum he wanted to tie the knot with me, she went to several places to pray. They told her that if my husband insists on marrying me, a lot of calamities were going to befall him. She did everything within her power to make sure convince him or change his mind but he insisted that it was me or nobody.please note that my MIL is a very nice woman and treats me like her daughter.

The first prophet told her he was going to lose his job within 6 months after our wedding.
The second one told her(MIL) he was going to run mad if and when he makes love to me.

At first it took us by surprise cos we had prayed and we had a conviction that God had in hand in our being together.

I've been married for a year and 2 months and my husband has not lost his job but instead has gotten a better one less than 7 months after our wedding and neither has he run mad.

So pray and let God lead you.

Shaking my head at some of these responses! Can't believe some people still reason like this. Oga o. May God help women o.

Roles have changed. Things are not the way they used to be. An average naija woman will support her husband whenever the need arises, why can't our men do the same.

Ladies, marry a man that LOVES God and you'll never regret it. If the love of God is not in him...... U know d answer

Family / Re: Are Good Marriages/ Relationships A Taboo? by kemifemi: 6:42pm On Feb 14, 2013
PrettyCindy: I strongly believe there are good marriages and people out there. I have also seen horrible marriages and relationships, i mean very terrible marriages. Mine is an example of such very terrible marriages. Its was so bad that no one would judge me if i choose to hate all men.
But i don't because i believe there are good men and sweet marriages out there. All my friends are married and 99% of them are very happy. That is good enough for me.
Having a bad experience is not enough to generalize and conclude.

Your comment really touched me. I pray God to heal your marriage. May he refill your cup and cause everything to work out. Don't give up. Just pray and hand everything over to God and he will put a smile on your face again
Family / Re: What Exactly Is A Man's Duty In The Home Nowadays by kemifemi: 8:56pm On Feb 09, 2013
No two marriages are the same. Every marriage is unique in its own way. That's why we need to take our time before walking down the aisle.

A lot of pple pretend to be what they are not. In a bid to get married at all costs, ladies go the extra mile to satisfy a man( cooking his meals nd doing laundry et al when dating). The man gets used to having her do all that and when she can no longer cope cos of work and the kids, the man starts complaining.

The upbringing also, is a major factor in determining how a man/woman would treat his/her spouse. If a man was brought up to see a woman as his property, chances are he'll treat his woman as such.
Women gEt carried away by gifts and sweet words and don't pay attention to details. Those small things we overlook in relationships become our undoing. Learn to pay attention to d minute details
Don't start what u can't finish. If he's used to having everthing done by you before wedding, u have to continue after d wedding. don't expect him to change o.

I was at an interview last year and they told me to my face that I was the best candidate for the job but they didn't want a woman. I was so pissed off that I felt like landing the man a dirty slap!

My married friend went for an interview. When she sensed that d interviewers didn't want a married woman, she just told them she was single. She had been denied jobs for which she was qualified cos of her marital status. She really needed a job at that time cos her husband pay couldn't pay the bills.

Family / Re: Why Men Don't Help-Out With Domestic Chores by kemifemi: 7:24pm On Jan 16, 2013
Have made life very easy for myself since I heard the story of a woman who never had time to rest. From the office to the market to d kitchen and then attend to 3 hyperactive kids who must do their homework while the husband folds his hands, cross his legs and watch National Geography. The woman suffered high BP and just dropped dead.

I cook my soups during the weekends, pack them in plastic containers and put in the freezer. I make sure there's always a loaf of bread in d house every other week. I have a woman who does the laundry every two weeks.
I shop for foodstuff every last saturday of the month( with my husband o, he's my driver for that day) cos carrying heavy load affects my health. Am always on weave on and visit the saloon once every 5 weeks.

Can't come nd kill myself o. Fortunately for me, my husband still helps me cos he said he doesn't want me to age and look like his mother. lol. He helps with the dishes and cleans the bathroom while I wash the loo. We r always gisting . Its really no big deal if a man helps his wife with house chores.
Meanwhile finance wise, I assisted him in paying some bills like the house rent and electricity when he was broke and I neva asked for a refund. Afterall, we are now husband and wife and not boyfriend nd girlfriend
Family / Re: Why Do Women Hate To Marry Traditional Men? by kemifemi: 11:51am On Jan 08, 2013
Interesting thread.
Well, I pounded yam and prepared egusi soup with ugu for my husband last nite just because he had been a very good friend and husband and not because he asked me too.

He's not a traditional man and does not believe in suppressing or forcing a woman to submit to you. He believes once you love and show love to your wife, she'll do anything for you, I mean anything without asking.

While we courted, I NEVER cooked in his house , I only did that when he came visiting.

My best friend unfortunately married a traditional man. The guy believes his wife is his property, does not even help her out with the kids cos he believes its her sole responsibilities.

Ladies abeg shine your eyes o.
