Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah, Alhamdulillah robbil alamin (All praise be to Almighty Allah) It’s a rather long one, I have been at it for a while!!! Timeline ITA: Nov 28 2018 AOR: Jan 26 2019 Biometrics: March 08 2019 Remedicals: October 01 2019 GU: October 15 2019 (eligibility passed) Remedicals passed: 0ctober 25 2019 GU: December 12 2019 (security passed, application approved) PPR: December 17 2019 (Dated December 16 2019)[/b] I started writing this story today the 29th March 2019, because I am really hopeful for PPR this March (lmao, I obviously did not know what is going on) Anyway Alhamdulillah, it is finally here; I heard about express entry in 2017, from my friend who has been a Canada PR for over 3 years now. IELTS: I immediately registered for IELTS, I did not even bother to find out about the minimum score and the importance of scoring 8777. I just dived headlong into it because I had done academic IELTS before and I was feeling quite confident. Alhamdulillah, it went well, I scored 8.5,8.5,7,7.5 (LRWS) in my only attempt. This was in April 2017. ECA; As a pharmacist, I went for PEBC and I decided to attempt the first exam since I was sure I was moving soon (dreamer right?). Anyway, it took about 4 months in total, including the time it took to get the documents. I passed the first exam by the way. ITA: I dived into the pool with a score of 431, feeling confident considering there was 413 draw ( I think) around that time. I got Ontario nomination, I let it expire because I was confident of ITA soon. ITA refused to come o. I waited and waited. Infact, the first draw after I entered the pool was 433. It seemed what went up was never coming down. Hubby’s ECA/IELTS: March came I lost 5 points (birthday). I was now below 430, meanwhile, draw did not go below 440. I called my husband I said ‘oga come and go and do IELTS’, he agreed. Then he was with me in the UK but he was to write in Nigeria. My husband publishes/writes for a living so he was so sure that ahn ahn is it not English, don’t disturb me jare. Omo only writing and speaking were good, let's just say his IELTS score did not help us as much as I expected. We were now at 438, and un-accompanying we were at 459, but I did not want him to have to wait so long to see us. Anyway, we decided to evaluate his PhD which took a further 3-4 months to come through, we were now finally at 448. I was confident of the next draw, next draw came, the score was 449. I said ah, na wa for this ITA o. At this point what was left was for me to rewrite IELTS and attempt to score higher. That was not necessary because the November 28th draw finally brought ITA our way. POST ITA: we had scheduled medicals for London because I was so sure of the previous draw. When I did not get ITA, I canceled the appointment and just waited. By then my hubby was back in Nigeria again so he had to do his medicals in Nigeria. Anyway, the documentation took a while but I finally submitted on the 26th of January 2019. POST AOR: This was the most frustrating part of the journey. The endless wait. I saw PPR stories of people that did not even have ITA by the time I was submitting. I prayed hard in Ramadan, I fasted but PPR did not come. I dreamt about it but it still did not come. I then dreamt once more that God was keeping me from something but that I would eventually get my wish and be happy. I held on to this. There is a verse of the Quran; that says ‘and Allah will give you and you will be glad’. This consoled. I was frustrated but I held on. I found out in July that my application was undergoing additional verifications. The MPS: I wrote Ralph; eligibility not started. I wrote Erin; eligibility not started. Then a sister told me to reply Erin and make a passionate appeal. Then he found out that there was an area that required review (which we did not see in the GCMS notes). I quickly acted on this and got remedical request on the 1st of October. Ghost update: I got a ghost update the day after sending the documents to explain the area requiring review. Only to see remedicals when I still had over 2 months to medical expiry. I jumped into action again. I emailed CPC Ottawa, I raised CSE. I called to book an appointment and was told I was too early for a remedical that I should tell CIC. I merged all my family medical information sheets together and sent via CSE. I told them to only give me 3 weeks to land in Canada, just don’t ask for a remedical, I also sent this to my guardian angel Erin. He replied and said request forwarded ( I smiled). On the 15th I was eventually able to do my medicals again. I accepted my fate. In the evening of the 15th, I checked my application and saw another ghost update. I was beginning to wonder what it meant. Has ircc accepted my plea. On the 24th the hospital sent my medicals and on the 25th I passed. Post Remedicals: Normally people get PPR within 24 – 48 hours after remedical passed so I had high hopes. I started looking at boxes and jackets. I started checking out houses to rent in my province of choice. Hmm Story Story, IRCC still wanted to hold on to my application. 10 days after passing remedicals and after having my hoped dashed every morning. I raised yet another webform and heard security not started. Sigh. I knew my wait and watch was not over. I had to reset my mood. I found ways to distract myself. I stopped logging into the application. PPR; I got a second ghost update on the 12th of December a few days after I received a response to one of my weekly CSE. I called and was told everything passed and application approved (on Friday the 13th). 10 months and 2 agonizing weeks post-AOR, 7 weeks after second medicals passed I woke up to PPR I am speechless. I am happy: I am hopeful. I have prayed about this journey. I asked Canada to choose me. I also asked that this journey be a fresh start and be a fruitful one for my family. To everyone still on the journey, pre ITA, post AOR just hold onto whatever you believe in and know that the moment will come! All the best! (please pardon my errors) 76 Likes 3 Shares |

I am also hoping to learn from responses. 4 Likes |
