@kemmytino. Youre right about 911: Use 911 only when in a sticky situation. I tried it in 2010 in Las Vegas when having my daughter... I had a seafood alergy while waiting for my EDD and called them. Bill estimate was about $1200-1300 for the ride alone! Main hospital bill for actual treatment not included o! I thank God for the paramedics who broke it down for me. I ended up taking a cab to the hospital and was charged circa $700 for one hour on a hospital bed and an injection... Lesson learned!

Yes o, meanwhile in the UK it's free cos I used it there and wasn't charged a dime.

Do you know her present state? She mentioned urgent & quick which indicates a charged atmosphere.

How would she know where to go when she probably doesn't even have a DR? We can count cost but not at the expense of Life & wellbeing!! cool

She does not need to know a doctor to go to an hosp. I only said that hoping she has reg with an hosp and lookin for a doc.

Express Entry (EE) is a completely electronic process through which applicants apply for Permanent Residence (PR) in Canada.

Permanent residency status means you can stay indefinitely in Canada so long as you do not commit any serious crime that might warrant your return to wherever you came from.

I hope this helps.

Cheers!

Yes, it does. Thanks a zillion

If it's not a sticky situation, quickly get on healthgrades & use location/ review to decide on one (most people here don't go around there, from info gleaned here the DMV area health facilities cost an arm, a leg, a kidney & both eyes) but if it's an EMERGENCY go ahead & dial 911..

Let's save life first, cost counting can come later, ALL THE BEST.

Try and get a hosp asap. Even if u neva see doc, u enta hosp u go born. 911? U will pay oo for diaa services and heavily sef

Hello Everyone,

I am looking for an expert opinion so please all senior members try to chime in and advise me according to your knowledge and/or experience. Me and wife are in US on B1/B2 visa and will delivery baby here. My inquiry is

1. There is a government health care program that cover Mom and baby, it goes by the name of CoverKids. If I avail this insurance /financial assistance, does Medicaid/other health care programs are connected to Immigration system?

2. How Immigration department would come to know if my wife has availed this option?

3. Do they just check the payment receipts while exiting the country and who ever is not able to produce the payment receipts they mark her as "blacklisted" i.e used these healthcare assistance?

4. Medicaid/Coverkids systems are connected with Immigration and with passport number they will be able to pull up the details of medical assistance used?

5. At the time of Visa renewal, can we face any complication?

6. Do we need to notify the relevant US embassy that though our visa is B1/B2 but we have to do the baby delivery in US.

Thanks in advance !!

1. Yes
2. They know because of number 1
3. Not necessary.
4. Yes
5. Sure (most likely you will be denied).
6. Not really (as long as you pay your bills, u re fyn).

Hi Guys, I noticed my son has "tongue tie" (pls google it) right from the delivery room. He wasn't latching well to breastfeed and it was really painful for me. I showed the pediatrician and he did a simple procedure to remove it, cost me $350. The Dr. was really happy that I was observant and spotted it. After the child is about 6months, it becomes a more serious surgery requiring anesthesia. I thank God it went well.

Well, my previous 2 both had tongue tie, but it was done free of charge by thier paed and they were almost 1 month. In 9ja tho. No procedure sha, na to put glove and use hand cut d tin.

Hi Everyone,

My very first post here and i am very glad i found this thread 2 weeks ago. Actually i am totally new to NL and have been reading as a Guest for those 2 weeks now...at every spare time i have.
I have used the past 2 weeks of stumbling on this thread to read through old post to enable me familiarize myself with how things are done. I must say pple have put in alot of work to give we "novice" mums/dads a wealth of information for FREE.... was so surprised cos i tot Nigerians never share stuff like this.

A little bit about me.

this is my 2nd missionary journey but d very 1st we are considering in the US
I used to consider myself super sharp at things like this but after reading transcripts from pple i realized i cant do this on my own lol
I have filled the interview forms for my hubby and i and interview is scheduled for the 2nd of May
I would be 21 weeks by then and showing of course so i plan to say at the interview that i would be going for vacation and to go and birth
Would be staying with my friend in Texas
My hubby and I are working and have some money saved and would be showing all those details at the interview
...........i believe this is a summary

My question;
i am currently searching for a good hospital in Texas. Has anyone given birth in Texas? i have been going through the thread but i am yet to find any Texas(maybe i missed it).
As advised by @Tvegas and other pple in the thread, i need to get a good hospital that would understand the need of a self paying patient from Nigeria and with a doctor we can relate with well well.

I dont want to bombard all questions at once so i plan to be very active asking questions and sharing my birth diary as i update it for others to learn from....

Thanks in advance to anyone who replies to this

Cc @justWise

Maybe u were doing selective reading, texas has been well dealt with. I think these are hosp in texas (Oakbend, Women's hosp, texas Presbyterian, doctoresparati and co).

I used VD to calculate, but added another line as incase of CS and put there different of CS and VD cost. Just to show am prepared incase it's CS. The exchange I used was 200 irrespective of black market rate then. Go with both account details, I think the amounts are ok. I also had $16,000 as budget and account statement less than 4 but luckily the vo didn't ask to see the account statement. But I was prepared to explain to the vo I already had $10,000 as cash in hand for the trip added to the bar of my hubby account.

quote author=nupital post=44251211]Dear House.

I am populating my budget sheet and have the following questions:

In the DS 160 form, i am the sponsor of the trip and have about 4 million in the account now and my wife has about 1.5 million in her own account. Would this sum be enough for the interview process?

The budget is at $16,000 now (Dr F and Oakbend Hospital) . Should i use VD or CS Fees to calculate the budget? (First Child)

I am confused on what exchange rate to use presently. Can i use the official bank rate ( 200) or the black market rate at 320.

Grateful for your responses

Nupital

Yes, use official rate. And if u re asked ow u intend getting d 16k tell dm Form A(payment of doc n hosp) and PTA (for oda xpenses)

My personal opinion is that if everybody does same, there will be nobody to ask these questions here. There are mums and dads that have being part of this thread for about 5years,and still here answering our questions, they are not fools! You know yourselves o guests readers following all steps here to birthing in the US without aknowledgememt to your source of info.

I rmba when I first came on this thread and posted my visa transcript ppl like VCOLE and co criticised, "analysed" and said all sort. because the story sounded impossible to them and dy feel dy know ow it can go down @ d embassy. They attacked just like dt. I just entered ghost mode. After that I rcvd pms from several ppl needing my assistance/advise and am sure they would av posted dia comment but 4 d attack on my post. Same way I also decided not to really participate cos some ppl feel like shareholders on ds platform.

My dear with all that has happened, I think you need to (pretend) to apologise to ur sis inlaw and husband. Act like you no nothing and very naive, really apologise while working to leave their place fast! Then like has been said earlier do the needful and report to appropriate quarters to get the ssn protected so these corrupt nija pple can't use it or suffer for trying to use it. All this while, u keep mute about what u've done possibly even to ur hubby cos it's seems they want to affect the peace of ur marriage so no give them chance! Sometimes men can add sentiment to my sister, my mother matter so u have to tread carefully. If they use it and get into trouble for it, let them explain to ur hubby or family what they did behind ur back with the ssn that caused their problem cos u no know nothing about their problem, that will teach them not to do criminal things!
All in all take care of u and take things easy!

@girlool: if God wan help u, make ur SIL just sitdon one corner for house they read all ds ur post and all ds advise for NL. Cheiii, then she will show u a version of winnnn wey u neva see. Abeg leave mata for mattias. grin

Okay house, after reading all the comments I decided to ask my sister inlaw about the SSN. I went to her that I was worried that his card came without an envelope and got a shocker...she said what do I want to use the envelope for? I said SSN is private information and why was it opened, she said they opened it because they could. I lost it and told her respect was reciprocal and it was wrong. She turned it into fight and asked me to leave her house. The husband came and intervened that they held on to it because it was delicate, dumbest reason ever. Unfortunately, my husband is scared of his sister and not saying much. I am so mad right now, I never wanted to stay with his family but didn't have a better option. Just looking to get his visa and return home asap

My dear, just go to them and apologise jejely. But note d apology na to buy urself time oo and also to report to authorities so as to know d truth. cos even if dy ask u to stay, d house go be like hell. So buy time and quickly look for cheap apartment via airbnb or anoda (u can look for xtended stay close to u). Call irs and let them know the whole truth, so if dy re found guilty the law will take its full course and by then u are out of dia house. But if dy re innocent, ur fake apology will save u some trouble.

I'm so grateful you all can help me, feeling blessed honestly. I have decided to use Dr. E of Oakbend. I will live anytime from 25th to 28th of Feb and return 7 weeks after --- by 25th of April.
Does Dr E accept direct bank transfer? Must I have a dom account to be able to do form A? I only have dom account with Zenith and UBA , i dont know if these banks do form A and at what rate
God bless you @Happytbaby

You don't need a dorm act to do form A, and it's usually given at floor rate say 199.5.

Hello everyone,

Is it possible to send Western union/money gram to yourself before you travel( I mean get someone to send it to you as a sender and then I will be the receiver, so upon arrival in the US, you will go and receive it from any outlet of your choice.

Please who has done this before..help a sister!!!! waiting on your responses...

Yes, you could be the sender and receiver at the same time and you can also get someone to send to you as well. The only issue will be if u don't make it to the US?

Pls,I have a question for those that have used money gram to make transfer.A friend of mine that birthed in US opened an account with Bank of America,I want to send money to that account through money gram, will her account be credited or does she have to physically go to the bank to collect the money.she would be coming back this weekend.
I intend to collect the dollar here from her hubby if her account would be credited through money gram. Thanks

Moneygram is receivable at d agents location and cannot be transfered to an account. So she can rcv d money in places like walmart etc or u do a foreign funds transfer directly to d acct.

What is d limit for the moneygram?

The limit I was referring to here is what d banks re allowed to do daily bankwide. And since so many bank branches re on d platform at d same time usually 8am dot. The limit is usually xceeded latest 8:30am. Bt u can drop ur form with them, and they wil treat later. Bt d limit for each customer is abt 200k naira per quater i.e abt 946$. So if u get 4 ppl to send 4 u, plus ur pta. U shd b fyn

Is the moneygram thing really working? been on queue in the bank since last week and no result yet.

The prob with money gram is that the send limit bankwide is small. So basically each bank branches may nt be able 2 process more dn 2 request per day while some do none. It's d fastest fingers tin. However some banks e.g access that does Saturday bankin are able to process more request on Saturdays.
