AgricultureRe: Why Soil Analysis On That Farmland?? by Ken4agent(op): 7:25pm On May 22, 2019
Emmah123:
From your experience, are there sandy loam soil farmlands available in Southwest Nigeria?

Are there any amendments that can be made on a soil type to achieve the desired type?
From my years of doing soil test from the south west Nigeria I have come across lot of sandy loam soil

The best emendment for your soil are
1. Application of fertilizer (either organic or inorganic) in a priscribed Qty at the right time using the best application method

2. Observing Agricultural practice like
a. Shifting cultivation
b. Leaving your farm land to fallow
c. Planting crop that are runner or known as Capet which are known to prevent leaching and erosion that wash away nutrient
d. Crop rotation
All these practice has long run positive effect in soil management

However, to achieve maximum amendment, it important you have idea of your soil fertility by hiring us to carry out a soil fertility test on your soil.......

A soil’s ability to react with positively charged molecules is called it’s cation exchange capacity (CEC). The higher the CEC, the higher the negative charge of the soil and the more cations that can be held.
The most common soil cations are: calcium, magnesium, potassium, ammonium, hydrogen and sodium.

Generally soils with more clay silt and organic matter have a higher CEC and the CEC decreases with increased sand content.
The most basic thing to remember is CEC indicates how well your soil will hold onto anything, including nutrients and water.

Below are some practical implications of your soil’s Cation Exchange Capacity:

Low CEC soils need quick but frequent watering, while high CEC soils need slow water applied less often.

When applying fertilizers and soil conditioners to low CEC soil, it is best to apply a little at a time to avoid the risk of leaching them through the soil and into ground water.

When applying nutrients to high CEC soils it is best to incorporate them, if they are placed on the surface they are more prone to run-off due to the slow infiltration rate.

The lower the CEC of a soil, the faster the soil pH will decrease with time.
Soils with a low CEC are more likely to develop deficiencies in calcium, potassium & magnesium.

Because they are resistant to leaching, high-CEC soils generally do not need to be limed as frequently as low-CEC soils; but when they do become acid and require liming, higher lime rates are needed to reach optimum pH.

It only a reliable soil fertility testing that can reveal the CEC value of your farm soil. The implication of this is that to make a concise and logical decision on your farm crop/soil management, you need to have adequate knowledge of the farm soil fertility

Dear Ken4agent, i m going to be real with you, first all your questions have undertones of a non-immigrant intent, but i will humor you and try and respond to the best of my knowledge.

1. Vo's typically do not look at invites, very rarely, so an invitation to the US by your US citizen friend may not exactly hold water especially with the trend of high refusals. If you insist on applying however you re looking at a B1/B2 (tourist visa)
2. Which one exactly do you want to do? go visiting or go to school? if its school, apply to schools, write the proper exams, get admission and just maybe you may get a visa, but your coy sponsoring your studies is a bit overused, except your'e an academic. Some Uni's sponsor their staff.
3. If you go through this thread, you will understand the requirements needed for a Visa application,Most importantly fill your DS160 and Book an appointment.
4. Again get the admission first.

I hope this helps.
Xoxo..

Dear jazzy

Base on this I will like to have a private online exchange of info with u as some issues u raised on your response not so clear.....I need more clarifications pls

AgricultureRe: A Step-by-step Procedures To Establishing Our Newly Acquired Farm Land. by Ken4agent(op): 12:46am On May 17, 2019
Soil structure:

Soil structure is the ability of the soil to be stable in structure that is, to fighting or binding together of all materials that make up the soil structure. One of the materials is humic acid that is present in organic matter.

A soil sample which is dark colouration is an indication of organic matter content. This will help the soil sample to retain their nutrients most importantly macronutrient (N, P, K, Ca and Mg) and available for plant uptake and this will lead to good yield.

The following conditions and more necessitates the need for soil analysis of that farm land
1. A newly acquired farm land

2. A land you have been putting to use for over 3yrs

3. A land with poor yeild

4. A land with a soil suspected to be having soil for building construction

5. A land expose to direct sunlight for years and prone to erosion

Land preparation for a client. Application of herbicide + pesticide to the farm before planting. Importance of this operation
1. The sucker will be sure of weed free at least for 1month after planting which will prevent them from competition at their critical stage

2. The operation will ensure the suckers get enough water and sunlight since the soil is exposed

So if you have cleared that farm land and burn, next step is application of herbicide.

If you are applying contact herbicide on your farm, be sure if the dilution formulae which often time depends on the how fertile or how degraded the farm soil is.

So obviously lots of decision to be taken on your farm depends on the nutrient content of the soil

We did a soil analysis on the field we are applying herbicide and this gave us clue as to the dilution factor we can adopt.

It time to cultivate that farm land that is left idle for years.

Kenfarm perform preplanting operations in a client farm today in preparation for the planting of our hybrid suckers.

Do you know it best to mix contact herbicide with atrazin powder huh While the liquid herbicide act on the leaf and surface root and atrzpazin will act on the weed seed.

Also, do you know it not economically wise to apply systemic herbicide now that the rain is falling every day? Why? Check our blog

Do you also know that it is not a good practice to mix systemic herbicide with atrazin? Why check our blog

Seeking for information is the way to achieve bountiful harvest, save cost and save time

Seek for info from the right source!!

We lost close to 100 stands of sucker already attained puberty in our experimental farm .....it a natural desaster we have no full control of. Deforestation is beginning to expose the Ecosystem and there is need to plant any tree you fall in that bush.

The lose of the sucker is nothing to worry about as regeneration already increase as soon as the parent sucker is out of the way.

No more broads carnation!!!!! The time to order for tour hybrid sucker and cultivate that idle land is now!!!
