ZionSpecie: One more thing house. Pls VFS said I'll receive a mail that contains medical form attachment but the mail I received has nothing like that. Should I go back to their office tomorrow or is there anywhere else I could download the form? Thank y'all

Those that have done medical/got trv how do u calculate ur deadline, is it 30 days when the medical report was issued or where the said "this document must be received on .....date" mine is today. I paid quarter of fees via mastercard today nd i wanted to pay the balance via visa card but it didn't go. My new start date came late friday night via e-mail can i said it ?
I'm really confused

i believe it is the date written on the paper.. when is that due? if you are running late, you can just print the transaction receipts, and also the email of the new start date.. they would contact you as is evident from kemdee's case if those are not sufficient.

rockar: Pls how do u guys pay tuition.. I read on this thread that if someone wants to pay tuition, that he shuld just walk into any bank and ask for "form A".
I tried paying today and I waka into d bank(access bank) like chairman, walked to the customer care unit, possed on d chair I was offered, and asked the gal "hi, pls I wanna make a "Form A" transfer..... The gal just sat there staring at me like mumu as if I just mentioned something that is not know on Dis planet....after a while she said "pardon"....I readjusted myself on d chair and asked again "I mean I wanna make a Form A transfer"...to my surprise, she asked me the question I couldn't believe she could ask me " what is a Form A transfer" I was shocked and I said "°=-?..huh?..=-?°

Anyway, after a long xplanation of wetin I wan do gangan, she finally grabed that I wanna tranfer to canada and she said they don't know anything about form A, that the best way pple transfer funds abroad is thru a domiciliary account. That I will have to open a domiciliary account.

Pls my question is that what is the best way to pay tuition from here? Is it advisable to pay thru a newly opened domicillary account? Do u have to submit the account to cdhc? I'm so confused. Pls advice

whatever bank you use..chances are the customer care ppl dont know much about forex funds transfer. I used GTB, but when I initially called the customer care line, they were telling me same gibberish about opening a dom account. infact i had already reactivated my dormant dollar account, before a friend directed me to the forex transfer ppl.. i think you should just ask for the branch or dept of the bank that does forex transfer..then you can speak with those ppl about the form A. that way, they can just debit ur naira account with the amount you wanna xfer using CBN rate. you will need to go with a copy of ur admission letter, with the amount on it, and also your current certificate (copy too)

Different name shouldnt be a problem. You just need to satisfy there curiosity as to how he is your uncle, and why he wanna make that kinda investment in you. A well written elaborate letter would do, establishing the relationship (with family tree, pictures if possible), and explaining the relationship and the likes..any thing to spice up the soap..

rockar: do u mean N19500 + N5000 for Vac?
and also, can i pay all the money at Vac when i go for application submission? and is 9am not too late to go and submitt at VAC?

1:As is said, VAC is approximately N5000 (4,125 actually). 19500 is the Visa fee, which you will pay however you choose to submit.
2:You will be expected to pay the N4,125 at VAC, but will have to submit the N19500 bank draft issued ifo "DEPUTY HIGH COMMISSION OF CANADA" and submit with your other documents
3:9am is not too late..VAC opens between 9am - 3pm monday to friday, and you can submit any time during that time frame.

My status changed this afternoon but I wanted to wait till I collect my package from VFS 2mao b4 I share the gudnew but I just got an email from the CDHC stating that my study permit has been approved...I thank the good Lord.

i think the point is that is supposedly an improvement.. used to be 19 weeks on there even though they clearly take more than that in most cases..

kelly4top: go to vac tomoro and tell them u need ur documents back. It is not a crime that u lost ur receipt. They have ur intl'l passport inside ur application so they will use that to identify u.
I told u guys to start tracking last week end that CDHC has processed a lot of applications. For those who submited aorund sept, & oct and has not heard anything from cdhc, congrats oh. Especialy if u used close relationship as sponsor. They are interested in ur case and verifying ur documents now. They have dismissed almost all denials files last week.

guys..u gats respect ds guy's source!.. a mate just got notified to contact vfs for further instructions.. he submitted Sept 28

jenyfar: Hi guys, I still haven't gotten a reply from the uni of Ottawa concerning d email I sent dem about d unofficial transcript, so I'm just brainstorming, I have a letter headed envelope from my school, would it be ok to print a coloured copy of my transcript and send it in d envelope, its a rigorous process applying to my school to send it and I don't trust dem to send it der on time to meet d deadline.

you dont wanna risk them noticing any fowl play.. I actually did got admitted into ottawa. I had to go to the school and pay one admin staff extra money to facilitate my transcript and to give to me, as against them sending it..then i packed it with other stuff i needed to send and got it snail-mailed myself.

sorry to interject.. but i see people asking for format for this and that..really..imho..i dont think there is any format for these things..you got an admission..so i wanna assume you can express urself.. just write a note/letter addressed to chdc explaining why you have to attach the telex copy..you can as well attach the debit notification you get from the bank for added effect..

i wanna think so..though at that point, it should be the account holder making the transfer and filling the form..best bet is to speak with ur banker..did mine through the oyin jolayemi branch..from my understanding, that the place they do such..you might wanna check that out..u should call the back and get the details first..

ps: i did call the customer service centre first tho, and they told me i cant transfer more than 10k.. until someone referred me to oyin jolayemi branch..and was able to use the form A. moral of the story: like any support/service line (Telco, Bank etc)..those quys at the support lines are not usually the best.. better u speak with someone that actually knows something.. hope i didnt offend anyone

deebla.. you should consider earthgreener's correction as we actually have less than 3 months to may 1st from today..but i still say you apply now, with the mind set you will be getting another start date..abi? wouldnt it just be better than waiting to apply later.. maybe (very tiny chance, but still maybe) you might get lucky

adexcube: Please how do they calculate the processing fee for the bank? How much is the processing fee for yours and how much did you transfer? Am really interested in GTB because that's the bank I and my sponsor use. Thanks bro.

the debit was from my naira account, so the conversion rate they used is $160.2. there was a charge of 1% of the amount, and a further 5% of d charge [5%(1%charge)] .. they only do the transaction from current accounts (yup, i tried to use my savings..lol) so keep in mind the eventual N5/N1000 COT that will eventually hit ur account if you are doin from a naira account..

deebla: Thanks ifegy... Infact, the school just couriered the original admission letter and the CIC letter and will reach here by tomorrow hopefully. What if I apply now, will I be denied eventually even if I want to be approved because the time is short? Won't I be asked to get another admission letter even if the date is passed and I want to be given the TRV?

you are totally right. may till now is 4 months. I saw you apply. You could get lucky and they call you for medicals on time. but just as u said, if they are gonna consider you, they will simply tell you to get another start date, at that point you get it. I say if by april they havnt gotten to you, you can start working on getting a september resumption date in anticipation..

kemdee: Please how long would the transfer take if I fill the Form A?

I did a transfer last week friday. The banker (GTB) told me its same day. By monday, I could see the bank processing charge on my student account. not the full amount yet, i think thats has to do with the school procedure of crediting my student account. Was till friday the credit hit my student account.

So basically, the transfer is within 24hrs..the rest is just the process the school does.
