Slimdel:
Lol you quoted the wrong lady, you know how someone can easily say I know someone who it has happened to just to make a valid point grin grin sha me I haven't heard of any success story of someone applying for a study permit together with her kids, cause they can't give the kids study permit as well, and if u say visit visa who are they visiting? The mums school? My own opinion though and also from people's experience, have in mind day care here is veryyyyy expensive, so I still feel it's better to apply then invite your kids over

I believe I quoted the question and ur initial response. I really dont have a reason to make a point.. there is no obligation to believe or not.. I know someone and I indicated that she is really loaded. as a matter of fact, the 4 kids have since started school in canada. fact that you haven't heard any such case doesn't make it impossible..

deevick246: Good People!

Please, which University or College is best for PGD in Human Resource Management?

Everyone who has this information should comment. I beg!

'best' is tricky.. whats the metric? Algonquin college looks good, work load is mad tho.. and if u wanna go a little step further, you can consider MBA(HR). i hear vancouver Island Uni has good price. you might wanna check that too.

durtman: Hello house pls what are the chances of a lady with 2kids in getting a study visa for canada with her kids accompanying her for a postgraduate diploma.

Slimdel:
I will advice you apply alone then invite your kids over after you must have settled here

actually, if you are loaded, you can apply with your kids. I know a lady that does same with 4 kids, and they all got in on her application. so if you have a good bank balance, think could fly. as slimdel said though, the chances without the kids are prolly gonna be higher

laureek: Hello people.
Please is it advisable to get a laptop here or in canada.from my research, they seem quite expensive there.my fear is hope i wont have issues using it there if i buy from here because of the system specifications given to me by the school.

i dont think they are cheaper in nigeria. infact I would say that they are definitely cheaper in canada..especially if you are shopping for sales (e.g http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/deal-grabber-days.aspx?icmp=home_hero_big_20130828_DealGrabber_en ..thats barely N65k..m very sure something like that wouldnt be anything below N100k in nigeria)..also for warranty issues too. I would strongly suggest you get it here.. frankly, there is no reason to buy a new laptop in nigeria if you are already on your way

sobastical: Hello fellow brethren, I must say this is a wonderful thread with encouragement, prayers, advice and tips everyone is like a family here I'm so impressed.

As I can't really say I'm new here cos I've been following this thread silently reading testimonies and delays and I felt its time for me to open up and feel the love in here as a family.

Please, here's my plan and I need advice: I'm a current student of a uni here in naija but I'm planning to move outta the country though I'm currently in my finals(that's after resumption) and something is hinting me to graduate first before I make any move.

But here are the things I'm looking into, firstly I'm looking at starting afresh over there though not desperate but I don't have it in mind to come back after some years(relocating).
Secondly, I'm doubting the chances of getting a renewal of visa(that's if I put in for a post graduate course).
And thirdly, age factor as I'm already 50÷2 now am really brainstorming on all this factors, looking at the chances of getting a visa fast and one more thing please I need special advice on which is easier to get an admission from either college or uni without any itch and how soon can I start processing it.

Thanks to you all in advance for your advice.

God bless you all and congrats to all those that are granted TRV already the Lord shall supply your needs fully in Jesus name. Amen

if you gonna leave ur finals and think to 'start afresh' ..that stinks of desperation.. please take d chillz and finish..you still have many ways to enter after you finish.. probably better and most def cheaper for you.. unless you so sure your finishing grades wouldnt be admitted to any school..then thats another matter

Cos it works for you does not mean it is the norm . . . But glad it works for you anyways.

ds is isnt it about it working for me. i went cos ds thread encouraged it as its a normal occurrence with cdhc sometimes. plenty instances before i went. plenty instances after too. those guys could get really tardy. it is known.

Fhemmmy:

So you went to the embassy and then, what happened?

6 weeks after medical..got nothin..went to the embassy on wednesday. visa got issued on monday. its very easy to see this as coincidence, but if u followed ds thread around that period (march-ish), a number ppl had similar experience. exactly y i followed suit
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by kenniy(m): 11:48pm On Jul 08, 2013
Fhemmmy:

Once it is still within the reasonable waiting period what is the rush that will make you to wanna go to the embassy to ask questions?

cos exactly same happened to me and wasnt until i went to the embassy i got +ve response. the exact part you have in bold applied. emphasis on "taking time after medical"
Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by kenniy(m): 10:57pm On Jul 08, 2013
Huzzie: @ Fall applicants....lest i forget, if you have done your medicals and you haven't heard anything from CDHC please, please and please chillax, let me share what i heard at my agency when I went to submit my docx, a guy after doing his medicals since May/June without any news from CDHC and wasnt getting satisfactory respond from the Agency, went to CDHC to request for his TRV, but because of God's love for him he was stopped by the security guard. Afterwards he came to the Agency, was told "requesting for TRV" would make the V.O angry and that he could only "enquire about his status" and not "request for TRV". I also learnt that usually TRVs are issued a month or less to resumption except for those who were ask to bring another start date.
So please try as much as you can to ease the tension and not ruin your chance yourself.

really, i dont see any big deal if its taking time after medical and you go to the embassy to confirm. like d agents are just tryin to instill unnecessary fear. big deal d guy made a simple expression error? even d security know to help him fix that..but i dont even see that making any damage to his application status.. u really think the VO would cos of that deny someone? naa!..

dotman: Hi guys,

I went to the Canadian embassy today. After waiting to 3hrs, i was called on the phone and informed that they are still processing my application and i should be patient.

Did medicals on the 25th of May, and submitted my passport back on the 11th of June, after making a short traveling. So guys i guess we still have to be patient. BTW, i started my application 21st of March.

they most likely will issue ur visa ds week

Siga: ... Yea u are right....we tend to forget these guys are humans...they misplace docs and files....I remember my case...I did my medicals even before I was instructed to do it submitted the receipt with my application....then no news...called them several times no help...I just go knock dem gate and to my surprise....my medical result was misplaced cos it came too early and was filed away...not until I go knock them door dem go check...cos I stated on the form u fill at the gate that I already did medicals before submission....by the time I left the embassy on my way home...dem call me say my visa is ready to come back next day....so...if I no go...na so I go just dey sidon wait....

this case of 'forgetting' file is actually very common..even till now..same happened for me, and for kayce. also a colleague at work applying for her children, and many more on ds thread. if your document is running RIDICULOUSLY out of time, always a good idea to go 'knock them door' as don said. dont even border to send email, especially when ur application is less than 6 months cos whoever is in charge of their email is programmed to send that useless 'auto-reply' message we all know by now.

adexcube: Hello guys, please which bank is the best to wire tuition fees down to Canada and what is there charges? I had GTBank is good but i want to get first hand information from those who have tried it before. Thanks.

a lil trick if you considering charges: ask the bank to do it from ur savings account (most wont). that way you dont get COT charges.
some background: i actually did mine with gtbank, and paid d COT and all. but accessbank was gonna do it from my saving, but the money i had was already in my gtbank account, so the cost of transferin from gtbank to access already negates the saving i was hopin for..
that said, all other charges are pretty much standard, as the rates are from CBN.
