Hello everyone. I'm new here.
My wife is 28weeks pregnant (her first pregnancy) EDD Nov 13th. But recently, she complains a lot about stomach pain. She said it's like some pains all around her stomach.
She vomits sometimes and also complain about body aches especially around her waist and knee.
Please is it something that is so risky or it's normal in pregnancy. Thanks

Stomach pain is not normal, to the best of my knowledge.

Some mamas vomit all through their pregnancy. Body ache, waist pain, muscle cramps are part of the package.

My advise is she visits her doctor just to be sure everything is okay. Please don't leave anything to chance

Allay your fears and go for it if you think you have the right partner you wish to spend your life, joys, pains and good and bad memories with.

As humans, a point in time will come in our lives when we'll so desire companionship. Marriage will give you that when you are with the RIGHT person.

Alas, marriage is not a bed of roses. There will be peaks and troughs. It requires the SELFLESSNESS of both parties to make things work.

Good day dear mothers, it's been a while here. How are we doing and our LOs? Please my toddler of 13 months has not poo in six days. She's eating and doing fine, nothing has changed. Her stomach is not hard but I'm worried. She could go for 10days without passing one when she was under six months. I complained then and I was told babies on exclusive breastfeeding may not poo everyday,so I was told it was normal. But is it normal for a baby who is on solid? I have given her fruit, she takes puree avocado and potatoes as food and cereal and pap. I try giving her plenty water to drink yet she hasn't poo. Please has anyone experience this with their LOs? I gave my baby oranges in addition to water. I also took plenty of the oranges, including eating the insides so she can also suck the nutrients from the breast. Sincerely yours, she poo before the day ended.

Salary is 100k monthly(8am to 5 pm as working hours) And I have a 9 weeks baby. I am so confused, to either accept the offer or reject the offer because of my baby and at the same time, I need the job badly to pay bills as things are going high in Nigeria..please mamas if you are in my shoes what will you do. I'd go for the job, if it were me. I prefer a crèche though, or get a relative to live with me who can care for the baby (scared of nannies).

I'd also let my immediate boss know I'm a nursing mother (on first day at work or a week after, as the case may be).

People I need help.
My wife was very ok but decide to go for scan to no the condition of the baby. Hmm thing went bad for us. The scan detect Doppler abnormally ( fetal distress) and she was sent to ubth.after hours of waiting with different doctors opinion she was ask to go for second scan to be sure.
My biggest problem now is there are days in a week when Doppler scan is done in ubth and other scan center here in Benin city.as I type now my wife in ubth this morning waiting if she can be scan.
Please how bad is this problem. I have not been my self .I don't want to lose my child .
My wife said the baby kick fine till now

Doppler velocimetry uses ultrasound to check blood flow in the umbilical cord or between the uterus and the placenta. If the blood supply is restricted, your baby can't get enough nutrients and oxygen.

Good and healthy food. Try different meals: purees, yam flour solids (amala and ewedu), peeled beans, noodles mixed with egg, boiled egg, yogurt, etc. All in moderation

I think taking tea, pap, and millet drink (kunu) works just fine.
I hear some mothers also talk about lactating cookies.

Movements usually starts from around 16 weeks (or earlier for some mothers). So, you should start feeling that butterfly movements now or soonest.

This might be as a result of

1. High salt intake
2. High blood pressure
3. Sitting in a particular position for too long

Other factors may also contribute. Other mamas might have other reasons.

Please check your blood pressure. Also speak with your doctor. No cause for alarm by God's grace

I am a runaway momma who suffered repeated miscarriages and a still birth. So I went off for sometime to heal and and focus on myself.

So, here we are at 8 weeks already and this time accompanied with so much discomfort; fever, loss appetite, nausea, weakness and increased appetite. As much as I am not really complaining, I wish I can feel better any soon. I am yet to go for a scan. Planning to do so at 12 weeks. I hope that is OK.

So, I already treated malaria. Doctor prescribed Artesunate + camoquin but pharmacist was particular about preggy momma not using it. So, kinda mixed feeling. So, after giving Doctor feedback, he adviced I take only the camoquin with paracetamol. Even though he sounded like it did not matter but, just to give me comfort.

Secondly, I have been getting regular headaches and I am not sure taking paracetamol ones in a while is healthy, even though, it does not seem to help the ache.

Please advice.

It's normal mama if it's just spotty stains. You can use panty liners for them.

Constipation is also normal. But try changing your diet to more of vegetables and fruits to ease bowel movements

Just what I was thinking about the other day.

How can one dress up to go to work on a Monday morning and be welcomed with a sight of sick people on the road (gross illness).

It is sickening!

They are everywhere now. Some of the aids even hold and sometimes drag people by their wrist to give something.

The sight is always unpleasant and they're almost everywhere you turn to in Lagos.

The appropriate bodies should please do something about this.

In addition to that. If you breastfeed baby, you can tell hubby to get unripe pawpaw, peel off the skin, slice in pieces and soak in a container with drinkable water. Drink religiously so baby can suck from your breast. If possible, that should be your water aside from the normal hot water you take.

Baby will pass it out through stool, yellowish in colour.

Please don't be in a hurry to go home until you're certified.

My honest opinion mamas, if your house is not too far from Island Maternity in Lagos island please let's endeavour to register with them if we suspect

or have a history of high risk pregnancies. They have professionals, although it can be stressful sometimes but they are experienced.

Please let's stop taking chances with hospitals whose history we don't know.

Please any hospital we choose to use, let's make a serious research about their expertise, please.

These losses are heartwrenching and demoralizing!

I'm grateful to everyone here who has encouraged me after my traumatic experience, it lightens my heart that so much support could come from people I've never seen, only read from, yet it's like I'm not alone.

Hubby has been asking questions, googling and researching on what might have gone wrong, and is especially pissed that the hospital has up till now, not offered aftercare or anything. It's pointless to sue because honestly, we want nothing else to do with the hospital, and me I just want to heal and be done with everything for now.

I'm back. After a loooooong hiatus. Alas, I bear no good news. I lost my would-be rainbow baby after an extremely painful and prolonged labor yesterday. Worse, I was induced because I started bleeding all of a sudden at 35weeks, only to be told after scan at the hospital that the baby's heart had stopped beating. Shrugs. Now I'm trying to cope with the loss. Hubby cried like someone who'd lost the whole world. Me, I'm still numb. Distracted. Mostly on autopilot. I'll recover, I know. Eventually.
For now, I just want to sleep. And mourn in peace.

Jeez! O God, what could have happened?

They shouldn't have taken the chance to have you induced, it should have been an emergency CS.

I'm so sorry for your loss, mama. May you and your hubby be comforted.

Please don't stay alone for now, you need someone with you until you recover fully.

Please pour out your heart and cry if you need to, and please take your medications as well.

I am just tired.
Funny, I still live God more everyday but, the question is, "when would you bless me right, God?"

I could not come here since last year July to announce my delivery since I lost her to sudden bleeding from placenta abrasion or whatever that was called.

2 miscarriages, 1 still birth and another miscarriage at 6wks yesterday, has left me so quiet and angry in my spirit.

Like why?
What?
When?

Now, I feel like fighting something.
Must I miscarry and no one is giving a particular reason to why?

Do I have to enter 12 weeks bed rest immediately I am confirmed pregnant just to make it past 1st trimester risks?

I am absolutely tired but this time I am not sad but angry.

Please pray for me

God will comfort you and make you laugh in the end.

You appear to be a strong woman who has a deep faith in God. Keep staying strong and keep your faith alive mama. That Bible quotation as your signature will be fulfilled in your life soon.

Jehovah will never forsake you. He will hold you with his right hand of righteousness. He will fill your home with your heart desires.

Should we use another hospital for Scan..

There's no need for any more scans if the sonographer says baby is healthy.

Baby might not really be that big, people's experiences have proven so.

Any which way, just follow your doctor's advice.

It depends on your health and that of the baby.

If there are no threats, they'll wait to see if you'll fall into labour naturally, if there are, you'll be advised for induction

I'm very tired of this ultrasound and everything sincerely....

Sometimes EDD change due to baby's increasing size and weight.
