Solution
Cover the hen together with her chicks with a basket once they retire in the evening & place sth heavy like stone on top. Do this as early as possible, anytime from 6:30 till daybreak. Continue covering them until they are strong enough to fly (4-5 months)

Well then, I believe u hav a group u normally work with, that is, u share contracts among yourselves,that way u hav work to do on a regular. Or is it a case of ppl not building houses much in ur area? What about changing location where there is more opportunity ?
If u must learn another skill, then ur best bet shd be a skill that is related to building & not outside of it.
0n the other hand, if u consider biz, then let it be selling of building materials.
U shd consider capitalizing on the experience u hav gathered over the years,instead of acquiring new one.

I suggest u improve on ur carpentry skill. My mind tells me u belong to the group of old school carpenters who make/repair local table, chairs,desk etc hence the name "carpenter"
See,capentery has taken a whole new face in this era to the extent carpenters hav now taken new names like furniture maker, cabinet maker, interior decorator, designer etc. Cos the name "carpenter" is archaic & some how local.
My point is that u should upgrade to the level of new generation "carpenters" who make beautiful sofa,office furniture, wardrobe, dinning set,name them.
The game has changed & u hav to change wit it or stay out of biz. Go improve urself,go with the trend & see urself at the top.

Remove the feeders & spread their feed on the floor (make sure the floor is clean). When the broilers start picking the feed, they will follow suit. Reintroduce the feeders as soon as they get used to it. Seems they can't locate the feed in feeders.

It's tym to step out of that house and go find a job Urself cos if u kip relying on ppl to help u out, it might take too long.
At som point when I was looking for job,hunger nearly killed me. Omo I pick race enter street. And as the white-collar job dey delay, plus hunger wan kill me,omo na so I sharp sharp check laundry, no show, check bakery and luckily got dat one.
I worked there for abt 5 months b4 I got my dream job. I swallowed insults from boss and coworkers within this period.
My guy, u are a man for a reason, a man must fend for himself and be courageous to withstand all situations.
With ur knowledge in computer, why not try all these cyber café around? Even if na photocopy dey do for them while u take ur time and arrange urself for better job prospects.

My point exactly. And this is the biggest challenge young graduates face not just lack of jobs.

It's time to give ur law degree some break.
Truth is,the law firm is somehow saturated. Young lawers without connection find it
difficult to scale through, while a gud number of those that made it into reputable firms are being payed ridiculously meagre wages.
I think it's time to monitize the skills u hav acquired over the years. If you hav to learn new skills, plz do. Don't say it's too late cos no tym is late for anything worthwhile.
With ur skill paying u, u will be relaxed and confident enof to pursue ur profession.

Everybody is not programmed to be leaving the house in the morning and returning in the evening in the name of work. Some are meant to work from home. There are ppl who ar not comfortable with the demands of a regular job because of the time, stress, etc.
Personally, I'm not the regular job person cos I love doing things dat allow me flexibility of tym, so I chose to run a poultry farm.
let her learn a skill dat will giv her the chance to work from home. Such as cake making, bead making, snacks, makeup/makeover,even tailoring can be done from home if she sabi Ppl,even online biz is not ruled out, distribution of essential commodities.... In fact the list is endless.
