Hello all,

I want to appreciate us all for the good job we are doing here. But I must be sincere with us, It breaks my heart that recently, seems this thread have now turned to ONLY ASKING AND TAKING WITHOUT GIVING BACK

Imagine if the gurus that started this informative thread had left without giving back, by now many of us would be in the dark as regards to Canada study permits processes or at the mercy of wicked agents who would have sapped us dry of our hard earned money and still dash us ban.

Now if we don't give back, how would the newbies learn and not fall victims of these agents? It has gotten to the point that newbies and old members now had to beg or ask people to drop timeline after shout of PPR.

The essence of this timeline sharing is to help one another, whom by looking at documents submitted, will make him or her know where he or she faulted. We don't need to be asked to drop timeline before doing it. Let's do it to help one another. Is not all the time that the gurus will be here to direct and answer questions.

Reading through chats, I saw influx of shouts of PPR some days ago and it ended there. Guess God has now answered your prayers and you don't need this thread again Abi?

Let's all help one another through sharing of our timeline and document's submitted please. It goes a long way in helping.

Also, please those that have travelled, please endeavour to share your landing gist nah. It will help people getting ready to travel to know what and what you have handy and what to expect. Very many questions of people who are about to travel have asked as regards documents needed at the airports by airlines, but no clue cos those that have travelled, haven't come back to give us landing gist.

Sometime last month during the flight ban, many left through indirect route and many have gone after the lifting of flight ban. So what's happening? Please you all should come back and give is landing gist. It go help us well well. Jay316, I'm waiting for your own in particular lol.

@Makano, guess you need to inform justmellow about the thread. The pages is now too long to read through. Help us tell the moderators to do what they know how to do best.

I wish us all the best. We all shall smile at the end of this huzzle.

Please I need reply biko
I deferred my admission using another email bcus I wasn't d one handling it before.
So my question is will they acknowledge my letter or not
And if yes it will take how many days
Hello Lolly30,

First, don't you have a student email? I thought once you're admitted in a school, they usually create student email for the applicant. So why send mail using Gmail/Yahoomail as the case maybe. That being said, school always give feedback when students send mail as regards deferment. Schools have their modus of requesting for deferment. While some school may have a form you will fill and attach in the mail to send, some will just need you to send a mail to the officer in charge. Hope when you sent it, you quoted your student number, preferred resumption date etc?

As per how long it can take, it depends on school. Some schools may take 3 working days, some below while some more. So just relax and be checking your mail for deferment approval/rejection response

Silly me only applied to one school.
When was or is the deadline for application? is not about when you applied, but about when is the deadline of application. Most master offers come after the deadline date and not when you applied.

Good morning house.

I don't know why each time someone mentions GIC as a proof of means of financial support, some members here (names withheld) show strong disapproval of it. It is true that GIC does not guarantee approval. Likewise, nothing guarantees approval as far as IRCC is concerned.

According to IRCC (Screenshot attached), GIC can be used as proof of fund. I think that is what matters.
GIC as a matter of fact is not compulsory for students from Nigeria. It doesn't mean that you can't use it. But note that it doesn't guarantee approval over someone who doesn't have it. All that is needed is to show that funds in account isn't for demonstration purpose but for your studies. People only use it to show that funds are for studies and not just demonstration. But it NEVER guarantees approval.

GIC was meant for student from specific country who wants to apply under Student Direct Stream SDS, which is like Nigeria NSE, just that in SDS, GIC is compulsory and in NSE, GIC isn't compulsory instead MBS.

So no one condemns it. What people do is tell people the reality and fact that even if you like have GIC, it doesn't give you edge over someone with MBS or normal SOA.

So is good for people to know that if you have GIC, when your application isn't approved and you want a refund, have it at your back of your mind that the refund isn't instant and administrative fees surcharge comes with it.

So no where is IRCC is GIC compulsory for all, but only for specific country using specific direct stream. See IRCC attached link for more info.

Happy new year everyone!

Please guys I need your help as I am at crossroads.

I got my visa to Canada and I am due to resume this January. However the money I have right now is enough to cover only my tuition but not my stay in Canada. I can also hustle funds to pay for my flight.

I have not yet paid my school fees of 8277CAD yet and on the admission letter it says you have to pay to get letter of enrollment.

Can I fly into Canada without paying for the school fees first?

I don't even know how to go about rent.

Please which should I pay for first?

Thank you.
Hello,

I don't quite get it. You have already secured visa and is to resume soon(January). You still haven't paid tuition. So I want to ask what are you resuming in January for? You have a chance that many are praying for. Just hope January term class isn't filled up yet.

From what I can deduct here, even the money for tuition maybe it isn't available cos why have the money and not pay your tuition deposit of atleast January term and get your enrolment letter? Then when you get there, you sort yourself out. You can pay a month rent when you get there.

Well as you know right from last year, enrollment letter is an important document that airlines demand before they allow you board flight. So the only advice is, pay your tuition and get your enrollment letter to avoid paying extra cost to adjust flight date.

My uncles & aunties in the house . @ Frankrobbn1, Lekiboboe, just mellow , kindly help with the questions below.
Age 16 +
Course : Nursing
1) I had once been denied a visiting visa in 2019 when I wanted to follow my mum their for vacation but my mum was given visa and she travelled then. Reason : " your ties in canada". Meanwhile my mum has close friends in Canada Hope this will not affect my study visa application. Also, my mum and dad have both been to Canada and USA.
2) I did biometrics in 2019. Do need i to do another one ?
3) Do I need to disclose to the vo that we have family friends in canada that can serve as guardians for me ?
3) My international passport is due for renewal in March 2023 & I am to resume school in Canada by September 2022. Do you advise I renew it before starting the visa processing in February ? Or I use this current one .
4) Can I apply vo my visa through NSE ?
5) What kind of properties and documents can my parents use as my home ties to Nigeria.
1) No.

2)No. Biometrics is valid for 10years, as such yours will expire by 2029.

3). In Nigeria, allowed time for renewal is 6months to expiration. But you know Nigeria factors na. So I wouldn't say you should wait till you renew, kindly begin the process of your visa application, submit your application, but ensure to get it renewed before possible PPR. In this case, once your passport is renewed while your application is in progress, send the renewed passport to IRCC by mail and webform( every document sent to IRCC by mail or webform gets to them even though we don't usually get notifications). Then once an application is approved, you now send your renewed passport for stamping.

4). Do you mean apply through NSE route? If that's what you mean, since early last year, seems IRCC put NSE route on hold. But if you have your IELTS, ofcourse you can add it. And as adviced, you can use MBS in place of normal SOA.

5). homes ties they look at for is especially family and economic/financial home ties. So if you have job to comeback to, landed properties, business, then you're good to go.

All the best

Hello lovelies, compliment of the season. students from university of northern British Columbia {UNBC} Prince George campus should kindly read through and advice me. I got my study permit by November this year and booked my flight with ET on the 29th of December, on reaching to the airport to board I was asked to present an enrollment letter which I do not have I was advised to contact the school which I did. they [the school ] responded and told me to register for courses since then I've been trying to register but can't find my way through .. Any good attempt to assist me is highly appreciated. Thanks for your time.
Woow. Sorry about this. I don't know how your school works, but hope slots for January term aren't filled up yet hence the difficulty in registering? I would advice you ask google, you will surely get a hint from there if no one is in UNBC from here. But some schools, what they do is, one can write to the academic advisor, he/she will ask you course you want to register for( especially prerequisites courses), once you do, she/he will from her/his own end add it to your course. But school differs. So if you can reach out to your academic advisor for that and or reach out to Google.

All the best.

You really need that enrolment letter before you can board. Airlines now are hell bent on that.

Hello guys. Please I have some questions and need all the advice I can possibly get.

I submitted my first Study permit application on
* December 29, 2020, and got rejected May 26, 2021. (kindly check attached image 1 for the reasons for denial)

I submitted my second Study permit application on
* June 10, 2021.
I made sure to address the visa officer's concerns and also waited for the medical request ( which I did and passed).
To my greatest surprise after waiting since June 2021, till today, December 31st, I woke up to a refusal message from IRCC. (Kindly check attached image 2 for the reasons for denial).

My parents were the sponsors of my first application and after refusal, My older brother decided to be my sponsor as he had more than sufficient funds.

For the second application, I made sure to address that I did not have family ties in Canada and I explained that my ties are to Nigeria. I went further to state that I have aged parents that I have to come back to take care of. I also mentioned that my older brother was about to start up an IT company and he needed me to gain the knowledge required to run the company with him as soon as I am done with my studies.

Unfortunately, I got rejected and the reasons for denial were repeated. The only addition to the list was, denial based on travel history. I don't know if there was a mix-up. I am still shocked especially because of the long waiting period.

Kindly advice. Thank you
Hello npop,

Is obvious you didn't address the VO concern's as you only blindly followed the generic reasons on the refusal letter which doesn't bare out the real reason a VO rejects or approves an application. Now you need to order for your GCMS Note, know what comments the VO made as regards your application ,then reply them accordingly in your LOE in your next Application. Please do not apply again without the note.

But note that it doesn't mean that you can't apply without the note and not get it. Many have done so and got approval without ordering, but then,CAD$5-20 isnt much compared to CAD$150 that might be wasted on next application.

All the best

It will end in praises.

An enrollment letter is one of the important document(s) demanded at the airport. Enrollment letter isn't issued when you pay tuition fee, but only issued if your have enrolled for upcoming term course(s). If you have enrolled for January term classes, your school will issue you the letter to this regards. So if you don't have it kindly reach your school. They will advise you accordingly.

From your note, three thing's need to be done

1) lump sum that wasn't explained and justified with concrete evidence to show that it is fund mean for studies

2) from the note, I assume you're using a 3rd party sponsor and the relationship wasn't well explained and linked to you. So you need to do much work is explaining the relationship with this sposnor that would make him/her roll out such fund for your studies.

3) the two above now made the VO question the availability of the fund or is the fund just for demonstration? So please cool down and draft well detailed LOE to address those grey areas highlighted by the vo.

All the best ok

Good evening house,

To those who reapplied after a refusal, how long did it take to get a decision for your second application?

I got refused on September 18 and reapplied on the 27th of October. So, yesterday makes it exactly 2 months. I have not gotten a decision from IRCC. For the record, my first application took 4 months plus.
No one can categorically say when an application can be approved as none is a VO. But from observations, reapplications here have received faster processing. But it still doesn't mean all will be done at the same pace.

So just be expecting and praying for a positive feedback.

Hope you tackled your refusal reasons accordingly and convincingly?

Thank You for the reply. if i defer the admission do i need to update anything with the IRCC or any other extra step need to be done ?
In some instances, applicants are expected to inform IRCC with updated LOA. But they feel that sending an updated LOA before PPR will make IRCC delay evaluating their applications, a notion yet to b confirmed. Some wait till the get PPR, then inform them(IRCC) by mail ad webform before sending in their passports for stamping. But in all, you must update IRCC with updated LOA.

Note: we have seen situations IRCC demanded for updated LOA, and once it was submitted, a decision was made while in some, decision was made without requesting for updated LOA even though resumption date have passed.

When you're referring to the bolded, do you mean Post Graduate diploma or just an ordinary diploma.

As we all know, noting is impossible with God and IRCC cannot be predicted, but that doesn't mean if it worked for A, so it will work for B.

What I'm trying to say is, if the above mentioned is just an Ordinary Diploma after a Bsc, mehn you will need a thorough well detailed explanation to explain and help convince the VO why you're retrogressing academically and not progressing. So choose wisely.

Good evening house. Please I have a few questions to ask.
1- If I’m being sponsored and my sponsor puts the funds in my account. Do I still need to submit my sponsor’s SOA?

2- Do I need to wait for the funds to sit in my account for 4 months before printing my SOA to use for application? Or I can print after and attach a Letter of explanation.

Thank you.
Since your using a sponsor,

1) yes you need to submit the sponsors SOA as well. This will help to explain the lump sum in your account, and as well help clear the VO on where the fund came from and for what purpose. Also a good sponsorship Letter will help as well.

2). You don't need to wait till 4 months. As stated above in (1), since is money sent to you by sposnor for your Education, you don't need the fund to stay up to 4 months.

Generally, lumpsums isn't bad. Is it only bad ad a red flag when source of it wasn't explained and not backed up with solid paperwork proof.

Good morning guys, is #9.4 million enough for self sponsor after payment of first semester tuition for 2-year grad. Certificate? Thanks for your response
From ircc website, the said application should show Tuition(first year) + 10,000(living expenses)+ 3,000(others/miscellaneous).

Now even showing that, you also have to sow how you intend to pay for the (2nd year Tuition+living expenses+ others).

So with these, is the 9.4 million enough?

And since you're using a sponsor, and I guess your sposnor has family. So is it from this same money that your sposnor will use to take care of his or her family?

But,
Are you a matured student?

Did you use a sponsor? If yes, did you show your own POF?

Did you show any job/work ties, assets, professional ties?

while you apply for your note and at the moment, be your own VO. Think of what could have gone wrong based on the generic reply. Ponder what you could do differently and think of if any document(s) could be added. So that when your note will come out, you must have drafted and redrafted your LOE countless times. Don't sit and wait for note to come before starting to draft your LOE.

PR is different from SP. for study permit, IELTS isn't compulsory and schools from an English speaking nations and with English as language of instruction in their schools usually have IELTS waiver when applying for schools in Canada. But for PR, you need IELTS.

Hello DemmyDD,

Kindly note that your medicals may have been passed but yet to be updated. Frankly speaking, this day IRCC ways are confusing. But then, keep on sending the emails attaching the E-medical slip. But I advise that you relax as it will be updated certainly. When a decision can be made is solely depends on the VO handling your file. Some applicants' eligibility review takes weeks and months while some take just a day. So relax ok and be sending mails and webform and be rest assured that every email you send, they actually see it.
