SONofYORUBA: If SE is doing better than expected, Ibis won't be running out of their region in droves to the SW and North.
You want to see SE become Dubai but you're in Ibadan or Kano selling Fanyogo. I'd like to see SW progress, I'm in the SW making it happen. Lagos is the only SW state doing well because it got and still getting unfair federal support from money gotten from resources from the SE/SS regions. Ekiti, ondo, osun and others are bankrupt. Lagos should be competing with world cities but due to reason glaring before everyone it is ranked at the the bottom repeatedly by availability indexes. The SE states rose out of war and are developing steadily without much federal assistance.According to a recently released UN report, the southeast is the safest place to live in Nigeria. |

SONofYORUBA: Wake up. You know Yorubas control most of the major companies in Nigeria today, right? Mike Z didn't come to see Uche's Aba made scraps, he came to see CCHub and Andela - companies founded by Yorubas.
Most start ups and companies today are owned by Yorubas.
You bring Innoson, we bring ProForce Inc.
You bring Aba made shoes, we bring Dressme Outlet (According to Forbes, it's Africa's Amazon).
Most have our companies have international recognition. You guys are recognized on Twitter by yourselves. history has made us to understand beyound every reasonable doubt that igbos are blessed with unique intelligence and economic prowess. Obj,yaradua,GEJ saw it and brought them in their government and we all saw the excellent result. Now we can see the result with Bihari.Nigeria is in recession. Talking about companies, igbo owned companies are scattered all over Nigeria and are doing well not just in a region alone. |

babyfaceafrica: what about NE and NC safe abuja?...are they not been neglected?....why are u the ones making noise? NE is not neglected because the federal government and UN and other NGOs are sending assistance in money and infrastructure for rebuilding. After the civil war,the southeast rebuilt its self without much federal help. The NC is capture in the budget very well.the southeast has the least budgetary allocation. With all these it is clear that a script is being followed. |

Luckymay: Abu m nwa afo igbo. But the way igbos hype the Queens language is sickening. You hardly hear an igbo indigent conversing with the language in public. Even In the place of work, they will back up their silliness with the excuse of English being the official language. I remember accompanying my sister to her place of work in one of the South West States... The way the yorubas were communicating with their language excited me. But when my sis wanted to collect something from her igbo colleague, she used the almighty "official language" and it was a Saturday o. The way we are going, I won't be surprised if the coming generation gives igbo language a run into extinction. Igbos must embrace their language. The next generation must embrace it.ethnicity is becoming entrenched in Nigeria and igbos can not be left out. |

They can be found in significant number in all parts of Nigeria. The question is about region not tribe. Why is the federal government marginalizing the southeastern part of Nigeria since the end of the civil war,is there a hidden script that every President should marginize the southeastern part of the federation? |

siraj1402: Is Nigeria Back to Default Mode?
#TruthBeTold the hardship faced by many Nigerians is simply as a result of the fact that we have all benefited from the cycle of corruption. Let us analyse some examples:
1. The bricklayer, plumber, labourers, tiler are all complaining because building construction has slowed down massively due to the fact that 'thieves' no longer have money to spend on real estate.
2. The car dealers are grumbling because their cars are begging for buyers. 'Thieves'. can no longer spend wastefully.
3. The private school owners are shouting because parents can no longer pay outrageous sums and are withdrawing their wards.
4. Makeup artists, photographers, caterers are quietly complaining because slowly people are going back to learning how to realistically makeup their face - looking for cheaper photographers - and catering without all the waste observed. People come to a party late and expect food. When they don't get any, they will learn to abide by time and stop serial event attendance.
5. Eateries are starting to have giveaway incentives so people can patronize them.
6. Aso-ebi merchants will soon add their voices! Imagine the waste of having loads of attires in SAME colour in your wardrobe just because you want to be recognised! It was shared that at a popular private University in Abuja, parents are writing undertaking at the account section for their children to be allowed to write exams...and it goes on and on.
The fact is, a lot of people are returning to what someone referred to as "DEFAULT MODE". We mostly have been living above our real means for years - brought about by the free oil craze money!
We have been staying in houses that ordinarily our incomes can't afford. Our children going to schools we can't afford. Driving cars we ordinarily can't maintain. Going crazy with aso-ebi. We have been living a fake life all along. Now the reality is before us and we can't accept it yet. But accept it we must because no nation can grow or develop the way we were living! None!
That is why there is so much complaint but after the a major surgery, comes the pain of healing and then the relief of the healing, then we learn to adjust to the surgery scars and then we can live again!
Nigerians, lets learn to cut our coats according to our clothes but not according to our sizes and live realistically; and the future will be fine for us and our children etc all thanks to the 75yr old ancestor from Daura who has decided and relentlessly committed to taking Nigeria to the age of subsistence farming (farm what you eat) kind of peasant life. |
