Kikiki! Christians can not even agree on one damn thing! Division in christianity is just epic! Pastor A says something and quotes the bible, Pastor B disagrees and quotes same bible while Pastor C remains indifferent quoting same bible. Confusion everywhere for these christians! Yet, they will tell you they got inspired by the Bible a.k.a word of god and tell you to believe! How can you be inspired by confusion? |
2012 and now 2016... Mods must be high on something. The OP begged you not to take this to frontpage but una no dey ever hear word ![]() Back to the topic: ... Will be back for modification. |
So which one is a plagiarised form of the other? |
LordScent:Glad to hear you feel this way. LordScent:Ok. My interpretations are simply the way the OP puts it, no purposeful misinterpretation. LordScent:Nice analogy but it doesn't fit 100% .Most Christians look up to their pastors. There's this cult following when it comes to Pastors and the congregation. The average christian will readily do as his Pastor says even if he contradicts your holy book. Pastors do all preaching most times. Pastors are more the images of the church than the Jesus you preach. If I mention ''Christ Embassy'', what comes to your mind first Pastor Chris Oyakhilome or the christ himself? I guess your answer is Pastor Chris. Who then better is it to ask the pertinent question? Who better is it to ask to spread the gospel of morality? Charity begins at home they say!
In a simpler version, he was saying " why you dey tell us, no be una people wey dey go church get una problem. Abeg carry your wahala back go give ya pastor jaree "Cheers. Lol...funny joke. I appreciate your mature response. Cheers |
LordScent:That was not sarcasm. That was a nice piece of advice or suggestion as the OP demanded. Don't get infected with the regular religion section trolls' penchant for seeing every NL atheist comment as ''them vs Us'' comment. Dude could have informed his pastors first instead of rushing down to expose the inadequacies of his fellow (christian) church members on a large forum as Nairaland. |
40 to 60 days is too far abeg! The whole excitement will have died down and be forgotten in one week with excuses ), that way it will not be pushed down into oblivion among the multiple religion section threads.I would have prefered the stephendamsoho's challenge though. That one is faster. Meanwhile, all participants/witnesses Nairaland IDs need to be verified though. |
raphieMontella:More wahala: 21. Use the left hand middle three fingers for cleanings. 22. Wash in odd numbers i.e. 1, 3, 5 or 7 times. Are you kidding me? 23. Soon as you have cleansed yourself cover yourself as soon as possible. Duh ![]() parisbookaddict: ![]() |
It seems you guys are not smart enough to construct one or two sensible paragraphs to make convincing arguments other than uploading memes. Memes might be funny at times, depending on the side of the argument you are, but multiple memes at a go are immature and a perfect way to kill an honest/serious discussion with its unnecessary troll-like jeers. But feel free to do what you want,it's a forum afterall don't just expect any serious response. ![]() |
Last time a Nigerian guy started using his brain and decided to leave Islam for Atheism, his family forcefully locked him in a psychiatric home with enough death threats (from other muslims) to last him a life time. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jul/03/nigerian-man-insane-atheist-bala-islam I will not even mention people that are murdered for apostasy in other countries. I am not a fan of Christianity but Islam is no better, even much worse. Since muslims now open Islamic boasting threads on this part of religion section, I think its about time that isolated Islamic section is closed down and every muslim thread posted here and receive the same dose of scrutiny and criticism atheists give christian threads. Let's see how you guys will fare in one year! ![]() |
I need that biscuit! Where can I get it? Will make sense as biscuit and tea at the office. Time to scare away stingy colleagues that will never bring anything but depend on you all year round for breakfast and lunch. ![]() |

Demmzy15:I still do not see the relevance of all you typed up there to this present thread. The whole thing was screaming: I am muslim therefore anything no matter how remotely true is Anti-Islam basically how some Nigerian Imams preach. Let's take the camera for example: Here's a quote from a site that deals purely with photography, nothing religious Early Observations and ExperimentsHow does the above post correlate to being anti-islam? If you read further the Arab physicist was also mentioned but in the tenth century. How is this false? And how is this Anti-Islam? Like I said in this other silly thread : https://www.nairaland.com/3255037/whats-contributions-christianity-modern-science#47986558 Threads like this are just pointless chest beating between Christians and Muslims. All these inventions are rarely based on the religious principle itself. |
macof:This is a pointless chest beating thread. The above post pretty sums it with emphasis on the second paragraph. |
Eh, if Mary claimed being impregnated by the holy spirit and no christian raised an eyebrow to the story, then no christian is allowed to fault Mr.Bushiri's claim. Mr.Bushiri carry on jare, you have my vote ![]() |
Demmzy15:Is refuting something false a bad thing? Any ideology that is scared of constructive criticism was never a solid and true ideology. If you have proof that all what's provided in that link are false please provide it, let's learn something new |
Presbulg:By position/job what do you mean? Please explain. If it is what I am thinking, then you are wrong because these Priests can decide to leave the priesthood with no restrictions whatsoever. There is no fear of hatred or getting killed by fellow members, they go ahead to marry in the same church if they so wish. This link will explain better: https://www.quora.com/Priests-What-is-it-like-to-leave-the-priesthood johnydon22:You can not be doing studying all these topics intensely : history of philosophy, (ancient, medieval, modern), Ecclesiology, Fundamental theology, Christology, Moral Theology, anything related to Scripture, Patristics, Doctrine of God, Eschatology, Soteriology, Canon Law, Sacramental Theology, etc.for over 9 to 10 years in the seminary before being ordained without having a seed of doubt planted in you. |
Presbulg:No qualms |
I can list 20 true Muslim inventions that are truly shaping the World right now but I love my moniker and hate bans from over-zealous moderators ! ![]() |
Presbulg:The basic optical principles of the pinhole are commented on in Chinese texts from the 5th century BC..[4] Both the claims, that he created intromission theory, and that he invented the pin-hole camera, are false. Intromission theory (opposing emission theory) originated in Greek philosophy, and its proponents included Aristotle, Galen, and Empedocles. Giovanni Battista della Porta (1538–1615), a scientist from Naples, was long thought to have been the inventor, due to his description found inside Magia naturalis (1558). However, the first published picture of a pin-hole camera is a drawing in Gemma Frisius' De Radio Astronomica et Geometrica (1545).[5] While both the Latin and Arabic languages have borrowed from each other, the Latin language actually pre-dates classic Arabic (the precursor to modern Arabic) by at least 1,600 years. The term “camera” was not derived from the Arabic word “qamara”. “Camera” is a Latin word meaning a vaulted or arched space, derived from the Greek καμαρα, which refers to anything with an arched cover. The Italian word "camera", the French word "chambre", and the English word "chamber" all share the same Latin root. "Camera obscura" literally meaning a “dark room”.[6][7] The term “camera”, as applied today, was first coined by Johannes Kepler (1571–1630). The Arabic word “qamara” has almost certainly been borrowed from the Latin word "camera", and at best the similarity between the two words is a coincidence.[5] |
Presbulg:The legend being referred to by Paul Vallely is expounded upon in the Coffee History, found on decentcoffee.com: "Arabian coffee-drinking began almost 12 centuries ago (850 A.D.) when an Abyssinian goat herder named Khalid noticed that while the afternoon sun made him drowsy, his flock frolicked and skipped about after nibbling at some berries. Khalid either ate the berries whole, or ground and boiled them. When his wife saw how energetic the normally exhausted Khalid was, she urged him to share this miraculous discovery with the local holy man at the monastery. The chief monk did not share Khalid's enthusiasm. Declaring the berries "the work of the Devil," he flung them into a fire to banish their offending presence. Soon the room filled with the delicious aroma of roasting berries, and other monks hurried in to discover the source of this new delight." Notice above, that the passage says the goat herder named Khalid (or Kaldi as he is named in another version of the story) was an Abyssinian. Abyssinians were predominantly Orthodox Christians. In addition, there is no such thing as monasteries or monks in Islam. In fact, it is forbidden (Qur'an 57:027). Therefore, if this legend were to be true, Khalid (or Kaldi) would not have been a Muslim, but a Christian. Also, the discovery of coffee, according to the maronite monk Antonius Faustus Naironus (1635–1707 AD), differs somewhat from the above tale. In "De saluberrima potione Cahue, seu Cafe nuncupata discursus" (1671) he writes, that a herdsman complained to the Prior of a nearby monastery in Abyssinia, that his animals could not sleep. Two monks, together with the herdsman, were sent by their superior to investigate what it was the animals were eating. They discovered coffee plants which they took back to the monastery, where they brewed a beverage from its fruits. They passed the whole night in pleasant conversation, without any fatigue.[3] |
50k is too small but if that's the only option wetin man go do? You will have to cut, cut and cut down on so many luxuries that even some necessities will be termed as luxury. I used to wonder at how the cleaners at my workplace who are married survive with 15k. Then I just shrug it off and do my best to dash them some cash once in a while. It's not a good situation but people are living through it. |
Do you know that the economy is deep in recession? Do you know that not all businesses are enjoying 100% cash flow? Even Dangote recorded loss sometime ago! Do you know that the purchasing power of the average Nigerian is now weak? Do you know that people are finding it hard to eat now and will rather spend the little they have on food than on electrical and electronic repairs? Have you considered all these before blaming the poor bag! If you are still not satisfied with the previously mentioned questions, change your bag and save us the superstitious mumbo jumbo! Period! |
Avoidhellfire:Have you ever seen one? Have you seen a shapeshifter shapeshift before? If yes to the two questions please, provide empirical proof, I'll love to have same experience then I can answer your question. |
Crazyfinedude:Yawn... |
Crazyfinedude:I have noticed your presence ebuka, move along now! |
Pidggin:Nope, atheists rarely proselytize rather to point out the weakness in the argument you guys spit out daily and shove in our faces in public buses, the early morning preachers, the noise from loud speakers churches holding vigils in my street at midnight e.t.c. If what you spit out and shove in my face daily is the truth, then you should not be scared of a little criticism because truth will prevail not complaints. I see you once again playing out the victim complex. These are things Christians do daily but if given a little dose of your medicine you begin to cry. Why are you scared of receiving the same dose of your medicine? Are you scared of wavering in your faith because of the questions atheists ask you? If no is the answer, then stop complaining, whining and playing out the victim complex. Feel free to fire the atheists questions too. |
Strolls into thread, drop three gbosas for Cloudgoddess for a nice thead , looks at those crushing on her and Smh, make una babes catch una ![]() |
9inches:OP is neither Christian nor Muslim. So this your Muhammad diversion boat won't sail ![]() 9inches:Of recent on this forum, Christians claim they derive their morals strictly from the Bible which gave rise to this thread. The story and verses quoted by the OP are in the Bible. No cherry picking please! Christians have everything to do with it! ![]() |

The whole excitement will have died down and be forgotten in one week with excuses
and other mushroom sources. The remaining of the article was from the writers brain and he claimed to be an oceanographer.
